8061  Other / Politics & Society / Climatic changes leading to thawing of permafrost in Seberia on: September 18, 2020, 09:12:07 AM
BBC News - Siberia landscape scarred by climate change
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-54195656

I will like you people to click on the link above, you can check (in a video) how scientists are warning about the issue of global warning which is as a result of green house gasses which are produced as a result of human activities like deforestation and industrial gaeses produced as waste etc. Now in Siberia, scientists are warning that the frozen grounds in the country also known as the permafrost are thawing (changing from solid to liquid), in such a way certain areas can even turn into lake.

I have a post about global warming on 'politics and society board'. It reveals what green houses gases are and the danger they can pose later in the future. Aside this news, there are other news I have read about how global warming is also turning the ice in the Antarctica and Greenland Denmark into water adding to the rising water sea level.

Global warming is real, the world now know that as it is evident in the rising temperature in the world, many ice bags are melting, this is noticed in Denmark and many regions of the world and it is due to the increase in the heat from the sun that is reaching the earth, the water sea level is yearly increasing. It has also been said that increase in water level in the next 10 years will be more and will be mainly due to global warming.

Three positions on global warming are:

1. That global warming is not occurring and so neither is climate change
2. That global warming and climate change are occurring, but these are natural, cyclic events unrelated to human activity
3. That global warming is occurring as a result primarily of human activity and so climate change is also the result of human activity

But, if we can reason with the scientists, we will believe that global warming is mainly due to human activities because carbon particles and many other green house gases have been linked to it, it makes the sun heat to penetrate more into the earth.

The green house gases are
CO2 or carbon dioxide
Methane
Nitrous oxide in parean (laughing gas)
Fluorinated gases
Sulphur hexafluoride

These gases including black carbon can be responsible for global warming, that is why they should not be too much in the atmosphere but there should be some natural produced ones like CO2 to certain extent so that the world will not become too cold in a way sun will not be able to penetrate certain amount of heat also. So, the concetraction of the green house gasses are to certain level. If low, it will result to cold earth and if too much, it will lead to warm earth (global warming). But out of all, scientists link CO2 more to global warming.

The trees breath in CO2 in a way it takes up carbon, but in the world of today, trees are reducing due to several human activities, this decrease the amount of CO2 intake by tress. Humans also increase, and we breath out CO2, and contribute to the atmospheric carbon. Also there many ways CO2 and those green houses gasses listed above are produced by human activities, leading to global warming.

From the above graph, you will noticed how carbon emitted into the atmosphere as been increasing drastically which is linked to human activities.

Specifically, gases released primarily by the burning of fossil fuels and the tiny particles produced by incomplete burning trap the sun’s energy in the atmosphere. Scientists call these gases “greenhouse gases” (GHGs) because they act like the wrong way reflective glass in our global greenhouse. Scientists call the tiny particles ‘black carbon’ (you call it soot or smoke) and attribute their warming effect to the fact that the resulting layer of black particles in the lower atmosphere absorbs heat like a black blanket.

Scientists date the beginning of the current warming trend to the end of the 18th or beginning of the 19th century when coal first came into common use. This warming trend has accelerated as we have increased our use of fossil fuels to include gasoline, diesel, kerosene and natural gas, as well as the petrochemicals (plastics, pharmaceuticals, fertilizers) we now make from oil.

Scientists attribute the current warming trend to the use of fossil fuels because using them releases into the atmosphere stores of carbon that were sequestered (buried) millions of years ago. The addition of this “old” carbon to the world’s current stock of carbon, scientists have concluded, is what is heating our earth which causes global warming.

We people in the world should be able to regulate the green house gases in a constant state in a way it will not be less or too much so that we can maintain certain amount of heat emitted by the sun that will penetrate into the earth.

8062  Other / Beginners & Help / Web 3.0, a way the world is moving away from the centralization of the Internet on: September 17, 2020, 02:02:52 PM
I was so happy when I read about web 3.0, the internet these days are so centralized, social media and all other sites are so centralized that customers contents can be censored or deleted at any time by central authority. Four days ago, I read about Bans and brands: what centralization does to businesses https://cointelegraph.com/news/bans-and-brands-what-centralization-does-to-businesses. Many of the centralized platform such as Facebook, Google, Twitter, Microsoft, Sony and many more have all faced large-scale data hacks that have exposed the private information (and more) of their customers. The problem is not just data theft — banks, financial institutions and cryptocurrency exchanges have all suffered at the hands of malicious actors. Yet, huge amounts of information about our lives and livelihoods are still entrusted to centralized organizations, simply because that has always been the way things are done.

https://cointelegraph.com/news/bans-and-brands-what-centralization-does-to-businesses
Aside the censorship, what about the deletion of customers contents that can be so detrimental to the person, a good example are the crypto videos that YouTube are deleting from their platform and many more. And also, millions of accounts that is being hacked in which hackers can use it against people in phishing attacks. So, we really need Web 3.0 and more decentralization in the future.

The conversation over who has control over what kinds of information that get out to what kinds of audiences is not new. As we move toward Web 3.0, many believe this future version of the internet will be a more decentralized, immutable and censorship-resistant version of the web. The decentralized data storage solution InterPlanetary File System, or IPFS, is a peer-to-peer hypermedia protocol that is designed to make the web “faster, safer and more open.” It allows users to download webpages and content that is stored across multiple nodes instead of from a central server. With the current paradigm, if anything is changed or blocked, there is no reliable way to access it again. IPFS aims to address deficiencies like this and more.

With web 3.0, the internet can be more decentralized, security and privacy will increase, the internet will be more effective and scalable. Using Kademlia distributed hash tables, or DHT, the IPFS P2P file-sharing system spreads data across a network of computers that are coordinated to enable efficient access and lookup between nodes. This kind of data structure is decentralized and functions reliably even when nodes fail or leave the network (fault-tolerant).

Instead of location-based addressing, IPFS addresses a file based on content identification. The content identifier is a cryptographic hash of the content at that address, a unique hash that allows verification of the content asked for. DHT provides a decentralized data structure where IPFS peers can locate other peers and the content requested. Its fault-tolerant feature means that peers can function independently without central coordination, enabling the system to scale and accommodate millions of peers — not to mention its ability to resist content censorship due to its decentralized structure.

Decentralized marketplace to incentivize data storage and retrieval
https://cointelegraph.com/news/web-3-0-would-enable-new-possibilities-and-opportunities
Now that we know how IPFS technology uses DHT to locate peers and content, we can move on to how content is requested and retrieved. Blocks of data are exchanged over the IPFS network through its data trading module called Bitswap. As a message-based protocol, Bitswap’s primary roles are to acquire data blocks requested by the client peer/s and send them accordingly to the respective peer/s.

While these tasks are straightforward, the complexity arises from the actual exchange between peers, where “strategies” are required to decide when and to whom to send blocks of data. Unlike BitTorrent, where blocks being exchanged come from a single torrent (usually a single file), on IPFS, it is a big swarm where peers can pull blocks from just about any peer who has them.

Modeling the block exchange as a data exchange marketplace, each peer participant has an internal strategy used to decide if content will be exchanged with any other participant. Strategies could include incentivization, bartering, rewarding uptime, punishing downtime or other approaches. The developers of IPFS have rolled out an incentivized, bartering, uptime-rewarding and downtime-penalizing block exchange protocol called Filecoin. The idea is to allow anyone with unused hard-drive storage space to participate as a storage provider in a decentralized marketplace whereby prices are set based on supply and demand. This is a departure from centralized cloud storage with fixed pricing, such as Amazon Web Services, Microsoft and Google.

The network is market-driven and designed to add economic stimulus in order to incentivize participation, strong end-to-end encryption, cryptographic deletion and more. Miners do not only compete on cost; other factors come into play, such as reputation, reliability, data availability, etc. to ensure that the network operates fairly and continues to improve. The block exchange protocol relies on proof-of-replication, which is used to prove that data is safely stored somewhere and is accessible; and proof-of-space-time is used to prove that data was stored throughout a period of time.

A more resilient, efficient, censorship-resistant and robust internet
These protocols all work together to allow IPFS to form an extensive P2P system for distributing, storing and retrieving blocks of data quickly and robustly.

Resilience, efficiency, censorship-resistance and robustness will be the markers of this future model of the internet.

Its decentralized, fault-tolerant features will drive its capacity to scale and hopefully enable the inclusion of millions of users to participate in its global information network system.

What is the importance of the forum to the users?
If you are just here by accident and you do not know what business you will going to do here then see this opinion on what is the importance of the forum for the users. The forum was design for selling goods, products and services that even integrating bitcoin or cryptocurrency as an option for payment. Cryptocurrency is a technology wherein believe to be an option for payment. Others with their opinion in bitcoin and cryptocurrency is said to be some sort like investment due to constant rise of bitcoin and other cryptocurrency in the market price of bitcoin that provide profits to users. Of course risk is there because the nature of bitcoin and other cryptocurrency is its market price volatility. (Rise and fall of bitcoin and cryptocurrency market)

In my own point of view with cryptocurrency is that it will be part of the option as a digital currency with anonymity features and decentralized system without government interference to help ease the transaction process online. A better option than using banks services.
This forum was mainly designed to be a community for bitcoin users as a way they can easily know more about bitcoin, and to solve any problem encountered during the use. Then, others follows.

To know how this forum is now so importantal as of recently time, read more in the quoted topic below.

Bitcointalk.org is a very extraordinary forum, unique. Here we are free to interact, communicate and so on as long as we still follow the forum rules. Many are angry, many are happy. The emotions in this forum not only make us smile alone but also make us feel what makes other people feel sad.

Then what exactly is Bitcointalk.org?
From my point of view, Bitcointalk.org has provided everything for everyone with equal opportunity. There are different goals of the members here. But one thing is for sure, Bitcointalk.org is where we work, joke, or even have a career.

Why do I say that Bitcointalk is a career place? This is what I feel, I am only a member with minimal knowledge of technical crypto development. But there is another side that I can achieve from Bitcointalk.

A career journey that can be felt by all members, if you use this forum not only to take part in airdrops and bounties without any consideration about the project and just trapped by scam project promotion to waste your time. Here some career that can achieved by community

1. Become a Community Manager (Freelance, Contract, Full-Time)
One of the careers that you can get in this forum is as a Community Manager (I will call it CM). Those of you who have communication skills can become a CM. There are hundreds of legit projects that you can find from the Announcement Board page or from Services/Services announcement board. From there you can do a project research, look for opportunities, and apply as a CM. The payment also varies, depending on how much you respect yourself.

2. Become a Bounty Manager / Campaign Manager (BM / CM)
A Bounty Manager / Campaign Manager (hereinafter I will call BM), is also one of the jobs that you can make a promising career for you. Just look at how Hhampuz, Murat, Coolcryptovator, DarkStar_ and other top BM are working form campaign a project. Not just one project, they can hold up to 5 projects at once. Isn't this very interesting to be an example that a career as BM is very exciting. Recently I handle some campaign as BM, this is very good experience to be part of the community, you have a same opportunity, just remember follow the rules of the forum, learning, discuss, and sharing. Impossible is nothing to be one of the top member with good reputation to build your "Brand".

3. Become a money lender
Lending money is also like going through a career, you get income from the loans you provide. Even if there are those who offer interest-free, the community still appreciates it by giving something extra. If you are serious about this, you can become a successful lender. For example, OmegaStarScream, DarkStar_, DireWolfM14 and other who doing this services for a long time with lot of customers.

4. Become a professional designer (graphic / website)
Threads, signature campaigns, promotions all require designs to attract members' interest in Bitcointalk. If you don't get the opportunity at freelance website services, try to be more serious about improving your design skills. Thus you can be trusted to be the permanent designer of a project. Or use the service by top BM.

5. Translator or content creator
Lot of project need translator to bring their project going global. You can take this place too. Also you can be a professional content writer to help a project creating content marketing or anything related. This is very good opportunity, you can work from home everyday. And working as you want Smiley

6. Developer
Are you website developer, application developer? You can be a professional and reputable developer here.

7. to much to thinking about the opportunity here , you can find it by your self Grin
There are many careers opportunities that can be achieved by all members in this forum.

END NOTE:
Unfortunately, this opportunity was not taken by the members. Especially the members who just joined Bitcointalk.org. They only think about Airdrops and Bounties which actually don't guarantee an opportunity if they don't do research well, even though doing research doesn't mean it will be 100% successful. However, by choosing to achieve a better career as a freelancer or full-timer, trough Bitcointalk.org. So, are you Newbie. Jr. Member, Member and high rank though, do you still want to continue to chase the something that can be a waste your time only or become a smarter members to see opportunities than just greed for shitcoin?

Let's think about it, and see you when become a better member
8064  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: THE BOUNTY SPACE IN THIS CRYPTO PLATFORM IS TOXIC AND UNFAIR on: September 17, 2020, 07:45:36 AM
well what did you expect from scammers?
almost all of the ICOs created have been scams or at the very least a garbage token created to make some quick buck for their creators. you can't really expect them run a good bounty campaign and be honorable people.
it is the same with ICO, IEO, STO, and nowadays DEFI. you can't really complain when you are treated badly or even in some cases not paid.
95% ICO turned out to be scam, including all others mentioned to be scam. The projects can be real scam or are only wolf of wall street, pumping and dumping a projecting in a way for most investors to lose after they (scammers) take the gain. About the issue of Defi, it has been also a project that helped real developers while it can favour other investors but most of the time will not favour. The last thing I can never even think of is to invest on any Defi project. I have seen my friends gaining and losing. That is why some people will still always invest on it and lose.

I read on a news about one man saying Defi is going to still have value than bitcoin in the next 5 years, please how is that possible, but only just a way to decoy fools and novices to invest in such projects. How can Defi projects have a marketcap more than bitcoin in the next 5 years. It is not possible but a scam speech to lure novices to invest o the defi project.

Recently, I also read about an exit scam which is a Defi project that was even legitimized by Tron. We need to be careful of these projects.

Tron’s primary DeFi project whitelisted what looks like a scam.
https://cointelegraph.com/news/tron-legitimized-a-project-before-it-pulled-an-exit-scam-community-says
The Tron (TRX) community is accusing the Just Foundation of whitelisting a “DeFi project” that eventually pulled an exit scam, pocketing about $2 million in TRX tokens. According to a post on Tron’s subreddit, the foundation created a token whitelist for its Uniswap clone, JustSwap, to curb instances of fraudulent tokens and projects. The project in question, Tron Supernode, can still be found in the whitelist, even though the website has been completely deactivated as the community reported that withdrawals were disabled.
8065  Economy / Speculation / Re: COVID-19 Vaccine Will Cause Bitcoin Crash on: September 16, 2020, 02:33:48 PM
I have made an article about what the code of coronavirus vaccine will be before on politics and society board.

5. How much will it cost?
While billions of dollars are being invested in vaccine development, millions more are being pledged to buy and supply the vaccine. Prices per dose depend on the type of vaccine, the manufacturer and the number of doses ordered. Pharmaceutical company Moderna, for example, is reportedly selling access to its potential vaccine at between $32 and $37 a dose (£24 to £28). AstraZeneca, on the other hand has said it will supply its vaccine "at cost" - or a few dollars per dose - during the pandemic. The Serum Institute of India (SSI), the world's largest vaccine manufacturer by volume, is being backed by $150m from Gavi and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to make and deliver up to 100 million doses of the successful Covid-19 vaccines for India and low- and middle-income countries. They say the ceiling price will be $3 (£2.28) a dose. But patients receiving the vaccine are unlikely to be charged in most cases. In the UK, mass distribution will be via the NHS health service. Student doctors and nurses, dentists and vets could be trained to back up existing NHS staff in administering the jab en masse. Consultation is currently under way. Other countries, such as Australia, have said they will offer free doses to their population. People receiving vaccines via humanitarian organisations - a vital cog in the global distribution wheel - will not be charged. In the US, while the shot might be free, healthcare professionals could charge for administering the jab - leaving uninsured Americans possibly facing a vaccine bill.

People are not ready to even use the vaccine not to talk of buying it. With time, the vaccine will be free or have low cost. Do not think that people will take from their bitcoin to buy the vaccine too, and if there is, it will be negligible compared to bitcoin marketcap. Do not reason the vaccine will have any effect at all, imo.
8066  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: USDT wallet on: September 16, 2020, 02:22:26 PM
There are 3 chains for Tether: Omni layer (btc), ERC20 (ETH), TRC20 (Tron). Many people move their USDT to BTC address. It will result in troubles and if companies don't support, they will lose their money.
That is why wallets that users can control it private keys are better, instead of using custodial wallets. People should understand that if not their your keys, it is definitely not your coins on the blockchain. There are many people that have sent tether to the tether omini layer, supposing they have the private key of the address, they will be able to retrieve the tether on a wallet that support omini layer like coinomi. But, this is not what custodial wallet can offer, instead they will go away with someone's fund.

Even, aside that, there are many advantages of noncustodial wallet over custodail wallet. That is why only novice that does not any anything about wallet are the ones that are using custodial wallets.
8067  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: USDT wallet on: September 16, 2020, 09:48:09 AM
USDT is an erc20-Token, so it is integrated in the Ethereum Network. That means you can use any Wallet which support ETH. The most common are MEW (https://www.myetherwallet.com/ ) and MetaMask (https://metamask.io/). MetaMask is a plugin for chrome and chrome-based browser + available as an app for android and iOS.
Tether is now built on three blockchains.

1. Omini later which is built on bitcoin blockchain
2. ERC20 which is built on ethereum blockchain
3. And the last one for now is built on tron blockchain which is called TRC20 token.

Hardware wallet that support bitcoin, ethereum and tron can be used to store tether because they are support the three blockchain. Wallets like coinomi also support this, but it is an online wallet. If the amount of tether the person want to hold is much, I will suggest using hardware wallet like trezor one or ledger nano s or x.

He can then decide which one to use, be it omini layer for bitcoin, ERC20 for ethereum platform or the TRC20. But, in my opinion, using the omini layer is best but nothing bad using the other two.
8068  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Best way to send small amount of BTC to 200 unique addresses? on: September 16, 2020, 06:45:57 AM
I'm mostly concerned about transfer fees.
You can check the quote below. You do not have to worry about the transactions fee, if you send to the 20 addresses one by one, it will cost you more fee. Although, sending to the 20 addresses will also cost you more fee but in a way that is far lesser than sending to 20 address one by one. What matters is the size or weight (segwit) of the transaction, not the total amount that you are sending.

Sending 20 single transactions with 1 input / 1 output each, costs 3-4 times more than sending a single transaction with 1 input / 20 outputs.

If you play with the site linked by Lucius:
1 input / 1 output: ~138 vbytes
20x 1 input / 1 output: ~2760 vbytes
1 input / 20 outputs: ~784 vbytes
8069  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Fees to high on: September 15, 2020, 10:56:23 PM
Like you were told, you need to consolidate your input. If you still do not get it right, let me show you the steps:

1. On the same wallet, generate new address
2. Use the fee control to customize or edit the fee. Set it to 1 satoshi/vbyte
3. Send the whole bitcoin to the new address on the same wallet.

Do not worry, this may take some hours to few days before your transaction will be confirmed, but it will eventually be confirmed, after confirmation, you will be able to send with low transactions fee. But also know that memory pool also determine the fee, if congested, the fee can be high.

If you do not have a wallet that has fee control, that means you can not edit the fee. You will need to import your seed phrase into a wallet that has such feature, a good example are electrum, bitcoin core and coinomi. If you export your seed phrase into the wallet, you will be able to edit your fee to as low as 1 satoshi/vbyte.

I am new to Bitcointalk, I don't know how to get merit by posting, I would be very helpful if someone would please cooperate a little.
Thanks
You account has been over 8 months ago, since January, 2020. I think you need to work on your post quality, if you do, you will be given merits to posts that are worth to be given merits. With that, you will be able to apply for merit giveaways like this. Although, I did not look into your profile, but the free merit giver did not award you any merit, which is an indication that you did not post in a way that is meritable, else he would have given you at last 1 merit. Do not see this as a redicule but as a challenge for you to make quality posts in order to earn merits and rank up because this is what you want.
8071  Other / Off-topic / Re: [GUIDE] How to get WHOIS information of a domain on: September 15, 2020, 12:21:28 PM
This is a very good write up, but I have few things to comment about. Normally, there are countries scammers can be able to have fake identities, also it can happen in many well regulate countries that scammers will have fake identities (but legit in the community). Normally, someone's home/workplace addresses can be fake without ICANN knowing, people can still use emails runining on dark web to be anonymous to certain extent, like the proton email, using Tor browser that will provide certain level of privacy. Also, people can have helpers in service providing companies to register real fake sims, some people can even go with fake documents and be lucky. This should be known.

If you are running illegal activities on your website using a domain name, ICANN might seize the domain from you. So you will lose access to the domain name you paid for. In the case of bitcoin scammers these go largely unmoderated because they appear and disappear so fast that they're only up for a few months or so, and don't get enough traffic for ICANN to see their site at all. Scam sites get, say, a few hundred visits in their lifetime. That's why scam sites usually stay up.
Thousands of people could have been scammed before ICANN will seize the domain, this is not new but common. It is also worthy to know that many scam domains are still existing and nothing yet happen but they are still scamming people. ICANN may be trying but there are domains that still always be for scammers. Scamming is complicated and complex at times, and beyond simplicity.

Another thing scammers can do is register a domain name with fake contact information (fake name, address, phone number). Neither the domain registrar nor ICANN verifies your contact information to make sure it exists and is correct, but if you do that and ICANN ever has a problem with their site they want to contact or call you about, contact will be impossible so they will just seize your domain without warning.
You can fake real identity that is fake, check my illustration above. Scammers are wise and can manipulate. There are many of them that have fake mobile number that can not be traced to them, they have untraceable emails and fake addresses. ICANN will contact them but still act like they are real and legit. So, ICANN will not seize the domain until their aims are achieved.

Know that people are different, we are more talented than each other, also scammers are talented than each other. Many scammers have unsuspicious domain for long, and are using it to scam people. Some could be known but they would have gained a lot of money/bitcoin from victims.

Ultimately, people can fall being victim, we need to be careful of these scammers, never depending on any ICANN, we can be scammed at any time. We should check domain name, if created not long enough, we should not invest on such business(es) the site is offering. Also there are many domains existing for over a long time but ICANN can not do anything to stop them, it is us that will apply wisdom and knowledge. A good example are cloud mining, what are their domains no blocked till now.

There are many scam domain ICANN do not seize which are actually scam. It is us that need to be careful for not to be scammed.
8072  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My taught of plagiarism, spamming and scam in forum. on: September 15, 2020, 07:23:08 AM
It is even simple, if you know you want to avoid spamming and plagiarism, then adding the link of the site you copy from is so simple, and if the post is good enough to be awarded merit, definitely, some people will do. Newbies should try and understand to write a whole topic/post off hand or do add the link. As simple as that.

Some people are not even just worthy to be on this forum because they do not know what to contribute and having ego to ask, some people are having psychological progression in a way they can not be corrected, such people will make mistakes and are not receptive to accept any correction at all. It is very possible such people can even plagiarize.

About the issue of scamming, I like that this forum is a whole lot of lessons for us, any good member of this forum that is scammed may not be possible, the forum helped us to know about scam, how to avoid them, and also helped us to maintain high privacy level. So, coming here to scam is just a waste of time. The best knowledge I have had in life are all from this forum.

In conclusion, I too will encourage people not to spam or scam but to focus and be determined, if he wants to earn on this forum, hard work is required, and that will be seen in their quality posts as a result of quality researches done.

A person that knows what decentralization is and have created account on Bitcointalk many months ago should not be asking these questions. Then, if you do not accept what I and 20kevin20 commented above, I do not think you can get your answer. Or better still put you on ignore list will be good. Even, new members ask good question that is well answered, and they accepted. I can see reasons why some members will have a stagnant account on this forum as they think they know it all and try to find what is not lost.

When Satoshi Nakamoto is an anonymous name, why people bother to know about him. All I can say is that Satoshi even wants people to think bitcoin developers and investors are the real Satoshi. Why the need for any other person/people to be thinking about who Satoshi is. I think this should be the end of such discussion for now. All we know is that Satoshi is bitcoin creator. And just leave it be.

So, is mining proftiable now? New asics becoming outdated so fast
As the hash rate generated by miners is increasing, the mining difficulty will be increasing so that bitcoin mining reward will still be 10 minutes on average, this is corrected in every two weeks in accordance to the hash rate generated by miners. This have effect on the mining reward but with the increasing bitcoin price, miners still find it good to mine bitcoin as always.

Do your calculation, find out if bitcoin mining is profitable in your area, check what will be the reward for you in certain time range, check the electricity cost in your area. Know that mining is not for everyone. If the calculation does not favour you, then do not mine bitcoin. But there are many miners profiting from bitcoin mining, that is why the hash rate is increasing, so commenting asics are getting outdated so fast is wrong. Just do your calculation to know if it favours you or not in your location.

@erikoy, you can add Coinbase Wallet app to your list as another option to Coinbase (exchange). It's their non-custodial wallet that supports BIP39 seed.
There is an app called the coinbase, it is available on playstore, it is actually not a noncustodial wallet, it provide users with no private key(s), it is very different from coinbase pro which is an exchange belonging also to coinbase company. But I get your point, there is third one called coinbase wallet app, which provide users with private key, I have downloaded it some months back, the wallet generated me seed phrase but I still have a problem with the wallet as I check all around on the app and I was unable to access my private key on my device. Can you tell us how to check our private key(s) on the wallet? So far the company is proving that the private key is stored on our device. But, is it accessible?

It is worthy to know that coinbase mobile app is different from coinbase app, but coinbase app is a wallet which is totally custodial and it is the one most downloaded by novices and newbies not knowing the difference.

Coinbase wallet:- no private key(s).
Coinbase pro:- totally custodial exchange/trading platform
Coinbase wallet app:- said to have private key(s) but is it accessible?

Also, let us know that for coinbase to have mobile wallet (coinbase wallet app) and also having web wallet (coinbase wallet) which also has mobile app, this is so confusing.

4. Using address(es) to sign a message. There are many wallets that can not do that, an example of wallet that can not sign a message is atomic wallets. Many other wallets can not also sign a message.

Actually these mobile wallet dont have those featured except mycelium. Last time Im looking for a bitcoin wallet that can signed message but most of them dont support it. Only mycelium can do this as far as I know. But I think its easier to use a laptop version or web wallet for this to make sure you can do that.
Also, coinomi is a mobile wallet that can sign  message(es). But coinomi is a close source, as some people do not like close source wallets. But, it can be used.

The bitcoin lightning network fee is very low, it can be as low as 0.000001 satoshi ($0.000000000100517) as an average fee.

But, payment is also required for setting up and closing of a channel. Like on electrum wallet, you can customize/edit the fee. It is the same as the fee used for on-chain transactions which is subjected to memorypool size.

Lightning network fee for bitcoin is so small.
