Coinads refferal system any good?

It only pays based on referrals completing offers, but the offer system has been shut down. Effectively there is no referral system now.
Then the owners should work on removing it. I don't see any kind of work like this being done right now.

Referrals are still being signed under your account if you use your referral link.
And sooner or later those referrals will be of a good use.

Good to know! Is there a plan to add a listing of referrals at some point as well, so you can see how many you have (if any)?
Yes, with detailed statistics.

Awesome, thanks! Do you happen to have any ETA other than "soon" for this (like a month, two months, etc.)? :p
No, not yet.

Got ya. Thanks, Smiley.
8522  Economy / Securities / Re: [BitFunder] [TAT.VIRTUALMINE] Virtual Mining - Hash Without Hardware! on: June 15, 2013, 04:53:03 PM
are "TAT" and "DMS" acronyms that are not specific to just the Bitcoin world/cryptostocks?

They are ticker tags meant to let people know who is running them. Any asset I release will have TAT. on it, so you know it's me!

Ohhh, does this mean that nobody else is allowed to use that tag then? Ex. is it basically "locked" to you?

That is correct, however, it should be noted that I only trade on BTCT.co, Bitfunder.com, and HavelockInvestments.com currently. So if you see that tag elsewhere, it might not be me.

>:] TAT.MiningASICVirtual I'm making this so I can be like those Chinese knockoff brands, Buckstar coffee.

Pretty sure it would be more like "Starbutts Coffee," lol

It is as much of a scam as those grenade/hot potato games. If people want to risk their earned bitcoins in hope of someone else coming along after you and doing the same, then let them. Most people are smart and don't start doing this sort of thing though. Go ahead and join if you want to join a ponzi scheme.

I guess this is true, to an extent. I'm also against those hot potato games so... meh.
8524  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Recent decline? on: June 15, 2013, 04:13:08 PM
I also saw this and wondered why bitcoins lost so much value in a day or two.

It will bounce back. It always has. BTC is still fairly new in terms of mass adoption so it's finding its place.

8526  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: bit coins stolen on: June 15, 2013, 03:55:45 PM
On the other hand, what does the OP stand to gain from lying? Sympathy tips?
That doesn't support his story. It's the equivalent of "you think someone would lie on the internet?"

the reason for the 12 hrs apart was i had another deposit that was taking longer to get put into my account and almost right after i get the email saying fund are in my account i load up my wallet and find just all the coins gone.
and yes only been in bitcoins a little over 2 weeks sure puts a bad taste in my mouth after this incident,
That still leaves the question: why would a thief leave funds behind when stealing a wallet?

Not all thieves are that bright. Look at the ones that rob a store and steal cigarettes, for example, but give the clerk their actual driver's license to prove they are of age. People do stupid stuff.

Check out my new signature.  Thanks Ben for the quote!

lol, I love it! I can't believe anyone can think that a pyramid scheme *isn't* a scam.
8528  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: how long willl my balance remain unconfirmed? on: June 15, 2013, 03:53:56 PM
having a similar issue with a payment i sent to satoshi dice without paying any fees. sent it about 5 days ago. every other day it shows up as a new unconfirmed transaction. its beginning to look like this transaction is lost forever.

What type of wallet did you use? My understanding is you can usually re-sync with the blockchain (removing the payment from your local client if you are using one) since it hasn't actually been included in a block yet. This should allow you to re-send the funds with a fee.
8529  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MultiCoin][Stratum+GW] multipool.in - Always mine the most profitable coin on: June 15, 2013, 03:51:11 PM
Just to add on my own experience in case it helps with debugging, I'm not experiencing this problem. I'm at 31818 Accepts and 962 Rejects right now total, and ever since it jumped to LTC my Accepts have been going up while Rejects have stayed pretty low (most of my Rejects were from the fast-block coins).

This was on FTC... just now... The Diff changed mid-stream due to the number of workers online now.

diff 32 hurts when it drop due to new block found, and rejects up to 6x shares that were "waiting" for delivery, just before the block was found. Not so bad on slow coins like FTC, but on fast coins, it cuts you short by almost 50% of shares.

Alleviated by reducing my work-load size to 64 also... thus, it finishes up to 4x faster and then submits... instead of waiting for workload 256 to finish, before submitting on every card.

Problem resolved... Use CGminer 3.2.1 (I was only using 3.2.0 for issues related before all the wallets updated when I was solo-mining on this machine.)

Is it recommended to use WL of 64 for all coins (er, the multipool) then?
8530  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: new obvious scam http://merlinsmagicbitcoins.com/ on: June 15, 2013, 03:44:06 PM
why is it a horrible investment if we starts at the beginning? so all who are starts now will win Smiley

Well, for me it's because of the morality standpoint. Essentially what you're getting involved with is a scam.
8531  Economy / Marketplace / Re: WTS 71 Gh/s Avalon Unit in hand - overnight shipping on: June 15, 2013, 03:42:56 PM
What people seem to be getting horrifically wrong with their predictions is difficulty simply can't rise forever. Follow the chain now:

Proposed: Difficulty will rise to the point that the only widely available ASIC won't be viable [B3 @100 for example. Note that Avalon homebrews are only ~40% cheaper]
-> So if no unit purchased will ROI, ever, who is buying additional ASICs?
-> If no one is buying ASICs, why is hash rate still rising?
-> If hash rate isn't rising, difficulty isn't going up
-> Difficulty plateaus.

Some of these calculations just don't make sense, reaching difficulties of several million. Yes ASICs are POWER profitable until several billion in some cases, but they're not PURCHASE profitable. Not purchase profitable = no new ASICs = no rising difficulty.

Its a catch 22 that difficulty will rise at an extreme rate for a sustained period of time, making everything unprofitable.

Yes, but...even if we have 6 months or so of say 25% increases every two weeks, that's enough to make this and many other ASICs unprofitable. It doesn't have to rise exponentially for years. There are a zillion preorders, chip orders, ASICMINER upgrades, etc. in the pipeline which will likely be produced and put online. That is sufficient for the difficulty increases that make blades, USB eruptors, 250 BTC Avalons, etc. unprofitable. I think we will see 100M by November, and maybe 200M by 1Q2014.
And at 200M with ZERO growth you'd need to be able to buy hardware at 0.1btc/GH, ie 3% of the price you'd pay today.

No ASIC will achieve such numbers, probably even for the manufacturer. Hence, its very, very unlikely that a 200M would be sustainable and would likely fall off. People seeing no return for mining -> turn off equipment.
Anyone know what a GPU miner makes today? I want to plug in the number and see when they no longer make anything substantial.

The "when" is when difficulty is over ~50M, which will happen roughly in September IMO, when they make less than the cost of power consumption.

(Following table is for a card making 650MH@250W, $0.11/KWh, BTC=$100. Showing 20% jumps and estimated dates)

Code:
Date Difficulty   $/day after power
06/15/13 15600000 $1.44
06/17/13 18720000 $1.09
07/01/13 22464000 $0.80
07/15/13 26956800 $0.55
07/29/13 32348160 $0.35
08/12/13 38817792 $0.18
08/26/13 46581350 $0.04

*cringes* please don't post things like this... it depresses me, lol.

Something is up...

The LTC is rejecting valid shares submitted, like 50% out of nowhere...

submitted 48/32 rejected, target above share.
submitted 56/32 rejected, target above share.
submitted 36/32 rejected, target above share.
...
...

but high enough...
128/32 accepted
234/32 accepted
...
...

You seem to be 1-off on your calculation... thinking 32 is 64? or not "retargeting us", but wanting xxx/64, thus, we are still sending xxx/32

Here is a big surprise

I just got another gift at the end of the 2nd week (my 3rd in a week) and so did my friend that I introduced 1 week ago.
Here I am, a member, making money..  It doesn't feel like a scam to me, or any of my friends.

Not to be rude but for someone to join the forums just 3 hours prior to making this post... it doesn't really prove much.

I am registered there too and I can confirm that someone is payed out in the last 15 min because a member I recruited sent 1 gift. So it could be possible.

This all sounds like a pyramid scheme though, where those who get in on the beginning win and those who don't lose. In other words, for all intents and purposes it's a horrible investment.
8534  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Recent decline? on: June 15, 2013, 03:38:11 PM
Check out the historical chart at http://bitcoin.clarkmoody.com/ (put the time frame on D1).  Aside from the parabolic run up into the USD 200's, the level of 100 seems to be, for now, a new baseline valuation.

When markets don't know what things are fundamentally worth, they tend to trade around "round numbers."  Currently 1BTC = 1 Barrel of oil, approximately.
hmmm interesting...not saying that 1 btc should equate to a barrel of oil, but would like to see the cost of mining one btc compared to the cost of drilling for one barrel of oil.

of course the costs of mining one btc cannot be broken down like that and the costs of producing one barrel of oil cannot actually be determined what with all the government intervention in oil markets...but it would be a good thought experiment nonetheless.

You mean basically seeing which one is more profitable? I've got to think that oil would be, just because while the barrel of oil may be $100 or whatever, the cost once it's been refined has a much higher profit margin.
I don't think a currency's exchange rate can be meaningfully compared to the price of a commodity.  The barrel of oil has defined value as the derived products' utility is consumed.  But a USD/BTC rate of $100 doesn't imply that a BTC provides or "produces" USD 100 of goods or services.

mmm, I see what you mean. The concept of virtual vs. actual, or the fact that while oil has a true usability (in that it runs vehicles and such) BTC has an inferred value, in that it is only useful for trade.

8536  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Goliath Miner-Cairnsmore3/4/5/6 Boards - Limited run for August Delivery on: June 15, 2013, 03:28:44 PM
So, to sum it up, a CM4 unit:

- costs 24 thousand € / 350 BTCs
- uses 6kW of power
- can do 500 GH/s

Is it right?

If so, at a difficulty of 75 millions, such a unit would produce 3.5 BTCs/day for a ROI of three months more or less.

6kW of power, though, is a lot of power and puts it in the same league of the Avalon where ten units use that much and are capable of 700 GH/s.

spiccioli

Think you have figures incorrect their my friend 500GH per day will give 16.1 on current difficulty of 15605632 and with 75,605,633 will make 3.3BTC per day

75mill tho is a fair bit off tho to get to that will need a big amount of hash power upped. And if their going to be doing bu AUG sill 1 month turn around and you got your money back depending on market.

F.A.O Yohan  Please can you tell me when you are looking to take orders in for units as am interested and also emailed too

Keep in mind that if they sell, say 10 of these, at 500 GH/s, that's another 5 TH/s out to increase difficulty as well. While the difficulty may be rising slowly right now, as the more high powered systems go out there it's going to increase fast.
8537  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] CoinFaucets - BTC Faucet Timer and Rotator! on: June 15, 2013, 03:27:16 PM
site is super slow at the moment, could not get it to load. maybe you are getting lots of traffic Smiley

No issues here. Is the problem when loading one of the faucets? If so, that part isn't in my control, Sad. Sometimes they will go down temporarily and time out as a result. If this happens multiple rounds in a row I temporarily remove them from the rotation until the issue is resolved.
8538  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin... Where is this all going? on: June 15, 2013, 03:26:10 PM
100 - 150 - 500  Shocked

It should go down before it goes up. While I have no doubts it will hit 500+, it's more like:

100 - 120 - 130 - 125 - 110 - 140, etc. while slowly averaging a higher price over time.

8540  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why so many scammers and spammers? on: June 15, 2013, 03:24:30 PM
Because Bitcoin is about easy money transfer and scammers love easy money transfers to them :/
Also there are a lot of people who don't fully understand the concept and thus are easier to scam.

Not to mention the prospect of anonymity. Since people can take your money and all you have is a BTC address that generally doesn't lead anywhere, there's no "risk" to them getting caught.
