841  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] QIBUCK COIN - X13 - POS/POBH - 1st Proof of Baghold and asset backed. on: October 04, 2014, 05:11:16 PM
I'm concerned. I'm going to sell my coins. If all this coins do to promise profit is mining and trading other coins then there is no future in qbk. I'm sorry, but this is too much of a gamble for me.
What if they have a bad day or week or month of trading, then there will be no profits for the investors but I bet the core team will still get paid.

This is a ponzi scheme. It's using future traders to buy into this coin. It's like what this crook Bernie Madoff did...
Good bye group. Nice knowing you and good luck to the rest of you.

Even if all the QBK holders sold their coins, we would still have assets left but you are most welcome to go and invest in another coin of your choice, we hold no one with a ball and chain. We will give a list of all wallets holding the assets at the end of the monthly audit date and after we have paid all the bagholders.

I sold what I had in several batches, only had a little over 400 coins. If ponzi scheme is not the right term, then my limited english is prohibiting me from coming up with the right term.
If all QBK holder sold coins, then you wouldn't have to pay people monthly dividends which would be great for you. Your assets are based on your trading strategies and betting you would make money on those trades. I understand you have some reserves which can cover loses but how far can you go with that if crypto markets go into  downward trends and you cant execute profits on trades.
And you did take time off, you took a holiday in August to move. Just wondering where that money came from?
This will be my last post on this qibuck forum thread. being told not to leave criticism is like removing freedom of speech. I live in a country which prohibits freedom of speech and I can't wait to move.

Crying 'Ponzi scheme' after you traded the coin for profit(or not) is unfair.  Had they not paid the monthly bonus or ran off with your money, then; yes, you would have a case.

The logistics of keeping an accurate and up-to-date ledger is going to be an ongoing nightmare for this team.  Most certainly, the trading department. Its going to be a struggle to prove or show accurate and detailed information on trades, profits, and losses. This alone, will open the door to people questioning the finances.

I have not looked recently. Has there been a balance sheet posted that shows profit/loss, expenses, etc. over a month?  If not posted; it should be made accessible to shareholders or coin owners in this case. Ambiguous entries showing so-and-so got btc for this and that is not going to fly.

Qibuck coin is a high risk investment without a doubt. I was not impressed with IPO funds being used for trading other coins. Even the whale/backer/professional trader person gave up and sent the 10 btc back. Obviously, the trading went bad or he pocketed profits for himself. No way of knowing without accurate bookkeeping.

Strange movie no doubt.

Big drop in price. My sources tell me the whale (backer) of this coin dumped his stash and abandoned qbk.

Could be a good buying opportunity if the coin can stand on its own. I know the team has been trying to keep prices stable with buy backs, but sooner or later that will end.

That is not hype Mega. That is awesomeness.

Would love to have that wallpaper!

We need a hype man.

While I do find hype distasteful, Vert is definitely understated.

The developers should be open with regards to a name change.

I like the vision for this coin but name is 99%.

849  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to keep your bitcoins secure if you suddenly disappear (jail or prison) on: September 10, 2014, 03:35:03 AM
Good question.

1. No internet access in prison ( I assume). Storage in the cloud or email account is out of the question. They time out, cease operating, or have technical issue, and everything is erased or lost.

2. Paper wallet. Paper burns, melts when wet, and degrades fast over time. Spot of mold in the right place and its hooped.

Encrypted wallet.dats placed into encrypted archive. This archive, then placed in another encrypted archive.  One could put these encrypted archives onto cds and flash drives. Bury some, give some to relatives, buy a safety deposit box in a bank, etc.  This is not full proof either. A strong magnet can corrupt cds and memory. Example: your relative hides the cd behind his stereo speaker.

Then you would have to memorize three good passwords. What happens if you get bonked on the head in prison? So, you have to hide these three passwords somewhere safe before you go in. You place them in an encrypted archive .... yadda yadda yadda .....

Then you have to remember one good password to get access to your previous three passwords. It goes on and on. But it could work. LOL.

I'll give you one thing synechist. You are the king of rhetoric.

Don't take it the wrong way. It is a talent.

Imagine if you owned a ton of stock in a high-end luxury car company. But the lead designer/developer of these high-end cars, is paid by low-end car companies in his spare time, to review their car's features and release a statement like "this low-end car's features are safe and well made" (resulting in an immediate increased demand for the low-end car company's stock, because they received a stamp of approval from a high-end company). Then the plan is, by continuing to legitimize and confirm the quality of their low-end competitors, the demand for the high-end car's stock will eventually go up because the public will respect their expertise for confirming the quality of other cars? Seriously? As an investor in the luxury car company, you may hope that they use their higher quality as a competitive advantage, leveraged to increase the distance between them and their low-end competitors. Instead the company is actively promoting the quality of their competitors and closing that gap. Then trying to further justify it by saying its good for the industry and will help keep consumers safe? How about we market how much better our own technology is, try to entice consumers to buy our product, which can provide them with that high level of safety and confidence that is lacking in the industry. I can't blame Dan for wanting to make money, but damn. At least be honest in the statement and say "hey Dan is going to use his knowledge to review the code of some other coins for a little extra income". It doesn't take a business guru to see that this is not effective promotion for XC.

Very well said.

Thanks to those who answered my query about USD deposits disabled.

For some reason I cannot quote posts and the thread was not "watched" automatically.

We need constant updates on this thread.

You don't have to worry about Vertcoin devs.  They may not post a lot but they do what they say they are going to do. For example "Private Transactions" was promised and delivered on time. Impressive.

I feel sorry for Dan. "You're damned if you do and damned if you don't."

The guy has bills to pay just like the rest of us.  His personal needs have to come before XC investor's needs.

The salty tears caused by un-diversified bad investments.

No.  They are caused by lies and business practices that would land you in prison in a regulated world.

It's great to see the XC camp is still fully invested in Jasinlee's success.

I lost way more putting money into a coin and I didn't have a problem with it.  Because I was not lied to.  And I was not used to extract 99% value out of the pump of a shitcoin and then offered a 1% refund in an extremely pre-meditated action.

P.S.  You guys expect me to go away but keep mis quoting my statements or the situation.  If you'll shut up about it I will.  (I would still like a statement that no money was received from Jasinlee post ASIC project funds being received by him)

I feel your pain and thanks for sharing your story. I'm sure many appreciate it.

You know as well as I, arguing with PR people and Bagholders is like beating a dead horse.

Already reversed it.

In light of community debate and further internal discussions - we are removing the urgent review process from V2

Thanks for the update! That is awesome news.
857  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][C2.1] Coin2 | Pow/PoS | ChainOfConflict[FPS] The Future of Gaming is Now on: September 07, 2014, 06:08:06 PM
Mintpal says the 5 btc will expedite the process but coins will still have to pass the requirements. 5 btc will put a coin at the top of the list.

This might work. It should cut down on some of the shitcoins.

Time will tell. We will know something is up when shit/scam coins start slipping through the process.

I would have been proud of Mintpal if they had not included the 5 btc part.

I think Vancouver is in the lead. 30 new btms.

Canucks opting for receiving wages in btc in the news recently.

Love the expediated addition to their market reauest. " for a fee of 5 bitcoin....." we will add you.  Shitcoins are welcome here so long as u have the money.

I hate the way these exchanges operate.

Killing the altcoin markets 1 by 1

I had high hopes till I got to the 5 btc part. I'm running out of places to trade!

Is Poloniex the only place that "says" they will not be bought off?
860  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Quadrigacx and Blockchain on: September 06, 2014, 06:03:06 PM
Okay. Lets get this straight.

You have fiat (traditional money) at Quadrigacx exchange?
You have an online wallet with blockchain info?

1. You need to buy bitcoin with your fiat at Quadriqacx.
2. You can send the bitcoin to your blockchain info wallet. A better option than keeping btc on an exchange.
3. You can send btc from Quadriqacx or blockchain info directly to the poker site( assuming they accept btc).

You will find your bitcoin receiving address under "deposits" at both places.
You can copy/paste the "send to" address under widthdrawals at both places.

Blockchain info does not sell bitcoin. They are an online wallet.

Make sure you enable two factor authentification (2FA) so you don't lose your bitcoin.
