But the reality is that I decided to learn a bit about trading and since I was following this and seeing the opportunities to make 5-10% on a daily basis I decided to give it a whirl. My appetite for risk is rather low, however. I started off with about .2 and I now have .57 (in ~month), so I can't complain. And I am around the house most of the time right now so all I have to do is set the alarm and wait. If it makes a solid 20% slide and still has support below it you know these idiots will try to prop the price back up to where it was- at least once. Last couple days the alarm never went off. Today I turned the dang thing off, because it is taking a major slide and I am not comfortable buying in until it finds a new "normal". Since it just broke .00280 I think we will see it touch .0025 before the end of the day- barring some Hail Mary "announcement" from GAWCEO, of course. This is the 2nd time a major hack happened to bter.com, the first one was NXT, now we are dealing with a cold wallet hack. Now you begin to question on how the exchanges are really that secured or some fly by night exchanges that will take all your deposits in a flash once it says it was hacked and gone to oblivion.
"cold wallet" hack claims are simply cover for idiocy in code or bad processing/whatever is running your op, inside jobs, or just overall scammery. ask Mr. Karpeles or Mr. Ganza  |

As I have stated to others, when I was first introduced to Garza, a lot of the passion he appeared to have for the crypto hardware business reminded me a lot of myself many moons ago when I started my first real smart card [embedded systems] company; so I took an interest in doing what I could in providing business/technology feedback, information, and suggestions via his various web forums and a few private/small group video conference calls with him. Like others, I also invested about US$10K in hardware for my solar powered home farm and Zen hosted miners. The issues started when simple common sense took a back seat to erratic ideas and wasteful business decisions (July/August of 2014). Since I have done business in over 25 countries in addition to having lived in Hong Kong and Germany, I had access to the resources needed to dig a little deeper and find out who the real Mr. Garza was and if there was some more info that could be learned in regards to why he was making some of these “odd” decisions – such as his/their cancelation of the free hardware hosting less than 60 days after offering it, taking forever or never shipping hosted miners to owners, doing everything under the sun to convert hardware customers to the upcoming hashlets, and the status of the elusive vaultbreakers. What I found out was very disturbing. When my concerns were voiced, I saw the true side of Garza and was quickly “dealt with” via his now Hashtalk fourm. After further confirmation came in regarding what was really happening behind the scenes, I sold everything I had at an approx. 30% loss and never looked back… well, except to provide the info I had to the proper authorities and those who would listen. I think the theory is that if you provide consumer incentive to use XPY, then the buying of XPY will offset the selling by the merchant. XPY will just be the medium of exchange.
It won't work for a number of reasons, but it's not just as simple as looking at current market depth. If people have a reason to buy XPY to use at a retailer, that depth increases.
