8123  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Where do you read news or updates for possible pumping of altcoins? on: May 18, 2017, 09:32:23 PM
Hello what group on Reddit is that. I have tried searching for such group on the Internet without success. Would be great if all have a nice gathering on groups like that
you can try the r/altcoin r/cryptomarkets and r/cryptocurrency sections. Both cryptomarkets and cryptocurrency sections has monthly discussion which might be useful to gather information and necessary news. Join the discussion and make sure you subscribe to those sections.
All subscribed, thanks! Found out I already subscribed to one(cryptomarkets). Very helpful, thanks alot
8124  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: IF the NSA wanted to take control over Bitcoin, how would they do it? on: May 18, 2017, 09:03:55 PM
It seems to be difficult for them to attack and control Bitcoin from the technical vector. Many nerds are in the crypto space who are also very cautious and paranoid.
The only real serious attack vector I see left is social engineering and infiltration. And I'm sure we already see this happening.Maybe not coming from the NSA but the once in power of the financial industry. Just have a look how many trolls and anti bitcoin shills are flooding in here, coordinated at certain events or times.FUD, divide and conquer and so on. This is no coincidence!
Bitcoin is a becoming a serious threat to so many industries that they will try everything they can do to stop it.
Killing is no option imo.Even if they try to make it look like an accident. This will make the ones who died become martyr.
The reaction to this is would be that coders continue working from underground and more and more supporting them.
An obvious open attack will not work. Therefore they will try it over the sneaky bastardized way (this for instance includes planting crimes on devs, threat, bribe, FUD, divide and conquer).

Love this!  OP definitely underrated human capacity to be resilient. Bitcoin would've being history if it were that easy to destroy. The hate toward Crypto by Politicians, Fascists & security agency is hugh but I guarantee  they wouldn't be able to match the intellectual capability of personalities that really like the crypto concept. Even if they successful hire nerds it will hard to convinced those nerds to destroy Bitcoin unless they're completely brainwashed or lied to
8125  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin transasction time and fees - What are the solutions ? on: May 18, 2017, 08:24:58 PM
OP, it would have been better to have a poll regarding this. OK guys... right now we have two options. The first one is Segregated Witness (SegWit) and the second one is Bitcoin Unlimited (BU). The former is a good idea, but the miners don't support it. And as long as we don't have a support of 95% (which is impossible to attain), it can't be implemented. The second option is easier to implement. But it will give too much power to the miners.

Whoever introduced the 95% idea should probably accept it is impossible to achieve. Man that is way to high. Such percentage can't even be applied in the best democracy. Well maybe because it is an extremely delicate part of Bitcoin that made them settle for such a high percentage. Anyway what do I know
8126  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin transasction time and fees - What are the solutions ? on: May 18, 2017, 08:06:10 PM
Well, there are options on the table like SegWit < temporary relief > and then Lightning Network < permanent solution > that has to be accepted by the people that are running the Bitcoin software. < Full nodes >

I'm not an Unlimited fan, but this just sounds horrible when I read it. A functioning Lightning Network doesn't even exist yet, and there are still serious questions about the centralized nature of it, patents by Blockstream, and the outright corporate take-over of bitcoin. Lightning is not bitcoin. And Segwit is a horrendous hack.

Finally, bitcoin could function fine with a simple fork to a bigger block size, with a one-line code change. Or, we could wait around another 6 months for the mempool to become unmanageable, and let Unlimited hard fork the network, which could unleash total mayhem.

This's a very interesting one (the one in Bold⬆). . I never knew this. But why is Litecoin trying to implement the Lightening Network or is theirs not connected to corporation. I really love the idea about Cryptocurrency especially Bitcoin being totally decentralized
8127  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Do you see alts have chances against Bitcoins? on: May 18, 2017, 07:08:04 PM
Litecoin has really good chance of becoming a major contender soon. It likely will be better than Bitcoin after the upcoming Lightening Network update.  Bitcoin has been very disappointing thesedays. Competition is a beautiful thing
8128  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Where do you read news or updates for possible pumping of altcoins? on: May 18, 2017, 06:13:30 PM
Where do you read news or updates for possible pumping of altcoins?
I think reddit could be a good place to check on the updates and see what is going on with a particular coin, what people are saying about it and what news are circling. From these one could possibly predict the upcoming pumps or dumps.

Hello what group on Reddit is that. I have tried searching for such group on the Internet without success. Would be great if all have a nice gathering on groups like that
8129  Economy / Speculation / Re: What would you do if Bitcoin price crashes? on: May 17, 2017, 03:44:47 PM
Bitcoin never going to fall to that level or below  unless  it's hard forked or hackers successfully hack many exchanges at thesame time which is not possible.

8132  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Can Bitcoin be counterfeited. on: May 17, 2017, 09:45:13 AM
A newbie asked what the difference between Bitcoin and real money. I almost  replied that it cannot be counterfeited but paused to think before giving that answer. I wondered that if people can counterfeit money why not Bitcoin. Virtually everything can be counterfeited thesdays. Can Bitcoin be counterfeited?

Great idea. Great & serious  team.  Looks very real & sustainable.  I definitely will participate. The Ethereum part a bit confusing though
8134  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Are altcoin price movements have some mathematical explanation? on: May 16, 2017, 04:12:32 PM
The function of cryptocurrencies is purely on algorithmic programming. So it has got mathematical calculations in the trading purpose. None can make a exact prediction, because the system programming has the same base but will be modified based on the features added to it.

Exactly.  Bot wouldn't be making correct predictions & trades if there were no mathematical calculations in trading. I assume the algorithm does lots of hard calculations before buying or selling
8135  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin be replaced by another cryptocurrency? on: May 16, 2017, 01:12:45 PM
Very likely if the current high fee & unconfirmed transaction aren't fixed. Taking way too long to send or receive Bitcoin thisdays. Heard Litecoin has solution to the problem with the recent segwit adoption thing.
Wonder what is delaying them from using the Litecoin services. Competition really needs to be encouraged otherwise Bitcoin may never fix its problem.
8136  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is bitcoin becoming so god damn slow? on: May 16, 2017, 12:54:54 PM
You don't know how to use Bitcoin obviously. All my transactions confirm in the next block.

Bitcoin isn't suited for micro-transactions. If you are using Bitcoin to send a dollar, you are going to have a bad time.

This seems to be a very recent development? . Bitcoin has always been suitable for micro transactions until miners raised their fees. The charges charges for small transactions is totally not worth it. Even well regulated Payment firm like PayPal don't charge that much. There should be a way around this else Bitcoin may lose its dominance to other CryptoCurrency.

I think I like anything that has to do with chart & analysis. Never was very good at school maths nor physics though. Office jobs bore me to death. I might get too sick doing them no matter the pay. I just wanna be alone analyzing stuff and making money Grin . Doubt I can ever be bored at Trading. I believe it's something I can live with for a  long time. .

Patience is indeed important in trading
8139  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: So here is my Final Review on Crypto Trading on: May 15, 2017, 01:19:31 PM
these are very good advices but i would like to add a small thing to it if you don't mind, to anybody who is reading this.

if you have been making profit in the past couple of months it can be because all altcoins went up, you didn't need to be an experienced trader to make profit, closing your eye, choosing an altcoin, buying, and holding 2 weeks meant at least 300% profit. (not saying OP is like this but many have been like this). so in case you have been like this just make sure to not get too greedy and think you can make profit forever this way. be very careful from now on and you will be able to make continueos profit.

also thanks for the reddit suggestion, I recently found a couple of subs that are very good.

Could you please recommend..
8140  Economy / Trading Discussion / So here is my Final Review on Crypto Trading on: May 15, 2017, 12:11:29 PM
I consider my self a new cryptocurrency trader. I started last month actually (April 12th precisely). I started with $25, thank God for this forum advice my first Altcoin was Ethereum... it was $45 or so then. I did a further research on Ethereum and found out it's worth it. it's among the best Altcoin if not the best. The price went as high as 100$. So i finally sold @ $97. My investment double to $56 in less than a month.
I owe some of my success at Ethereum to day trading... i did lots of switching back and forth between Ethereum & Bitcoin. Am now holding Ripple which was why I sold my Ethereum. My $25 initial investment is now worth $72 less than a month of trading Ethereum, Ripple & Bitcoin

So my advice:  You can actually start small. You need lots of research before investing your hard earned money. Don't invest in Worthless coin. You can actually make money from them but only knowledgeable/experience traders make money from them.
So stick to the good coin till you become experience enough to trade those coin.

Download Reddit app and join your favorite Altcoin groups. The reddit groups are full of great coin analysts who are knowledgeable in Altcoin trading. Bitcointalk is also very helpful.
