8481  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are you using low fees? on: June 04, 2017, 01:04:08 PM
We can set our desired fee when using blockchain wallet too but frankly if we used low fees, below 100 sat/B, there's a chance for our transaction to get confirmed after several days. It's better to use medium or higher fee if we are in a hurry.

The number of unconfirmed transactions is now standing at less than 50,000 and it is going to decline even further. Perhaps now it is a golden chance to start a few low-fee transactions. Yesterday, I tried a low-free transaction where I paid around 120 Sat/B, and it got confirmed in less than 24 hours.

8482  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: OpenBazaar Raises $200k in New Funding on: June 04, 2017, 01:00:52 PM
I don't think this project will be a success.
Maybe with version 2 and TOR enabled some darknet users may find it useful.
However I thank Brian Hoffman for this attempt.

I am also quite skeptical about it, although I am unaware of any progress which they have made during the past few months. From the Wikipedia, I have learnt that they have succeeded in attracting hundreds of vendors, and there are now thousands of active listings. They have also been quite successful in attracting new funding.
8483  Other / Politics & Society / Re: UK Election on 8th June on: June 04, 2017, 12:57:52 PM
If Corbyn becomes the Prime Minister, then it is going to be a disaster not just to the United Kingdom, but also to the whole world. After the election of Emmanuel Macron as the French president, we don't need another pro-ISIS figure heading a major European country.
8484  Other / Politics & Society / Re: EDL - The only way to stop England islamization on: June 04, 2017, 12:55:10 PM
The English Defence League reminds me of the now defunct British National Party. The BNP was once very successful, winning two MEP posts (Nick Griffin and Andrew Brons) during the 2009 European Parliament election. But they faded in to oblivion after that, mostly as a result of infighting.
8485  Economy / Speculation / Re: will bitcoin reach the $4000 mark this year ? on: June 04, 2017, 07:14:52 AM
We will have $3000 in few days... mark my words

$3,000 is possible now. Even the much anticipated post-2,500 correction turned out to be much milder than what was expected. It proves that even at these rates, the demand is much more than the supply. The demand/supply equilibrium is still much skewed in favor of the former.
8486  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Can Hit $2K ? on: June 04, 2017, 07:04:47 AM
This has been the expectation of users by the starting of the year. As users stated the price move was quite faster than what users expected. The price increase took place crossing the $2000 in a short starting from the range around $1200. Now $2000 to be a stable price below which it's not expected to fall as it has crossed $2500 now.

Imagine what could have happened had the altcoins (Ethereum, Ripple, Nemcoin, Dash.etc) stayed dormant. If that was the case, then we could have easily crossed $5,000 per coin by now. The altcoins have eaten away a lot of market cap from Bitcoin.
8487  Economy / Exchanges / Re: List of bitcoin debit cards on: June 04, 2017, 07:01:30 AM
It will be better to add a comparison chart of all the Bitcoin-based debit cards in the front page of this thread. I want to know which debit card is the most affordable one for me. I am not a heavy user. Even if I get a debit card, I am going to use it no more than 2-3 times per month, mostly to withdraw fiat cash from the ATMs.
8488  Economy / Speculation / Re: the biggest Forex broker in the world is adding bitcoin, and it is in Japan on: June 04, 2017, 06:44:09 AM
GMO Click Securities (the company) has estimates that the market size in Japan for cryptocurrencies will grow to 1 trillion yen daily volume, or US$8.7 billion daily within a few years.

Wow! I am over the moon after reading this. Imagine what will be the global volumes, if the Japanese volumes are $8.7 billion. That amount can be close to $40 billion. And if the daily volumes are that much, then the market cap can be anywhere between $400 billion to $1 trillion.
8489  Economy / Exchanges / Re: JAXX vs Coinbase: Which is better and why? on: June 02, 2017, 10:58:12 AM
I distrust both of them. It is better to use blockchian.info, for a variety of reasons. That said, Coinbase is not that bad. I have never heard any hackers targeting that site. So I assume that they have a very robust security arrangement in place.
8490  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: mining or tranding? on: June 02, 2017, 10:53:41 AM
They are both risky businesses however I think trading so long as you know what you are doing could be better.

Just do your own research before throwing your money around.

Trading is extremely risky, especially for newbies. Most of the altcoins (such as Ethereum, Nemcoin, Litecoin, and Ripple) are at all time highs, and there is a strong chance of a correction occurring. So if you trade in altcoins, there is a very strong chance of incurring losses.
8491  Economy / Speculation / Re: If China opens BTC withdrawals - would that mean a pump or a dump? on: June 02, 2017, 10:50:07 AM
So Huobi has activated ETH withdrawals, but so far they are refusing to allow the BTC withdrawals. How this is going to be good news for the Bitcoin? My guess is that more Chinese users will convert their Bitcoins to Ethereum, creating a crash in the BTC exchange rates.
8492  Economy / Speculation / Re: We're reaching $3,000 soon! on: June 02, 2017, 10:46:35 AM
Which will we hit first again, 2750 or 2150?

My guess is 2150. Bitcoin is in a bit of weak position right now. According to coinmarketcap, the Bitcoin dominance in crypto-currency sector has been reduced to less than 45% (two months back, it was 80%). Ether has crossed the $20 billion market cap, and even other cryptos are putting up serious competition.
8493  Other / Politics & Society / Re: World War 3 on: June 02, 2017, 10:40:53 AM
WW3 right now is more likely then ever before. If world leaders keep pushing each other towards the last edge we are all doomed. We should make peace not war, world would be better n safer place.

WW3 seems to be very unlikely right now, especially with the election of Donald Trump as the president of the United States. This has reduced the tensions between the United States, and its rivals such as Russia and China. And the North Korea issue is too minor to create a conflict on the global scale.
8494  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Trump is better than Obama? on: June 02, 2017, 07:55:55 AM
Obama is clearly better than Trump, the proof that the current economy is increasingly unstable after Trump became president

What is the problem with economy? The American economy is going strong. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is at all time highs. Ever since Trump was elected, the Index has increased by a massive 3,000 points (more than 15%).
8495  Other / Politics & Society / Re: 15yo girl raped by 3 migrants (afghan and somali) in little austrian town on: June 02, 2017, 07:52:34 AM
Imagine same story on china small town... fucking barbarians raping a chinese girl? The fucker could be the pope, the potus or who ever, what does it means anyway.

The same story will never be heard from China, dear. The Chinese and the other oriental people like the Japanese and Koreans don't want any immigrants (or refugees) from the Muslim nations such as Somalia or Pakistan. And immigrants are not treated above the citizens in these countries. If an immigrant conducts a violent crime in China, then he can expect his anus to be wrecked inside some of the detention facilities.

Only in Europe immigrants are treated above the locals.

What is the reason for that? White guilt? Most of the European nations had huge colonial empires until the mid 20th century. My own country (India) was a colony of the British and the old people still remember how the Brits exploited the natives and looted the natural resources.
8496  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Buying Drugs with Bitcoin ? on: June 02, 2017, 07:49:42 AM
It's possible, once I saw on the Black Market that can be found on Deep Web that they sell drugs, marijuana, heroine using bitcoin. They drop their bitcoin address and the payment would be place on their wallet through their bitcoin address.

This is a very risky option. For sure the payment is made through Bitcoins, and therefore it may be anonymous. It will be very difficult for the law enforcement authorities to track this payment. But what about the delivery? The buyer can be easily apprehended by the cops.
8497  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Do you think ISIS uses Bitcoin? on: June 02, 2017, 07:47:02 AM
There has been at least one instance in the past, when an Islamic State sympathizer/recruiter was found using Bitcoins to send funds to the ISIS. Ali Shukri Amin was sentenced to 11 years in prison for the crime in 2015, by a judge in Virginia.

8498  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Reddcoin & Dogecoin Rising on: June 02, 2017, 07:43:16 AM
LOL... Dogecoin at $1? Are you serious? It is not a crime to dream, but to expect a failed crypto-currency to increase its exchange rates by more than 300 times sounds lunatic. Right now it is going at $0.003026 per coin.
8499  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is this normal? Btc address with negative balance on: June 02, 2017, 07:41:09 AM
This is the first time that I am seeing a negative balance on a Bitcoin wallet. It seems like the blockchain.info double-counted two "sent coins" transactions. I think that the balance will be updated to zero once the double count is rectified.
8500  Economy / Economics / Re: What is occurring when someone sells 1 BTC at a price lower than he/she bought? on: June 02, 2017, 06:35:40 AM
Losses happen all the time during trading. But with Bitcoin, the number of users who have suffered losses will be much smaller than the number who got profits. Look at the exchange rates. During the past 2 months, they have increased by almost 150%. A lot of traders might have benefited from it.
