821  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: November 21, 2023, 07:52:52 PM
Arteta managed to turn Arsenal into a better team than in previous seasons but winning the Champions League requires something much better than what he has done at Arsenal so far.
I think Arteta needs to learn a lot from other European clubs that play in the UCL, there are many things he has to learn to be able to make Arsenal a big and great club that can win the UCL in the future, not this season because they don't seem very ready to compete with other great clubs in the UCL because of course it is very difficult and complicated, Arteta will probably learn more while Arsenal plays in the UCL.

I beg to differ a bit from this statement with all due respect considering all that the gunners boss has done for the past two season since he took over as head coach, he turned arsenal into competitive side and also league contenders, something arsenal haven't had for a couple of decades or more. I think what's lacking right now is the psychological part, he needs to work more on the mind set of his players because these guys have got all it takes to win whatever they want physically but mentally that motivation ain't there, that's where the problem is, this arsenal team is far more better than the Jose maurinho's FC Porto side that came from against all odds to win the champions league, it was all about their mentality and resolve to never give up that made them conquerors. I believe the gunner can also emulate that feat.

After Ter Stegen, now it was Gavi's turn to suffer an injury and it appeared he was suffering from pain in the match which made him have to leave the field early. Maybe this is the worst international break ever considering that so many players are injured and quite a few of these players are key players at each club. It is reported that Gavi suffered a serious knee injury and it will definitely take a long time to recover. Xavi must be able to rotate his players in the upcoming match which is getting closer and it is possible that he will give Fermin Lopez full opportunity to fill the void left by Gavi.
Very bad, Gavi is a talented young player but yes I heard him injury was very serious, which required him to be absent for a long time. Although I think Xavi seems to have other options because in the last match he didn't use Gavi services, but losing players due to injury is clearly bad for them, especially also Gavi is a key player for Xavi. Every international break there are always injuries, but yes this international break is worst, previously we heard injury player Camavinga Ter Stegen Vini etc.

This is a difficult time for Barcelona, both for the players and the manager. Gavi is an important player of the team, and his presence is well recognised and appreciated. His injury appears to be severe, and he could be out for the rest of the season. These are difficult times for both Barcelona and Real Madrid, as Real Madrid is also dealing with injuries as a result of the international break. Plan B must be implemented by these two teams in order to reclaim the competition. This is also an excellent opportunity for challenging teams to maintain their position in the league and compete for a higher position by using the lack of their prominent players as an advantage for themselves.

Indeed a very difficult time not only for Barcelona and Real Madrid but also so many other football clubs in Europe at large as they would have to cope without most of their key players as a result of injuries picked up during the international break. Considering the fact that most of these players are key players for their clubs only means the coaches of these teams affected have to find a possible replacement immediately to fill in the gap to avoid panic, but the problem here is if this player coming in to replace the injured ones, would they be able to live up to expectations.
823  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: November 20, 2023, 09:01:44 PM
That match is going to be the strongest match on this weekend, for two champion to meet each other is actually going to be a tough one because the both team will put in all possible efforts to win the match but however considering there meetings all the times Manchester City has always make more wins than Liverpool.

This is the most talked about and anticipated match of the weekend, and it will be a tough one to play. There is only one point separating Liverpool and Manchester City in the standings, and they are still maintaining second and first position in the standings respectively. The game will be played at Etihad Stadium, but Liverpool has won more games against Manchester City than they have against Liverpool in their last five meetings. Liverpool will want to win this game in order to get into first place, while Manchester City will want to win or, at the very least, draw in order to keep their lead in the standings.

Newcastle Chelsea is another match that's yet to receive more attention in recent discussion, I see that game as another interesting one that will be happening this weekend bin Europe, aside Manchester city and Liverpool which has been most discussed and speculated since this week.

The blues have recently been showing some strength as seen in their most recent games starting with their win against Tottenham, that was when their morale and confidence took a new shape and ever since the story hasn't been the same as they keep showing strength back to back with any team they have met after then, although Newcastle isn't a weak team but I sense they will find it difficult considering how well the blues did faced Manchester city last week and held them to an epic draw.

This weekend's match between Chelsea and Newcastle should also be watched closely. Chelsea drew with the league leaders in an eight-goal thriller in their most recent Premier League game, so we expect a lot from them in their upcoming game against Newcastle. Newcastle has also been performing well since the start of the season, though not consistently, which has dropped them out of the top four spots on the table. This is an important match for them as well to move up in points and standings. They will be playing at home, but that is no guarantee that they will win easily against Chelsea, who have been in good form recently.

After holding defending champions to an eight goals draw thriller Chelsea looks very good and confident at the moment at least they have shown that they are a team and force to recorn with and they also become league title contenders or fight a spot to play the champions League or Europa, or conference, if they maintain this tempo. whereas Newcastle on the other hands looks shabby and seems to have lost that fire and glow that brought them to limelight though, they battling with lots of injuries at the moment with their talisman Isak out for a while now and this has been an issue for Newcastle but this doesn't change the fact that this game is gonna be the most interesting game this weekend.

                                       Ukraine VS Italy

Italy and Ukraine face off against eachother in a match that seems to be the decider with both teams having same points at log of the table. Ukraine are playing host to Italy tonight and will be playing Infront of the home fans and will try to cause an upset against the Azurris (Italian team) and maybe take all three point to keep them second place above Italy haven lost to Italy in their previous meeting, it's almost 37 minutes of play as the Italian side are still mounting intense pressure on the Ukrainian side and the Ukrainian side also are not relenting on their effort to secure a point at least as they also are attacking the Italian defence too making it a very interesting match.

826  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: [POLITICS] Who's Following up with the Recent Court Rulling All Over the Countr on: November 20, 2023, 07:21:58 PM
Abeg una dey notice wetin dey happen for all over the country with regards to the election cases at the tribunals.
  • Two days ago, the Appeal Court has sacked Labour Party, LP's Olukayode Doherty and declared the All Progressives Congress, APC's Rauf Age-Suleiman as the winner of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Amuwo-Odofin II Constituency election. 1
  • The Court of Appeal in Abuja sacked Abba Yusuf as governor of Kano State, upholding the decision of the lower election petition tribunal that earlier nullified the governor’s election. A three-member panel of the Court of Appeal led by Moore Adumein, in a unanimous judgement on Friday, declared Nasiru Gawuna of the All Progressives Congress (APC) winner of the 18 March 2
  • The court of appeal in Abuja has sacked Mutfwang Manasseh as governor of Plateau state. The court ordered the commission to issue a fresh certificate of return to the APC candidate.
Anyone noticing anything here? The APC government is moving to take over the states. Maybe we may not see this happen but we'll definitely see 99% of the entire Nigerian government being ruled by APC. Personally I don't like them, Nigerians don't like side those who are benefitting and those who are indifferent.

What role do you think a regular citizen can play here in governance? Our spirits are low and it is almost like a if you can't beat them join them situation.

827  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is not a get rich quick scheme. on: November 19, 2023, 09:04:27 AM
Bitcoin right now probably can't make you rich, but it can help give a good boost to your net worth — obviously due to price appreciation, and depreciation of fiat currencies.

Bitcoin isn't a get rich quick scheme, it's a not-get-poorer scheme.
I still wonder why in the eyes of some persons in the public they still try to see bitcoin as a get rich quick scheme, in all my life, I've hardly come across a situation where getting rich is been made quickly, for everybody that has one way or the other gotten rich, it is as a result of hard work and consistency, so it's abnormal to say you want to get rich quick because if you do try to get rich quick, you might not be able to maintain that success.
828  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Playing your own role as a Bitcoiner on: November 19, 2023, 08:38:30 AM

So far, the few people I have taught about Bitcoin are happy to see that they made a profit from the recent bull run or increase in BITCOIN price and this has made them even more interested. Let's make an effort to occasionally tell people about Bitcoin. you never know how it might significantly improve their lives.

The number of persons way u want tell about bitcoin no be problem, but also tell them say, bitcoin dey volatile, and them also need good money too to invest in, if them wan make good profit. Also no forget to tell them say them need patience for their investment to yield interest, no be quick money making scheme.
829  Economy / Economics / Re: When Was the Last Time you Came Across a Positive Economic News? on: November 19, 2023, 08:18:03 AM
I find myself pretty bothered by everything going on in the world. Have you ever noticed how it's so hard to come across positive news about the economy, whether it's in our own country or globally? It's genuinely disheartening. Every time we read, watch, or discuss something related to the economy, it's all about inflation, recession, debt, bankruptcy, companies downsizing, laying off hundreds of workers, shareholders firing CEOs, and the company's stock taking a nosedive. Can't we just catch a break and have some good economic news for once?

Sincerely I would have wished to be hearing good economic news like the GDP of countries growing, like massive reduction of unemployment and stable economic indices that is not inflation driven.
However ever since the outbreak of covid-19, the world has not remained the same, countries have been trying to survival or patched up with economic situations for almost three and a half years now.
Even the crisis between Russia and Ukraine played also a major role in the international market to that effect. I believe economies across the globe with stable but we will need to just give it some time.

Another sad thing for Manchester United is about their goalkeeper and it seems the nightmare for Ten Haf is not going to end because this goalkeeper is injured.
In the game between Cameroon and Mauritius, Onana got injured and this is bad news for a team like Manchester United because they had enough problems and now they have an injured goalkeeper which can definitely damage the team.
He is going to be probably absent against Everton. Also, there is even the possibility for Onana to be out for four months but

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-12765775/Man-United-injury-Andre-Onana-Everton-Cameroon.html

I don't trust these players no more, are they faking so they won't be part of the international duties no more? Anyways, Andrea Onana wasn't Injured Injured, it was only slight issues around his shoulders and shouldn't be a big deal. According to what's updated by romano, he'll be fit for the Everton game and Champions League.
Still on, it'll ne nice if Manchester United fans get see a change, Onana should rest and let someone else take charge of the goalkeeping duties for the Premier League while he continues with the Champions League. I don't know if Manchester United have made an official statement but man won't be out Injured.

These are some of the reasons why some coaches are not happy whenever the call comes to go play for national teams, because players always end up coming back with injuries, and at the end of the day it will affect the performance of the entire for the next few months.
I think it was either Jose maurinho or Jürgen klopp that was complaining about this kind of situation some years back. Manchester United is really going through hard times now, they need all hands to be on deck for the overall good of the team, this is just a sad one for united.
831  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: November 19, 2023, 07:40:52 AM
If Ronaldo is coming back to the premier League and is being rumoured to join Newcastle United, that I think is a welcome development.
But the reason why I had to bring up issues Ronaldo had with ten hag is because, even after this two years, Ronaldo is still performing brilliantly, if  ten hag had managed the situation well as a coach, I believe the youngsters Manchester United have now would have been blinded with Ronaldo's experience to improve the teams performance. United is not doing well at the moment, their high level of inconsistency is too much to even place a bet in favour of them to win a match
I think Ronaldo will not return to Europe or rejoin one of the teams from the Premier League because he is old and Ronaldo is also quite comfortable playing with his new team Al Nassr. So it will be impossible for Ronaldo to be able to play like before again, it is even very likely that he will join Sporting Lisbon before he announces his retirement. So for Manchester united they have developed quite well under the coaching of Erik ten hag and so far they have found their best form again because they have managed to be ranked 6th for the time being.

This season is still quite long and Manchester United still has many opportunities to improve to perform better as they did in the previous season. I see that many people feel frustrated with Erik ten hag coaching style but that is his character, He will get rid of players who don't listen to what he says. And like Sancho, It is very likely that he will leave Manchester United and join another team to save his career.
I know that the job of a coach is not easy, but there are some tactics a coach will introduce to the team, it will build the confidence of the team.
Even with the case of Sancho, I think Ten hag handled it poorly too, but since ten hag is the one standing as a symbol of justice ⚖️, he is holding  the rod of justice on one hand and the law on the other hand, so he can take any decisions that suits his sentiment...
832  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: November 18, 2023, 10:54:05 PM
The issue of ten hag with Ronaldo was something I really cannot get up till now, why was he keeping Ronaldo on the bench as at then, Ronaldo was obliviously having the highest goal in team that season, was he as a coach intimidated by Ronaldo's achievement that he felt Ronaldo would disrespect him. He kept Ronaldo on the bench and we were hoping he had better plans, but at the end of the day we found out that it was just pure unprofessional management from his inside as a coach.

There is no point in discussing Ronaldo and Manchester United anymore because he has been away from the Premier League for almost 2 seasons, everything has passed Ten Hag and Ronaldo just left the story. Instead, we are now waiting for Ronaldo's return to the Premier League I heard rumors that Ronaldo will move to Newcastle if Newcastle manages to qualify for the next stage to the Champions League, this rumor cannot be confirmed yet but we will find out after seeing the final results in the Champions League I mean the result of the Newcastle match.

By the way, Manchester United now looks better, they have won 4 of the last 5 matches and are slowly starting to climb to 6 position and they can take advantage of Tottenham and Aston Villa's poor results I mean to get closer, only 5 points behind to move up to 4th place or 6 points from Liverpool in 2nd positiwon and this is not difficult because the league still has a long way to go, Manchester United just needs to be consistent with the current situation.

833  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why alt is important on: November 18, 2023, 10:19:18 PM
Altcoins are here to serve as an alternative to Bitcoin and we can see its value by giving a good service that Bitcoin can’t give and right now there’s a lot of good altcoins that helps cryptomarket to be on a good spot. What you can do right now is to look for a good project to invest with because not all altcoins are worth to invest since some are just a hyped project especially with the meme tokens so be careful and know how to manage your risk.
More like if you don't have the capacity to invest in Bitcoin, there are other alternative coins you can invest in that are of lesser amount, but you need to be very careful so you don't fall into a scam. But then there are lots of profitable altcoins out there in the market, you just have to do your research on which of them to invest in, considering the volatility that's involved.
834  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: November 18, 2023, 10:06:23 PM
Even though they lost many players, the fact is that Manchester City's performance is still very strong and Pep Guardiola still believes that his club will be able to win the highest title in the Champions League even though there is a decline in the performance of several players, but we will see that Manchester City's chances of being able to qualify for the final round are very large as long as His flagship player Haaland has no problems. I'm sure Manchester City still deserves another trophy.
I've never seen a team as consistent and outstanding like Manchester City in the English Premier League over the past seasons, they have contineu to dominate and win trophies. I've no doubt that Manchester City will dugged for important trophies this season, the signs are already there, what matters currently is the time calculated for them. Pep Guardiola is a genius and managers like him tend to fit in any managerial position they found themselves. He has a good chemistry going on with his players and they will definitely provide him with excellent results that he's keen on making.
If it is consistency in terms performance especially in England, then you should give it to the pep guardiola side. It was only Manchester United that I can remember in recent times and that was even during the time of sir Alex Ferguson, that i saw an English team that has such dominance and consistency in European football.
835  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: November 18, 2023, 09:54:07 PM
I don’t think Ten Hag will be worried about losing his job at this time in the season. Results are turning in their favor whether we think it’s impressive or not. The champions league may be the deal breaker, it will be really bad if they are knocked out of every competition. That will be a red flag for ETH to leave. Jim Ratcliffe will be looking to make some changes to the club, he has already told Ten Hag to sort his issues with Sancho. It’s left to Ten Hag to bury the hatchet with Sancho and do his best to assure the new owner of his ability to deliver
Already Eric Ten Hag doesn't really have much faith in his contract as united coach because from their poor performance so far I think he might be sensing an end to his contract at united. The only thing that can save Eric Ten Hag at this material time is to secure winnings consecutively otherwise am afraid he might be heading his way out of Manchester united.
I don't think there will be a rocket science in this. I feel like Eric Ten Hag have already lost it in the United at this point in time because it is easy to enjoy winning than it is to enjoying losing especially if you are a manager in just big club. When he was performing pretty better than now, it was easier for him to maintain that tempo for a while but now that he is failing almost consecutively and hitting the club badly, it will be very difficult for him to bring them back to form again. The best that can be done for Eric right now to help himself is to vacate the club and get another team to work with and maybe try to blend wit the new team again, this time around better than the former.
If anyone wants him as head coach after managing the team like that. Let's face it, he has actually made Manchester United worse. He was the reason Ronaldo, the team's top scorer left the club because he didn't like him and didn't fit his idea. And in the end it turned out that Ronaldo was the key player. In general, a difficult man...
Yeah I agree with you on that because Manchester United coach has actually been one of the source of there poor performance because even when Ronaldo came back to Manchester United he made him so uncomfortable and even keeping him on the bench for several matches which made Ronaldo to give up his desire to finish up his career on Manchester United because he had plan based on how much he love Manchester United to play with them till he retired but it was quite unfortunate that he had to leave Manchester United.

The only way Manchester United will go back to there previous performance is by changing there coach and making some adjustment on the players, perhaps after that you will see that Manchester United will be revive to there impressive performance.

836  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ UEFA Euro 2024 in Germany ⚽ - Qualifiers on: November 18, 2023, 09:37:23 PM
France shows no pity for their weak rival. They scored only 3 goals against Gibraltar in the previous match. This time they scored 7 goals in the first half. We were thinking that maybe they would put the game on hold and slow down in the second half, but they continue the same way. They throw punch after punch as if there was an enemy they hated. At the 85th minute, the score was 12-0. Will it be 14 before the final whistle? I think the referee will not give extra time in such a match. He ends the match in the 90th minute. It was a very sad night for Gibraltar.
I watched the match and I saw how France where brutalizing the weaker team.
But I think there was a decision that the referee took that I disagree with, it has to do with the penalty awarded to France, even after when the referee went to VAR to check if there was any infraction, after seeing that the action was from ball to hand, more like the ball hit the player's hand unintentionally, the referee still went ahead to awarded a penalty, I was really dissatisfied with that decision.
837  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Should Casinos Sponsor Sites That Deals With Gambling Addiction on: November 18, 2023, 09:13:05 PM
I'm just curious and would like to get the consensus of the community, should casinos sponsor sites that deal with gambling addiction and cure, we can't deny that the gambling addiction percentage is very high in this generation,

I just stumbled one site about gambling addiction it's a free help for those addicted to gambling, there are many more related sites and facilities.
Do you think it is the obligation of casinos online or offline?

It is casinos' way to repay those who put in a lot of money and get addicted or they shouldn't care because it's the gamblers' initiative to play.
I don't think casino and gambling companies should sponsor site that will deal with gambling addiction and cure, it is always stated in every casino or gambling sites, it's not meant for people under 18 years old, that is people that are categorised as underage, should not gamble as they are not matured for it. So basically is not their business if somebody is addicted or not, this is more like a business organisation, they are open to make profit, so if people don't play gamble or people don't come to the casino they won't make profit.
Is more like telling a brewery company to start making doctors available or start sponsoring doctors that will cure diabetes because there is high level of sugar in beer or beverage drinks, when you can actually watch what you eat and control what you drink.

840  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoins Also faces Congestion? on: November 18, 2023, 06:17:24 PM
Bitcoin been the king in the crypto world is facing a very severed congestion problem and things are not working well with businesspeople that doing business with bitcoin and small-scale businesses that are accepting bitcoin for transaction so in the period there are some altcoins can use the opportunity to skyrocket their coins. And if altcoins do well in this period, then they will make a lot of money as profit because many customers of bitcoin will join the most performing altcoin (s).

Now a question arises again in the mist of the bitcoin network congestion. Since Altcoins are depending on bitcoin on any necessary upward movement, does it mean that altcoins network also congesting to produce high transaction fees? This has been in my mind for sometimes so I decided  to ask it today. Have you heard of it because I have not heard of it. Or the congestion is for all the cryptocurrencies?
Even with the congestion and high fee rate, trust me most businesses person's are still preferring bitcoin, because they've built their business surrounding bitcoin. Though there are few persons that will try to adopt some altcoins but the percentage will not be much, Though I've not heard much about the network congestion with altcoins.
