8341  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We Are All Satoshi on: July 26, 2020, 11:50:58 AM
Dorian Nakamoto is not Satoshi Nakamoto, so far Satoshi Nakamoto do not have identity and he did not identify itself. It is possible that group of programmers that started bitcoin can be Satoshi. To me, with no identity of Satoshi, I will say anyone that developed bitcoin and buy it to support the value of bitcoin are Satoshi Nakamoto.

@Brainboss, ETN still dey o. I buy am wen dey come out for 2017 as I see that English football coach throw better support for am and as the first cryptocurrency for England too, I believed sey e go do well. But 2018 bear market come rub the project for ground. Na just last month I try check dem again and I come see sey dem still dey perform well. Although Richard (Developer) dey send me regular updates wey I nor dey even bother read. Now, I wan buy more. E dey cheap compared to wetin e go be once this bull run start again for 2020/2021
Electroneum na good coin, but one thing dey concern me be say the coin don increase price, the coin from a price slightly above $0.0025 skyrocketed to 0ver $0.013 in a month or two ago. E Possible say the coin fit increase at the current price in market, I had over 20 coins market on the exchanges I dey use, only ETN no increase in the recent bull run, that kind thing dey pain me. Bitcoin, ether, curio, crypterium and high ranked coin I marked all dey do good well but I still dey surprise ETN still dey red at a price of $0.00545 currently. If the coin no grow this time, when the coin go grow. But that thing they possible the coin fit still grow though because I never analyze ham on long term. Make we dey careful while dealing with the coin.
8343  Bitcoin / Mycelium / Re: Mycelium Wallet on: July 25, 2020, 10:45:31 PM
ios version has been abandoned. I suggest restoring from seed on android or using a bip39 compatible PC wallet like copay.
You can use the bip39 (seed phrase) on android but thinking to use it on laptop will not work because mycelium is only mobile compatible, it has no desktop version. If you need computer wallet.
8344  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Stolen money from Binance on: July 25, 2020, 01:50:52 PM
So sorry for your loss, but nothing can be done, there are several cases of hacked accounts like this, and mostly commonly to exchange. Exchanges are often hacked, and binance is not trustworthy. In 2019, many individual binance accounts were hacked, binance agreed to this and promise to strengthen it security, this could be the same case and it can be due to your carelessness as well. I will advice you not to use exchanges that have been hacked before like binance for trading, there are many exchanges that are reputed and safe that has never been hacked before.
But also know that to keep such amount, hardware wallets are the best options, you can easily send your tether to exchanges and make your trade and send your coins back to hardware wallet instead of risky your funds on exchanges. Exchanges are not safe means to store such large amount.
8345  Other / Ivory Tower / Re: Covid-19 could have been a lot worse - could a blood poisoning virus end us? on: July 25, 2020, 01:35:32 PM
Vaccines are designed to make people sick these days
About vaccines making people sick is very possible, but also the food we are consuming these days are the major reasons people immune system are getting weaker. Like you said, people are moving away from natural foods that can boost immune system and moving towards refined and generally modified foods which are not natural, the natural combination is different from artificial combination, some foods are planted this modern era by fertilizers which alter combinations in food planted that way. All these can lessen immune system.

About the use of vaccines, I do not know any proof that it could weaken immune system, but I know what is not nature will surely weaken body immunity, vaccines can have short term healing process but it could make humans weaken in long term, that is why we can not be healthier and stronger like our forefathers.

Other ways immune system are reduced are the environmental pollutants and ways of living.
8346  Other / Ivory Tower / Re: Covid-19 could have been a lot worse - could a blood poisoning virus end us? on: July 25, 2020, 08:28:33 AM
I have a question. How does a virus manage to contact people if it only travels through blood? Unless you're bleeding, blood and hence viruses stay inside your body. I still don't get how ebola was able to infect and kill so many people through this path.
Ebola virus infected many people not because people can be infected through blood, are are many other means this virus was able to be transmitted from person to person. The means of transmission of the virus are

1. Through blood
2. Through faces
3. Through vomiting

These are the most common means the ebola virus is able to transmit into another person. The virus is also communicable through other means like

1. Brest milk
2. Urine
3. Semen

Even in a male that is recovering into health still have the virus in his semen for over 70 to 90 days. In

In saliva and tears, scientists were inconclusive because the samples were small in size to their requirements, but study shows the virus in severe condition is found in patients saliva. In sweat, the virus was never found.

The virus can also be transmitted through previously contaminated surfaces.

Lastly, it is rear for the virus to be transmitted through coughing and sneezing, it is even said that it might not been spread this way.
8347  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Ponzi Schemes for dummies on: July 24, 2020, 11:19:40 PM
People can be so ignorant to what ponzi and pyramidal scheme are all about, about the high return, people are just greedy and like high return investment within a short term. It can be very hard at times to know a business is using investors money to pay investors because they scam in a way they sell fake products which makes it hard to know a business can be a ponzi, the best approach that I have noticed and best in order not to invest on ponzi scheme is the high yield return promised but not real. No legit business on earth that can offer too good to be real profits.
8348  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to secure crypto wallets on: July 24, 2020, 11:04:50 PM
Regarding 2fa, for each new creation, don't forget to save the approval code or screenshot to make it easier to move or add to the device.

taking screenshots or basically any form of digital copy of your secrets such as 2FA secret, passwords, private keys,... is a fatal flaw. you should always try to make a physical backup from these things that would be writing down your 2FA secret on a piece of paper instead.
This is right, if the back up is on phone, if the phone is damaged, the backup will damaged with it. Very possible on computers that malware can be installed by hackers to reveal backups on computers. Getting the backup on paper and laminating it is the best.
8349  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: D.C. Financial Services Law: Bitcoin is a form of money on: July 24, 2020, 06:59:02 PM
Bitcoin have many characteristics money have, regarding it as money is right, it is used for making payments which is the real function of money. If the decentralized currency (bitcoin) is regarded as money, it is good. I have a friend that have a mini store, I often dialogue with him to let me pay in bitcoin, he accepted and we are both cool with that. I got a friend abroad, he wanted to send me money, all in 20 minutes, I received bitcoin. I can convert it to fiat or spent as bitcoin. All these makes bitcoin to be regarded as money.
8350  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Best Bitcoin Wallet? on: July 24, 2020, 04:47:41 PM
Electrum of course without any doubt. Many would argue that bitcoin core is the best but electrum is go to WALLET for even grannies. I would recommend electrum to my grannies too.

The P2SH addresses are not truly segwit but a compatible address which can receive bitcoin from segwit, legacy and its own addresses.
Native segwit, nested segwit, legacy all of them are compatible for receiving and sending bitcoin to each other. Your post is kind of confusing, may be only to me. You said as if segwit can't receive btc from legacy and vice versa while it is not.
I have tried an exchange before using legacy address, the transaction was reversed back into the wallet two times until I used legacy address. But I have indirectly made a comment about it in the bitcoin technical support today and I was corrected.
8351  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Best Bitcoin Wallet? on: July 24, 2020, 01:26:57 PM
Edit: Oh yes forgot to add that both Mycelium and Electrum support bech32 addresses so are Segwit enabled. So that's a great add on.
To make this not confusing, bech32 addresses are the segwit addresses and all bitcoin bech32 addresses start with bc1. The P2SH addresses are not truly segwit but a compatible address which can receive bitcoin from segwit, legacy and its own addresses.

No. Any address can send to any other type of address. There are some centralized exchanges which don't support SegWit addresses, but that is because they are crap exchanges and has nothing to do with bitcoin itself.

The safest bitcoin wallets are hardware wallets like ledger nano s, airgapped devices and paper wallet but for convenience, hardware wallet is better. The best online is still the bitcoin core but many could not have access to having enough data to download the whole blockchain and go for electrum on both computers and mobile phones, and mycelium on phones.
8352  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Question on confirmation time and blocks on: July 24, 2020, 01:06:45 PM
It can be anything from 1 second to several hours. On average, 1 block is found every 10 minutes.
However, I have discovered that at a particular time of the day my transactions send faster than at any other time (even when I choose low priority fee), usually it's during midnight. I am wondering if there's any connection to that or just a coincidence.
I think during that time of the day, the mempool is not often congested. Another example people do mention is during the weekend, when the mempool is not congested compared to during the weekdays.

About sending from one segwit address to another segwit address, the transaction will be faster because there is increase in block size and the fee paid is lower compared to legacy addresses.

But I am confused about something, I thought before that sending from segwit to legacy or sending from legacy to segwit address will not work and the transaction will be reversed but compatible addresses that started with 3 are the bridge between segwit and legacy.
8353  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Disappearance of Blockchain BTC wallet balance on: July 24, 2020, 12:50:11 PM
I do not know why people will be using wallet that require email at first, and also people do complain more about blockchain wallet. You can try to contact their customer care again or check your balance on blockchain explorer using the public key.

If the balance is not seen on blockchain, you will need to recontact the customer care again but very likely your wallet is compromised. But I will advise you, if you can not use a full client wallet (bitcoin core) then use lightweight wallet like electrum.

I am confusing with it, honestly. How do you can recover your funds by creating another wallet? Another wallet means another seed, and sure your fund in wallet A can not be in wallet B.
Maybe he meant exporting bitcoin private key on blockchain wallet and importing it on another wallet like electrum. You have given appropriate advice.

The ivory tower is a board not related to bitcoin and altcoins, it rather belong to off topics, but that does not mean we should leave it and not post there. There are many useful threads there. I will like to encourage us to at least visit the board and make posts.

All boards on this forum are created for thread making purposes, so, creating threads on the board will be very good and makes it more active.

8356  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Question on confirmation time and blocks on: July 23, 2020, 11:51:10 AM
With 1 confirmation, transactions could be mined in the next block with high transaction fee, but with lower fee it could take few blocks before it is mined which means more confirmations.
I think you are still confused.

The transaction fee only determines how long it takes your transaction to be included in a block, and therefore achieve its first confirmation. Your transaction will have zero confirmations until it is included in a block. The higher the fee, the quicker it will be included in a block and therefore obtain one confirmation.

However, once it has a single confirmation, then the fee is irrelevant. Your transaction is not included in subsequent blocks - these blocks simply build on top of the block your transaction was included in. Each subsequent block will always increase the number of confirmations of all previous transactions by one.
For example, if someone pay a fee for his transaction to be included within the next 25 blocks (low fee), it means the estimated block his transaction will just be within the 25 blocks but the transaction could get first (1) confirmation before the 25th blocks. But, regardless of the block it got first confirmation, the fee paid is required for the first confirmation. Thanks, and hope I get it right this time.
8357  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Big decision by the OCC - Banks can now hodl Bitcoins. on: July 23, 2020, 11:27:26 AM
The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (USA) has allowed banks to hodl bitcoins on behalf of their clients
This is great because it will help bitcoin adoption, most people are novice and know nothing about bitcoin but to only hodl, this will be an advantage to governmental bitcoin control. But, bitcoin is decentralized, we can hodl our bitcoin ourselves which makes us to have full control of our bitcoin on blockchain rather than banks doing such for us. But I know many people will prefer banks to do that for them because they know nothing about bitcoin, this will truly help bitcoin adoption but could be the dawning of bitcoin taxation policies and bitcoin indirectly becoming centralized.
8358  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Question on confirmation time and blocks on: July 23, 2020, 10:38:24 AM
Besides, where do you read "after 10 confirmations the bitcoin sent will be completely mined"?
That was a reading mistake, and I have understood more about blocks and confirmation now.

With 1 confirmation, transactions could be mined in the next block with high transaction fee, but with lower fee it could take few blocks before it is mined which means more confirmations.

The remaining confirmations after the transaction is mine are for security and safety sake.
8359  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Question on confirmation time and blocks on: July 23, 2020, 08:28:14 AM
I am using electrum wallet, it has a fee control feature and also I noticed about more than 10 confirmations.

1. When I read about bitcoin confirmation, I read after 10 confirmations the bitcoin sent will be completely mined which means has full (10) confirmations but I still noticed after the recipient had received the bitcoin, I checked the transactions details the next day, and I saw 2099 confirmations which is more than 10. What caused this?

2. When I wanted to use the fee control, I saw target to be within the range of the next block for highest fee and 25 blocks for the lowest fee. What is the relationship of time of transactions with the blocks? If it the bitcoin is mined in the next block, what will be the clearance time? I mean time for full confirmation.

3. What is the relationship between blocks and numbers of confirmations.
8360  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: debit transaction, got me to zero on my wallet on: July 23, 2020, 07:52:41 AM
did it already happen to anybody?
what do you think it can be?
what do you think i gotta do?
Before what happened can be possible though if, you need to provide detailed information about your wallet as some of the ranked members has said, if you do not really understand, let me break it down for you in a simple rewordings:

1. Which wallet did you use to make the transactions?
2. Did you downloaded the same wallet?
3. Did you format your computer or phone before downloading another wallet?
4. Are you even mindful of to preventions which will make your wallet to be hacked?
5. Where did you back up your private keys and seed phrase?

You need to answer these before you can be answered.
