how the heck can it be allowed here to sell accounts?

What happened was as the hash to the left of the hole got smaller and the hash to the right of the hole got wider, your outflow and inflow was basically equal so there was not much change.  When the hash to the left completely dropped out of the picture your average hash at that point dropped drastically.  It should be building back up now as the hole slowly starts to shrink. Of course, that extra dip to the very right will slow that growth down also.

exactly - but up to yesterday mine was still trending down, though today the N average is going up but yes - the very right dropped again but that is because I took a miner offline yesterday due to selling it. The other 4 are still on though so it should climb back up, just to a lower value than the last time I was fully ramped up.

I am limited to how many miners I can operate so to make room for the new ones, I unfortunately have to sell the old ones first. I have T15's coming which I want to add to Kano's pool so I have begun to sell the 5 S9's currently allocated to Kano's pool in anticipation of the T15's which should be arriving within the next 30 days or so.

That will change when that hole in your graph, which you created, starts clocking its way off the edge.

Yes - I get that as that hole goes away it will go up, but there was also the other side of the hole, I was never fully ramped down so when I started back up I expected the N average to increase but it has steadily decreased. So, in my head be going up not down.

although as I sold a miner that was attached to this pool, it will go down now till the average reached the average of the 4 miners vs the average of the 5 miners.

The ramping back up was going faster for the time that 16V and lucky were mining, but it would also increase the ramp down time if you weren't mining on the pool as of then either.

It works both ways.  Right now it's a slow ramp up and down.

yep just wish it was going up not down, even though I have been back online since Feb 26th my N average is still dropping.

It's clearly not possible to find a block when you aren't mining, so I guessed he must have been referring to someone else.
So i just checked the numbers on the image to work out the username and (of course) it wasn't him.

gotcha - I cant do that behind the scenes checking as I can only see my numbers, but it makes sense that you can and its all good.

I think I actually caught it on the discord channel, Kano posted about it. Easy to see why you were confused.

Just keep plugging away and you'll get fully ramped up. You N average should keep climbing though, as long as you keep your miners pointed here. The reward will fluctuate with the pool size which has been a bit of a rollercoaster lately.

ahh discord, yea I read that occasionally so again that makes sense too!

as for the ramp up (ignore the last reward and my N average as I removed a miner just prior to that reward by a few hours) But I put 5 miners here on Feb 26th and the next block after that was March 7th and for the 2 blocks on the 7th and the 2 blocks on the 8th it was decreasing.

I thought it might have to do with the time before when I was still ramping down - between Feb 14th and Feb 26th - Maybe the time prior is falling off faster than I am adding back in. I believe this is what Kano was explaining to me the other day. So, I get that if that is the case, doesnt mean I like it lol - I mean who doesnt want to be fully ramped up at block find? lol But now I have only 4 miners here until the new ones arrive

S9j sold and en route to KEBKR other miners are still for sale.

The mention of no fees has been removed from the website. I apologize to those who felt I should have done more and thank those who were instrumental in having this change made. Perhaps down the line we will get a more detailed description of how the pool rewards are distributed.

they should have the detailed description up front, not down the road though. but yes, I do see that the zero fees has been removed.

Rabinovitch is asking this question on behalf of a non english speaking miner.

You thought correct you cannot find a block here if you are ramping down but have no miners connected to the pool. The paid shares for the 5nd ramp down are previously submitted shares.

ahh i didnt see where he quoted someone it looked like, to me at least, that he was asking about himself. but now that you clarify, I feel better lol I mean I am still looking at his post and cannot tell where he says it is on behalf of someone else, but I trust ya lol

I just wish my N average was going up instead of down with each block, I am ramping up but it's dropping Sad

mine on!

why do you say "she"? based on Rabinovitch's avatar I would say they are a "he" also profile says male.

that aside, I find it amazing that Rabinovitch was ramping down and basically like 99% ramped down as their N average was in the GH range when they found a block. I would have thought that while ramping down though as you are not technically connected to the pool that you would not be able to find a block.

Incredible, 4 blocks when my country plunges into a blackout... Hope there is no correlation!

maybe if the main pool for the guys that failed over to here for that time frame was in your country.

Well, I am ready that my post will be deleted, but I should try.

Is this a correct reward assignment? Even when I moved all my miners to another pool?

Shouldn't the amount of the reward smoothly decrease just as it gradually increased during my arrival to this pool?

Block by Rabinovitch with 140TH...nice! Cheesy

This is our 1st of BLOCK FRIDAY! Cheesy

I kept one S9, Inno T2 later and several TH of Pantech in solo for many monthes. Why there was no any blocks?.....  Cry

well for one thing, the pool went 18 days without a block, that whole time I assume you were ramping down because your N average went from 99 th to 94 then to 74 on the 3 blocks prior to the long stretch. had there been blocks in that 18 day stretch, you would have seen more rewards and thus it would appear smoother.

oh man and look at that, you hit the block while ramping down. the post you quoted says 140 TH but your N average for that block is only 39 gh so dont see how you would have had 140 TH on the pool at that moment - unless you put it all back for a short spell just long enough to hit the block and then back off again.

Gotta bring them all home and ride this great run of luck!

MINE ON WITH REMI AND KANO-SAN!

yes but I also have financial obligations which require steady payments and while it may be higher here some months it is not as steady so I have to leave some with the steady - maybe soon I will be able to afford to do otherwise.

I would love to use the avalon miners but I cringe when looking at their efficiency.

Everyone's reward is directly proportional to their 5Nd hash rate - on the Rewards page that's "Your N Avg"

So yes if your 5Nd average hash rate for the block says you are at 40THs and you get X BTC for that,
then if your 5Nd average was double that (80THs) then you'd have gotten double the BTC i.e. X times 2.

Also: the red line on the Shift Graph shows a reasonably accurate estimate of what the "Your N Avg" would be on the Rewards page, if we found a block now - it just doesn't include the current incomplete shift which will of course change it a bit.
But e.g. that current reward, 5Nd was almost 750 shifts, so one shift wont make much difference to that at the moment.

yes that makes sense and I gotta stop taking miners off of here to try other things lol I always use the set I have on here vs the ones on slush/viabtc/antpool etc Those all get regular payouts is prolly why but yea I would have made nearly $350 this month so far vs the near $200

and thank you for explaining.
8397  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [30-400PH] KanoPool kano.is 0.9%fee 3.9of10BTC giveaway 🐈 US,NL,JP,NYA,OR,DE,SG on: March 08, 2019, 06:22:02 PM
It is as simple as: it takes 5Nd to complete any changes.
If you kept the current hash rate, it would indeed be about half way to ramping back up.

But that 'half' isn't time.
The ramp itself is not time based, but hash based.
5Nd means 5x Network difficulty of hashes sent to the pool.

Since the pool hash rate is higher at the moment (but who knows when that will change), the Nd's are being chewed up quite a bit faster.

Edit: P.S. the reward has been processed now.

yes I get that its hash rated but I still (in my head) have to equate it to time. I realize that it constantly changes so all I can do is make estimated based on the average over a period of time.

and yes, I see the reward now Smiley

can you answer me on my other question on using the N average on the rewards page - I know we have the other page but I also look at that and if its showing about half of my hash rate instead of my true average - then I "know" that if I was fully ramped up I would have made about double the payment I just got.
8398  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [30-400PH] KanoPool kano.is 0.9%fee 3.9of10BTC giveaway 🐈 US,NL,JP,NYA,OR,DE,SG on: March 08, 2019, 05:52:22 PM

Well it's that width of the gap, but in Nd, not time.
So it simply depends on the pool hash rate how long it will be to complete the 'ramp' back up.

But really what's going on is it always takes 5Nd to change your hash rate (up or down)

The 'tank' concept is actually easiest to follow:
It's how full the 'green' tank is when we find a block (the Red line)
Each new shift, the line on the left drops out of the tank, and the new line on the right effectively replenishes it.
The difference between the two decides what the red line will do.

So at the moment your total 5Nd hash rate isn't changing much since on the very left it's similar to the right.
Once you hit the empty area on the left where nothing is leaking out, your hash rate on the right is always above the left (zero), so the 5Nd will start to go back up again.
Looks from that graph, less than a day at the current pool hash rate and your red line will be going up much faster.

the time I state is simply that time is between those two lines - which is 14 days of ramping down, so i was ramping down those 14 days - but I also got 4 payments during that time as well.

I am now looking at how long it is taking me to ramp back up, I have been ramping back up since the 26th which is now 8 days. The way I have always looked to see where I was on the ramp up/ramp down is on the rewards screen at my N average in comparison to my actual hash rate.

For the miners i have on this pool and at fully ramped up my N average is between 68-69, on the last block reward (block 566131 as 566208 does not show on the rewards page yet) my N average is 37 so from my viewpoint about half where it should be so I would be at about halfway to being fully ramped up?

Or am I looking at this all wrong?

Click on the "time lines" box at the top of the graph to see the 'squares' Sonny is talking about.

And, Mine On!

ahh ok - yea, never clicked that one before, it shows me about 21 "squares" after I turn off the shift lines. so 21 x 7 is 147 hours which is still 4 more days - i have been ramping back up since Feb 26th so almost 10 days so far so another 4 or so to go - rewards will be much better by then. but I am also going to lose a miner tomorrow - due to a sale  and will not be receiving my new miner for about a month (sold an S9j and bought a T15) I hope to sell the other 4 S9's I have on Kano pool and replace them with T15's as well. that will bring my hash up and power usage down. Increase that small profitability just a little bit more Smiley

woot another block! we almost have 4 within a 24 hour window!
