8101  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Blockchain.com Phishing Attempt on: September 09, 2020, 04:14:27 AM
When they do phishing attacks, they will have links to direct to their phishing sites. If they don't include phishing links, why do they send people such emails? OP can answer and give more details. When OP does it, please add phishing link with code (people don't click on phishing link with code line)
OP may decided not to bother about the phishing link, as you can see from the above short link that stated 'reclaim airdrop', that is a short link (phishing link). In this case, the phishing link is not that necessary to be known because may novice will only decide to click on the short link which can contain malware, or link to a malicious site or other possible scam means. We should just know that we should not click on any email links we do not authorize for.
8102  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Recent summary about corovirus disease on: September 08, 2020, 08:54:09 PM
Why don't they ever tell you how many people have gained natural immunity.

OK, I guess the answer is obvious.
You are right about this. From what I know, so far a vaccine is created from a virus (adenovirus) that resemble coronavirus, with the vaccine that had undergone the second phase. Although, I am not implying the vaccine is accurate. But, that so far it is a vaccine, then it is obvious that anyone that the virus had infected and were able to recover have the immunity against the virus. Because, their body immune system had already developed the natural immunity.

Also, it is worthy to know that this virus is killing people with co-morbidity(s). The immune system of people that are healthy is able to fight the disease, and also in the process, they developed natural immunity against the it.

I think it will be better to move this politics and society.

Know that because your country is free from covid-19 does not mean all countries are free from covid 19. Hope you are watching the latest news, there is rise of the virus in India, UK and many other countries. There are many countries that still make sure many of their citizens are yet not working but maintain social distance. The pandemic no over yet.

Although, we all know no food for a lazy man. All we wish is for the virus to die down in all countries of the world so that things can go back to normal.

You can lock this topic. All already discussed in the topic below. Also know that there is no corona virus vaccine that had undergone the third phase, no coronavirus vaccine yet approved.

8105  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What does the Lightning Network need to become mainstream? on: September 08, 2020, 01:33:14 PM
It's time to set the deadline date for Ln. Then forget about this project and started moving forward. We have already lost 5 years in development.
I think you should read the quote below. And also recently this year, the famous electrum wallet support lightning network, with time, all other common wallets will support lightning network. At least, its adoption is growing gradually.

Unfortunately, the Lightning Network is not as mainstream as you might think. Although its adoption is growing gradually, it’s been found that there are currently more WBTC locked in the Ethereum network compared to BTC in the Lightning Network
8106  Other / Off-topic / Re: How to maintain your good health? on: September 08, 2020, 01:09:38 PM
What is the difference between 'take an exercise break' and 'train your muscle'?

Secondly, you did not mention taking launch and dinner? Those two can not be excluded.

Also, your article is too short, but, although contain useful information. I also expect you to really specify on taking fruits which is a requisite to a healthy leaving.

Advise: If Africa and indeed West Africa moves away from corruption, more progress will be achieved.
The problem African countries are having is more than corruption, although, with act of love will lessen corruptio, possibly things could be better, but many other criteria must be involved. Initiating another thinking mindsets is a requisite, when are Africans will stop depending on whites, they like depending on whites. The whites are producing but Africans are buying, they do not want to create anything of their own, if they even make one, it can be inferior. Cars, ships, aeroplanes and many others like computers and smartphones are not being produced from Africa. Then, do not expect anything good yet from Africa until they believe they can do all these and started making steps towards producing companies. These have to be started by African governments which will make it almost impossible.
8108  Other / Politics & Society / Argentina’s borders shot down by ransomware hacker. Demand $4 million. on: September 08, 2020, 08:21:06 AM
According to a Sept. 6 report on Bleeping Computer, a group of Netwalker ransomware hackers breached Argentina's immigration agency, Dirección Nacional de Migraciones, on Aug. 27 and initially demanded a $2 million payment to restore its servers.

"Your files are encrypted,” stated a ransom note on a Tor payment page sent to the immigration agency. “Only way to decrypt your files is [sic] buy the decrypter program.”

The group posted a select batch of sensitive data from the agency as proof it was the one responsible for the hack. After a week, the actors increased the ransom to a 355.8718 Bitcoin (BTC) payment — roughly $4 million at the time.

Argentinian news outlet Infobae reported that the attack effectively halted all border crossings into and out of the country for four hours. During the shutdown, authorities took all computer networks used by immigration officials at regional offices and checkpoints offline. Government officials reportedly said "they will not negotiate with hackers” and are not concerned with retrieving the stolen data.

Although ransomware hackers are not restricted by borders, the situation in Argentina is a rare example of a cyberattack affecting a national government agency.

8109  Other / Politics & Society / Trump and Biden trading insults. Early vaccine adoption could be dangerous. on: September 08, 2020, 07:27:04 AM
I hope we will find this from BBC new interesting

BBC News - Presidential rivals Trump and Biden spar over Covid-19 vaccine
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/election-us-2020-54066852

President Trump again hinted that a vaccine might be available before the November presidential election and accused his Democratic rivals of "reckless anti-vaccine rhetoric". Mr Biden expressed scepticism that Mr Trump would listen to the scientists and implement a transparent process. The US has six million cases of coronavirus, the highest in the world. The virus has also claimed nearly 190,000 lives and fuelled a major recession, double-digit unemployment and sagging consumer confidence.

Last week it emerged the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) had urged states to consider "waiving requirements" in order to be able distribute a vaccine by 1 November - two days before the 3 November election.

No vaccine has yet completed clinical trials, leading some scientists to fear politics rather than health and safety is driving the push for a vaccine.

Both Mr Biden and his running mate Kamala Harris have questioned the president's credibility on the issue. Ms Harris said on Sunday she would not trust Mr Trump's word that a vaccine was safe, and Mr Biden also questioned whether the wider public would trust him too. He has said so many things that aren't true I am worrie that if we do have a really good vaccine people are going to be reluctant to take it," Mr Biden said in Pennsylvania on Monday, Labour Day. But he added that: "If I could get a vaccine tomorrow, I'd do it. If it cost me the election I would do it. We need a vaccine and we need it now. We have to listen to the scientists."

Mr Trump, who is trailing in the polls, hit back at a White House news conference, calling Mr Biden "stupid" and Ms Harris "the most liberal person in Congress... not a competent person in my opinion". He said they "would destroy this country and would destroy this economy", and added that they "should immediately apologise for the reckless anti-vaccine rhetoric that they are talking right now". The president, at times asking journalists to take off their face masks when asking questions, again suggested a vaccine could be ready next month. "We're going to have a vaccine very soon, maybe even before a very special date." Mr Trump wants to have 300 million doses of a coronavirus vaccine in stock by January, and has spent hundreds of billions of dollars in the hope of speeding up the development of a vaccine which in ordinary circumstances could take years.

The US top infectious diseases expert, Dr Anthony Fauci, has said that it is unlikely but "not impossible" that a vaccine could win approval in October, and Stephen Hahn of the Food and Drug Administration said it might be "appropriate" to approve a vaccine before clinical trials are complete if the benefits outweighed the risks. But both scientists, the White House and the executives of five top pharmaceutical companies have made clear there will be no compromises on safety and effectiveness of a vaccine.

Three vaccine trials in the US are in their final stages - each involving 30,000 people who will get shots, three weeks apart, and will then be monitored for coronavirus infections and side effects for anywhere from a week to two years, the Associated Press reports.

Hope Trump is not acting to fast about Covid-19 vaccine adoption?
8110  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Atomic wallet's phishing website is being promoting in google's ads. on: September 07, 2020, 09:56:52 PM
If you search on Google to find atomic wallet, the first result you will get is this phishing website. Then the newcomers here may think the website is real which can have bad results. I am giving the search result here, you can try it yourself also.
I googled search it, I was unable to see it, but I know you are right, I searched for their domain, it was exactly what you posted above.
Code:
Domain:atoimcwallet.io
Registrar:Eranet International Limited

So, this is more than an evidence. This was registered not long ago, it was even today this website was registred, all they could claim is to be real atomic wallet. They are really fake and scam.

8111  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Atomic wallet's phishing website is being promoting in google's ads. on: September 07, 2020, 09:07:40 PM
This is no more a surprise to me again, google search is not the best way to know if a wallet is legit or scam, it is very possible google will bring out fake websites like this during searches. The best is for people to have the correct link to the original website. Scammers are always working to scam, and they can not stop such scam. It is we that need to be careful. But, some people are just so ignorant but still will be scammed by this way. And truly, we need to be very careful.

Please, let us stay healthy, use face mask and hand sernitizers during this pandemic. Avoidance is better than cure.
8113  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Invest for beginners on: September 07, 2020, 11:49:10 AM
In addition, you need to know that scammers are everywhere on the internet, and they are ready to steal your bitcoin and/or other cryptocurrencies. To avoid them is not hard, only what you have to do is to avoid unsafe use of your device used as crypto wallet. Or, better use hardware wallet which are the safest, but still very important to avoid malware, as malware can also still change your recipient address into scammer address.

8115  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: How to send tokens in bulk to wallets. on: September 07, 2020, 07:19:22 AM
It depends on the wallet you are using, I do not know much about Tron wallet, but like on bitcoin electrum wallet, we can still send bitcoin to many addresses at ones. Try to check if the Tron wallet you are using have the feature. But, you will still need to manually and carefully input the addresses, but it will save more time and fees, I guess.

For better responses, move this to altcoin section.
8116  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Reminder Everyone: If You Don't Have The Keys, Then It's Not Your Crypto on: September 07, 2020, 06:25:31 AM
In my opinion, you can not just blame this on exchanges, men must trade also. You need to let us know the name of the exchange. Normally, without private key, then the bitcoin is not directly ours and not our own on bitcoin blockchain. That is why it is very good to use a very reputed, trustworthy, reliable and a very safe exchange, trading is not easy or nearly impossible on wallets, that is why people prefer to use exchanges to trade.

Binance Dex exchange still provide customers with private keys, which can be a good alternative, but this kind of exchange have low trading volume.
8117  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The best trading platform for beginners? on: September 06, 2020, 09:56:10 AM
The best platform right now is Binance. It is comprehensive and lots of tutorials for beginners, and aside from that there's a lot of altcoins that we can choose to buy, whether you buy and hold or trade futures.
About binance supporting many altcoins, I do not think that is accurate enough, I am using binance but I find it difficult when it comes to altcoins, there has been multiple times I want to trade one coin or another on binance, but not listed there. A good example is digibyte and few others. Imo, in term of altcoins, HitBtc is a very good option to consider.

Also, I still consider the issue that binance was hacked in 2019 and some amount of bitcoin were stolen, it makes me never leaving high amount of funds on the exchange. Also, BitFinex can not be alternative forgo for me as it was hacked some years back, 120,000 bitcoin was stolen.

Kucoin and Huobi are both good exchanges as well.
8118  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: About Bitcoin Lightning Network and transaction fee on: September 06, 2020, 04:56:53 AM
I get your point, Charles. But my question remains "what's the advantage?" Since we still get to pay for each transaction even after paying for opening a channel or is it just about the transaction getting a fast confirmation? Is that just the advantage? I was thinking it is like a whitelist fee; a one time fee for life on the on-chain. I guess am wrong on that?
Bitcoin lightning network is good for making small transactions, one of the reasons is the small fee, it can be as far less than 1 satoshi. You can use the Real-Time Lightning Network Statistics to trace that. As low as 0.000001 sat for each transaction.

8119  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: quantum computing on: September 06, 2020, 03:55:18 AM
Quantum computer only posing a threat but not an issue as a quantum-resistant blockchain is the solution, and this is not hard for bitcoin developers to implement. We have nothing to worry about.

What can defeat a Quantum computer is a Quantum computer itself , therefore my idea might seem vague but I do think we can get there, what would be needed :
Bitcoin uses two algorithms:

1. Hash function algorithm used for block creation
2. EDCSA ( elliptic curve signature scheme algorithm)  used for public key generation.

As proven by programmers that hash function algorithm can not be compromised by quantum computers but EDCSA algorithm can be compromised in a way public keys can be used by quantum to reveal and compromise private keys, that is the issue on ground.

There is a need to create a quantum resistant blockchain either from scratch or built on top of bitcoin blockchain, there are some blockchain today that is quantum resistant. This is possible but needs advanced programming knowledge, so advanced programming without the use of quantum computers can create layers that are quantum resistant. The below link is useful to read

No there isn't. Bitcoin could implement quantum resistant signatures via a soft fork, which would create a new address type just like the SegWit soft fork did. This new address would use quantum resistant signatures, and so everyone would simply create one or more of these new addresses and send their coins to them.

8120  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: i wrongly sent USDT To ETH address please help on: September 05, 2020, 06:23:08 PM
So sorry for your loss. There is nothing you can do again, the betting company you send your tether to did not provide you any private key, your fund is with them but they are not ready to help. You can try to read their terms and conditions to know if such your issue as been addressed, if it is not in your favour, then your tether is gone. Supposing you send the tether to ethereum address in which you have its private key, you will be able to access it. The tether is with stake.com but they are not ready to help you out.
