8081  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: For your ready reference on mobile phone/device bitcoin wallet on: September 13, 2020, 03:20:19 AM

4. Using address(es) to sign a message. There are many wallets that can not do that, an example of wallet that can not sign a message is atomic wallets. Many other wallets can not also sign a message.

Actually these mobile wallet dont have those featured except mycelium. Last time Im looking for a bitcoin wallet that can signed message but most of them dont support it. Only mycelium can do this as far as I know. But I think its easier to use a laptop version or web wallet for this to make sure you can do that.
Also, coinomi is a mobile wallet that can sign  message(es). But coinomi is a close source, as some people do not like close source wallets. But, it can be used.
8082  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Start Using the BitCoin Lightning Network! on: September 13, 2020, 02:44:57 AM
The bitcoin lightning network fee is very low, it can be as low as 0.000001 satoshi ($0.000000000100517) as an average fee.

https://1ml.com/statistics

But, payment is also required for setting up and closing of a channel. Like on electrum wallet, you can customize/edit the fee. It is the same as the fee used for on-chain transactions which is subjected to memorypool size.

Lightning network fee for bitcoin is so small.
8083  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: For your ready reference on mobile phone/device bitcoin wallet on: September 13, 2020, 02:15:30 AM
Normally, there are good mobile wallets but out of all mentioned I prefer only few. I prefer electrum, mycelium nd ledger nano x, it is worth mentioning that ledger nano x is a hardware wallet but having the means of connecting with phones ledger live. I can still like some other ones like coinomi and atomic wallet which some people may not like due to one reasons or the other which the OP did not mention.

I expect certain contents in this writeup, such as:
1. Difference between custodial and noncustodial wallets. Like me, I can not use a wallet that private me with no private key, a wallet that is called custodial which are API key wallet in which another party manage the private key. Only novices and newbies are the ones using custodial wallet, noncustodial wallets are used by people that does not know the worth of a private key. For example, many people have in one time or another send tether to bitcoin address, this is what can be retrievable on noncustodail wallets but custodail wallet that provide people with no private key can not retrieve that kind of coins unless you contact the another party, but coins are lost is this way. About security, you manage your keys yourselves on noncustodial which just mean you are the one controlling your funds. You need to differentiate between custodial and noncustodial wallets.

2. The source code of a wallet. Is it open source or close source? People believe the source code available to the public/community (open source) are more secure and of which is true. You need to different the open source wallets from close source wallets.

3. About the issue of kyc. Kyc is extremely dangerous, you need to emphasize on this. Kyc wallets called custodial wallets are not advisable at all. Also, any wallet that support email is not advisable because email is online unlike the BIP39 seed phrase that can be successfully stored offline.

4. Using address(es) to sign a message. There are many wallets that can not do that, an example of wallet that can not sign a message is atomic wallets. Many other wallets can not also sign a message.
8084  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Cloud Mining Offering And How To Identify Scam[HELP] on: September 12, 2020, 03:25:16 PM
Normally, aside this cloud mining mentioned here, cloud mining sites generally are completely fake/scam, it is not surprising any longer that scammers like cloud miners are having legit domain that could have been existing for long time. But the fact still remain, cloud mining sites are using certain type of ponzi of certain grade to decoy people to invest into their scam businesses. Out of 100% cloud mining sites, 95% or more are completely scam, all they want is to scam people. Some are not even ponzi but completely scam.

The rest which are 5% that are legit, not that they are still legit, they too are using ponzi means and possibly resulting to scam, bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies being mined are not having stable prices, but these cloud mining sites are having stable rewards, how is that possible. No cloud mining site is legit in short.

Also, about the one the OP is asking about, I do not think someone should even do any research about any kind of cloud mining, because they are promising the profits they can not fulfill, if they fulfill it today, they will not fulfill it tomorrow in a way investors will still lose. Just know that cloud mining sites should be avoided. Else, you are playing with scammers that will strip you off your bitcoin.
8085  Other / Politics & Society / Recent useful information on Covid-19 Vaccines on: September 12, 2020, 08:00:41 AM
I will like you people to read this and know the latests about Covid-19 vaccines. It contain information about:
1. Who will get the vaccine first
2. How soon can we expect a coronavirus vaccine?
3. Preventing vaccine nationalism
4. global vaccine task force
5. How much will it cost?
6. How do you distribute a global vaccine?

5. How much will it cost?
While billions of dollars are being invested in vaccine development, millions more are being pledged to buy and supply the vaccine. Prices per dose depend on the type of vaccine, the manufacturer and the number of doses ordered. Pharmaceutical company Moderna, for example, is reportedly selling access to its potential vaccine at between $32 and $37 a dose (£24 to £28). AstraZeneca, on the other hand has said it will supply its vaccine "at cost" - or a few dollars per dose - during the pandemic. The Serum Institute of India (SSI), the world's largest vaccine manufacturer by volume, is being backed by $150m from Gavi and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to make and deliver up to 100 million doses of the successful Covid-19 vaccines for India and low- and middle-income countries. They say the ceiling price will be $3 (£2.28) a dose. But patients receiving the vaccine are unlikely to be charged in most cases. In the UK, mass distribution will be via the NHS health service. Student doctors and nurses, dentists and vets could be trained to back up existing NHS staff in administering the jab en masse. Consultation is currently under way. Other countries, such as Australia, have said they will offer free doses to their population. People receiving vaccines via humanitarian organisations - a vital cog in the global distribution wheel - will not be charged. In the US, while the shot might be free, healthcare professionals could charge for administering the jab - leaving uninsured Americans possibly facing a vaccine bill.

If you go through the whole news, you will see it very interesting.

8086  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Brave add PhishFort to help prevent phishing attacks on their browsers. on: September 12, 2020, 06:51:49 AM
People use it because of they give away BAT to their users but users have to do KYC to get BAT. Not good.
To be truthful, I am using brave. Although I have all its rewards and normal ads all disabled, I have used many browsers that can disable ads but brave has been the most perfect for me. It does not consume data like Chrome, Edge, Firefox and many other browsers I have been using. This makes me stick to it. But, I do noticed people commeting the broswer is not perfect enough, does it have any security vulnerability? Or can we have little more of comments why brave browser is not actually good.

Although, about the issue of kyc, I can never do any kyc. But, it is not a must that someone have to collect the BAT reward which makes no kyc needed for anything.

I hate ads so much because many of them can actually be from hackers attempting to use it for phishing attack, even to an extent some having no secure connection and directing someone to malware sites, but I used brave to block this effectively.

I am not implying the browser to be good but what makes it bad if truly bad?
8087  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Eterbase Exchange Hacked, Don't Leave Your Funds on Any Exchange! on: September 11, 2020, 12:41:16 PM
I read about the hacked like one or two days ago. Normally, we all know that these exchanges are often hacked, over 90 exchanges have been hacked since 201 2011. Exchanges that are often hacked this way are custodial exchanges. People are always advised not to leave their bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies on exchanges, not because of any other thing,  but because of the hackers. We can take all precausions to make sure no hackers try to hack our exchange account, but this is not the case because the exchange is hacked due to vulnerabilities from the exchange itself.

Normally, traders still need to make use of wallets, but if they want to trade, they can send the money from the wallet to an exchange account, all precautions must be taking for hackers not to double-cross. And after exchanging, you can send your cryptocurrency back to your wallet. Although, many traders are not bothered about this, but these is whales strategy which is the best but may not be convenient.

Our wallet is what we can only trust, it must also be a noncustodial wallet that has private keys. Hardware wallet that store the private key offline is the safest of all that can still be easy as an offline wallet.

But one thing about the Eterbase exchange hack is that the company says they have more funds to refund their affected customers. The exchange seem healthy as of present but under maintaince.
8088  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Perfect Money safe to store big money or not ? on: September 11, 2020, 12:04:42 PM
im not sure if we can trust in hardware wallet devs they can scam investors at any time especially if bitcoin price go higher
There are reputed hardware wallet companies like the Trezor and the Ledger nano, you do not have anything to worry about, just get the wallet directly from such company, you can get ledger nano s which is my best with as low as $60. About the price of bitcoin getting higher or lower, you do not have to worry. You can get a stable coin like TrueUSD and store in on the hardware wallet. Make sure the wallet is new and with sticker used to seal its pack. Stable coins prices are stable and most of them are equal to dollars. Meaning, 1 TUSD is equals to 1 dollar. Even if the price have slight changes, it will be in a way you will not lose. For me, I can not suggest you go use perfectmoney for such amount, storing it yourself is the best. Perfect money can be subjected to new laws and regulations, the money is also online. Hackers are able to attack people with high amount through their phishing ways of attacking. Having the money with a private key offline is the best imo.
8089  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: For your ready reference on phishing! on: September 11, 2020, 08:53:24 AM
This is a good article, but I want to first emphaze little more about malware, there are many types with different functions. The viruses are rear but can collapse devices, which makes them deadly, the worms can spread like the virus and can be used in phishing attacks, there are some bugs that can steal authentication codes, many hackers used it to reveal datas on victims devices that download an app they intended for phishing attack, there is another malware called bots, many bots leads to botnents which are used in denial of service attack, the keyloggers are spyware which spy the activities of victim on their devices. There are main two other ones I have not even mentioned which are used in stealing information from victims computers, they can be used to know anything saved on the device that is related to wallet, exchange accounts, banking details and other such information, they can also be used to reveal two factor authentication codes. They are trojan horse and rootkits. Hackers are now using this malware in phishing that can result to more malware that can be installed on computers, leading to severe losses like stealing of bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies from wallets and exchange accounts, also steal of money from banks.

That is why it is said to be good to avoid this deadly malware by practicing safe browsing. Like me, I do not use my wallet device for social activities, I do not even use it to browse, I used it online only for wallet, exchange and banking purposes.

About the issue of fake giveaways, we have to be careful. Recently, there are even celebrities social media accounts that were hacked with the use of malware, using the celebrities accounts to lure people into fake giveaways, anyone can fall victim. That is why it is good to neglect many of these giveaways that seem to be false than true.

We should be careful of the site we visit, be careful on social media, and we should avoid clicking on links and ads we do not authorize for, also on email messages.

8090  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to get the best out of the forum on: September 11, 2020, 05:16:02 AM
If making the best out of this forum is what you want, it will be good to know more about bitcoin, it will really help you, also know about altcoins is a way to be better, there are many other boards that can also interests you as well. Reading daily, having more knowledge and the checking the way established members are posting are very important. You may know the right thing to communicate, but if not communicated well, appropriately and authentically, people may see it as a shit way of posting. Check posts that are merited is the first thing you need.

You need to have ambition and your ambition must be backed by determination, you need to post qualitatively in a way that will impress people (establish members), if the way of your posting and what you are posting is authentic, then you will have people that will like to read what you are posting because they will know you for posting quality contents. Making proper research and launching topics as a newbie will help.

Like others have commented above, on this forum, we have our rules, you must follow the rules in order to avoid been banned. Especially, do not spam nor plagiarize because ban is the punishment. Also read all the rules in details one by one.

There are few things you may need to research about to make this forum easy for you. These are some below:
1. Mining, know about halving in relation to blocks and block rewards
2. Wallets, custodial and noncustodial. The reason why noncustodial are the best and safest
3. Exchanges, and how often they are hacked.
4. Learning about signature campaigns and bounties, but if you check this forum very well, you will be able to understand little for now in services board for bitcoin and bounties board for altcoins.
5. Also, you need to know about scamming, not to scam people but to avoid how to be scammed. There are many scam related threads on this forum, many established memebers of this forum like people posting about recent scams.

Lastly, is the issue of correction, do not try to argue with established members, what I have noticed is that they know more than you can possibly imagine for now, if they correct you, it can pain you, but just accept and correct yourself. If you are ranking up, they will always be your best friends on the forum, helping you in the process.

You are welcome to Bitcointalk forum.
8091  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Have you lost btc at some point of the time ? What is your story on: September 10, 2020, 08:56:50 PM
I know about bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies 11 months ago, it was a great achievement for me, all the money I have ever made in my life are from cryptocurrencies. 100% of the money are made from bitcoin businesses. But, during the money making process, I made few mistakes too and this made me lose some amount of money (cryptocurrencies).

The first mistake I made was when I traded bitcoin for a shitcoin on an exchange, promising 10% daily profit, not knowing it was a scam. I remembered I invested $42 on the coins, I invested it for a month. After a month, I lost and cash out $18 as the whole total. This was a big loss on my side.

The second mistake was still on another exchange, I bought a coin at $50, the price of the coin later falled more than 12x. The coin was later delisted on the exchange.

My third mistake was when I wanted to buy a shitcoin on an exchange, Instead to have used tether, doge or low value coin to have traded it, I used bitcoin, my $50 worth of bitcoin turned to less than $0.005 worth of bitcoin immediately after the trading.

The forth scam would have been from bitcoin generator scam, it would have actually be the first scam, I just started to know about cryptocurrencies that time, 11 months ago. I registered on one pay-to-click site to earn around 8 satoshi per each click, directing me to another site per each click, I was later directed to a bitcoin generator site. In less than 30 seconds, the site displayed it is mining bitcoin for me, it later displayed 0.005 btc have been mined, that I should pay 0.002 btc to a certain given bitcoin address. But thank God, I have no money nor bitcoin at the time. But, if I have bitcoin, I would have fallen for the scam.

I still have many other scam experiences but these are the ones I remembered.
8092  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hackers Are Trying To Break Into This Bitcoin Wallet Holding $690 Million on: September 10, 2020, 12:17:32 PM
I read about this on cointelegraph few days ago, the wallet could be real. But, it is now related to the fact that without knowing the private key of a wallet, that brute-forcing can only be a waste of time as no one can brute-force a wallet private key for now. Also, on the new, it is said that although it may be impossible to break through the wallet for now but possibly quantum computer with advance features will be able to break through in a way the private key will be revealed. Now that a recent quantum computer is used to calculate what can not be calculated in 10 years in just three minutes, this makes quantum computer to be a topic of discussion in relationship to bitcoin.
8093  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Emotet Warning: Japan France and New Zealand issued Bulletin on: September 10, 2020, 12:06:39 PM
We have really discussed about phishing attack on this forum several times but it is worth to be discussed about anytime we noticed any form of malware. According to your comment above, the malware is embedded on email which means it is phishing email scam. It is worthy to know that we should never click on any emails we do not authorize for, be it scam or legit. That alone is 100% effective against such malware attack.
8094  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Twetch: Blockchain-based Twitter, encyrpted with BTC private key, Or it is? on: September 10, 2020, 11:04:12 AM
Quote
is a fully encrypted messaging platform that allows its users to chat privately with anybody on Twetch. Twetch Chat is encrypted using Bitcoin, AES, and ECIES. Chats are encrypted using your Bitcoin private keys and are private and only accessible to you and those you permit.
I still do not get this, what is a message platform doing with private keys used to encrypt messages from users to users, private keys are supposed to be offline, or that supposed not to leave users devices. I think this is wrong and people should avoid such services before they are scammed. Although, I do not know how this works but we better maintain the old ways of protecting our private keys.
8095  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: #WARNING!!! Beware of this activities on Instagram. Don't fall victim. on: September 10, 2020, 09:29:41 AM
I dont think there are still people who believes in this scams.  People are now educated, they wont fall on that simpliest form of scamming.
There are many uneducated people in the world. Also, because some people are educated does not mean they can not fall for scam, any person can be a scam victim. Because you are educated does not mean you are specifically educated about scam. Not pointing to you but just as an example. No matter what, people will always still be scammed due to ignorance, lack of knowlege, greed and impatience.

In forex, you deal with brokers. In crypto, we call ours exchanges. If you want to trade in exchanges that accept no kyc, i will suggest you

The table is broken if I keep orignal texts. Hence, I changed original texts to shorter ones. I hope that the changes don't make anything wrong for the table.

8097  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Insensitivity in analyzing/reading scam/problem on: September 10, 2020, 09:02:13 AM
Anyone can still be scammed, that is why we need to remain sensitive to our environments, be it local community, online and international communities. We should not trust anyone but only ourselves. About your friend experience, it is very common in my country as well, especially when buying phones. I knew a friend that thought he bought a phone but on getting home, he saw local food inside it. But, I noticed this happens when you are buying phone in an open areas. People do buy phones in open market because their price can be cheap but it is where sellers do scam rich people.

That is why it is good to look for a legit company selling all these type of products, and not that their prices are not also affordable. It is free of scam compared to such open market.
8098  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: #WARNING!!! Beware of this activities on Instagram. Don't fall victim. on: September 10, 2020, 07:54:12 AM
Even, this is not only on social media, it can be everywhere. ICO had become scam since 2017. Out of 100% ICO, over 75% or more are scam, real scam. Out of the remaining 30%, 25% or more are failed projects, some are even wolf of wall street which are completely pump projects that will easily be dumped by the people/scammers that set it up. So, normally, ICO is not what we can advice someone to invest on as 95% of it or more are scam, not to talk of social media ones which are 100% scam.
8099  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What is coronavirus or COVID-19? on: September 10, 2020, 07:46:05 AM
You are right about your findings, the covid-19 type could even be a scientific manipulation. Normally, I have know coronavirus many years back, it is truly a disease but not a threat like this. In the past, we have not noticed any disease that were not very deadly before and becoming deadly like coronavirus.

I read this today on bbc news.

1. India overtakes Brazil in the number of infections recorded, and is now second only to the US
2. India recorded more than 90,000 new cases of Covid-19 in the past 24 hours
3. The UK could see a second wave if young people don't follow social distancing rules, health secretary says
7. Globally more than 27 million cases and 883,000 deaths have been confirmed, according to Johns Hopkins University

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/world-54053588

Please, let us stay healthy, use face mask and hand sernitizers during this pandemic. Avoidance is better than cure.

The virus is now lethal, I do not think the recent ones called covid-19 is naturally mutated. Corona virus was not a deadly disease like this before.
8100  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: KryptoCibule, a Windows malware triple threat for cryptocurrency users on: September 10, 2020, 07:28:41 AM
Don't attach too much faith to antivirus updates
You are right about this, you really explained this in a clearly. That is why it is very possible some malware would have acted and steal before antimalware companies will even do anything about it. That is why I like recommding the complete avoidance of malware. There are many safety measure we can completely avoid them. For example, it is good for someone not to use his wallet device for downloading any file than the apps he uses to operate his exchange account, wallet, banking and other related sensitive apps.

So pro-tip: I absolutely do not condone piracy, but if you see a Windows program that is really tiny, a few hundred kilobytes or 1 or 2 megabytes large, when you're looking for some pirated stuff to download, don't download it! By conventional rule, all pirated programs are distributed in .RAR files or really large Windows programs. And if you're looking for a movie or TV show, but you get a Windows program instead, that is definitely malware. You are supposed to directly receive the media file.
Truly, all these malware files are usually of small memory, this even aid them to easy become installed on victims devices, but about the issue of removing them before installation, it may be impossible for all/most malware. They are often installed unknowingly. Some malware are easily detected but many can not be detected. I will still recommend the old fashion way to just not use the device you use for wallet for downloading all this files even the legit files.

Although, after some malware are installed, some can still be deleted by experts, or by renaming them which will make them inactive and useless, but not all malware work this way. There are some malware now that are called fileless malware, they are used in a way no memory is used, the malware is still new and maybe under development which could later pose a threat to people.
