the main purpose of airdrops is basically free distribution to gain some popularity and attract investors. but most of the people never even participate when it actually come to buying their tokens.. so do you think it is still beneficial ?

It will be useful, but here it is necessary to take into account that 1 out of 50 arriving airers will take off in price, and a lot of time will be spent.

I think they should not be distributed to all who register, for example I distribute it to those who hold x coin for y times, not to those who will sell it right after he receives it.

I used to participate many of them, now it seems an unprofitable way to me. I earned about 1000$ in total, it may seem good, however now there are plenty of useless airdrops and it is a little bit hard to find a good one.

I took part in many Airdrops, but like 95% of them doesn't cost anything. I got only 4-5 valuable tokens from Airdrops, so I don't think they worth participating in them. It is better to take part in different Bounty campaigns.

I think it was much better before...Recently I joined some airdrops just out of curiosity, and seems about 5-10 USD you can make. If anyone knows better ones please leave a link:)
There are some groups here and many on Telegrams that can help you more if you have any specific question.
I agree that some bounty seems more promising long term...

because most of the airdrop now have useless coins, not even have a price at all. and in my opinion only a few quality airdrops lately. then I can conclude that airdrop is not profitable from now on. and also I have long not participated in airdrop.

I think they are very beneficial not all of the tokens of projects should be airdropped. 1-20% is good depending on project. Others for bounty, ico.

It still profitable now, 1 airdrop with successful project will surely gives you huge profit what more if you are lucky and joined more than 1 airdrop. Its all depends how you will handle the coins and most importantly how the project will improve.

It's beneficial when you hodl it but if you can't hold it that long and want to trade it at the day you got the coin, then the value of the coin would be more likely low.

For me airdrop is a beneficial way of earning money, ofcourse some airdrop does not really give you profit and some gives you a lot, but for me its always worth it because joining airdrop is not that hustle or it does`nt need too much effort, so it is okay for me. So far I can tell that I have already earned not that big but a good amount of profit from airdrop since November 2017 until this days. For me it is really beneficial.

It's still beneficial for the projects who have a great potential to be a successful ICO and good platforms which will be developed and implemented by their own hands, not just a copycat projects who creates a hype from their magical dreamland promises and gimmicks, these days 60 - 80% of airdrops based on my experience are totally useless or unprofitable for a long-term investments which most of us seek, they are creating projects and coins for a short-term temporary gains. It's beneficial when you hodl it but if you can't hold it that long and want to trade it at the day you got the coin, then the value of the coin would be more likely low.
most of the airdrops are unprofitable these days, your lucky if you're holding a good coin for long-term investments.

It is still beneficial, although some airdrop might be fully airdrop without any sales, the main purpose is to create awareness and bring more people to the community So i assume it is kinda beneficial to promote your airdrops in forums, social media

It's really up to you and how do you rate that coin. I mean some coins can really have a huge potential and good whitepaper so that u would be willing to participate but others are just time wasters in my opinion.
Bounties are the way to go but again is the same thing because it will also be up to you on how do you find that coin!

yes lately a lot of airdrop appears but many also among those who have no value. I think airdrop is very profitable especially for airdrop coin seekers who only get coins and sell them, but I doubt this benefits the coin itself because the possibility of investors who will be attracted to coins will not be comparable to free coin hunters.

Beneficial to whom? Surely people who receive coins from the airdrop benefit somehow. I have never participated in one, but I heard that, for example, people who got deeponion on the airdrop made pretty cool profit. If you're talking about those who launched the coin.. well, I think it's a risky decision for a team, but there is one even more crazy that worked out very good. I am talking about bitcoin cash which all the holders of bitcoin received in the numbers of btc they had. It was kind of an airdrop with a lot of money spent on it (right?), but it draw so much attention to the coin that it became really expensive and I'm sure the creators are very rich now.

I think that airdrops are the cheapest way for the ico's to urge people learn more about the project. It is all the same as sending a product sample via simple post. Somebody will throw it out without thinking, others will Google the information about it and try it. If a person is satisfied with the product' s quality, the company receives a new customer. This is how airdrops work.

Instead of participating in airdrops, it is better to go to bounty activities. Most of the airdrops are useless, but to promote their own projects, there is definitely a need to give some benefits to others and to make them famous. I think this is a reasonable approach.

Most airdrops recently is like doing bounty, like you have to like their page, follow their twitter then make post about them in social medias. For devs, I think doing an airdrop is a good exposure because of all the social media requirements. But then again, if the coin gets traction, those who got it for free are the ones who will be the first to dump their coins.
For those who receive airdrops, they lose nothing and everything to gain. If the coin won't get any value, then it is fine, they got it for free anyway. But if it becomes valuable, then everything is gain or profit.
