841  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou Boxing October 28 on: August 30, 2023, 02:44:10 PM
It will be struggle for Francis Ngannou because nobody did cracked Fury before and that is also one of the obvious reasons why most people don't believe that the MMA fighter can make a difference in this fight. Not this time. But I'm still looking forward to see a good fight between the two of them.

I'm inclined as well that this will be a good fight because Ngannou is not that unknown after all, even if he is not from the boxing industry. He can somehow make the fight worth it even though the upper hand is not with him and of course he knows that but still, he is still eager and confident enough that he can make a difference. You know, even the slightest hand still stand a chance.
Ngannou is training with one of the best boxers in the history of the sport, so he can shock the boxing world and spectators with a win over Fury. Even with all the experience Fury has got, it is not going to be an easy fight for him because Ngannou is also going for the win in this fight and even if he looses will not make the fight easy for Fury. Some few weeks to the fight, both fighters will be studying the moves and tactics of each other as well as training physically, and eating right for the fight. If you bet on Ngannou, you can make a lot of money if he wins.

It's a different sports discipline for Francis though, yes he has background maybe in stand up, but this is very different for him. And even if he has the best trainers in the world, if he can't execute the game plan it's going to be over for him.

Of course, if there are gamblers who love to bet on the underdog then Francis Ngannou will be there guy. As Fury might be the overwhelming favorite here and ML might not be worth to take a risk.
842  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: hmmm fishy on: August 30, 2023, 01:39:54 PM
Hello everybody

this wallet transaction was made before BTC get higher !!
This address has received 32,600 BTC in the last 2 days

[..snip..]

Strange isnt? its like they knew it would be more than 25K as it was for the last few days

who are they anyway?

any thoughts guys?

Unless you really know who the person behind that address, then you can say that it is fishy. But who knows, that's only an address and we can't deduce who are the person/s with that addresses.

Maybe it was just an exchange, or some big whales consolidating everything.

So there's nothing strange on that one, there could be others too who move their bitcoins without seeing the big incoming movement.
843  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 - Betting and Discussions on: August 29, 2023, 09:07:42 PM
The Philippines are facing a tough challenge against Italy. Despite being ranked as the top team in this group, Italy suffered a loss to the Dominican Republic. As a result, they now need a victory to secure their spot in the second round. This situation poses a significant challenge for the Philippines. From what I've gathered, the Philippines must win by at least 13 points to advance to the next round. Given these circumstances, it appears that Italy might have the upper hand and could secure an easy win, what are your thoughts?

Italy was the top order team in the FIBA World Cup.Italy already lost to the Dominican Republic in the previous match was big drawback to them in their group. So to keep them in top order, they need to win the Philippines.Philippines was not the huge target for the Italy. Now it seems Italy going to win the match against Philippines. The Dominican Republic already top the Group A,Italy should beat the Philippines and Angola in the upcoming matches. The score between Italy and Philippines was very close win 90-83.Hope the Philippines also get back from the crash.

The outside shooting of the Italians are the key to their victory. It's just bad to see the host nation getting axed and not qualify for the next round. But still though, as we have said, they love basketball and I remember a question on Reaves on the reception he is getting and the local reporter even says that this is a extension of Laker nation as the country has history of Lakers player visiting more than once like Kobe and Lebron.
844  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is not going to $12k. on: August 29, 2023, 08:53:37 PM
Yes as it is, bitcoin is good for some persons, so it is all a bull and no always bear because the price will rise up again. Those who joined few months back see the market as bull though the time they entered and the price they met would tell the bull for them. It is better we know the tome, and the price of the market when we are entering the market at the very first time. That will help you in the future bitcoin analysis.

The price of Bitcoin will not reduce to 12$k or 8$k before the next halving and the up coming bull market. I even doubted the 15$k again before these two events will take place. Though speculations will be made but bitcoin is unpredictable, it is not possible again for bitcoin to reduce itself to that level.

Yes, and just look at the price right now, almost 6% increased in the last 24 hours, I haven't check the news though, was caused this bounce back, but it was just about time that at the end of this month, we will see some recovery.

And then we have witnessed the lowest low already. And hopefully there are speculators who take advantage of it and at least bought during the dip because that's what we are preaching.
845  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 27, 2023, 04:31:50 AM
What do you think about the Warriors signing Blake Griffin to a 1 year deal at the minimum to make a CP3 lob city reunion? I think it’s a great idea from a business perspective and I also think it’s a great use for your final roster spot. CP3 and Griffin definitely have a chemistry that makes them more dangerous when paired together.

https://clutchpoints.com/nba-rumors-warriors-eyeing-blake-griffin-chris-paul-reunion-to-complete-roster
I am not sure if it makes sense. First of all we all know they are not lob city anymore, Blake Griffin doesn't dunk like that anymore at all, they are nowhere near that level anymore, he shoots most of the time and hasn't been that great for a long time.

Yes, and he developed this kind of 3 point shooting when he was traded to Detroit, he was very effective then, but he lost his jumping ability that he is known for during his prime. But he was a beauty to watch when he was in Clippers as he posterized a lot players back then.

Secondly, CP3 is still not a smart choice if you ask me, you should not get him as a second unit leader, he was a great player all up until this season and suddenly this season he will be a bench player? You have Curry there, you can't make them both play together all that frequently, so what's going to happen? It is going to be a tough deal and lets see what happens but I think both CP3 and Blake Griffin situation is a weird one and should not be considered good additions.

I think he will be in the second unit for the Warriors, maybe coming off the bench to give relieved to Curry. Maybe they can play both at the same time. But for Griffin, it's not going to be good for him, it's a far stretch if he will be given like 10 minutes to play every game by Steve Kerr.
846  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Oleksandr Usyk VS Daniel Dubois For The Undisputed heavyweight champion on: August 27, 2023, 04:08:22 AM
It's a bit controversial though, whether it was a low ball or not, that is the big question. And then he gave Usyk all the time in the world to recover from that. And it seems that Dubois exposed Usyk weaknesses, that is the body shot and clearly whenever Dubois clips his in the side he will always look at the referee as if to tell that it's another low ball which clearly it's not.

So I guess Tyson Fury will have to do his side and beat Francis N. next fight so that they can all set up a mega fight in Saudi Arabia as what Eddie Hearn has been telling us. Wilder vs AJ, and then Usyk vs Fury.

It's not a controversial blow it's a borderline punch based on this angle it's not a low blow and when you say below the belt it should be below the belt based on all the screenshots of this tweet it really is a legal punch, I remember one referee saying before the fight if it's on the belt it's legal and anything below it it's illegal,
Dubois has a claim for the title I don't think Usyk can get up on time if it is ruled a legal blow, obviously, the referee is partial to Usyk based on his action in the ring

https://twitter.com/DanCanobbio/status/1695558685546729545

But that is the point of contention here right? so if you says that it is not a low blow but the referee calls it like that then it's a controversial isn't it? And that's what probably the Dubois camp is claiming, it's not a low blow and so it could be considered a knockout and then Dubois can pounce Usyk that time. But the referee considered it a low blow and then allowed Usyk to recover from that. So yeah, it could be that Usyk is really set up to win here and maybe the referee is part of it and as what others have said, it's very corrupt practice by governing bodies in boxing.
847  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Security measures in casinos are better than exchanges! on: August 26, 2023, 12:12:51 PM
Of course, this two platforms have the best security measures in the world because it deals with huge money to begin with. But the hackers have been described as one step of the game, so regardless which one has the best security measures, they can still hack it if they want. For sure both exchanges and casinos have teams to monitor everything in their system and flag if they see some suspicious activities.

But still depends on the criminals, as they love to target exchanges because of the huge money in their wallets that they can easily hack.

849  Economy / Speculation / Re: Impact of bitcoin price speculations on individual bitcoin holding on: August 26, 2023, 11:08:32 AM
So my question is, what has been the impact of Bitcoin market speculation on your Bitcoin/DCA approach on the Bitcoin accumulation journey?

For me? None, as you have said, it's DCA so regardless of the price then you will have to buy at certain put to continue what you have started. Of course when the price goes down, you might accumulate an additional sats.

But the end goal here is accumulation, so you do whatever phase you can whatever the price will be and just continue with it and fatten your wallet as much as you can thru DCA strategy.
850  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Past 3 days what did you brought in the crash? on: August 25, 2023, 02:10:17 PM
Only Bitcoin and ETH for me that's it.

I don't want to dig deeper on some altcoins right now, although I still have like 3-5 altcoins in my wallet, I'm satisfied by it and holding in my wallet and just wait for the next bull run.

So BTC And some ETH as this crash and then I will continue to do DCA for BTC again.
851  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cockfighting? on: August 25, 2023, 01:31:54 PM
In our country, they were legal like 2-3 years ago but then the government finally decided to stop and make them illegal because of the series of kidnappings due to this type of game. Despite that, there have been a lot of new websites/apps that have come out but they don't have a license to operate so that means they're illegally operating and they will be held behind bars if they get caught. That's possible that in some other countries, they could also face jail time if one has but it differs from each country. But I am just telling that maybe you should change your game if you wanna gamble.
This also happened in the country where I live, because initially cockfighting was claimed as a cultural heritage that had been preserved for a long time, but because money was used for each cockfight and cockfighting was made a means of gambling, the government revoked the legal permit about cockfighting and consider it a form of gambling activity, plus there are groups of community organizations that consider cockfighting to be an activity that tortures animals so they reject the legal permit.
After all, there are only a few gamblers who really like betting on cockfighting, considering that cockfighting is a type of bet that is difficult to predict which one will win.

The thing with cockfighting is that it is very hard to monitor by the government. Yeah, in the beginning specially in the pandemic they allow it because it is money generating for them.

But as we have go back to normal now, they have to crack it down as there are reports that people missing or being killed because of money and there are a lot of crooked cops and even congressman and politicians that are involved.

As for beginning, it's almost 50/50 bet. So it's either you got lucky and bet on the winner or not.
But if it's just a cockfighting event which tends to be small or there are only a few groups, it's still mostly done in some remote rural villages and there is also money at stake for every cock that is fought.
Even so, we can still bet on fiat casinos if we want to bet on cockfights in every event carried out by several countries such as Thailand, Vietnam and the Philippines.

It is true that many criminal cases occur only because of disputes over betting money and in the past the security forces or the police were involved in betting on fights which were still held freely.
Everything is because of money and in every cockfighting bet there is a percentage share for the police who back up the cockfighting event.

What I'm saying is that the games are approved by the government, for example the Philippines which is mentioned by the OP.

You can read it here:

Quote
Six people have been charged over the kidnapping of a group of people linked to the world of cockfighting in the Philippines.

The group of six is thought to have been abducted on their way to a fight in the capital Manila in January.

It's part of a wave of mysterious disappearances to hit the industry, which is a popular betting sport.

Taxes from livestreamed cockfights helped the government replenish its finances after the Covid pandemic.

But former President Rodrigo Duterte eventually banned online fights, while allowing traditional cockfighting to resume.

https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-64074474

And most likely this is what the OP is asking, not just street cockfighting, it's a fight that is beam online wherein you can bet on it.
852  Economy / Speculation / Re: 1 Bitcoin will be $173,566 before November, 2025 on: August 25, 2023, 01:20:02 PM
IMO even doubling the last bull market peak, also known as the ATH, is too ambitious. Over 93% of coins are already mined, it's about time for the market to stop caring about halvenings. I think it will peak at slightly above $100K for a small period, and there will be a lot of profit taking during this psychological barrier. And in the next bull run the price might even fall below $70K, because we already have a precedent of the price falling below the previous peak, when it crashed to $16K and $20K (2017 ATH) failed to act as support.

Yes, just like what we thought in the last 2 previous bull runs, 2017, we say that it can reach $50k, and in the last great bull run, we are looking at $100k. So it's very different from what we predicted and what the market does.

Maybe at $100k we can see profit taking already and we can understand that. At least it will be a big accomplishment if we see 6 digits as our all time high in 2024-2025.
853  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casinos Should Also Be Prepared For Health Emergencies on: August 25, 2023, 12:42:08 PM
I'm also sure that for an international casino class they definitely provide a first aid kit. However, the first aid kit will not help people with heart attacks at all, the best way is to take them directly to the hospital.

Yes, I agree with you and the previous comments that the casino probably had a first aid kit but that it did not include a defibrillator. In large organisations it is not uncommon for there to be a defibrillator for every x number of people and at least some people are trained to use it if necessary.

However, I imagine that statistically it is very rare, and that it is not just because of one case that casinos the size of this one are going to be forced to have defibrillators and train their staff.
Yes.. maybe it's a new assignment for casino establishments that they have defibrillators in case a visitor has a history of heart disease.

But this is also a warning for us not to go to the casino alone. We will never know what will happen to us next. Therefore it is important for us to always be vigilant, alert and always anticipate the possibilities that will occur.

Someone's selfish attitude and greed make them choose to go to the casino alone because they don't want to lose. Because if they get a victory they have to share it with their friends.

Yeah, if I'm not mistaken, the casino's that I have been, they have like complete set of health workers with heavy equipment ready in case that something went wrong in their casinos.

I personally witnessed it once and they are quick to response in such kind of emergencies and they don't like to have this kind of situations on their floor. And I was told that emergency health personnel are there 24x7 being paid by casinos. So not sure how this casinos are not prepared or at least look the machines to help their customers in such situations.
854  Economy / Speculation / Re: How passionate are you buying Bitcoin now? on: August 24, 2023, 12:52:25 PM
I have never been passionate making any investment than I am buying Bitcoin of recent. While a part of me is so optimistic that I am making the best decision with my funds, a part still entertain some fears. Well, I feel the aspect of fear is normal since I am not buying with 'spare money' as some people will call it... that concept of spare money does not really resonate with me as every penny I have is very important to me now.

Actually, my little buys might not influence the price much but my joy is having Bitcoin and holding unto it with the believe I will be among those that will look back sometime in the future and congratulate myself for taking that bold step when some people were doubting and panicking.

I draw my inspiration from the saying: "you will regret more for opportunities you never took than those you took and they went bad"

Yes, so true, and specially in bitcoin investment, this is not a race, like 100 meter dash, but a marathon. So it's going to be a long and hard grind but every small steps are very important, like just stacking sats that might turn out to be big in the future.

So just continue with your journey, I know that it's going to be very mentally tough for each and everyone of us. But hey, if we have a dream then definitely, we can go and chase that one big dream of ours and maybe we will have 1 BTC in our wallet.
855  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: After FTX collapse, some call for a return to decentralized roots on: August 24, 2023, 12:24:01 PM
Traders will never go to trade on the DEX exchange because there is simply not enough functionality there. All these talks are only led by hodlers. If you are just a coin hodler, it doesn't make much difference to you where to buy or sell them. If you make transactions every day or trade on the futures market, you need CEX.

Or simply put there is no liquidity in DEX, so that is one cons against using them and that is one reason why we are still in CEX despite the many so issues like hacking and losing funds and scams.

And as much as we love DEX in the beginning, I don't think that we can simply go and switch from DEX-CEX, it's not going to happen overnight. And I don't think it will happen in the next 10 years or so.

857  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Oleksandr Usyk VS Daniel Dubois For The Undisputed heavyweight champion on: August 24, 2023, 11:05:26 AM
If Usyk wins here he should face Tyson next so the heavyweight belts should be consolidated so we'll have one undisputed champion.

If only Fury wont retire after a big juicy check after Ngannou fight Cheesy Fury mentioned here and there that he is about to put gloves on the wall.

It could be a trick, there's a lot of unfinished business, he still hasn't united all the belts, and his countryman is asking for an all-British showdown if Ngannou beats him or the match is a draw I'm sure he will opt for a rematch, id he finish all of these with success then he will go down in history as the greatest heavyweight champion and the great British heavyweight champion and even if he retires after the Ngannou fight, a lot of people will call him out to get out of retirement.

Fury as an undefeated heavyweight champion will always get a challenge, he will not enjoy his retirement because there are so many tasks that need to be done, he is not getting any younger if he finishes all these tasks, then he can retire without thinking that he has not done what he needs to do when he was still active.

Indeed Fury has unfinished businesses, but wont Usyk earlier this year offered him a fight? Right after Fury TKOed Chisora, Usyk stepped in the ring. I remember there were announced two possible reasons - they did not find agreement in payment, and Usyk wanted a rematch clause in contract, while Fury didnt.

I am not sure Fury is 100% focused in boxing right now. All that drinking issues, a fight against Ngannou, now on Netflix tv show about Fury is aired. It looks he is only about money, but not gaining all the belts.

If I'm not mistaken, Usyk camp says that Fury and his team are offering a not so good paycheck for them and that's why the fight didn't progress at all. Yes, he step up in the ring and Fury was shouting but Usyk just stand their stoic and with no emotions as well, and yet he looks very scary when he confronted Tyson Fury.

So let's see here, both seems to have a tune up fight, here Usyk against Dubois and then we will have Fury against Francis N. next.

And if both of them wins then we will see as Eddie Hearn says, might be in Saudi Arabia for their fight.
858  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New bull market or new bear market ahead? on: August 23, 2023, 05:34:26 PM
SpaceX dumped Bitcoin recently so the drop isn't anything unexpected, I reckon we'd have stabilized at the 25, 26k range right now and would once again go on sideways for a few weeks before another move (hopefully up back again). On the bullrun, I'm expecting it to happen a year to a year and a half from now, so still pretty far. I'm at that phase where I'm still steadily accumulating, so the dips every now and then are pretty much good favors for me since I can buy more coins in a low price (since I DCA).

Are you sure about your comment? So far, the news has only speculated about bitcoin crash few days ago conducted by SpaceX. Until there's financial reporting released by SpaceX, we will never know the reality. This might just be an issue created by the media to induce panic selling. However, if you have evidence that yesterday's situation was caused by SpaceX, i will believe it. If not, just wants to remind you, not too believe in media about crypto price, because they are very often spreading a FUD.

Yes, and so we are not sure why everyone is talking about Elon Musk or his SpaceX as the reason of the current dump. In any case, we are still in the bear market technically, and so that will remain for now.

If we are talking about a bull market then it should start right after the bitcoin block halving. So don't be surprised if we see the price continue to decline throughout the year, we are still in the bear market so we need to understand that and hopefully we shouldn't be listening to these FUD are Elon Musk and his supposedly selling out huge amount of bitcoin because this news is like a broken record already.
859  Economy / Speculation / Re: Take your eyes off from the fall in price on: August 23, 2023, 05:21:25 PM
^^ I wouldn't say that the price is discouraging though, we have been in this kind of price movement, and compare to the lowest low for this bear market, the current price is still good in my opinion.

I was quite surprised that we are not looking to be in the green side in the last 8 hour time frame, so it's encouraging to me and at $26,550. I wouldn't be surprised if we went and goes to $27k at least before the end of this month.
860  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 23, 2023, 01:53:38 PM
I don’t know how serious the trade scenario of Karl Anthony Towns for Damian Lillard was, but apparently it was serious enough for Portland to comment that they don’t want KAT. I’m a little surprised by that, as I don’t think they’re going to be able to get a better player for Dame, but maybe they just want lots of draft picks or something.

That is a big sign that the Portland Trail Blazers are now looking forward to rebuild their team and carve out a new franchise image from the future picks they could get out of Dame because they specifically denied the Timberwolves request in giving KAT and some other future trades in-exchange for Dame Lillard.
Furthermore, Blazers are seems to be still sticking with what Dame wants by giving the Heat a chance to make a good trade but up to now, there are still no signs that both teams are going to agree with something to make it a done deal.

I think when Dame requested trade, the Trail Blazers realized that it's time for them to move forward. And most likely it was that sign, so the y sign Jeremi Grant with a huge contract and perhaps he will be their next corner store for their franchise.

But they don't want to give up their future picks and that could be the problem that they are facing right now. Maybe Miami is demanding some future picks to them that they can't really decide whether to take that risk or not.
