I feel you! If it makes you feel any better, I've sent multiple tickets to CB to better understand policies and such, and they have been awesome at explaining things thoroughly and being patient with me.

Right on, thank you. I am really happy to be a part of the community here, I can't thank everyone enough for the help and support. That news definitely puts me at ease a bit more, I have no doubt they'll be able to get to the bottom of this.
I'm happy your problem has been solved.

He never said it's been solved, :p. He just feels better knowing that they are trusted by some of us.

Yeah, nothing has been solved yet, but I'll definitely post an update as soon as I hear something back.

Thanks! Did you send in an email using the online ticketing system?

I've had to institute a minimum of 1 coin to cash out (all currencies).

We are getting killed by LTC transaction fees (down 30 LTC as of this post).

It wasn't me! I haven't made any withdrawals yet, :p.

You could also just set a fee for withdrawals if the amount is under x.
8563  Economy / Securities / Re: [BitFunder] [TAT.VIRTUALMINE] Virtual Mining - Hash Without Hardware! on: June 15, 2013, 01:52:40 PM
I've had some of this asset since the IPO.  Although the price is fluctuating, as of today, if it sells at over .0065857, I've made a profit, after factoring in dividends.  At this point, as long as I'm not desperate to sell, I come out ahead.  The longer I hold it, the more I come out ahead.

See, that's not necessarily true. If the price stays above.0065, yes, you come out ahead. However, what if the market rate drops and you can only sell for .006? Or .004? I could be tomorrow or in three months, but you have to take in the bind market price as well.

If it happens tomorrow, I look to see if I have any available funds lying around in my account to buy more ;-).  Since I get daily dividends, the amount in my account goes up every day.

There's always a chance that you'll lose your money, with any of these investments.  For that reason, it's a good idea not to have all of your money in one place (I currently have a little bit invested in 4 places).  At this point, I could lose a bit of money and still come out ahead, as I've made a 25% return since I started trading last month.

Difficulty is not so high at the moment that dividends are going to shrink like crazy on the next change.  As long as people are still getting paid, most are not going to value their investment that low, that quickly.  While some might, the majority probably won't.  That's not saying that it won't go down a bit, but overall, those that are fearful and bail at a low price will have their shares picked up by people looking for a bargain.  If you panic sell, then you probably will lose money.

For the share price, this is still paying pretty good divs.  While the share price is 10X the cost of AMC, for example, just ONE of its divs is 40 times what their last div paid.  TAT.Asicminer is paying about 10X the VM's daily divs per week, which amounts to 1.4 times the amount that VirtualMiner costs, at 4x the cost (although I do have shares in both of them).  So at this point, it's a pretty good deal.  Later on, it might not be so much.  You do have to pay attention though, because there is the chance to lose a lot more if you don't stay on top of it.

If you like daily div then buy some at DMS.MINING, 5MH/s buying price right now is 0.02999, so 1Mh/s is only 0.005998, same daily dividend.

Except DMS.MINING doesn't work the same, and buyers better make sure they understand what they're buying in either case before jumping in.

Can you please explain this a little real quick, what makes them different?

DMS assets cannot be explained quickly, you can read the asset descriptions (it's a set of 3), or you can pm Deprived though.

EDIT: This is a TAT.VM thread after all, I try not to jump in on his thread just the same.

Got it. Thanks! Hopefully this is a bit more on-topic then... are "TAT" and "DMS" acronyms that are not specific to just the Bitcoin world/cryptostocks?

I leave it to the admins for managing images - I could have opened a can of worms I admit.

Maybe if there was a limit of how many images could be in a webpage? I have about 30 in one page but it's 30,000 words long. Another option, if limits were to be considered, would be so many images per 1000 words? I really have no idea...

This could still cause problems because people could pad their articles with images... I am really not sure how to combat this issue.

Well that's a rip.

If he allowed fresh newbies to join the contest, people would just create tons of accounts to post here and increase their chances of winning. If people weren't so quick to exploit things, we wouldn't have problems like this.

No problem! Just be sure you're good when you get out of newbie jail, :p.
8567  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: CoinURL sold to the new owner on: June 15, 2013, 01:47:18 PM
I stopped using CoinURL a month or so ago, since I was getting paid 0.00000600-0.00001200 BTC per click, which was really terrible compared to other advertising services.

Has the CPC gotten any better to reconsider using CoinURL?

PPC should be based on how much the advertiser paid for the click. This means it will (or at least should) fluctuate a lot from day to day, much like it does with AdSense.
8568  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Proposal to change Bitcoins hashing algorithm to Scrpyt-Jane on: June 15, 2013, 01:46:13 PM
ASICs shouldn't bother anyone. A rig with 4 7970 GPUs can only get barely 4 GH/s and costs over $3000. Now, for $649, you can get a rig that gives you 4.5 GH/s. ASICs are so much cheaper, with the tradeoff of having only one purpose. Also, imagine how mad CPU miners were when GPU miners came out. Must have been infuriating. Advancement of technology will always happen. ASICs just happen to be the next step past GPUs. There will be something to pass up ASICs in something like 10 years. Just watch.

Until I can order an ASIC on Amazon and have it delivered the next day and for less money than the same hashpower in a GPU, that is purely hypothetical.
ASICMINER's USB Block Erupter .

True; it'd be nice if they had a better hash:cost ratio though, Sad. It's hard to tell if they will ever pay off but I mean, if they last a few years I guess they could pay off eventually.

Thanks. I meant in terms as submissions of photography and artwork as 'developments' in themselves (contrary to just writing). This has been discussed but issues come up such as defining copyright, difficulty in assessing quality/difficulty in pressing a button (no offense to photographers just making a point about opening floodates to crappy photos such as mine), and then there was the challenge in uploading images, but that part you and others seem to have resolved.

I have no idea. Good point though - we don't want to become a garbage image depository. Not to mention inflated word counts by someone's facebook photos in a webpage.

I'm not sure if images can be deleted - I don't think so but will have to go back to DokuWiki and poke around some more...sigh...

EDIT: my hard drive has over 10,000 images. I could retire off of that if I posted it all. How would you like to see 2000+ shots of the Golden Gate Bridge from every landmark and point possible? I'll show you obsessive lol.
Would still beat pics of my locale but yeah that's what I was thinking, so probably best to clarify early on. Perhaps a limit per user or something like that which could 'showcase' decent art/photography by people who do it well, but I suppose it may be for a little later in the process when some sort of vetting is in place for 'photographer' rather than 'someone who owns a camera'.

Thanks for your work on this because I couldn't get images uploaded when I tried and took a while to upload elsewhere, link etc.

Photos will always be subjective though. What I consider perfect art (and what people may pay millions for) you may think is ugly as crap. What you may be willing to pay for I may think is crap. This would cause a lot of problems...

Yahoo still exists  Huh

What's a Yahoo?  Grin

A Yahoo is the successor to an AOL.

An AOL used to be the primary source of free cupholders (read: "trial discs").

Sounds like a Compuserve to me.

Compuwhat? o.o. Now you're just making up words!

Coinads refferal system any good?

It only pays based on referrals completing offers, but the offer system has been shut down. Effectively there is no referral system now.
Then the owners should work on removing it. I don't see any kind of work like this being done right now.

Referrals are still being signed under your account if you use your referral link.
And sooner or later those referrals will be of a good use.

Good to know! Is there a plan to add a listing of referrals at some point as well, so you can see how many you have (if any)?
Yes, with detailed statistics.

Awesome, thanks! Do you happen to have any ETA other than "soon" for this (like a month, two months, etc.)? :p

I heard that the perks include

1.   Lamborghini with chauffeur (female btw, Victoria Secret's standard and above)
2.   $5000/a minute moderating
3.   Weekly payments via Bitcoins
4.   Helicopter in case of emergency trips
5.   Israel Iron Dome installations to protect against angry scammers' homemade missiles......

What have I missed? Smiley

Please sign me up. I'll even give everyone daily handjobs and get everyone's coffee for them and lunch as they desire!
8575  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will Litecoin pass 10$ by the end of June? on: June 15, 2013, 01:33:50 PM
The factor people seem to be missing is yes gox would cause the price to spike and High but for all different reasons. Most not cyrpto fans and average mom and dad speculators only know of gox. Places like BTCe scare them Gox still has a majority of the traffic and volume. That cant be discounted and when it does pop up on gox eventually people will rush to buy because its "new" not knowing about the 1001 Alts.

I actually hadn't considered that. You're right on that behalf... one thing is for certain: the first few listed will be sold way above value and will make someone a decent amount of money, lol.
8576  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Off-Topic on: June 15, 2013, 01:32:31 PM
So how many here are on the short list for Tuesday?

I figure: 10,000 chips divided by 16 per K16 Board, is 625 small boards or 156 large boards.

We don't yet know the USD they are will be asking but we should assume at least 100% mark-up on the chip price (so as to be able to buy twice as many chips) plus the cost of the board and MOB, plus the operating costs of their SMT line, plus paying themselves. So maybe the wiser here can throw some more numbers at this and come up with a guesstimate of what they need to ask for their products.
I wonder if there will be/should be a maximum # per customer per round?  It would keep in the spirit of "decentralized"  and "P2P" I think. I am sure that there are many here with the funds ready to buy out the lot, I would hate to see that happen. I mean we are talking about 2,820Gh/s lets not lose sight of the responsibility of such power. That is almost 2% of today's network speed.

I see your view, but people could already do massive purchases of ASIC's that are in people's hands (with enough money) and GPU's to take a significant portion of the hash rate as it is.

It seems like your post is implying that there should be a maximum of these chips each person can buy?

Eh, I might have developed a hype resistance after too much exposure.

I need a withdrawal period.

The problem here is the hyping things multiple times gets less and less effective each time. Some will find it annoying as well. "Why can't you talk about something else? OLD NEWS" and such.

There is now an easy guide (I hope) to upload images to your own folder at Devtome - be it your name or subject specific. You can upload images from any pages edit box. You can link to them with ease.

Thanks for that! This helps with a lot of issues, lol.
8580  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Goliath Miner-Cairnsmore3/4/5/6 Boards - Limited run for August Delivery on: June 15, 2013, 01:21:00 PM
Is my math off or is this a 2+ year potential return in a volatile diff. and currency exchange environment?

Everything depends on your diff estimates, but i'd estimate delivery at 80MM diff.  My guess is you need to take on the risk of having it in stock to sell at these price points, or at least take on the financial risk of buying everything yourself.

What do I know though.. Good luck.

I would not argue with any financial analysis but on my calculations I would expect a lot faster than that. At best any ROI calculation is a very big guess. I remember a year ago a lot of people saying our CM1 would not make money and we are still making money off our own CM1 rig that we have been using as a development platform. I still expect to make money there for 1 or 2 years in Bitcoin and longer if we make the Litecoin jump. So far at least my guesses have not been too far off over the last year.

If I was to say anything having a rig sooner than later is going to be more important than the actual cost in any ROI calculation or actual profit returned. Remember we are delivering in August for CM4 and sooner for CM3 if chips appear on time.

As odd as it is, I've been loving your replies so far! What is the current status of the project, though, right now, and how close to release will you be taking orders? I think this could be a great thing if Scrypt mining ends up being proven as an option, rather than a theory.
