No blocks were mined on BTC network for a whole hour. Network slowest since fork.

Are you ignoring all the times BCH took 3-6 hours continuously to find a block

Huge jump in BCH hashpower (+4 Eh, all-time high) over the past few days:

https://fork.lol/pow/hashrate

interestingly, this does not correlate with an EDA adjustment. But it does correlate with the price jump.

Also interestingly, this time it does not correlate with a price crash. Which means that this new hashpower is holding onto their newly-mined BTC.

Pretty much all the BCH miners are holding on most of the used wallets have remain untouched

What is interesting though this time is F2 Pool seems to have moved a huge amount of hashing power over and with them being pro core it's to be seen if they will dump all these accumulated BCH coins for BTC as soon as the hyper round ends

What is the date of ICO?

There is no ICO ?

If you mean when the Gold MainNet goes live then it should be early November
844  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bitcoin Cash - Fork 1:1 of Bitcoin - Pro on-chain scaling - Cheaper fees on: October 28, 2017, 07:25:30 PM
In my humble opinion, only "Bitcoin" and "Bitcoin Cash" are the real deal so I don't hold any other coins. Also coinomi felt too "commercially" when I tried it. It had advertisement for other coins and ICO inside of it. It did NOT feel like "my" private wallet at all.

same as mycelium, and mycelium has more crap plastered over it sometimes.

it's cheesy but these people have to eat. there are programmers to pay, servers and nodes to run. i'd prefer it if they charged a one time fee myself and i'd happily pay it.

coinomi works fine for me too.

Hardware all the way unless you can afford to loose everything

Only keep in a online wallet what you can afford to loose personally I just have sentinel installed (from the creators of samurai wallet) this is not a wallet as such as you cannot spend you can only import your public key or xpub and it just keeps track of your wallets and generates new receiving addresses from your xpub which is a perfect use for a hardware or paper wallet

If BCC is better than BTC in terms of features than why the price is not even 10% of BTC price
Because it name is BCC not BTC. and i do not think it will replace BTC

It's actually BCH as stated on the official website

I read that the BX2 fork could kill BTC if enough miners followed it.   This fork would certainly be a centralizing influence if it succeeds.   Without replay protection BTC could be attacked.

Presumably BTG will get replay protection in place and therefore could serve as the new 'real' bitcoin if BTC was under too much pressure.   And 'core' and the community thought it was needed.

Therefore it would be sensible to hold the BTGs (whether you like the fork or not) as a hedge against this possible attack being successful.

I've got to say that I only half understand what I'm writing about  Embarrassed but that seems to be the gist of the many, many hours of surfing and reading that I'm doing!

1. If B2X got most of the hashing power then yes it could possibly kill off BTC but the chances of this happening are pretty low it may be a short term inconvenience but the miners will follow the most profitable chain and on launch B2X will be running at the FULL bitcoin difficulty so will need to have a pretty large value just to be profitable for the miners

2. Yes BTG will have replay protection and is due to be merged on github within the next 2 or 3 days as for saying that bitoingold could become the new bitcoin this is highly unlikely to happen but should see huge gains for early adopters

OK  What about this?.......

B2x gets launched with a typical pump.

But the pump doesn't stop - Pentagon missing $10 trillion, Fed off balance (missing) $9 trillion.  I don't believe everything I read but where there's smoke there's fire.  So just saying.  One trillion dollars is 10X the market cap of bitcoin or to put another way - about a 1000X the 24 hour trade turnover.  Crypto currencies are still tiny compared to the amount of fiat currency in the system.    A tiny % of what is out there could make an enormous difference.

So the pump carries on long enough that most miners see the (apparent) light and turn to B2X and the majority of BTC holders get worried and start to sell.

Maybe I"m being paranoid?   Having read the reddit discussion about the DCG (main driving force behind B2x) and that one of their directors is also a director of the federal reserve: I have serious issues believing anything that is proposed by B2X can be of benefit to the bitcoin idea of fairness and self regulation.

Well we're only a couple of weeks away so not long to wait but I do not see any of that happening
847  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bitcoin Cash - Fork 1:1 of Bitcoin - Pro on-chain scaling - Cheaper fees on: October 28, 2017, 05:08:50 PM
My Trezor BTC transaction with Normal fee is stuck because before sending it I didnt look at network status and lo and behold BCH EDA is activated again and miners switched to BCH because diff is to easy again. After 8 hours it will readjust again.
Any news regarding EDA fix/upgrade?

There is supposedly a hard fork next month to implement a different difficulty adjustment but how it goes is to be seen

It does not seem to have consensus as some seem to deem the EDA superior  Huh while others are annoyed that the devs decided on the best implementation of the new DA without the users having a vote while others think it should just use the standard DA of bitcoin
848  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bitcoin Gold : Make Bitcoin Decentralized Again on: October 28, 2017, 03:10:20 PM

Running all 3 bitcoin clients at once is fun, can't wait to run 4 Wink

from where you got the wallet of gold? it's not available anywhere

Probably built from source that is available on github but not final and not recommended as it will be incompatible with the final version

the final build have replay protection? because i see that the build from github is without the replay protection

I much curious on what the hell is Bitcoin ABC  Huh

Bitcoin Cash

BCC is going up after fork already. Maybe will pass 400$ but who knows ?Smiley

I want keep more than 100BCH in the most safest place except hardware wallet for around 10 years , Can you please guide me where i hold it?

Why not a hardware wallet that is the safest place following that then paper wallet

1 -Is it right that paper wallet will be empty at first transfer? if yes then what i have to do if i want spend few BCH a day
2 -I generated paper wallet on http://bccaddress.org/ , Is it trustable?
3 -With what software i can transfer funds in BCH ?

Regards

1. You don't have to empty a paper wallet on first transfer but by making a payment from it you need to import the private key to a online wallet removing it's high security element
2. I can't comment on bccaddress just seems a fork/clone of https://www.bitaddress.org which has been around for a long time both sites create a valid BCH privkey
3. There are various wallets BitcoinABC is the official full node client but will require a huge download of the blockchain or SPV wallets like Electron Cash that do not require you to store the entire blockchain

I generated papaer wallets , Where i import them ?

most if not all wallets will allow you to import the privatekey of a paper wallet or at least sweep all funds

BCC price is growing.

It's BCH now it's been officially changed

Tekmobile supporting BitCon Gold , now that is funny.

BitCon Gold has already dropped below $90 on the future markets on some exchanges, at this rate it should be Zero by Monday.
Most exchanges are refusing to even support their con attempt.

╥Aztek

I'm all over the place and these are still higher than expected right now due to being stuck in futures with no way out until the mainnet goes live only then will we see the true value I wouldn't say im a supporter as im not planning on buying any but I do have half a dozen GPUs that will be put to work

It's still going to be a Top10 coin and with current value be at #7 or #8 and if it does make it back to it's initial pump which I doubt it will then it will take #3 spot

Also quite funny that you should post link saying okex will support BCH and they support BTG already

Bitcoin Cash just hit over $400 , someone should go check on Tekmobile, he probably fainted.

╥Aztek

It was expected to increase again it's just took much longer than I was expecting

Replay protection
We have spent several hours on the pull request for replay protection: https://github.com/BTCGPU/BTCGPU/pull/55. This method of replay protection is sufficient to keep all transactions safe from replay attacks, and we are very likely to merge this pull request in the upcoming days. In addition to that pull request, we received another pull request from an anonymous contributor for a different implementation of replay protection: https://github.com/BTCGPU/BTCGPU/pull/83. We will award him or her the bounty because the code meets the requirements originally described in the bounty: https://github.com/BTCGPU/BTCGPU/issues/51.  We are very encouraged with the success our bounty program has already achieved in the very early days of this project.

so we canīt create a BTCG wallet at moment or?

thx

at this moment there is only https://glatinum.info wallet but it's not trusted.
better to wait till 1st Nov to see more trusted wallets.

Why the 1st of November? There's a plan for a wallet?

You probably won't see any until the network goes live
859  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bitcoin Gold : Make Bitcoin Decentralized Again on: October 28, 2017, 01:10:24 AM
Already sold my coins early and now it's will take very long time for another pump but not sure about when it will happen or not. I don't think this team is capable to bring some volume in coming days and other people will get chance to sell this at high price.

Well I'm going to hold onto my Bitcoin Gold. Yes, yes, I know you all think this is an idiotic idea but when the miners start to come online in a couple of weeks or so the price will pick up.

Once the network goes live then yes there should be a pickup but hopefully not too fast it's going to probably take a month to settle down

Never underestimate the GPU miners
860  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bitcoin Gold : Make Bitcoin Decentralized Again on: October 27, 2017, 06:32:03 AM
There is no wallet yet ready .

When are wallets to be expected? I mean binaries for Windows, Mac, Linux?

Probably early november there will be the full node wallet from the day the network goes live and other supporting wallets like coinomi should also be available from day 1 or possibly a few days later
