Well while its true that bitcoins bought my wife a few purses... lol a lot of hard work bought us a Restaurant. Even though its a running business we have a lot of work and restructuring to do. So I am making a pre announcement that soon could be a few weeks could be a few month:

Panama will have the first bitcoin accepting restuarant

Just very exited with the doors this new venture has opened. I might not too active on the forums but will be here every so often to catch up on the world of bitcoins.

833  Other / Off-topic / Universidad Abierta y a Distancia URGENT HELP!!! on: June 25, 2012, 01:14:06 PM
I am not part of the UNADP but I do know the project and what they are trying to do. They are a University that has dedicated their entire existence to help low income students to be able to study and get a degree. Recently the Universidad de Panama (Panama National University and supervising body of all private universities) changed the rules and made them eliminate %75 of their degrees because they have to pay a very high renewal license.

They are a private enterprise that functions as a social development project that provides very low tuition fees and very flexible payment plans, similar to a charter school but without the government subsidies. They are desperate and looking for people interested in helping them survive the new rules and allow them to keep on helping low income hard working people get a college degree.

For more additional information you can contact agomezsanchez@unadp.ac.pa or visit their website http://www.unadp.ac.pa

Note: I am not part of the university but I am aware of their situation and it would be a shame that so many low income students would not be able to continue their studies.

Thanks for your time

834  Economy / Lending / Re: First mention of Bitcoin on EDGAR DB - Loan documentation for a mining op on: June 23, 2012, 02:47:33 PM
That's interesting.  That 22% interest... Isn't that a little high?  I would personally have no idea, but just seems huge.

danieldaniel = noob

I agree with danieldaniel and think that the mining operation will only pay interest.
835  Economy / Lending / Re: Banking Services on: June 23, 2012, 01:48:06 PM
reloadable visa or mc debit would be nice. with the oportunity to fund it with both bitcoins and regular currency. I don't mind having to provide AML, cause that would serve to prove I exist and give your business legitimacy that you are dealing with real people.

As for the debit card, when funding with bitcoins, would be doing it at some percentage of the current exchange or something. I know US Federal permits foreigners living abroad to have this prepaid cards and even have a bank account. As long as they provide Identifying information the most importan part is that the debit card once btc has been converted in US dolars does not yield interest cause then it would be a headache with the IRS.

My two cents Smiley

BTC

839  Other / Off-topic / Re: GREECE or germany? on: June 22, 2012, 12:02:33 PM
Even though the German team is better, the Greek team is motivated by anger and the fact that the Germans are taking over their country.
So Greece will win because they will raise their Ki and the night before Captain Tsubasa will show up in their dreams and give them the power to play Shaolin Soccer style.

Germany might counter with Klaus Myers distracting the Greek goal keeper, who knows.
