821  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ATH for ETH on: August 20, 2022, 03:06:54 PM
As all are speculating the merge for ETH, are we gonna see ATH for ETH in the crypto market? Thoughts?

I don't know if it's right to say this, but I've seen some popular accounts on Twitter talk about the $20,000 target in the long run. Ethereum has revolutionized the cryptocurrency industry with its smart contract feature. If you ask me, it definitely deserves to be $20,000, but I don't find it right to talk about such prices. We need to talk more realistic prices.
Possible, but not so realistic currently. That is like a prediction for Bitcoin to reach 6 digit figure (though Bitcoin is much closer to it). There will be a right time for that to happen. Though we can't blame these people for being to optimistic as we all consistently witnessed how ETH has improved their project every year, but there are also these people who's just hyping things up for their own personal gain, especially in Twitter.
I believe that when we turn into PoS then we could see 20k. Because, by that time we would probably be in a bull run which would mean that the price would go up and that alone is a good enough reason that we could see 10k probably. Secondly when we turn, miners who mine ethereum will end up not mining it, it will be rewarded for "holding" it and that means people will want to buy as much as possible and hold it instead of sell it.

This should increase the price to 20k or at least increase it to a high level even if it fails to do it for 20k. That’s the important topic here and that’s why I believe that being bullish on ETH is not a wrong move to do right about now.
822  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: August 20, 2022, 01:56:30 PM
Dortmund v Werder Bremen, only confident Dortmund will win, regardless of how high or low the odds are it looks like Dortmund will still be able to continue their good trend to continue to get full points. As for Werder Bremen, although they have just returned to the Bundesliga, Werder Bremen is not a team that can be considered weak at all, with two matches with the same result at 2-2 being still a good result for Werder Bremen. But playing away against Dortmund, I don't think Bremen has a chance to make the final result in this match a draw.
Werder  has a game against Dortmund in the German league today. Dortmund must do well in this match. If you consider the chances of winning this match, Dortmund will be far ahead. The probability that they will win this match is about 70%. But the chances of a draw are slightly less. In the German league, Bayern Munich is next to Dortmund. That is, the Dortmund point is in the third position of the table. Hope they win this match and move to the top of the points table
Looks like Dortmund has been doing pretty well this year and I believe that they will do a good job this game as well. But I still hold my sceptical approach to them because they had Haaland, and did not use their money to get someone equally good, even if they can't get someone as good as Haaland, they could have gotten someone decent one way or another which they did not. They got Haller, that's seriously not enough at all.

In the end, they might be doing good for now, but they won't be doing good for a long time which is why I do not have any type of expectations towards them at all. All in all, they might start losing eventually and who knows maybe this is that game.

823  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Motosport General discussion tread --- Formula1, MotoGP, WTCC, ETCC, DTM..... on: August 19, 2022, 07:44:24 PM
Most likely it is from the new regulations as we cannot explain otherwise this downgrade in performance of Mercedes compared to last year. For Ferrari and Redbull they absorbed much better the new regulations so they built better cars compared to Mercedes.

For Verstappen victory I would not go all in,Ferrari in the last race showed really a good fast pace and they have been working hard to match and bypass Redbull top speed. It will be interesting to see the race in the end of August at Belgium which can answers all our questions.
It's obvious that new stuff will be a bit of a weird one. For the explained regulations so far, 2026 car will be overall faster, but top speed will be faster, the lows will be even lower. Meaning the electric part will be used more and fossil fuel would be little to none.

This means, just take an example, instead of going 250 on the turns and 310 at straights for 70 laps, we are going to have 350 on straights for like 10 laps or overtakes, but then we will have it at 200 to cooldown and recharge. So, tops and lows will be even more radical. This will allow us however to see insane races where everyone will be at top speed to finish off and the one that manages to arrange their ERS better will be winning.
824  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 19, 2022, 07:08:56 PM
It's still a long way before the season starts but I can't wait to see them back with their jerseys on.

Will a guard be included in the top 3 of the Season MVP this year? i.e. Luka Doncic, Steph, Ja Morant. These are the players I will be looking forward to being on top of their careers and doing most of the damage against their opponents.
But Jokic will still be there, I don't doubt that. Only an injury will stop the Joker. If Kawhi will be back healthy, it's possible he will also be in the MVP discussions.
It's Jokic consistency that really put him in the MVP race, if my memory serves me right, Joel was the front runner midway, but when he suffers a injury, Jokic takes over. So if those guards are just going to be consistent and injury free, I think they will have a good chance to win the MVP this year. If will be another close one, Kawhi and even Paul George could be in the discussion as well, or even Jokic's team mate Jamal Murray could also be inserted if he just continue what he left off prior to his injuries.
[/quote]
Yeah that's true, he played 74 games with 27 ppg, 14 rebounds and 8 assists per game as a center. In a league where guards and wings became a lot more important, that dude realized that he has to play in a different type of way to help his teammates because it is not the big guys league anymore to just post up and try to score with that moves, he could pass and score a lot more efficiently by being a Point Center and he became that.

I think Embiid is a bit more closer to old ones but a lot quicker but he didn't play as consistently. The league definitely feels a lot better right now thanks to these big guys and we can watch them play like MVP players again.
825  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do real traders care about bear & bull market? on: August 19, 2022, 03:50:32 PM
Actually traders requires experience and it is the fact that if you become familiar with crypto trading then the chances of losing money become reduces but there is numerous faults which occurs as mistake from everyone and these faults become the cause of their failure. Not everyone is a perfect they must face some issues. Real traders also thinks about bear and bull market because they also do not want to loss their money but they have knowledge that how to cope with it so they can overcome their loses.
The bull and bear market still matters to traders but they're still able to make a profit from the market in any situation. They are experienced enough to deal with the changes and make a profit even if the market is not in a good shape. Of course, they still experience losses but they know how to deal with and recover from them.
That’s the point of being a trader, if you are making money on during the bull periods then it’s easy and everyone can do that, but if you could make a profit during the bad times as well then you are going to be doing a great job and that’s very important.

I personally do not believe that we should be making these type of decisions based on just the period, bear or bull you should be trading if you think you are a good trader. Not everyone believes they are a great trader but I believe that it’s going to be cool if you could. Anyone who could make a good profit during the bear period would be doing a great job and I believe it’s going to reflect on their success a lot more.
826  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: August 18, 2022, 08:52:21 PM
they do not have ambitions to win, as Ronaldo is the only willing name in the team, and he cannot contribute to the team because he cannot get the passes he wants. I think this team should be rebuilt because the club will be hurting like this.
I think coach Erik ten Hag needs to rebuild starting from midfield, Cristiano's lack of contribution cannot be separated from the role of players in midfield, at least in the last two match I see Manchester United's midfield need to be more active.

The three attacking midfielders look less efficient, because they already put Cristiano as the main striker and with Cristiano's advantage, I would prefer if Erik ten Hag put two players behind Cristiano.
Defense? Are you kidding me, they need defense more than anything. I get that midfield and ronaldo may be a problem when it comes to failing to score. But, when you have a team that got 4 goals in 35 minutes from a minor team compared to what United is worth, that is not going to be alright, that needs to change.

Between maybe goalkeeping change which is a bit hard so he can stay, the defense as a whole needs to change for sure. I mean like wing backs and all included. They are terrible at the moment and they can't just watch and say that they need a midfield, that is not going to help them at all, what if they have an amazing midfield and still get scored 3 times a game? That's horrible.
827  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How profitable Is investing in a crypto casino or sportbook? on: August 18, 2022, 07:10:54 PM
Not really much because there are so many risk need to consider that's why many people said that its not really profitable. Imagine how high the volatility of the market so if you bought yours at the high price then it suddenly drop then this is a huge lose for you and even if the price pump still the earning is few so I guess this investment option on casino is not really worth it if you are a short term thinker. But if you just want to multiply your bitcoin then can able to hold then this might quite decent way for you to earn some returns on your capital used.
I would guess that if you invest into a token of a casino then you could end up losing. But, if the talk is about actually owning one, then I would guess there is a good chance it could be good. I am not saying that it's guaranteed income, but with the house edge, it is quite hard to have a casino business that loses money when you know what you are doing. Only trouble is that people think they can start a good casino business with just a few thousand dollars.

At this point, gambling world is so saturated that I would guess one million dollars to start one should be standard, and not even a lot, just common, anything below that means you may not grow big enough to start profiting, the operational costs will be higher than the regular losses.
828  Economy / Speculation / Re: What is your fill the bag Bitcoin price? on: August 18, 2022, 06:53:33 PM
So many Bitcoin investors always look out to when the price will be appropriate to fill the bag of bitcoin holdings, that is why they always look forward to bitcoin drops in price to buy more. So am putting this question to you what is your set price to buy more bitcoin during this dip?
I currently pocketed $3000 in Bitcoin, although I am not an investor with exorbitant capital, but I believe Bitcoin is the right move that I choose for the future, I will collect more, at least 1 Bitcoin this year, I will set aside 50% of my savings for Bitcoin.
Any amount is great, because even though people with millions need millions to make sense, people with a few hundred would need a few hundred to make it sound good. We all do our investments based on what we need.

If I had 3k dollars right now to spend, I totally would spend that, but investing it is a lot better, and that's what everyone should aim at, it's a lot smarter to keep reinvesting instead of doing silly stuff, and that's why I am quite happy with the results as well. What we need to achieve right now is accumulating as much bitcoin as we can while it's low, because when the time comes and it goes up, it's going to be too late and we won't profit too much, so get it now when we can.
829  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Tips for newbie to long-term investing on: August 18, 2022, 04:58:20 PM
You should be grateful that you still have friends who tell you and who can control the trades you make so they are less risky.
in learning to trade we need to have people to remind us. so often telling stories and asking for advice from others is also important for us to become more careful traders.
whatever tool you use, I think everyone will use it too. most importantly, you can control yourself in trading. Many beginners cannot succeed in trading because of uncontrollable greed.
That type of friends is very valuable, I have a friend like that which helped me understand the difference between how to approach short term and how to approach long term as well. Thanks to him I have been making a decent enough profit and that has been great deal for me. Of course, it is not that easy to make a profit, but it is not that impossible neither when you realize the differences.

This is how I have a savings account type of long term investment in btc, eth, bnb and they are doing well, and I also have some funds where I call it "fun time" which I use for experimental short term stuff which sometimes works and sometime fails but never hurts my general economy.
830  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NFT and what to buy now? on: August 18, 2022, 03:25:18 PM
In my opinion if this time NFT was not become the right investment. It's better if you are holding your bitcoin or convert into the utility token. NFT hype has gone and its floor was decreasing a lot. You shall try to analyze what happened with market. Bitcoin is always bouncing back again but it seems like that achieving 26k rate would be an impossible thing for sure. Im sure about that. In my opinion if you must also aware about that.
NFT "was" a good investment and I do believe that it will become a good one again in the near future as well. People are using them right now to build projects that could get better. Back in the day they only sold images, now they realize that NFT could be used for gaming, which is getting a ton ore popular, and we are going to see a lot more stuff as well.

That means in the near future when the bull run comes again, and price breaks ATH again, then we are going to see all of these improvements on NFT world come to light with brand new projects and people will have excess profit from the bull run to spend on these projects for sure, it will definitely be something great.
831  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1) on: August 17, 2022, 08:25:34 PM
Looking at the other side of this story on the issues growing between Neymar and Mbape,it can in other words bring success to the team, because the both players will have a competition between them which will make them thrive towards getting more goals individually, and it will help the team. They will both be fighting for who will have the highest goal,so I see that the rivalry between them will inturn bring good result.
But I think this is a serious matter, they don't reprimand. I read in the local media this issue made the PSG Council have a meeting. I don't know what the result will be. But they should have evaluated their decision with Mbappe.
Maybe if the competition is healthy and they still remain familiar it doesn't matter. But they were no longer reprimanded. Even at practice they don't want to be together. In addition in the last game Mbappe looked disappointed. In attack mbappe looked running but after the ball was passed to the right he then stopped and looked very disappointed.
I would guess that it won't be helpful in a healthy way, it will be hurting a lot more. Imagine situations where one can pass to the other for an easy goal and still shoots himself instead and misses, that could hurt the team a lot and when you are talking about playing against easy Ligue 1 teams that is not a problem but when we are talking about playing in UCL that could change a lot.

They need to make sure that the team gets along well enough, otherwise it is not going to be good at all and it will cause them to lose again. Winning the league title is not a big deal and it could easily happen, but when we are talking about bigger things, like UCL, this won't work.
832  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: August 17, 2022, 07:16:01 PM
One goal and one assist in his debut game with a new club is a fine feat by Angel Di Maria. Now Juventus is in second place and this season Juventus is ready to return to being a team that will win the Serie A champions.
Juventus' performance against Sassuolo was quite good overall and Angel Di Maria performed with very good quality. Maria will perform even better if Paul Pogba is in the squad.
He might be a little older now, but he is the player that won so many cups with Real all those years ago, and he played amazingly with PSG and won the league many times with them too. This dude is a magnificent player and he still has a lot to offer to Juventus as well. He is prone to injury of course which is a trouble for them if he keeps on missing too many games, but outside of that I would guess that there isn't anything that would make any sense for them to offer.

All in all I have to say that the best thing for them right now is to make sure that every player gets proper rest, because they can't risk overworking anyone and even training is scary for them at this time.

Casino owners will not go on bitcointalk if they see a few numbers of users registered here and I think this is the best place they can promote their businesses because they can assure that they are targeting the real people who has interest with cryptocurrency and crypto gambling. Compare to social media where that option is so large and you need to do extra effort to seek people who's interested with gambling.
That's the point, would you rather reach to 100k people that you have no idea if they even gamble or not, let alone if they gamble on crypto, and better yet don't know if they are looking for a new one. But if you come here, you will get a thousand people maybe, maybe less, but you will get people who will give it a chance because they are already here and they are already chatting with you.

Many many many casinos so far all came here, talked with people, chatted them not just about their casino but in general, befriended everyone and then they became huge because they knew what they were doing. I believe that’s the most important thing for sure.
834  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: August 16, 2022, 09:24:50 PM
Di Maria and Pogba are both injuries prone. Di Maria could not perform in many important matches of the PSG and Argentina teams due to injury. So Di Maria should perfume very carefully. He seems to have adapted himself to the Juventus team. So if he suffers a major injury now, it will have an impact on Juventus' performance. On the other hand, due to injury, Pogba will not be able to perform in several matches at the beginning of the season.
That's the risk they took because otherwise they couldn't build such a great team. Think about it, when they play with 100% healthy, how good are these players? Both Pogba and Di Maria play amazingly right? They are amazing players and they will help them be champions for sure. But, how could we sure that they will help them win? We can't because they could get injuries.

If they weren't like that and they won all games, then why would these players be here, they would be in much better clubs. So, I have to say that they took a gamble and if it pays off then it would be great but if it doesn't then it doesn't. We shouldn't consider this as a big deal.
835  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: August 16, 2022, 08:46:50 PM
The journey of the La Liga championship this season seems to only continue to revolve around three teams, namely Barcelona, Madrid and Athletico, these three teams have been challengers for the La Liga title in recent seasons, especially Madrid and Barcelona, Madrid this season did not buy too many players but it seems their squad looks pretty good and the proof is that they were able to win their first trophy of the season by beating frankfurt some time ago, while barcelona, if they manage to register all their new players of course their squad will be quite scary, but sorry @Yoshie it looks like you slightly wrong, because the match between barcelona and Rayo ended in a draw yesterday:).
I do not think that even ATM has any chance. Barcelona is playing decently enough with such a brand new team, it should probably take a while before they get used to each other, playing with famous tiki taka that Xavi improved upon, for many players that did not played with that system, will be a difficult task.

I hope that they will do it well enough, it's always fun to watch. Real is definitely good, they have no doubt, ATM doesn't good there yet, but Barcelona is the only question mark. That's why I am guessing that sometimes we should be able to just sit back and watch it, maybe we will see something that we did not expect from any team at all.
836  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Millions are still been raised in this bear market on: August 16, 2022, 07:45:20 PM
Bear market is here but new NFT/Metaverse projects are raising millions of funds, I think this is not bad news for the future of crypto and the next bull market might even be bigger than what we've seen before, what do you think? Are you excited for the future of crypto.
Perhaps, while we see that there are new projects emerging here in the bounty section of this forum and even on other social media platforms that other new projects use to raise funds from the community investors, I don't see any problem with this matter. in the crypto industry. Instead it becomes a good advantage for those of us who believe in the cryptocurrency business. Especially if you know how to analyze legitimate new projects, it is even possible to give us income in the future, as long as we do the right thing, but always if we are wrong and lack the knowledge to know if it is legitimate or the risk that our capital that will be used in a new token project can be ignored will not come into play.
It's like basically a crowdfunding process. Like we had kickstarter back in the day, that was the start of everything and people would pay projects and people to build stuff and when they do build it, they ended up getting some stuff for cheaper.

Like let's say I am making a game and game will be 60 dollars, but if you invest into me when we have absolutely nothing, and give me 20 bucks today, then a year or two later when we have the game, you will get one, so you paid 20 bucks and wait 2 years, instead of 60 dollars and no waiting. That's how it started in regular world outside of crypto. Today we have that with launchpads and so forth where projects raise funds, and then start building something decent.
837  Other / Archival / Re: Entrepreneurship or Office job? on: August 16, 2022, 02:48:19 PM
It's always been entrepreneurship. Jobs is most of the time not gonna make you rich.
But not everyone knows how to handle their own business are only dependent on working for the others or having boss.
IMO, working for your boss ain't really that bad in terms of income as long as you're in the sales department which will make you earn commissions and incentives. Being in the office will only have a limited amount of income most of the time.
Office jobs won't make you rich but they have a lot less risk as well. I am a freelancer so I am both a bit entrepreneur but also an employee at the same time, so I can easily say that people who like to work for others are doing it not because they love that, everyone would love to be the CEO of a billion dollar company, actually I think would probably prefer if they just sold it for a billion dollars and retire as a rich person lol.

But at the end of the day, you can't because many people are afraid of spending that much money. With all the things I own, if I sold them all, I could start a business very easily but I am not going to do that because it makes no sense at all to risk that much for a potential big loss.
838  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Eth could take over BTC or not on: August 15, 2022, 08:44:10 PM
if ethereum becomes PoS then I don't think it will be different from other altcoins that already carry PoS. this is just exaggerated news. in the end after the hype ended. then the price of ethereum will still follow bitcoin. I think people should understand the big difference between bitcoin and altcoins. if we delve deeper into bitcoin then I don't think things like this need to come up again to be a question. because this question has come up many times before. but for the altcoin class, ethereum is indeed the king among other altcoins. but I think it still needs more time to compete with bitcoin. and even I doubt that time will ever come. but the possibility will always exist even if it is very small.
There is a small difference between going up solo, and going up with market. I think ETH will not flip, but it will definitely go up solo a bit, while the whole market will probably go up, but ETH will go up more than the market. So, let's say if all goes up 20%, ETH will go up 50%+ or so.

This doesn't make it go beyond bitcoin of course, it doesn't make it the first coin. However, I have to say that is still a good thing for ETH right? Be higher than everyone else? That is not going to be something shocking to us at all. I will definitely end up with something decent and it will definitely get there, it just won't be something too big at all.
839  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin doesn't like inflation either on: August 15, 2022, 07:15:50 PM
Bitcoin is actually the best hedge against inflation there is. If you started buying bitcoin in 2009 to 2015 then I don’t think there is an asset comparable to how well bitcoin has done. Your money would have done a lot better than protect against inflation.

Sure since inflation hit 8% & higher bitcoin hasn’t done as well but we’re in a bear market, this would have happened to the bitcoin price any way.

Let’s see how bitcoin does vs inflation over the next 10 years. I’m very confident it will have defeated most other traditional investments by many magnitudes.

Bitcoin is a mid to long term investment, not a get rich scheme.
Fiat money is losing purchasing power every year for a very, very long time. Bitcoin fixes this.
Reality is that we shouldn't really be considering it only against inflation neither. Bitcoin is better investment than anything else. People look at bitcoin and think that it lost value against inflation, but in reality we will make that back quickly and that's fine, that's all I care about.

And if you look at other investments then you will realize that nothing gained as much as bitcoin neither. Meaning you are looking at something that can make you the richest, and you are only arguing on how it will do that. That's personally not something I really like, it doesn't make sense to me at all that there are people who think that way at all.

All the discussion above is based on one major fact and that’s FUN getting valued 10-20x and I completely support the fact that it can easily go to that level. We are already in the bottom prices whether it’s bitcoin or whether it’s FUN itself.

So accumulating FUN is best way to increase “chances” of getting higher returns. On a long journey we always gonna loose the small chunks of satoshi now and then. It’s better to buy FUN with it and keep them locked and also have premium features for locked period.
I do believe that there is a good chance that it could go up 10x or even 20x not because it's just a good coin and that's what it can do but we are also just getting out of bear market. I mean if it was at ATH prices, I wouldn't just say "oh we may have broke the ATH and peaked, but we will do 10x more on top of this!" because that would be silly, it's hard to do that.

But considering how hard Fun token dropped, well how hard the whole crypto (and all other) markets dropped, I can say that thanks to this drop, the difference between now and peak is high, and then you add some more on top of it and you get yourself a good 10x or even 20x increase in the future. But you gotta buy and hold until then, it won't be easy for some.
