8521  Other / Ivory Tower / Are recreational activities work or not on: August 04, 2020, 09:09:51 PM
It is now usual to see people saying recreational activities are not work but to ease ourselves, but I think they are not right because when I was in the secondary school back then, in Physics I was taught work.

What is work
Work is a force that moves through a distance over time.

Work= Force x distance/time

During recreational activities, we apply these three questions because running, swimming and many other recreation activities require you to use force to move through a distance over time which is actually work.

In my conclusion, many recreational activities still required work which mean many recreational activities is even work on its owns. So, there are some works that ease the body while some stress the body. I will like your opinion to tell if I am right. Can you also specify the ones that are not truly work.
8522  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: SCAMMING AS AN OPTION/ADVICE TO SCAMMERS on: August 04, 2020, 08:27:40 AM
Scam can be deemed moral to scammers but not moral to the world, it is very common in countries with high level of unemployment. Scam has started even before using fiat digitally or before the creation of bitcoin. We have to be careful not to be scammed and we need to learn how to avoid scam. I have even even created some articles on this forum that I believe could help newbies and people that visit this forum anonymously for not to be scam, you can check it below.

8523  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Replace by fee on bitcoin wallet on: August 03, 2020, 05:33:54 PM
I am getting familiar with bitcoin wallet day after day, lately I learned about fee pumping which is also known as replace by fee, it happens in a way bitcoin transaction that is not confirmed can be included early in a block by pumping the fee. This is a very good feature a wallet can have, two wallets I know that have RBF capability are Bitcoin core and Electrum. They are my best bitcoin online wallets.

I also read about using RBF to reverse back transactions if the transaction have zero confirmation, which means scammers can use it easily to reverse bitcoin sent to someone back into their same wallet.

I am not a scammer but I like to know everything in details about bitcoin and bitcoin wallet for the sake of knowledge.

Can someone use RBF to reverse transaction on bitcoin core and electrum wallet? Or only used to pump fee? Or, it is done by another means?

8524  Other / Serious discussion / Re: I'm seriously concerned about the money being stuffed down the vaccine toilet. on: August 03, 2020, 11:14:21 AM
The world is so much focusing on advance pharmaceutical medicine, leaving traditional ones aside. In the past were strong immunity, the immune system were stronger than today. Normally microorganisms that were mutating and dangerous were still fought potently by the body immune system in the past unlike now,  our immunity is likely to have reduced than before. There are many other things to consider like the modern era emitted smokes and gases, the food we intake, and many other things.

The world governments should also focus on traditional medicine, and also try to tell population how to avoid what can reduce immunity, instead of only focusing on advanced pharmaceutical medicine.
8525  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Faucets - Do people still use it, and are they worthwhile? on: August 03, 2020, 01:39:46 AM
First of all, people thought they make money from faucets but not like that, in every 100% bitcoin you worked for by solving captcha, faucet take 80% or the lion share while you take 20% or a very small share part of it. Millions of people are solving captcha for faucets, and making (faucets) them having money.

I have tried faucets before, all the highest rewards I was paid per hour in the three I tried were 0.00000022 btc which was not actually a good payment.

If this amount can be paid into wallet, it is even another problem until you consolidate the many input amount into one address because the reward is so small.

Imo, faucets are not for making bitcoin again, they are just waste of time.

I noticed one thing about faucets now, they also have gambling sites, you can easily think the bitcoin is small let me gamble with it, it is easy to lose in gambling and you work 100% for them without no any reward after losing to gambling.

8527  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: What happened to my electrum wallet on: August 02, 2020, 10:22:08 PM
There is a "label sync" plugin for electrum which uploads your labels to a server.
This allows you to retrieve them after recovering your wallet with the mnemonic.
I saw this on electrum wallet just now, I read on the electrum that labels, transaction ID and addresses are encrypted before they are sent to the remote server also in addition.

About the privacy, I still think the encryption can still help to some extent.

I've checked ANN thread of 777coins it seems there's no announcement maybe you can check on the official website. If I'm not mistaken you are a participant of 777coins before, isn't it?
You are right, I participated, it was a payment of the work I did (the post I made), I should have checked that, I did not know I will be paid because I left the campaign for another before the payment. Though, I did the weekly required posts completely but I left some days before the weekly payment and I was not expecting anything at all. So, this has been solved with what sheenshan commented above. I appreciate.
8529  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: What happened to my electrum wallet on: August 01, 2020, 10:48:48 PM

8530  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: African bitcoin ATMs on: August 01, 2020, 10:38:33 PM
ATMs just another one method to fool people with extremtly high fees. There are so many p2p exchanges, dexs, etc and people are still prefer atms
No, that is not acceptable, it can be more convenient to use bitcoin ATM, the transaction fee is high but you can need cash immediately. Also, bitcoin ATM really helping bitcoin adoption, and it is a good thing. It is good that people like bitcoin ATM. Later, it will even help about bitcoin adoption the more.
8531  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / What happened to my electrum wallet on: August 01, 2020, 09:53:56 PM
I checked my electrum wallet today and I saw three transactions, the three transactions were all made into my account on 15th July.

Txid:
1. 6695e63e160d08812dc42be6fb89544ff8a3893a40943dc4fbfff01a34e007f0

2. 8e14042d099af21ae15a79610ec10adfd4a60a52a503e5e36b7d4ee627e62eef

3. d0eeb888eeea4a1758f0fceb8e12d7d38d7ca02760d9570720710ddc91a65f81

I received a total 0.0015 btc on the same day with the same address. You can use the txid to check.

Hope this is not dust attack? I do not know the sender. But I think dust attack should be with lower amount I will not be able to notice on my wallet balance.

8533  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How bad malware could be on bitcoin wallet devices on: July 31, 2020, 10:19:34 PM
Unprotected sites are ones without padlock and also not displayed as https. It's advisable to aviod such sites as its a suspect of phishing sites that is involved with malware, attaching with virus destroying devices and changes bitcoin addresses.
Security means the connection to the site is safe but that does not mean the site itself is free of malware, there are many sites with the padlock but contain malware. if you see the padlock, then it will be https. Getting antialware is very important and also not click links and ads, I have seen a link/ads from safe sites that will direct someone to malware sites and malware installation unknowingly follows.

8535  Other / Meta / Re: Hide posts and topics on: July 30, 2020, 01:25:49 PM
I did not say to hide all posts from everyone, but only some of them if you want.
Some people are visiting this forum anonymously without registration, this also makes the forum have importance not to only itself but also to the world, and it is as a result of what they gained from here, hiding function does not make sense, if you can not lock the topic or still not make it available to the whole world, then no need to make the topic imo.
8536  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Kobe Bryant's death has been used for scamming. on: July 30, 2020, 09:05:55 AM
In order to protect your device used for bitcoin wallets, exchanges, bank accounts and other sensitive things, you need to get two devices, one for such sensitive things and will not be used for browsing, no matter how expert how are, if they use their device to browsing, there is possibility of installing malware unknowingly.

Using another device for heavy browsing will be good,  not your sensitive devices. Like having two phones, one for only sensitive things and should only go online for such purposes related to bitcoin wallets or exchanges while the other for browsing and related things.

8538  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: African bitcoin ATMs on: July 29, 2020, 10:07:46 PM
I don't think the numerous ATMs installed in SA are as a result of trading volume and mass adoption, it could be how those who own them were welcomed with open hands by the south African government. Reverse could be the case with the Nigerian government as we witnessed how they tried to ban Bitcoin back in 2018 using the CBN to regulate unnecessary rules and laws. As times goes on and much more adoption is been done many others will be installed here.
You are so right about this, but like you said bitcoin is now getting more accepted in Nigeria, also Blockstale BYM that operate the only bitcoin ATM in Nigeria said to installed up to 30 bitcoin ATMs in Nigeria over time.

https://cointelegraph.com/news/nigeria-becomes-eighth-african-nation-to-welcome-bitcoin-atms/amp

clearly this is a news about the progress that has been made by countries in the african continent, it is not easy to accept the bitcoin atm may operate easily. in my country, recognition of bitcoin as a legitimate tool to be used as payment, cannot be issued yet.
whereas there are quite a lot of crypto followers but to give recognition as a legitimate medium of exchange is not yet brave, let alone to have to provide an atm machine. but the wonder for trade and exchange matters is there is no prohibition at all.
I will not dispute this because you are right, but in short short memory, can you remember how the world first go against bitcoin to the extent Wikipedia declared it as scam, there was a time many countries did not accept bitcoin. Bitcoin with time has been showing how itself can be so important to the world, and more countries are accepting it now. Bitcoin ATMs installation is increasing and a time will come when countries all over the world will accept bitcoin.
8539  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: usdt tether market cap grows from 4,6 billions to 10,800 billions from March on: July 29, 2020, 09:53:10 PM
This topic is created on the wrong board, scroll down this thread, look at the left down part, you will see move topic, move it to altcoin discussion.

Do you think tether really has fiat for backing this usdt?  Wink
No, tether is completely a virtual currency, it is regulated in a way it will always be stable even if the demand and the supply is increasing or decreasing. Tether has no fiat to back itself but only from the extent of demand.
8540  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Quick How to guide: Setup Stop-Loss order on: July 29, 2020, 09:16:19 PM
Stop loss order is good but could be otherwaie at times, take a look at the scenarios

1. If you buy bitcoin at $9000 and you set stop loss to automatically sell bitcoin at $8500 when bitcoin price drcreased to $8600. Immediately the price deceased to $8600, the bitcoin will be sold, most people sell in getting stable coin in such time.

2. There are times the bitcoin price will reduced to a price below $8600 and your bitcoin will be sold automatically, but very also possible that the price may later increase back, even above $9000.

3. The was a time in March, 2020, when bitcoin within a day dropped from $7500 to below $3600, this was a great advantage for people that had used stop loss.

So, we should be careful and try the use stop loss at the appropriate time, not all time is appropriate but most time is appropriate.
