Well back to the numbers even with price faltering to 50-52k from 60's a while back we are adding gear.
The numbers below indicate a  large mine is being fired up and or upgraded.

A 6% jump is over 10eh or

10 s19 = 1ph
1000 s19 = 1eh
10000 s19 = 10eh

so 10000 s19's were added even though prices are meh.

If you study the 2018 trend of prices dropping and gear rising this jump needs to be followed up with a ton more gear added. We are yet to see if this is a single large jump or we have a trend. I.e. bitmain and others finally got a lot of chips to build.

look at dec 2017 to Oct 2018 the fear is this is going to happen 1.5 to 7.3  diff move was the catch up to the large price moves.

Now boys to Open your Eyes alittle (Srysly doubt it). The Mining Grid used currently is using more power than every city in the world combined and multiply that by 2. That is the source of energy getting pricier. Therefore we deemed "crypto" unnecessary for survival of the species and will be shut down by 2025 on all fronts.

Believe it or not.

Troll this is so wrong it is sad dude.

The entire bitcoin network is 180 eh if it is at 50 watts a th it is using about 9000 megawatts

NYC uses 8000 megawatts

https://www1.nyc.gov/site/sustainability/our-programs/energy.page

so you post is a joke.

@philipma1957

I just got 5 pieces of HP NVIDIA RTX A2000 6 GB GDDR6 Blower (MFG part number 340L0AA) and 2 AMD W6600 Pro cards.

Running HIVEOS, TRM (AMD), TBM (NVidia). So far no luck with OC with W6600 (I assume 30MHs would be max with these?)

They are exactly the same as PNY "retail" versions. I have one PNY and 3 HPs in our heating via mining prototype. I started this project just for fun, further development depends how looming ETH POS affects financials.

my w6600 sucks. I run it with a threadripper and mine a cpu coin with the threadripper.

the w6600 does need more drivers

the pny a2000 cost me 528 and does 41 mh at 65 -70 watts
two cost 1056 and do 82 mh at about 130-135 watts
the a4000 cost me 1250-1299 do 58mh at 118 watts

i dont worry that they are 6gb

2017 forecast - with explanation of how post-Gox played out

2020 Revised forecast - with explanation of how each ATH must retest previous before next rally can begin.

Tether BS in FT - once a purview of cryptobloggers and niche sites, the overwhelming stench of alleged Tether fraud is now mainstream news.

BTC *will* retest ~1150 - timeframe is totally unpredictable because it depends on what unfolds in Florida, COPA, Wright vs Bitcoin devs, what happens with Tether and what the SEC decides about whether a coin that has a raise on promise of profit and is pre-mined constitutes a security. ETH clearly, air dropped Bitcoin... maybe.

You love to hate it, but you can't ignore it forever.

First off my apologies for post on another thread.

internet sucks. I realized I read your post wrong and deleted my part of the post directed to you. We then cross posted.

This prediction is interesting. We both see a drop coming but your position is we hit the peak at 68 or 69 k correct?

Figures as I boasted 70k in May was certain to happen and here we are 8 months later and maybe had our cycle high according to your guess.

Well lets hope you are way off and we streak upwards soon way past 100k.

I suspect we will move in a 40-70k slot for months to come. While difficulty meanders upwards for months to come.

Time will tell.

I am confused as to the time left
LoyceV will announce the winner when he is awake, guessing he is sleeping by now. Or maybe I am getting it wrong, but I think CET correspond to GMT +1.

oh I thought it was utc

231. $47,777 bitebits
232. $48,999 DdmrDdmr
233. $50,000 JanEmil
234. $51,000 Mbitr
235. $52,000 shahzadafzal

so if that is the case the price point was about 26 minutes ago

maybe 50 943 but I certainly am merely guessing

Maybe Mbitr won.

Let us know loycev

BTC never fails to amaze! a few minutes later and now it seems like JanEmil with 50k prediction is closer to winning against DdmrDdmr, 50 mins to go, anyone within 1-2k range from here can still win.

which means 38 minutes left.

To the winner whomever it is good luck.

Looks like a number of pools in China are having problems.

That makes me feel better, knowing its not just Viabtc,

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5373202.0

Did ViaBTC ever start working again?  I moved my miners to F2Pool after they were down for 2 days.

They work fine and were never fully down.
8072  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Is GPU mining really dying? on: December 06, 2021, 04:56:40 AM
As long as Eth mining will continue meaning as long as Eth will not go Pos,GPU mining is not going to die,in fact the prices of GPU-s if you check local or international marketplaces are really high. However in this time when the difficulty of mining Eth is 11.5 P and a 500 Mhsh rig can just do like 30-35 dollars a day is not what it used to be and the profit is slowly going down day by day although it still remains the most profitable coin to mine.

I personally do not believe much in PoS as it has already been said here what is the value behind that,I don't see any real value and you need a large amount of ETH to be staked in order to have a saying how the coin will develop further.I will just keep mining the hell out of Eth and if it ever goes PoS there is RVN,ERGO and ETC as the next best thing to mine so GPU mining can be considered far from dead.
Last time I counted, Ethereum mining had 60 times more GPUs than RVN mining. The situation is similar for other coins. If 1/3 of the Ethereum equipment will mine other coins, then the profit there will be minimal, like in 2019.
What will the other 2/3 video cards do?

You have to be very careful here, people don't like to hear the truth.

Yeah and what will Nvidia and AMD do if ⅔ of the miners sell cards on the cheap at ebay reddit craigs list etc?

they will either talk to mr v and tell him to delay pos or they will launch 🚀  a coin to be mined.

now you are correct if eth does go pos and amd and nvidia dont support a new coin

and I would be correct if mr v is pressured into keeping pow alive. or a new coin comes a long.

how about etc gets pumped bigly.

do the math what does it take to pump etc and dump on eth.

Only good thing about recent action is that I can at least say my aim wasnt completely off, BTC does have this habit of returning to mean.  Its passed through my guess and recovered back up some and might continue to do so, the probability of it rolling right upto my doorstep on the precise day for this thread is low but I was in the rough region anyhow :p   45603 is a Fib level I have drawn in and though we traded lower it was brief only and think this level is the point to watch.   I doubt I have drawn the graph exactly but the 50 week average is slow enough to be predictable in this area at this time.

well i like your chances better then mine
 Grin

you did well.

what are about 24 hours away ?

6 pm eastern standard the 6th

is the same as 12 midnight the 7th or am i an hour off?

I think that if you are talking about the translation of midnight (UTC) to eastern time, then you would be talking about 7pm on the 6th, not 6pm, which is about 20.5 hours away as I type this post.... NOT much time left, as you mentioned.. and sure it is a bit of a strange time to have the contest end.. ... in terms of about 24 hours after the close of this week's weekly candle.. but hey, whatever.. any day is going to have its potential particularities.. and sometimes we will see a lot of price movement right after (or even leading up to) the close of a weekly candle.. but nothing BIG so far.,. and gosh $20k movement in less than 24 hours would be something of interest.. if it were to happen.. not impossible.. but surely would be amazing, and I doubt anyone who holds much of any BTC would complain if you were to win under those kinds of crazy-ass outrageous and so far unprecedented circumstances.

I always get a bit confused when daylight savings kicks in never sure how other places count or dont count it and if it applies to the time zone or the country in the time zone.

I suspect the country in the time zone can say fuck it but the time zone stays the same.

well 49 k last I looked

DdmrDdmr has 48999
8074  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Why use a PPS pool when there are large PPLNS pools? on: December 06, 2021, 03:33:39 AM
Some small home miners don't have their miners on 24/7 and the ramp up and down can kill your profits.

That would just increase variance, not kill profits in the long run. Large enough pool and it is not an issue.

Have you ever had back to back 99.9% cdf blocks on a pplns pool?
Have you ever had 80% blocks for a month?

I have done both.

I have been on pools that should hit 100 blocks in a month and they hit 80

I have been on pools that should hit a block a day and they hit 2 blocks in 20 days.

Again, large enough pool, and not really an issue.

Getting 80 instead of 100 in a month is a once in 4 years kind of occurrence.

1 Block a day is a lot different than 18 a day, but if you expected 20 blocks and only got 2 or fewer in a given time period, that is a 1 in 2,195,318 chance event. Probably more likely that the pool software was screwing up....

there were at least two proven witholding issues.

btcguild was attacked or accidentally with held
slush was attacked or accidentally with held

when bitminter got back to back 99.9% cdf which occurred in a string of 10 blocks that had 7 90%+ cdf blocks I quit them.

lastly kanos pool was god like first 1000 blocks ungodly good then the wheel fell off.

So I mine on viabtc and on mmpool .

If you check mmpool they had a four year drought and then popped 3 blocks in three months.
I picked up over 1.3 btc with just about a single s9 mining for the four years.

Ie under 1 trillion shares got me the 1.3 btc should have been 1/6 of 22 trillion which is 3.67 trillion shares

so i should have earned under .4 btc I also got the value of hodling without hodling as coins were 4k on 9/11/2017

and were an average of 50k for the 1.3 btc

may as well ask why dont more do what I did with mmpool.

ie act as a remora to a great white shark.

so the extra .9 btc makes up for the fees and certainty on viabtc.

btw you can do this with kanos pool and if you get hot you make out pretty well.

I would argue playing 20th to 40th on mmpool and 1000 th on viabtc is better than any other two pools in the time range of
9/11/2017 to 12/05/2021

The people of the U.S. have struck a bargain with Satan where a special area in hell has been reserved just for them.

As they have achieved their end of the deal by committing more evil than any other peoples throughout history, the vast majority of Americans will enjoy a slightly cooler area in the fire-pit where they will burn eternally.

Sad so sad you think that.

You do realize that broadly judging 330 million different people of all races creeds and beliefs is pretty much certain to have you placed in hell. If there is a hell.

I will pray for you that you come to believe that damning 330 million people is not for your pay scale.

Or mine.

I've been on here for several years. I made a second account after no longer having access to the previous account.
Have you tried regaining access to your old account? If not: follow the instructions in Recovering hacked/lost accounts.

When I try to send a message I get the following: "The last posting from your IP was less than 360 seconds ago. Please try again later. The thing you were trying to post was saved as a draft. This limit decreases substantially as your account becomes more established." It's becoming frustrating, and it's really unnecessary to discuss a private conversation under a public topic.
What's really going to get you is that you can only send 2 PMs per day, with at least an hour in between. Those 360 seconds are not even the main restriction. Getting whitelisted will solve that, but those anti-spam restrictions were put in place for a reason, so I need a bit more to convince me you're not a spammer before I can whitelist you.

That's newbie restriction and mods cannot change that for you
That's incorrect. Mods can whitelist users.

The issue was it was either on an old college or Red Bull email, neither of which I have access to anymore, that would have been around 2014 (last year of college) when I was trying to access about 150 bitcoin that, unfortunately was lost during the learning process. Like many, I had bitcoin before realizing the full potential of it. A member here disappeared from another board due to a mod that has always had it out for him, and I logged back on here with a new account I made a couple months ago to see what was going on. It’s not a huge deal, but I was trying to resolve the issue. I did wait out 360 seconds, but it’s the same issue. Perhaps an issue with the browser or vpn being used.

You are polite and able to handle this civilly I gave you a merit.

If you continue to post you will rank up.

Your newbie status will be ended and you will be a junior member.

Most likely you are not a troll 😈 so good luck with your posting.

All pplns pools are subject to witholding attacks.

and pps pays and pays and pays and pays.

One can argue viabtc grabs too much in fees for certainty  of payment.

But I also get a few referrals and that kind of fixes the issue.

Ideally I guess a USA based pplns pool would work, but I am simply not a big enough player.

Say 2eh of hash and I could try to just solo mine

So like a year ago the 52 cards were auctioned and I think the jokers were given via a contest.

I managed to get a 6 and a 10.

I wonder if anyone would want to trade me a 10 for the 6 or a 6 for the 10

I want to say I have the 6 of spades and the 10 of hearts but I need to check the safety box on monday.

I am USA based if you want to trade straight up swap I will spring for shipping of your card to me.

Let me get back with my suits. Since I am simply looking to pair up I do not care about the suit of your 6 or your 10.

I am considered pretty much perfect as an escrow so if I know you and trust you I will send first. But if I don't know you I will ask you to send first.

I realize all sixes and all tens could be overseas so it may not be worth doing but I thought I could ask.
