8221  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC 223: Nurmagomedov vs ??? Info Prediction, MCGREGOR ATTACKS BUS LOL! on: April 07, 2018, 01:22:57 AM
@babygun. It is like a reality TV show hehehe. I also remember Dana talking about Conor fighting Khabib in UFC Russia. Maybe this is the start of the drama being engineered by the UFC.

@yugyug. We know. Khabib will fight Al Iaquinta now for the real lightweight title hehe.
8222  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bookie Public Beta on: April 07, 2018, 01:14:19 AM
@bookieapps. This is confusing. Users will have to use a faucet to get tokens to beta test your service? Why not give the testers the tokens? It would be easier for everyone hehehe.

Also, my question really was if your service was fully operational, will it use only PPY tokens or not?
8223  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] AEON [2017-10-07: update to 0.9.14.0] on: April 07, 2018, 01:02:58 AM
@smooth. How much is the projected reduction in hashpower once we do our own hard fork to kill ASICs mining? Monero lost 2/3.

Also, remember last year's surprising sudden increase in Aeon's hash power? It was not botnets, it was Bitmain testing their miners! Why didn't we foresee it?? hehe
8224  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Proof of Stake on: April 07, 2018, 12:42:15 AM
Hi which coins currently offer proof of stake? I've heard NEO and LSK do, but wondered whether any other coins do at the moment and how do I go about it? Is ETH POS available yet?

Thanks in advance

Mind you everyone that this question was asked on October 16, 2017. The Ethereum development team has delayed and delayed their planned switch to POS leaving the real date when unknown.

Would it now be safe to ask if Ethereum is really stalling because Vitalik knows he cannot allow to make the switch to POS without falling in market cap?

In reference to past events, when a cryptocoin swtiched from POW to POS its market cap fell.
8225  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Ripple Has Tried to Buy Its Way Onto Major Exchanges for Cryptocurrency on: April 07, 2018, 12:34:30 AM
There were posts in the forum, last year and earlier this year, saying that Ripple's XRP would be listed in Coinbase. Now we know why, because Ripple was really in talks with Coinbase and Gemini for a listing request. But more accurately, what Ripple really did was try to buy their way in for a listing.

For all the hype surrounding Ripple and XRP, its absence on markets like Gemini and Coinbase is eye-catching. By dangling money in front of exchanges, Ripple signaled that its future success hinges in part on getting XRP listed on the top trading venues. But there’s a major headwind in that effort: U.S. officials have warned unlicensed exchanges not to list tokens that could be deemed securities. XRP’s control by a single company has fueled speculation it could fall under that designation.

Last year, a Ripple executive asked whether a $1 million cash payment could persuade Gemini to list XRP in the third quarter, according to people familiar with the matter. That followed other attempts by Ripple to get Gemini to add XRP, exploring strategies like paying out rebates and covering related costs, the people said.

During preliminary talks with Coinbase last fall, Ripple said it would be willing to lend the exchange more than $100 million worth of XRP to start letting users trade the asset, according to a person privy to that discussion. Ripple, without putting the proposal in writing, told Coinbase it could pay back the loan in XRP or dollars, the person said. If the exchange had chosen the latter, it could have profited had the tokens become more valuable upon being listed, the person said.

Gemini and Coinbase both declined to pursue the proposals, the people said.

8226  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bookie Public Beta on: April 06, 2018, 01:45:17 AM
What cryptocoin will people be using if they make bets on your platform? Not PPY tokens I hope. Converting our bitcoins to hold PPY would not be suitable for bitcoin gamblers.

Also, I see a front page but I do not see any login boxes or registration buttons. How do we beta test it?
8227  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Game of Thrones - Who will rule? Odds and betting discussion [Odds updated!] on: April 06, 2018, 01:19:50 AM
Good news! I have discovered that Pinnaclesports, which now accepts bitcoins, has Game of Thrones betting available. We shall start using their odds from now on and I hope you did not make bets in bitsport.bet, which is down under maintenance.

For series updates there is still none. There are rumors and leaks but it is better to take them lightly because they are most probably fake.

Season 8 will be aired on 2019 with no exact date.
8228  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin's market value should fall by more than a third before year-end on: April 06, 2018, 12:59:29 AM
@pooya87. The analyst does not know what he is talking about because you think you can make a scamcoin and manipulate the price to a market cap level that you want?

That isn't the same as bitcoin's market cap isn't it? It will take more to make bitcoin grow as quickly as it did last year, I reckon, because the volume and market is very much bigger than that of a random scamcoin.

The analyst was also talking about the general feeling of this bearish market which might also make it hard for bitcoin's growth this year.
8229  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [05-04-2018] Japanese Government Reviews Proposal to Legalize ICO on: April 06, 2018, 12:41:01 AM
Legalize is the wrong word I reckon. The better and more accurate word would be to regulate. To which I have mixed feelings of, because the community is giving up some control of the cryptospace and offering it willingly to the government. We already know how corrupt governments can be.

8230  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [03-04-2018] Bloomberg - exchanges are charging millions to list coins on: April 06, 2018, 12:19:04 AM
This is bad news for us, because it might also mean that regulators would now start going after altcoin exchanges. Some of them, especially the smaller ones, might decide to close to avoid paying any penalties I reckon.

Keep the doom up. Nice work.

This is probably the tip of the outrageousness exchanges have gotten up to if they were subjected to proper scrutiny. There'll be so much of it it's possible regulators will just write it off and make sure they don't do it in future apart from the particularly egregious examples.

The doom is not my fault. I didn't make it and I didn't cause any of it.

Also yes, there is also so much of it. But you are wrong in assuming that all they will get is a slap in the wrist in my opinion. Some of them will be forced to shut operations.
8231  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [AEON] Aeon Speculation on: April 05, 2018, 01:32:59 AM
@SparkIt. Aeon is presently back in a situation of uncertainty and it could clearly go below 20k satoshis. It's also showing that the code rebase will not change anything, but let's see what the community decides on ASICs. It might be Aeon's chance to get out of Monero's shadow and get the market's attention.

Code rebase will do a lot since then exchanges will be able to add AEON.  It will actually become an usable coin. And small blockchain will give you chance to fast sync full node.  I dont see a reason why not it would also become useful to some.

I do hope so for all our hard work holding and self interests in mind hehehe. But seriously, Aeon needs to move out of Monero's shadow to be its own project.

In any case, my bids below 20k satoshis are waiting. Come get them.

8232  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: WrestleMania 34 Betting on: April 05, 2018, 12:45:54 AM
Hehehe what bitcoin sportsbooks have the odds available for that? I know it looks stupid but betting on the WWE is more the same as betting on entertainment shows like the Game of Thrones or the Oscars. It can also be exciting for some people.

It is also good to see Ronda do less real fighting and more fake fighting + drama queen hehehe.
8233  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [03-04-2018] Bloomberg - exchanges are charging millions to list coins on: April 05, 2018, 12:30:51 AM

8234  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin's market value should fall by more than a third before year-end on: April 05, 2018, 12:12:44 AM
@figmentofmyass. Ok, so you are a permabull hehehe. But can you tell us how low bitcoin should go that would cause you to change your sentiment?

Also, changing from the linear scale to a log scale is nothing more than a clever trick to make it look less bad hehehe. It feeds our denial.
8235  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Here is why TRX have fallen 5 hours ago. lol!!! IMO this is a good opportunity! on: April 04, 2018, 01:54:42 AM
@disconnectme. Yes, it also makes you ask yourself that if Ethereum was created today, would it dominate the smart contracts platforms in the cryptospace? It won't I reckon.

Also, the hateful reaction of the community towards Tron reminds me of the same hateful reaction the community had towards Ripple.
8236  Economy / Gambling / Re: Crypto Sportz - Smart Contract Betting Using Ethereum on: April 04, 2018, 01:25:49 AM
Wouldn't suggest anybody to use the system as the code seems to be written by an amateur.

I can't say that the system is broken or something like that, all I can tell that there are chances that there is a breech in the contract code and you may result sending your ETH tokens to the space.
Anyway, the system is still not usable and more contributors are needed, the idea is cool but there are already bunch of projects that do the same thing, they all failed at the level of getting more users to bet.

That and making a centralized service by combining Directbet and Betmoose would have been a better way to create it in my opinion.

But in any case, I am still interested in seeing more dapps compete with their centralized counterparts and find out what's cheaper to run.
8237  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC 223: Nurmagomedov vs Holloway Info and Prediction Thread, FERGUSON OUT! on: April 04, 2018, 01:09:47 AM
I reckon Rose versus Joanna might become be a trilogy. Dana needs to create artificial drama until Connor comes back hehehe.

I predict Joanna is going to win in a controversial split decision. It will be one of the best engineering jobs by Dana.
8238  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin's market value should fall by more than a third before year-end on: April 04, 2018, 01:00:13 AM
The "mean" in this chart is the $3000 price which happened on 1st August 2017.

In relation to previous ATH, we already fallen more than a third. $6k is 30% of $20k, so we have fallen two thirds already.

But if you say that in relation to $6k, this would give us a $4k price. I think it will go lower than that. It will go where people will drop it out of despair. In that chart, the "despair" phase is around $800.

The analysts are still wrong. Why? Because this crash is engineered by Wall Street, as simple as that.

I know that no expert can be exact in their predictions, but roughly, I agree that they are right on their medium term prediction for the rest of 2018.

Also, if the crash was engineered by Wall Street, then the pump might also be engineered by them. That's something many of us here can also be in denial of.
8239  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: John McAfee reveals he charges $105,000 per promotional cryptocurrency tweet on: April 04, 2018, 12:47:08 AM

It's a sccam. He's not involved. Don't spread bullshit

He is involved together with his wife and I reckon some of his team members might be his drug buddies and bodyguards hehehe. They don't look like cryptoguys except for 2 of them.

This was a tweet made last year from his official, verified, Twitter account.
