8101  Economy / Economics / Re: Cryptocurrencies aren't anonymous anymore on: January 31, 2018, 08:04:23 PM
What a clickbait title ! Anonymity is not leaving Bitcoin ! You can still buy your bitcoins with cash and get covered without any problem ! Only sale is monitored on South Korean exchanges, which represent, let me remind you, a very minor part of the world volume.
First, sale is monitored NOT only on the Korean exchanges. I am using bittrex and I haven't withdrawn any money from my account so far, but I did get notifications that to do that I would be asked to provide full information on my real name, origin and date of birth. Secondly, South Korean exchanges are actually quite a big part of all the trading volume there is. It is hard to count it, but I would say that they have about 10% of the top coins' trading volume. That is not too big, but big enough to draw attention and lead others to panic selling for quite some time.
8102  Economy / Economics / Re: bloated economy on: January 31, 2018, 07:43:10 PM
Are all of these recent icos good for the economy of crypto? I have seen a couple of brilliant one's (ethlend). But some, are garbage.
I think all the coins are good in a way, because they add something to the overall marketcap and thus make the market more noticeable to those who don't really know about it. However, it is true indeed that some projects are very bad and they lower the reputation of cryptocurrencies, since they make a lot of people lose their money.
İ think the economy is inflated. In a short period of time a very ridiculous volume had formed. But I think it's starting to normalize.
Of course it's inflated. It has been hyped up so badly, that people aren't thinking anymore before investing their coins or money into whatever ICO project.

Ethereum is the perfect example of what massive inflation looks like. Seriously, without ICOs, Ethereum wouldn't manage to come even close to its current levels with so much circulating coin supply ~ it's mind boggling.
Yes, the prices are too much for now and perhaps they aren't really normalizing yet. The problem is not that some coins like eth are worth a lot because some projects are built on their platforms. The coins are mostly used for trading. People care about the projects sometimes, but they still mainly care, because they want to predict whether it's gonna be a profitable one. At the same time, coins are supposed to work as means of payment of different sorts, not some subjects of price fluctuation games.
8103  Economy / Economics / Re: As long as you convert your crypto to fiat, we will never go mass adoption on: January 31, 2018, 07:32:45 PM

The next time you pay for something, always encourage them to accept crypto.
This is how your transfer the market cap from fiat to blockchain and this is how you realize true gain, your 10 coins valued at let's say 100$ can go to the moon if more people would switch to crypto.

I believe the two lines above are a bit inconsistent. For people to help cryptos become massively adopted asking people to accept coins as payment is sort of a good idea, but, like you said, they should not convert it into fiat. If they don't then they should not really care how much in fiat do they have in each moment of time. 1 btc is always 1 btc regardless to whether it is worth $600 or $6k, right? Only with such an attitude cryptos can really replace the fiat. You, on the other hand, say that making people adopt the coins will help them to moon (and you give a sum in usd to prove your point), so it's still about converting stuff to fiat eventually.
8104  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best coin for short term investment. . on: January 30, 2018, 04:39:09 PM
Mates, I need to know what is the best altcoin to buy now that I can invest some money in it as a short term investment in the way that I can gain some quick profits??
I mean just few weeks even a month or something like this and not more than this. Waiting for your help please.
Thanks a lot.

at the moment it is difficult to say exactly what you buy at the moment, while the market has fallen, you can buy enough coins, I would advise you to take such as
1. Stratis
This coin is not likely even to give one 2x profit since it would be breaking the record price for it. Bitcoin and litecoin are both low, but the situation is pretty much like with stratis for these coins. I think ripple is the best choice for now, because it used to be worth 2.5 times more than now and I believe in about a month it would pretty much be able to fully recover.  Bitcoin cash is another option, since it is also very down right now and it can probably be worth the sums it used to be worth quite fast. Good luck, op, with choosing one! Just don't choose a shitty coin and everything will be fine.
8105  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Future of Bitcoin? Will it become a mainstream of currency. on: January 30, 2018, 04:29:46 PM
Future of online currency will be a mainstream or it's popularity will wane?
I think a few years Bitcoin will rise in price. Experts predict the growth rate in 2019. Bitcoin will be worth more than 20 thousand dollars.

Being worth more that $20k is no prediction, since it doesn't say how much more it will cost. We already saw $20k, so to make a difference it should cost about $50k by 2019. As for it being mainstream, well, I find it hard to believe that all those old people counting everything they have will manage to deal with those huge fees as well as price fluctuations people have with bitcoin. Not to mention that many people are against all this technologization and are hardly comfortable even with fiat on debit cards.

I think the campaign belongs to flux now (some spots are still open, but people aren't being actively accepted). Oh, and the green star should be deleted, since they decided to pay btc weekly.
8107  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New to crypto. Should I buy Tron TRX? on: January 29, 2018, 04:55:32 PM
My advice NO. TRX already have bigger market cap than it deserves. With TRX you will never see x3, x4 gain again.
Perhaps you are right. I got some trx for free from liqui exchange and I still hold it, but I would not buy any more of it. The project doesn't seem to interesting, Charlie Lee thought of it as an overestimated project and it is in top coins already. However, I can see that people in this thread write a lot about China and Japan as if it was the whole world. It is traded on Binance (Chinese exchange) but to btc ans eth and 7% of current trading volume (not on binance) now belong to trx/krw. If Koreans will trade it enough then it can still go on pretty successfully.
8108  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which ICO are you investing and why? on: January 29, 2018, 03:43:50 PM
I will def try to take part in valid.global! Its in Presale stage. Check it out!

im also investing in valid.global
highly recommend to keep an eye on this
They have strong advisers, but the team seems not to have enough experience. Switzerland is a good country and maybe this project knows what it is doing. However, its ideas seem controversial to me. People need electronic versions of identity for the cases of them being lost, injured and other things like that (and it is a violation of personal data, as a person does not provide it to others voluntarily), but at the same time this project wants to secure personal data. VALID wants tp connect all the information and interactions of a person into one identification. This will sort of make a person unable to hide anything (and one has the right to do so).
The project might succeed but I wouldn't support it for the reasons I mentioned above.
8109  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What stage of adoption is Crypto currently at? on: January 29, 2018, 03:21:47 PM
Just wanted to know where you guys think we are. Are we still in the early adoption stage?

At what stage of the dot com era would you put us at? Dial up lol?
I guess we're in the era now of where Friendster is becoming popular, the start of social media's.

Good point. Apart from exchanges and serious investors there are already some ATMs in European countries. In Budapest, for example, there are 2 ATMs where one can exchange btc/ltc/dash and some other coins for huf (or euro, not sure). This means that coins are becoming more and more real, closer to being considered real money. I've never heard of Friendster and so lots of people have no idea cryptocurrencies exist. And yet they will learn it one day. The difference is that social networks can change, whereas bitcoin is likely to live and be #1 forever, even though some other coins might become very popular. I think bitcoin is facebook and always will be it.
8110  Economy / Marketplace / Re: The most stable coin" USDT" ,have the possibility of collapse?? on: January 29, 2018, 03:07:43 PM
The most stable coin ,have the possibility of collapse?

This question Troubled me for long time,Thanks for answer Smiley

Yes.
What are the reasons to think so? I saw people writing that tether is not used as much as it seems to be used or something like that, but is not this coin the safest one among cryptocurrencies, since it is regulated and backed up by dollar? I guess this coin can't make one earn profit as well as lose anything. It is just kind of an electronic version of dollar which works like a cryptocurrency. I can understand why people hate it ideologically, but I don't see it possessing any real threat.
8111  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: does/will WAVES pose a threat to ETH? on: January 28, 2018, 04:30:16 PM
I dont think as of the moment that Waves will post a threat to Ethereum. The Eth blockchain has so much advantage to waves.
Refer to this thread for practical comparison.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2019276.0
This thread is just full of posts where people express opinion, I don't see any constructive thoughts on eth and waves there (the thread is extremely long to look through everything, though.
in my own opinion waves do not pose a threat to Ethereum because the two coins are very much different Etereum is much more stable and always increasing.
I would not say eth is more stable. They both experience price fluctuations. At least waves is a bug-free platform and it gives it a big advantage over eth. Another thing is that on eth you have to program a coin, whereas on Waves you can interactively create a token, so waves is a lot easier to use. Waves is a strong project, but in the world of cryptos the first one wins more often than the strong one, so I guess eth will always be in top-5 no matter how many other improved coins appear.
8112  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Most overvalued coin? on: January 28, 2018, 04:15:37 PM
As for me, I think the most overvalued coin today is Ethereum. I don't understand why does it cost so much. It is not decentralized. It is not limited, so there is no deficit. Nowadays it doesn't look innovative. It is not even great as a cryptocurrency. Of course it is great for ICOs, but most of the ICOs are crap. Smiley Most of this coins will die in future. So it's just a hype and nothing more. Smiley
Well, eth WAS very innovative and cool some time ago and now it sort of lives from the recognition of what it did in the past. If we talk like this then bitcoin is the most overvalued coin, since it transactions are taking the hell lot of time as well as are very expensive. Yet it lives and will live, because it was the first one and everyone appreciates it.
A lot of people say ripple is overvalued. I don't know, but I think it will rise more anyway.
My #1 choice is Bitcoin cash which is basically another bitcoin, which only has increased block size. I don't think it's really worth all that money.
8113  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Merit not for sale! on: January 28, 2018, 04:04:33 PM
Perhaps many buy and sell merit points in secret, I think it is very difficult to get merit points, most people will probably take a shortcut, maybe they have multiple accounts to send each other..
I agree, it is actually not that easy to track merit sells, especially if they are not made in big amounts and arranged somehow outside the forum or in local boards. However, I guess the system will work fine eventually. It is just that some improvements and explanations should be made.
Maybe it would be a good idea to set a limit of 5 merits one can give to one post, for example. At the same time, some encouraging actions should be made, because I have this feeling that most of people ignore the merits they can give to others and even when they agree with a person they don't merit him/her.
8114  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it normal to build a crypto currency without ICO on: January 28, 2018, 03:53:52 PM
Me and my team building a new Altcoin. The first Egyptian altcoin. So we didn't want to start it with an ICO. Is it normal to start a coin without an ico and if yes what is the effect of that

Sure, but how you gonna sell your tokens without ICO,no one will buy it when you directly listed it into exchanges. So you need to do ICO if you want to bring investors to your coins or your coins will become worthless without any demand.
It doesn't sound like a good argument to me. People made coins before icos appeared and they didn't have problems with making them listed on the exchanges and other things. Moreover, as a lot of people don't trust icos, I think it could be very good if this altcoin had it emphasized that it won't be an ICO.
I guess people release coins with ico to gather money on crowdfunding this way. If there are sufficient funds then there's no need in that.
Airdrop might be a good idea to draw attention to the project, but it's not like it's a necessary one. I think dealing with exchanges and making the coin appear in various news would be enough.
Assoss.io, will the coin be premined anyway? If not then it should also be emphasized, since it is considered to mean the coin can be trusted as well.
8115  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: have airdrops been beneficial? on: January 28, 2018, 03:38:03 PM
the main purpose of airdrops is basically free distribution to gain some popularity and attract investors.
but most of the people never even participate when it actually come to buying their tokens..
so do you think it is still beneficial ?
Beneficial to whom? Surely people who receive coins from the airdrop benefit somehow. I have never participated in one, but I heard that, for example, people who got deeponion on the airdrop made pretty cool profit. If you're talking about those who launched the coin.. well, I think it's a risky decision for a team, but there is one even more crazy that worked out very good. I am talking about bitcoin cash which all the holders of bitcoin received in the numbers of btc they had. It was kind of an airdrop with a lot of money spent on it (right?), but it draw so much attention to the coin that it became really expensive and I'm sure the creators are very rich now.
8116  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What are the basics of trading? on: January 27, 2018, 03:41:37 PM
If you were new to trading, charts, markets, etc.. Where would you start learning the common background and basics to be able to at least know what you do, not yet to know how to make profits.
There are lots of youtube videos, some of which are pretty useful. There are some online trading courses as well, but you have to pay for them and I would not advice getting into that kind of stuff. Moreover, you must understand that nothing can guarantee you success and so you have to take initially the money you are willing to lose.
In a single explanation, it is not possible for us to explain in details, in this forum you can find whole material on the basis of trading. Many people will suggest one thing buy them low and sell them when it is at high.
That's true, but I would not believe so much the advice here. I did once and invested in adx, because people were saying it's going to rise within a week. I had to sell it when the price was 40% off afterwards.
8117  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: People paying $1200 for 1 Ethereum are crazy... You only get rich buying CHEAP on: January 27, 2018, 03:27:25 PM
So I made x30 with Verge and Tron. Also made x20 with some other coins. I like to buy cheap and sell for a great price and I made a little fortune in only a few months.

Proofs of such strong claims would be appreciated. And, as for eth-like cheap coin, I think eos is the best one. Pretty much like eth, just has some improvements, good team and a huge marketcap already.
most of new coin just out from developer brainstorm room is offered for sale in ethereum in the form of token sale, so owning ethereum now guarantee you much better price when you need to buy the cheapest coin you expected to go up in price later on
As a lot of coins are traded to eth, it might be a good coin to keep for those purposes. However,  I didn't get this min token sale prices if you have eth. And besides, one can always lose eth due to some bug reason, so I am trying to stay away from this coin.
8118  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: When can I expect my coins to recover? Feeling very depressed... on: January 27, 2018, 03:18:55 PM

These are the coins I bought and hodling ($500 invested each into btc, eth, and ltc and $120 invested each into the other altcoins):

Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Icon, Neo, Dragonchain, Wabi, Enigma, ETHLend, bounty0x, Po.et, Substratum, Neblio, UTrust, Medibloc, Enjincoin

Bitcoin, ethereum, litecoin and neo will definitely recover at some point of time (though your neo investment should not be down anyway). Icon looks pretty stable, I guess it will be able to gain its max price again, but perhaps it would be better to sell it for that money. Enjin has a fine gambling project and its team is good, so I believe you can expect it going up as well. As for the recovery time - well, it's really hard to predict, but I would say that in 2 months everything will get back to normal.
8119  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO]★ CryptoBnB★ Disrupting Home Rental Platform Powered By Blockchain ★ on: January 27, 2018, 02:39:29 PM
One of the ICO around with the biggest potential in my opinion, given how popular BNB accommodation are getting all round the world. I already recommended several friends to follow your project, and wish you the best for the months/years to come.
Yes, this project looks quite promising indeed. Short-time rental business has a lot of issues and some of them are related to money. In my country people often get scammed on the pre-payment of the flat or see the inaccurate prices on websites first. If cryptobnb can help with such things then it can indeed become successful. The team is pretty impressive as well, since they have people both from amazon and booking.com. Good luck with the project!
8120  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: People who hold ETH are killing crypto, Vitalik only keeps it alive out of greed on: January 27, 2018, 02:29:29 PM
eth is the worst coin.
eth is a bubble where the late investors will only lose.
Ethereum has indeed huge problems with ensuring the funds' safety. It makes eth a bad coin, but I am sure there are worth ones, the ones nobody ever heard about. I still don't think it's right to say eth is a bubble, I suppose there are people investinf specifically in it, so the price is not based on icos.
i got into crypto because i wanted to support YOUNG projects. i wanted to support REVOLUTIONS.
eth has had their chance. all they brought up was shady ICOs and make their early investors rich who got it for 15 cent or $10.
Eth was a revolutionary project. It introduced smart contracts which weren't available on other coins of those times. As for icos, I think it is wrong to blame eth for it, since it just was a good platform.
so if you wanted huge gains you needed something as neo, waltonchain or raiblocks. thats what made people rich now. and in the future what will make people rich is the coins that are cheap now like maybe metaverse, probably spacechain, ios token and so on...

thats also the only way that crypto will not die. keep bringing up NEW innovations not BUY THE BUBBLE
Ethereum made a lot of people rich as well. When it cost $20, it was already obvious that it will become something big. Lots of people got something like 10x profit with eth, whereas NEO probably only gave it to some very patient ones.
