I wonder what Game Protect has to say about this one.

He certainly has a lot to say hehehe. However what makes everyone think that twochopstick is not a troll account created to start this thread and make up a fraud story?
He already opened a Support ticket and attached proof.

The support ticket goes to your website hehehe. I will not click it. It be better to make a screenshot of the attachment and share it in this thread.

Also, this thread should be in scam accusations subforum.

~
Fairlay is a betting exchange? That might explain why the odds there very different from Nitrogensports. Sportsbooks odds are calculated by professional oddsmakers.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that odds are calculated automatically without any involvment of professional oddsmakers. The mechanism of calculation is a pretty simple one: the more people are betting on a particular contestant on a site, the lower the odds for her on this site, and vice versa. That's why the odds differ from site to site so much in some cases.

I reckon where the gamblers bet their money makes the odds different from site to site, however, their starting odds are almost similar in the beginning because they are from professional oddsmakers or copied from other sportsbooks.

But for prop betting like the Miss Universe it is different and might be based only in volume. DarkStar_ explained it well.

Not for all events. For props like these, odds are based on volume. If a large number of people bet on South Africa to win on Nitrogen, the odds are going to go down to discourage people from adding more money so that Nitrogen doesn't take a huge loss if South Africa wins. Nitrogen odds usually start as Pinnacle odds with added juice
7223  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum futures in the horizon? on: December 14, 2018, 01:19:20 AM
@adaseb. I reckon an experienced trader or a whale waits and begins to accumulate when no one appears to care. This is Ethereum. The project invested in by Multicoin Capital, Marc Andreesen's cryptocoin hedge fund and other major funds.

I reckon those hedge funds might have the political influence to push the CTFC to approve Ethereum futures, pump Ethereum and dump it on their community hehehe.
7224  Economy / Speculation / Re: Weiss Ratings reveals this is the best time to invest on: December 14, 2018, 01:04:57 AM
Hey, don't forget the Chinese government also puts EOS at number one or something. That's two extra big thumbs up from operations who command universal respect.

To be fair there've been much, much worse times to buy for well over a year now if you're a long term believer.

Agreed, however it does not make Weiss ratings more trustworthy nonetheless if they made the correct recommendation this time.

What trustworthy ratings agency would rate EOS higher than bitcoin?
7225  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Ethereum futures in the horizon? on: December 13, 2018, 02:48:25 AM
This brings good and bad news.

Good news. Ethereum might be pumped to its new all time highs in the excitement of the futures market.

Bad news. Ethereum will be dumped liberally when the futures market is available for institutional traders and continue manipulating the price similar to what they are doing to bitcoin.

In a press release published on Tuesday (December 11, 2018), the Commission expressed its desire to become better informed about cryptocurrencies other than Bitcoin. According to the press release, the CFTC wants to know more about Ether tokens and the Ethereum network.

The RFI lists a total of 25 questions about both Ether and Ethereum. The questions fall under different categories such as custody, governance, technology, etc. Across the various categories, the CFTC appears interested in knowing the similarities and differences between Ethereum and Bitcoin.

Under the “Markets, Oversight, and Regulation” section, the bulk of the questions (17 to 21) covered matters relating to Ether futures. The CFTC appears interested in knowing how the emergence of ETH derivatives would affect the network’s proof-of-work (PoW) consensus model, as well as the risks involved in trading ETH futures.

While this is conjecture, the question could signify that the Commission is looking at approving ETH futures. For the most of 2018, rumors about possible Ether futures have made the rounds within the industry. These rumors became even more intense when the SEC singled out BTC and ETH as not being securities.

7228  Economy / Speculation / Weiss Ratings reveals this is the best time to invest on: December 13, 2018, 01:35:28 AM
I shake my head. Is this the same Weiss Ratings that rated bitcoins a C but rated EOS an A? What fraud and craftiness is this? Do not trust them.

Also, I predict Bakkt will postpone its launch by another 3 months which will cause another dump to $2000.

Bitcoin has recovered its $3,500 support level after seeing slight losses to trade just above $3,400. In the past 24 hours, the currency has gained a modest 1.76 percent to trade at $3,500 on most major markets. On Bitfinex, the currency was trading at $3,538 at press time.

The current battered market provides the best opportunity to get into the market. This is according to leading ratings provider, Weiss Ratings in its latest research on the crypto market. According to the firm, investors underestimate the potential of the technology behind cryptos in the long term.

It’s been one of the most popular debate topics: is it the best time to buy the dip? Many analysts have suggested that it might not yet be as the market could tank even further. One of them is Vinny Lingham, the founder and CEO of Civic. Lingham believes the current risks don’t justify the expected gains.

However, a rating firm disagrees. According to Weiss Ratings, this is the best time to invest. The Jupiter, Florida-based firm stated:

The recent price decline in crypto has proved that people overestimate the potential for technology short term and underestimate it long term. We believe that the cryptoassets will revolutionize financial services — for those who play the long game

Analysts at Weiss recently looked at the anticipated triggers of a bull run in the crypto market. Led by elite DLT engineer Bruce Ng, the firm came up with the launching of Bakkt as the biggest trigger to an expected bull run next year.

7229  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-12-11] A Recession Is Looming – Will Bitcoin Capitalize or Collapse Too? on: December 13, 2018, 12:40:00 AM
@hatshepsut93. Is bitcoin really decoupled from the United States economy? I reckon it is not as decoupled as you make it to be. Picture our world suffering in another world financial crisis, what would the common people need, cryptocoins or food and water?

If you think about it, both stocks and Bitcoin have been in a strong bull market for the last 10 years. Just as they rise together, they might fall together in a real financial crisis. Investors don't usually seek haven in risky assets during times like that, so I don't see why it would be a boon for cryptocurrencies like some people think.

Agreed. I reckon investors always go back to safer assets like bonds, gold and real estate.

Those some people who say that bitcoin will be a good investment in a financial crisis are not economists. They might only be holders or bagholders similar to they have in altcoins hehehe.

What Brian Ortega did not have was the head movement required to avoid or roll the punches. I reckon his boxing coach should teach him better next time. Brian was clearly not ready to fight Max in a striking game.

@estenity. What would give the Aeon community some assurance that the attacker is not looking at our project as another one of their targets?

I reckon the reorgs done last year which caused Cryptopia to delist us was an effort to double spend, however much harder to verify in cryptonote coins.

7235  Economy / Speculation / Re: SEC delays decision on ETF again on: December 11, 2018, 01:44:45 AM
@gentlemand. However, there is also no reason why they should slow it down if they have too much on their plate. To which I reckon they don't. They can always declare that some ICOs are securities but enforcing that rule is the problem because they are corrupt.

in any case, rejection is my original prediction.
7236  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] AEON [2018-11-30: update to 0.12.7.0+ ASAP; 0.12.8.0 on Windows] on: December 11, 2018, 01:09:30 AM
Why do you care about "investors"? Surely people that use the coin are far more important than "investors".

Why do I care about investors? Investors are holders. If Aeon has more holders, it will have a bigger community, if it has a bigger community, it will have a bigger chance of success.

I feel like a lot of "investors" don't take part in the community. They just hold on to their coins expecting to make a profit, they don't purchase things with the coins, don't accept the coins as payment, don't participate in the community etc.

Finally, the hashrate itself isn't too important. The Monero network at 500 MH/s would be much more secure than the Bitcoin network at 500 MH/s. One has millions of computer securing it, and the other one has a single 5 year old GPU.
Also, a higher hashrate secures Aeon and that is very important. Maybe you did not hear the news about the Asic resistant coin, Vertcoin?

Sorry, I think you misunderstood what I said (or more likely, I just explained it poorly). The hashrate itself doesn't matter, what matters is how difficult it is for some hostile entity to get a significant percentage of the network hashrate.

There is still more chance of having a bigger community if there are more holders or trapped bagholders hehehe.

Is it really more difficult for GPU farms that can transfer mining from coin to coin to attack Aeon? How does that argument justify what occured with Vertcoin?
7237  Economy / Speculation / Re: SEC delays decision on ETF again on: December 10, 2018, 01:09:14 AM
There ain’t going to be a Bitcoin ETF any time soon. The market doesn’t give a shit any more. The recent dumping is because of the BCH fork fight & all the shit that’s going on with those assholes selling bitcoin to prop up their shitcoin’s.

Bitcoin doesn’t need an ETF & we’re unlikely to get one approved for at least a couple of years imo.

However, @rickadone has made a good argument on why the delay is more towards the approval of an ETF than a rejection. If the SEC wanted to reject it, would it take them this long to analyze the situation? I reckon, no.
7238  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC 231: Holloway vs Ortega Prediction and Info Thread on: December 10, 2018, 12:55:14 AM
@btc_angela. However, the heart on Brian Ortega is very impressive. I was wishing he would turn it around in the 5th round. But I was slightly disappointed that the doctor stopped the fight because Brian's eye looked badly swollen.

In any case, good fight and good win for Max.

7239  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-12-10] Still Trending: Bitcoin Subreddit Hits 1 Million Subscribers on: December 10, 2018, 12:43:19 AM
@tvz. You missed the news about /r/bitcoin arriving on a new milestone of 1 million subscribers and growing hehehe.

In any case, that is one of the indicators if interest in bitcoin is growing or declining. I reckon Google trends for searching the word bitcoin has also grown by 50% lately.

Why and what would be the advantages in upgrading the proof of work algorithm again? Will it reduce hashrate or increase it?

The goal was to brick existing ASIC miners. The advantage of this is that it keeps mining decentralised.

There was a comment on github that said that our hashrate doubled and so there will be more investors. If that was true then why did we change the proof of work algorithm to stop Asics?

Why do you care about "investors"? Surely people that use the coin are far more important than "investors".

Finally, the hashrate itself isn't too important. The Monero network at 500 MH/s would be much more secure than the Bitcoin network at 500 MH/s. One has millions of computer securing it, and the other one has a single 5 year old GPU.
