Ebay is big news. How many other retailers will jump on board after that endorsement?. That combined with the wave of atms, new exchanges, investment funds, investment into bitcoin business, etc. will make a big wave soon. It's only a matter of time.

Where's the news here? He said fuck all new from what he said year ago.
but he said it again!

buy this rumor
buy more when poeple sell the news.

No thanks, this is not rumor at all. He'd just been kind and diplomatic, nothing more. Paypal real news would be enough big to buy on news and make money on it.

fine buy next year at 10,000, because Paypal news is sure to lock you in a 20% swing.

There was an article 6 months ago where paypal said they were looking at btc and had been for a while.  Now they are looking at btc.  So?
wasnt that when they added "virtual currency" category
That was eBay not PayPal, wasn't it?
I thought they were one and the same, only reason they separate the two, is to screw you over with eBay fees on top of paypal fees, then force you to issue a refund, once the buyer receives the item.

this has happened to me more then once....

maybe they can cut back on fee / fraud with bitcoin

So are we going to final bottom around $370 next week or not?

Hmm, 300-350 rpietila says, in 7 days he says. Lets see.  Wink

he says a 7% chance.

you feeling lucky?

I own more BTC than 99.9% of the world population combined. Of course I am feeling lucky!

... There are no more than 7 000 000 BTC holders, right?  Smiley

The Reality:

The second picture looks fake, too.  A little reality would be nice.
I wondered about the roof: too "clean" and the tiles too equal and regular But there is a winter 2005 picture in that Estonian Manors site apparently with that same roof and the right-side windows in the same state.  Plastic roof tiles perhaps?

First thing you would do in renovating a delapidated building would be to put a decent roof on it I would think. Especially in non-US places where the walls are built of something designed to last.

dont give him any ideas he might have to liquidate another 3K btc  Tongue

I'm really glad you included boredom on the quiz for today.  This narrow trading range is better than the bottom falling out but is not doing much to enliven the community.
lol ya it's not the most exciting time for bitcoin trading
but i don't find it's been boring for bitcoin itself.
8554  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 10, 2014, 04:58:32 PM
The idea that 200,000 BTC buy 20% 16.5% of a startup...

when you put it that way....  Undecided

so no one is going to get gox coins instead they'll get a tiny piece of the new but not improved MtGox that will go under a few months after it reopens

yup!

incase you missed it: http://www.coindesk.com/mt-gox-settlement-proposal-granted-key-preliminary-approval/

Why is [ Sunlot's plan ] better than giving clients the full 20%, so that they can invest those same 10% into Apple stock instead?  The clients will surely recover their 90% back much faster this way.
no.

apple isnt about to grow 5x

apple pays out about 1% a year in dividends

so it would probably take like 50-90years.
Well, how much dividend will the MtGOX 2.0 shares pay per year, as percentage of investment?

There is no way of estimating how much trade they would get.  Why would people trade there rather than at Bitstamp or other exchanges?  Why would people trust their dollars and bitcoins to people who have an even more, er, peculiar past than Mark?

The motivations of the Sunlot team could be all or any of (1) get their hands on those 200'000 BTC with no legally binding commitment to returning them to clients; (2) let Mr. Gay-Bouchery and Mr. Karpelès get away, free and rich; (3) make sure that the assets are distributed according to the (bogus?) balances in Mark's database rather than actual deposits minus withdrawals; (5) pre-empt a police investigation that could find the real culprits for the theft; (5) earn points for the afterlife and a boy-scout medal by helping poor MtGOX clients to recoup a little more of their loss than they would through liquidation.  Have a guess...

lol idk

I agree they should just get the 20% and be done with it.

but it would seem 'they' would rather take on a high risk investment

buy hey, if they do pull off this deal i'll buy some shares from the victims who just want out.

its not everyday a bitcoin exchange offers shares... i'd take advantage

Are Chinese exchanges still a thing?

Isn't the deadline like ...today?

Yup, deadline today. So lets just assume huobi and other chinese exchange site would be offline tomorrow onwards.

i think MAYBE monday
8557  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 10, 2014, 03:57:22 PM
I'm guessing with the Sunlot plan, the clients have a small chance to get back their entire account. At least in a long time.
That is just spin.  They propose to give back (say) 10% of the assets and force clients to invest the other 10% into MtGOX2.0, and will count their share of whatever profit that MtGOX2.0 may make as the payment of the other 90%.  Why is that better than giving clients the full 20%, so that they can invest those same 10% into Apple stock instead?  The clients will surely recover their 90% back much faster this way.
no.

Just asking - seriously - does it not concern anyone that the markets are following an exchange whose CEO recently said in an interview they are looking at options either to move offshore and/or separate themselves COMPLETELY from receiving fiat deposits?  A CEO that has apparently stopped leveraged trading and will impose restrictions and fees on HFT in response to a banking system that we know is slowly but surely tightening it noose around all deposit options?

THIS ^^^ is what we are hanging this new "bull market" on?

Look, I want BTC to be worth 10K+ as much as anyone here, but how in the world are the current state of affairs bullish?

imagine what price gonna do when current state of affairs really is bullish

kicking bitcoin while its down is not wise....bitcoin is hot shit!
