But his association will make other naive users directly invest.  If eXo is a scam, they will really like Anon's involvement because it's brought at least 50BTC of direct investment.  I'm against people using Nxt thread to promote this project because there are many new users who will see this when it should have been irrelevant.

IF people do that, it's refusing to take responsibility for their own actions.

i see what you are getting at, but it's still evading their own responsibility, especially because Anon is providing escrow.

That's like going to Niagara Falls and wanting to cross it on a tightrope.
Someone trusted offers you a net and based on that offer you decide it's safe to try to cross it without a net.

Will somebody help Bitventurer with the nxt.org web page? He still looks lost.

https://nextcoin.org/index.php/topic,4121.0.html

The page should be up in no time.

Sent him a PM.
I think we could make something out of it Smiley
Let's see.

We'll know after today.

I for one am glad that Anon136 offers his escrow services.
It's not the job of an escrow service to judge, just to hold the money in trust and he does that very well.

People, EVEN new accounts, have their own responsibility.
If you come new to a site and dump over $1000,- in an unproven venture, you are mad or at least gullible to the point of needing supervision, especially if there is an escrow around.

I would feel sorry for their loss, of course, but the bottom line for me is that you don't dump $1000,- in anything unless you know what risks you are taking and willing to take your loss with grace.

That said, I wouldn't mind getting some of these people round a poker table.

I will wait till the day is over before judging this, however.

It's not only Nextcoin.org - also our friend Tai Zen uses the word "Nextcoin" in his great videos. It's a fundamental "problem" since the beginning.

Not really a problem.

Nxt is the total infrastucture/ecosystem

Nxt(coin) (pronounced Next(coin)) can be used to describe the tokens that are used by that ecosystem. These tokens are tradeable.

I'd rather put my energy in developing things than in nomenclature  Cheesy

(except that I just did  Roll Eyes)

I think its funny how these new coins try to beat nxt distribution with all these mad ideas on how to keep it fair. But none of them succeed. Take nem for example sock puppet accs, exo has the same problem with the 1st level 2nd level 3rd level investments. Looks like nxt did alright.
Oh by the way im in on exo regardless of distribution this only matters to those that missed out learned this with nxt

Nem has at least 1500 unique accounts and a strong community right from start. That's what success means. Sock puppet accounts have never been an issue to me.
Nxt IPO was fair in its own way and nem did not intend to be "fairer" than nxt. You can stop speculating on what nem trying to do because beating some other crypto in any aspect isn't one of them.

There will always be complainers.
Frankly, I'm amazed by the amount of activity that NEM generates. If you can get people *involved* with the coin instead of just having people hoarding them, that's a very good sign.

People looking for a "perfect" launch are searching for the mystical Land of Free Pie.
i may have been misunderstood whith my comment. I wasnt bashing any coin im an investor with nem along with exo. I was merley stating all the ipos refer to bettering the distribution that nxt had. Thats all. And so far i havnt seen a reason to believe any of these ipos have had better distribution than nxt had. I mean even if you have a few thousand investors from btt its still not fairly distributed is it we have 7 billion ppl on the plant a few thousand btt members is not truly distributed is it?
I wish all the ipos good luck epsecially nem as i feel it has more to offer than any 2.0 clone

Ah yes. I agree completely.
If all you have is the same code and only differ in your AIM for "better distribution", you are just being silly.
"Better distribution" is a dream and not a business plan in itself.

826  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NXT :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: February 22, 2014, 12:46:03 PM
As I said in the marketing thread, I'm currently re-structuring mynxt.org to make it a better place for newcomers and developers to start with Nxt. Less cluttered, easy-access to important information etc.

I would like to link to the manual on how to integrate NXT at an exchange. Could someone create a wiki page for this google doc? https://docs.google.com/document/d/1ch1PoWcKEptFziXlrm92TG_BHm0hG9llKBs2LH29N-4/edit

-

Here is a quick look at the current beta-version of the new structure: http://mynxt.org/beta/
As always: suggestion & criticism are very welcome.

Looks great. Very easily navigable. Good to include the business part! That will become the big thing this month, I predict.

What you are investing is hot air...

Said the person who started an "interested"  thread for a fork of NXT, and posted "interested" in several other NXT fork threads.

Ah well, to each his own.  Smiley

NXTio has forged! It has not been a lot, but we divided between the investors!  Cheesy

When an integer value is achieved, it can be removed as part of the balance.

Website: http://www.nxtio.org

I still have this image of a very old and lazy blacksmith living in that house on your page Cheesy

Edit: Well done Smiley

Some interesting statistics on https://wallet.mynxt.info after the first 24 hours:

Almost 200 registered users in total, over 80 of which participating in the promo.

I have sent 10 NXT to all 43 users in the old blocked Bitcointalk thread (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=477526.0)

Tomorrow I will send to the people that registered at Nextcoin.org (https://nextcoin.org/index.php/topic,4137.0.html)

Nicely done Smiley

Congrats!

833  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NXT Funding Committee Nominee Statements on: February 21, 2014, 08:07:13 PM
Applying for marketing committee

Things done and involved in:

1. Set up nxtcoins.nl and posting a minimum of one article on it (summaries, client articles, personal essays, charity): http://www.nxtcoins.nl/
2. Helping out with the Songs of Love charity by keeping it in people's minds and by providing escrow service: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=468258.0
3. Actively involved with Nxtopia Game project: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=474535.0
4. I'm moderator of the /r/Nxt subreddit and actively helping out there: http://www.reddit.com/r/NXT/
5. I have been actively involved with most discussions on Nxt, while being aware that technology is not my forte. That's why my energy goes to things I dó know about.
6. Currently working to get a professional Branding Agency to develop the Nxt brand, not by throwing much money at them, but by offering them a fair amount (30,000 Nxt) which will rise exponentially in value when they do their job right. I like to incentivise working and not give out freebies. I also like people to actually be involved with Nxt instead of just providing services from the "outside".
7. Doing the same with a small group of investors for Nxt payment modules that do not require 3rd parties to handle the merchants' money.

Professional background:

1) 15 years in theatre as a director/lighting tech/actor/writer. Had my own company for most of these years. Believe me, I have already máde most mistakes with money in the past! Painful, but good lessons! Wink
2) Due to having had to work in lots of different projects and with different groups over the years I have a good feel for what makes particular groups "tick" and how to change tack to reach them.
3) Currently working as a sales/marketing rep for a European company that sells meditation materials. What can I say, I like odd combinations. Also, yes, I meditate often and find benefit in it. < a propos of nothing.

What will I do as a committee member:

a) I intend to listen to every proposal fairly and ask questions that need to be asked.
b) I will judge on "value for value". Projects must be beneficial to the spread of Nxt and the Nxt ecosystem.
c) I will strive to ask as much for clarity and reduce "vagueness" where possible. If I go by "gut" feel, I will always state that, so people know it is not backed by numbers.
d) Basically I intend to do as I already do: throw myself into the job, because I like it, it fires my imagination and I fully intend to make it fire others, too.
e) I don't believe in marketing by opposing others, but by trusting in our own strength.

 Smiley

Life sucks when you are a NXT whale, please follow me in the day of an NXT whale:
10 am: just woke up taking a shower and have breakfast.
11 am: after breakfast first computer session, first determine the price NXT will be for the day, programming the trading-bot accordingly and let it run.
12 am: aperitif with some friends, lunch and take some rest.
Afternoon 2 pm: sell the BTC the trading-bot gathered and cash out to the bank.
3 pm: enjoying life

And this day after day since December,

I hate BCNExt  because he was not looking if there were suckpuppet accounts, this way I had over 100M NXT, the problem is I will never get them sold in NXT lifetime that is why NXT is epic failing. Well that is the other side of the medallion, so the biggest problem is not the price of NXT but how do I get them all out before NXT is just another shitcoin.

To all bagholders, I will dump to 0.00006
Have fun
100 megaNXT ?
Drop 1% of that on me, I'll be your best freind 4 eva....or I'll just never criticise u again. Call it bribery.....
My NXT addy is about 2cm down from here.

I want to thank Emule for his sterling efforts of singlehandedly keeping the price stable around 0,00007/0,00008 the last month!

You are doing so much for the believability of Nxt.

Three cheers for Emule!

HIP HIP HOORAY!

@ CFB or @ JL

We have been working on an exchange for about 2 months and are now moving towards production and testing. However, after an API related post I viewed yesterday, one of my developers had the following question.

"are they changing the API from a RESTFUL implementation into a java implementation?"

They've never been a RESTFUL implementation. What does ur dev mean?

ty CFB. As for dev, it's just short for developer

 Roll Eyes lol

what does "ur" mean? lol lynxx, you missed a word.

Quoted because hilarious!  Grin

Also: merchant tools, woo!

Woah!   NXTL?  What's is that?  Is that a clone of Nxt?

For the love of god, Carlos, could you quit with the suggestive messages.
I don't agree with the actions of people posting scam in your thread.
Could you have the common decency to cut out the suggestive spin doctor persona.

Get on with your projects and we will do too.
