I've ended up with some solidcoin through Vircurex referrals (never bough it myself). Seems a shame to waist it as they are closing support for it.
So the first two accounts to post their wallet addresses below can have half of my SC each (its not very much). Must be different accounts with different wallet addresses.

This seems to have been fixed (for now) by increasing the voltage - can anyone explain if this is a likely cause and why this is?

BFG Miner is reporting the following error:
OCL 1: Invalid Nonce - HW Error
Running BFG - with these settings:
C:\Users\Miner\Downloads\bfgminer-2.99.1-win64\bfgminer-2.99.1-win64\bfgminer.exe -o stratum+tcp://coinotron.com:3334 -u [username and password removed] --scrypt --thread-concurrency 8192 -I 15,14 -g 1 -w 128 --temp-target 85,85 --temp-overheat 95,92 --temp-cutoff 105,102 --auto-gpu --auto-fan

Is coinotron down for anyone else?

I'm using BFG Miner under Windows 8, mining with an HD 6990 and it keeps crashing every 30 or so minutes.
Can anyone suggest what may be the issue?
I also cannot install CG Miner onto windows 8 which seems to run fine on my other rig in Windows 7 Home Edition.
In both instances I am mining LTC on coinotron.

(Hint: Bitcoin is neither)
Can you explain what you mean by that?

Forget the people hurrying to buy bitcoin today (because tomorrow it'll be 25% more!) - Who would dare use bitcoin to purchase a good or service from someone in another country, or at a retail counter?
Who would dare? Me. I've bought lots of stuff with Bitcoin, though I believe it'll be worth far more in the future. Does the appreciation make people more careful about what they spend BTC on? Yes. And this is a good thing. Does it stop all purchases entirely? Not a chance. In fact, let's look at this anecdote. I recently sold a few coins to buy a new LCD TV. I know (or think I know) two things: 1) the BTC will be worth far more in the future and 2) the TV will be worth far less in the future (or I could get far better one for the same amount if I wait). Even though BOTH parts of the transaction are encouraging me to not spend, I still spend. This utterly disproves the argument that deflation causes all spending to stop. It's a ludicrous theory. Appreciating currency simply makes people more careful with their money. They will still eat. They will still buy televisions. +1 - I think this is maybe right too. Many people site deflation as a bad thing but I've not seen any evidence to back this up, but we do have evidence of the problems of inflationary currencies.

My mistake they have just reinstated IXC trading. Solidcoin support and wallets will be removed after the 30th of April.
Therefore the first two accounts to post their wallets can have half my solid coins each - I don't have many, just from referrals, but you are welcome to them.
Thanks! I will look into this.
Oh yes it does - me and some others petitioned the sysadmins and they've put it back.
Adamlm: You can sell IXC at Vircurex. If you use my code below to sign up you will get discounts on your trades for a year and I will get a % of each trade you make for a year: https://vircurex.com/welcome/index?referral_id=179-4876At the moment they are trading at 0.1% exchange fees until the end of April (half the price of BTC-E) and even less with the above code.
I've been hearing from a few people that IXC code base is no longer being maintained.
Is this true? Can anyone provide more information around this?
When you say "it's going to crash" I feel their is an implicit comparison to other things like stocks, shares, gold or real-estate.
Bitcoin is none of these things so cannot directly be compared.
Now I'm not saying: "This time its different" or that their will not be a crash, just that this is not comparable to anything we have direct experience off previously.

gchil0: thanks, it irks me when I try see people tricking newbies into using their code without being clear as to who gets what benefits.
Vircurex have reinstated IXC and SC after some feedback from myself and other users. So these can now be traded again.
When I log into my BTC-E account and sect 'finances' it then logs me out. Same for many other links. I cannot see a way to access support. Can anyone help or provide any suggestions?
Can anyone provide BTC-E's skype support number - there seem to be a few listed and I'm not sure if all of them are genuine. Vircurex had an impersonator on Twitter...
Yes, its all back but with IXC and SC trading removed.
Vircurex are also offering trades at 0.1% till the end of April; which is half the price of BTC-E according to BTC-E's FAQ:
"BTC-e charges a 0.2% fee on each transaction carried out by users on the website. This transaction may vary and may be different for each individual account. Specific job openings will be posted but we are always interested in hearing from you."
Using a code will therefore make it less than half price...

So I'm clear can someone explain the TRC "ASIC incident" to which so many of you refer.
Thanks,
