Hello newbie miner here how can I tell if I have a LHR card
Below is my current setup

96 mh for 1 3080 is not lhr it is full power

96 is close to the max you can get with a 3080.
8523  Economy / Speculation / Re: Top 20 days for Bitcoin on: October 08, 2021, 11:08:43 PM
22 days under 50k

and today looks like it will make it 21 days under 50k

Still on schedule to be the  top 100 over 50k this year 2021

I would love to see the 60's come back soon.

and maybe the 70's
8524  Economy / Speculation / Re: Summer dip?!, December price outcome? ---> JOIN and guess the price GO! on: October 08, 2021, 11:05:21 PM
I WILL take my 70k for this contest.

Down the road say Jan 27 2022 it can top 100k
8525  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: 2021, time for a new general & diff speculation thread... on: October 08, 2021, 11:01:11 PM
Yeah 2021 year of the miner not year of the OX

and 2022 year of the miner not year of the TIGER
8526  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: 2021, time for a new general & diff speculation thread... on: October 08, 2021, 07:59:47 PM
It is just too good to be true.

Go China Go

crush those miners  out

Now seriously in the long run what does it mean for the rest of the world and BTC.

Time will tell.

8527  Economy / Speculation / Re: Summer dip?!, December price outcome? ---> JOIN and guess the price GO! on: October 08, 2021, 02:36:05 PM
Prediction overview

158. $12,200 PrimeNumber7
...

249. $68,655 tweetious

250. $70,000 philipma1957

251. $72,046 theymos

...

341. $420,000 pooya87

So in effect I have to worry about tweetious and theymos
so 69340 is 685 higher then tweetious and  660 lower than philipma1957  So I would win
and 69333 is 678 higher then tweetious and 667 lower than philipma1957 so I would win
and  69328 is 673 higher then tweetious and 672 lower than philipma1957 so I would win
lastly 69237 is  672 higher then tweetious and 673 lower than philipma1957 so I would lose

so 69328 is my cutoff for winning on the low side

on the high side

71022 is 1022 higher than me and  1024 lower than theymos So I win
71023 is 1023 higher than me and 1023 lower than theymos so we tie
71024 is 1024 higher than me and 1022 lower than theymos so I lose.

So did I get this correct?

Or have I mis understood the rules

I see this as

69328 to 71022  I win

I know that pennies can alter what I am saying, but I wanted to understand basic rules for the winner.

8529  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: I have bought one antminer L3++ from a site on: October 08, 2021, 02:18:40 PM
I have 11 of them they are nice gear.

I mine at viabtc.com

1 unit will earn  0.0108 ltc or  2 usd worth of ltc a day and

2000 x 0.0108 = 21.6 doge = 5.4 usd worth of doge

total of 7.4 usd

it burns 800 watts or .8 x 24 = 19.2 kwatts say 20 kwatts a day

that is 20 x 20 = 4 bucks if you have 20 cent power

so you will net 7.4-4.0 = 3.4 a day

I have a referral for viabtc you can pm me if you want it

or just go to viabtc.com and join them and do not use the referral

what is your power cost?

I wonder if the illegal mine got busted or if they turn it on and off.

Think about this 3-5eh not legal run it on days 12,13,14, to 1,2,3  of 2 diffs epoch.

have to check to see if we get hot at block 1600 to block 300 say OCT 16 to OCT 23

Can this dual mining mode be used with non-lhr cards? Are the hashrates higher?

I would love to know this answer.

What are people using with 3090 cards and simple mining?  I tried with my 3090 and I got only 48mhs because I believe thermal throttling.  But same card in Windows I can get it to hit 120mhs.

Phoenix 5.4 or 5.7

t-rex

both work

myy evga 3090 3987 ftw3 get 112 mh

use

ram 800-950

ram 800  add 10 and see if it does not throttle
power 280  I have found 270 and 275 are the knee and you drop off a lot and after 290 -295 there is never much upside

And surprise, indeed a surprise at least for me, if we look right now at the numbers, the jump looks like has been caused by luck and everything else was a coincidence.

Current Pace:   100.9908%  (1210 / 1198.13 expected, 11.87 ahead)
Current Pace:   104.5365%  (1670 / 1597.53 expected, 72.47 ahead)

26 hours later

Quote
Current Pace:   103.9489%  (1941 / 1867.26 expected, 73.74 ahead)

So over the last day, the pace has come back to the normal difficulty and in the exact 24 hours, it has gone down to 139 blocks.

I know this is going to come and bite me ferociously in the a*** next day but if indeed the 115% pace for the previous 2-3 days was caused by miners and not luck it makes no sense for them to turn everything back off at >$47.5k.
Less than 13 hours left so at this point numbers won't be telling that much, the 4-5 days of the next epoch if the price remains unchanged will clear things up.

I won't deny the fact that a price increase will definitely make some miners turning their gear to different setups but I doubt that a jump of 10% in price would trigger an increase of 15-20% in hash rate from that alone. Combined with something else, of course, but 30 exa out of low/high settings, nope!

It does make sense if they are really big and can alter from 50 to 60 th on a lot of s17's

They can control the diff in such a way that it does not run away.  if you mine hard from day 4 to day 13 then back off on day 14

you get 14 new days at say 18.9 vs 19.2

and uou mine hard next time for days 3-13 that is 11 days of harder mining at a low diff.

all possible if you have excess E9 s17 or s19 and L7 gear.

you simply juggle the gear from best paying per watt day to day.

Maybe they mined hard on days 12,13,14 and 1,2 and then backed off.

This would be really good if true.

It means they are trying to tamp the diff down. It also means if they are Bitmain a lack of chips. They can not sell tons of gear for profit.

We know diff was once 25.01 and is now 19+. that is a lot of offline gear.

Best would be the illegal mine got caught and shut down along with the gear being crushed.

Some one mentioned an illegal mine getting online.  Maybe it was 5eh that is about 2-3 % using in my head math.

Still a 54k price and -1% = $$ for us miners.
8536  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: 2021, time for a new general & diff speculation thread... on: October 07, 2021, 03:06:23 AM
My hope is 2022 is actually better than 2021.
It would be very nice indeed.

Car production = way down.

Microwaves = very hard to get.

Gpus = next to impossible to find

If 2022 mirrors 2021

I am going to be very happy about being  miner.

Diff tanked like mad.

Aside of the PUMP, did you all see this coming by looking at the hourly "world computer" (aka Vitalik's coin) chart?
Seems like ETH harvests are flowing back into BTC, finally

I saw some passing activity on Whalecalls on ETH liquidations and transfers that I was largely dismissive of (Need to add "ETH" to banned words, damnit, thought I did that...) earlier, but nice to see a correlation being noted.

OMG mindrust is back and quite active in that thread! He has become an anti-vaxxer and a conspiracy theorist...   Grin  something tells me he will be wrong also this time...  Grin

Sold 0.01 at 54.9k
Will sell some more at 57k

TBH, I have some corn ready on the exchange, to quickly realize low 7 digits USD fiat if need-be - Have been loaded since last time we tested $50k. Thought about taking some profit now just to take some "pressure" off, and recognize when I need to airquote the word pressure, it's probably because of the pressure I'm placing against myself to take some profits right now, knowing the upside is well back within the S2F projections, which are honestly starting to scare the shit out of me.

At this rate, it's worth it to ride out the volatility for another couple months before deciding on any action.

Very strange position to be in. Locked and loaded, but not wanting to pull the trigger.

I should not complain too loudly. Very blessed.

yeah I am not in your league.

But I was very fortunate the other day with my  small pool mining at mmpool.org

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=559011.0

We hit a block after 4 years of mining (small pools do take 1 year or more to hit)

I picked up a nice piece of change.
Very much an exotic way to buy and hodl or dca.

So selling a bit of it  is fine.

I guess the EVGA queue gravy train has come to a screeching halt for those of us that were using it:

--- cut ---
Update 10/4/2021

Hello,

In an effort to expedite those in queue who are still waiting for a EVGA GeForce RTX 30 Series Card, and to be fair to all EVGA customers, we are making a running change:

Accounts that have NOT purchased an EVGA 30 series card yet as part of the queue will be prioritized.
Accounts that have already purchased an EVGA 30 series card in the queue system, will be behind those who have not.

Note: B-Stock (RX) or Step-Up 30 Series products will not affect queue positions.

We hope that this update will allow more gamers to get their hands on an EVGA GeForce RTX 30 series card. If there are any questions please contact our support at sales@evga.com.

Thanks
EVGA
--- cut ---

I got about a dozen cards via the queue, will another 5 within minutes of popping.

A dozen is pretty good I got 3.

Hey I got a decent price on 2x 6700xt

and they crash on Phoenix 5.4 ,5.6 ,5.7 with smos

anyone have a way to run amd  6700 xt  using smos for eth of Course
8539  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: mmpool.org - 1.5% fee DGM/PPS - tx fees/vardiff/merge mine/tor on: October 07, 2021, 12:21:21 AM
All boils down to luck. They could just as well have pointed that double-digit hash at the pool for weeks/months w/o hitting a block. They still have something like 29PH pointed there and with earnings around 3.9BTC from that last block must be worth it.

For now at least...

Sure when the pool does a block in 29% cdf it is good for miners.

and when the pool has the roll over feature this one does there is a 1 btc zone of opportunity for the top hasher.

Ie the guy that grabbed 3.9 btc on the prior block is in line for  3.34 if he hits it now.

So he is up over 1.9btc profit from last block

playing 1 btc of it back gives him a good shot at grabbing the 3.34 now.

Of course when you grab long deep 80% pdf blocks its a no go.

I am only running 1 of my 6 accounts

3   1b7093a2   0.11548665   1,374,581,985   28,641,221 mh or 29 th

and it is shrinking as it is up against the guy with 29ph. about 1000x my hash.

EVEN though it shrinks I do have the other ones and they add to .4

so if an early block comes at say 10% cdf or less I can grab .4+ .115 = .515

maybe less if we go to 10% cdf before we hit.

So if the big boy does it I get some pretty large crumbs.

I have asked for it to go here https://www.blockchain.com/en/btc/address/146UJM5kgzLVUV23CXCf33KQKHckoX1gx3

so basically I am waiting for a reply on 5 of 6 accounts

He did handle the one account.
So here is hoping all gets fixed today as .565+ btc is pretty much 1/2 a years earnings for me
.101
.106
.103
.154
.101 and this also must be switched to a good address

.565 btc is a lot due.

Hoping to see some payments today.
the pool has heavy mining as I type
about 30ph
http://mmpool.org/statistics

It would be good to get a reply.
Mining on small pools with long payout waits is risky.

MMPOOL has always paid every time.

But this was a 4 year time period.
So my records are a bit off.
1 account has an inaccessible address
4 accounts took me 2 days to find access
1 account has a Trezor address so easy peasy

the next risk is the pool op is likely
1 guy
So he could get sick.
He could say fuck it I am done.
I have hope this is fixed soon.
He has never failed to do right.

It is funny today I was offered a decent signature deal. I am taking it since it is steady $$.

I will post back to tell what happens next.
