What is the official binance site?

Do i just type in

www.binance.com

I did not have it bookmarked and when you google it, it doesn't show the actual site link.

Thanks.

Yes, this is the legit one. I would advise you to check the legit links of exchangers on https://coinmarketcap.com/ not to be phished, they track 195 of them. Same thing with social media or site links of coins.

In your own words...

I would advise you to check the legitimacy of links from coinmarketcap.com so as not to be phished

...coinmarketcap can be hacked so anyone using the links from there without checking them first is an idiot.

Don't put your faith in any links from ANYWHERE people. Type them in yourself and double check them and bookmark them.

Hi;

Can anyone tell, how "Biakal Giant N" miner will affect this project?

Kind regards

It won't.  If it is real, it has probably already had it's effect.  Bricking it may have a further effect, time will tell.  Soon.

At the least, it has spurred to action the PoW alteration scheme that has been mumbled about for some time.  The next few weeks should will be interesting!

I wish I had my old mining rig to setup right for the change to be in on the Difficulty drop.

8285  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: March 12, 2018, 11:26:19 PM

Mt Gox selling stopped by court ?

not a monero news, however it may stop the daily market fluctuations ?

https://usethebitcoin.com/how-will-bitcoin-react-to-mt-gox-sell-off-pause-until-september/

WTF, Dumping them hurts their value so why didn't he do it correctly?

1. He gathered as much $ as MtGox owe to their debtors. Why on earth he would sell more? The rest will be returned to MtGox owners in BTC and not in $. So there is zero reason for any additional selling after February when all the needed $ was already gathered.

2. What it is correctly? Make an auction like USA did with Silkroads coins?  What was the price they got?  $500 , $600?     That was a nice "correctly" way

This guy sold 40k BTC he currently  manage. Lousy 40k and so much drama. I dont understand this really.  He sold them at high liquidity when was bull market. Well Was maybe a bit to late.   He did relatively well.   Yes would be way better if he would dump at 20k but please what is chance any of us would know and dump all back then.

If Bitcoin cant eat 40k coins dump at times when half world was hyping about Bitcoin. Everyone was talking about it and try to open account on some exchange.  If that is the case, then it have zero future.  40k coins. What if Satoshi shows up and dump his? what will be then? Nuclear winter?

Thanks for this, I had no clue that he had enough BTC to pay back the initial theft amount in BTC.

It's the 1.39 Billion USD worth (IIRC that was the reported amount) that they said he was still needing to unload that is causing all the fear. Not any worry over a 40k sell on the market.

If Bitcoin cant eat 40k coins dump at times when half world was hyping about Bitcoin. Everyone was talking about it and try to open account on some exchange.  If that is the case, then it have zero future.

Imagine if a similar proportion of the daily liquidity in usd was dumped into FX markets over a couple of months.  That would amount to roughly 700bn.  Nuclear winter? Perhaps literally so.  Roughly guessing, USD might trade 2.5 to the EUR.  But in fact it would never happen ceteris paribus - other central banks would double down on their printing, to keep up.  It would amount to a global devaluation.  Hmmm... perhaps cryptoland resembles that remark.

That's some perspective there, But afa I'm concerned the only worry I saw was what they were reporting he was still going to dump the rest.

I guess it's shit article. I really don't bother to follow BTC news so took it at face value.

BTC is nothing more than a gateway to XMR to me. Smiley
8286  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: March 12, 2018, 08:02:22 PM
The responsible way to do it would be an auction, like the US Marshals did.

I hear you but I'm not sure if that would have been the most lucrative. But drawing attention to that massive stack he wants to unload is bad news. why not just return coins to the people? I'm sure they would gladly accept much less now that it's worth so much more. I bet it's because he gets a bigger cut this way.
8287  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: March 12, 2018, 07:45:02 PM

W0w I hadn't noticed how bad Polo had fucked themselfs in the A$$ , down to 5th by volume. WTF is That scam exchange HitBTC the highest volume?HuhHuhHuhHuh

There is no way HitBTC is really #1.  Their volume is most likely their own bots wash trading.

I would take the time to figure out how to exploit them if I didn't think it's a 99+% chance I would suddenly have a "problem with my withdrawal" afterwards.

I hear ya, there has to be some way for us to get HitBtc off all these sites that aggregate.

Dammit missed my .027313. And I didn't get a manual grab in on time. Sad

They removed it from their twitter

https://twitter.com/baikalminer

Excellent news. Looks like I'll have to drop mining Electroneum (just about breaking even on it just now anyway) and move back to mining Monero.

https://screenshots.firefox.com/TDP3HMC416V2qKeA/twitter.com

You might want to wait until the cryptonight has been forked, these asics can still mine it even if it's not advertised. Unless I missed something and there was a change I don't know about.

Liquidity not so high at Binance...  At least its going the right way Cool

It's number 4

Only because CMC doesn't list Upbit...

Hello! Do you think it's worth keeping Monero a couple more years? Does he have great prospects? It seems to me that a coin can bring a good profit.

For sure. Monero is king of privacy coins
of course. Monero is the third to me. important Crypto currency. because monero has launched its first privacy project and is proceeding with certain steps.
I think it would be a good investment.  Cool

of course. You have no clue what your talking about.

Just had to be the asshole didn't you. Tongue

And this is why peer review is necessary, finding bugs before release is a good thing. Smiley

HEY, Why hasn't that David (Shit forgot his last name) Anderson (IIRC) been asked to review the BP code?

ON Topic: really testing .028, I didn't think we would see this again ever. The entire market FUD seems to be working. How low will it go? I need m0ar! Single digits suck, and buying everything above $250 blows as well! Smiley
8290  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Holding is bullshit? on: March 12, 2018, 04:08:39 PM
I sold 800+ monero for $1.37 right before alpha bay while I was accumulating for a year and a half. I was planning on buying it back in a months time and never have been able to get any substantial amount back and have missed the train. So you tell me, should I have held or sold for a real life emergency like I did? Of course I was invested in a blue chip coin not some fly by night shit.
8291  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I have $ 5000. should start where on: March 12, 2018, 04:04:46 PM
I think all these 1 post I have $$$ to spend threads are bullshit. With that being said right now just buy BTC during Dips while researching projects. don't take anyone's advice on where to put your money, all of them can burn you including BTC.

8294  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why the cryptocurrency prices went down suddenly on: March 12, 2018, 05:11:50 AM
The market as a whole is getting massively fudded and all that says to me is its a good time to buy. Smiley
8295  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Gold (BTG) on: March 11, 2018, 07:04:44 PM
I used to think that this is a dead fork that everyone will soon forget. But now I see that the project began to revive and the developers decided to go on. Perhaps this coin can live for several months. But I'm not ready to take risks and invest in BTG anyway.

Holy crap you guys. Eureka! I figured it out! Not just a stop gap measure to address the fork ring sig reuse problem. The actual solution! I was just laying in bed trying to fall asleep and it hit me like a tire iron to the face.

It is possable to deterministically derive ring sig partners but in a way that would be functionally random to any outside observer. I'll give an example of one way of doing it. Take

Code:
sha256([your private key] [transaction hash of most recent input]) mod [number of prospective ring signature partners]

Then make all of the prospective ring signature partners into an ordered numbered set and use the resulting modulus from the pseudo code above to select one. Continue wrapping around the clock face as many times as needed to arrive at the number of ring signature partners desired.

There would be 0 information leak from the outside, the ring signature partners would be functionally random to any outside observer BUT, and here is the beautiful thing, the same ring signature partners would end up being selected on both the main chain AND the fork chain!

Of course what I outlined above almost certainly isn't the best way to achieve this. It was just to outline the concept.

Merits! I deserve all of the merits. Bequeath unto me thine merits! (well, after peer review, and not just if my specific idea is right but if I'm barking up close enough to the right tree to inspire someone smarter than me)

The prospective ring signature partners is a numbered order set consisting of the total number of transactions so what is the benefit of using that as it can easily be determined? Or am I just missing something there?

AFA as the concept itself,I cannot comment on except it sounds doable.

No you aren't missing anything. I was just trying to be as clear as possible. Said differently, one would use the ouput from that algorithm, call it N, to select the Nth valid prospective ring signature partner.

Got ya. Smiley
8297  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: March 11, 2018, 05:47:16 PM
Looks like we have bottomed out.

Yeah, Got home and online and just missed the low last night. But I gave it a shot. Back in a flying pattern. Cheesy

Didn't get up to my meager sell off @ 0.038990 either. Smiley

Having both our team and community grow rapidly, the past few months has positioned the MoneroV project and the upcoming hard-fork as a highly anticipated event. With both great support and enthusiasm, we are dedicated to realizing the vision of a truly decentralized, finite currency to serve the community for years to come.

Due to the growing demand and increasing expectations from users, trading platforms, and large mining pools, we have decided that the Snapshot date will be postponed to ~30th of April block 1564965

And we have all decided that you can just fuck off.

Only because the pump was because of MoneroV airdrop, now it's postponed all the cash that flowed in is flowing out.

As much as people in this thread said it was about the "tech" more than the airdrop predictably they were very wrong.

Hardly anyone cares about the tech in crypto, that's why this market doesn't make sense to anybody

Stop propagating the lie it's an airdrop and has any association whatsoever with Monero. Your doing this just by talking about it in Monero's threads so stop.

IT is a bunch of scammers trying to cash in on the Monero brand Period.

8298  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency on: March 11, 2018, 05:32:17 PM
ASIC is coming ,XVG and DGB are killed by AISC,obviously,XMR will dump to floor.

Monero's POW algorithm is soon to be changed slightly. This will render any asics useless.
Are you sure that minor changes in hash algorithm can help to avoid asics, cause they probably can update/reprogramming their FPGA

FPGA (field Grid Programmable Array) is a system that can be programmed to act as an asic but it does not have even close to asic speed because the chips used are much slower than if you had made the asic on die.

What happened to the hoard of reddit supporters? They have no issue funding marketing bullshit so they can line their greedly little pockets but when it comes to the most important core parts of the project they are no where to be found. It's almost as if security is kicked from the back seat into the trunk. I bet if we put up a funder to get some second rate hack actor like Seagal it would be funded in 10 minutes.

https://forum.getmonero.org/8/funding-required/90007/bulletproofs-audit-fundraising

We want Carlos from bitconnect!

Come on now 170 xmr in 3 days is not bad at all.

It used to be hours tops for this stuff.

All done.  3 days.  240 xmr ain't peanuts anymore either.

120k subs on reddit. Typically 3000-4000+ online at any given time.  Ya, not much for community support given the numbers.  But we still get it done.

Nice to see you guys still supporting the core ideals over here and I'm glad Fluffy used the Dev fund for the remainder. It's weird with the FFS sometimes I forget that there is a Dev fund that gets a cut of most pools.

Anyone know how much is in the development fund?

Good question, I'm sure there is a view key around somewhere but I have no clue where. It would be nice to see a spreadsheet to see how it's been used over the years. I only disagreed with one thing it was used for (at least that I know) so that's pretty damn good over all as in any organization having that kind of agreement from the community is pretty unheard of.
