Come on guys, start a NotLambchop appreciation thread if one doesn't already exists and we can try to remain topical in here. We want information and discussion about AMHash not about the nuance of NotLambchop.

I was a bit drunk yesterday. I was trying to purchase 20 Giga Hash (2x10Ghs) hash power. By mistake I selected 20 Tera Hash (2x10Ths) from the drop down and clicked the link and it was gone. My friends told me this is the biggest bitcoin support forum. So if I tell my problem here, they can return my transaction. Apologize for just getting up to speed, but I think I uncovered a clever way to wash nefariously obtained coins: Purchase from a third-party, or one you own, hashing power. Genius! A third-party entity probably won't take the time to see where the coins stemmed from because they're happy to just receive a purchase. Hell, even BitPay didn't take the time to see that the coins they sent to BFL were only a hop away from being deposited into BFL's 1QAHV BTW, then used from that address under the guise that it stemmed from HashTrade. BitPay was extremely happy for the PR. EDIT: After a few hops backwards, I find this: http://www.walletexplorer.com/address/1GNN1Lboxaak3YLafN6o5rUwByYtBBdWhtThis is the second time I've come across NitrogenSports.eu. Yesterday, I saw it for the first time doing forensics on BFL's coins after they were returned to them from the FTC. What's noteworthy is that both Sonny Vleisides and Jeff Ownby are well-versed in setting up, maintaining, and scamming millions via online gambling sites, their partnership going back to Sonny's Laissez Faire City days. It's neither clever nor genius; it's simply criminal. Creativex did this in May of last year with the coins he stole from Basic Mining investors. It's actually the opposite of clever because it was a sure-fire way to lose probably half of the value of the coins if not more. He could have simply given half of the coins back to the shareholders and said the rest were closing costs. I could say a lot of things about Creativex but the word "genius" does not come to mind.

This is unfortunate, but not unexpected. In another thread someone had sent BTC to Bitstamp just after the email was sent out and the general sentiment was that Bitstamp should honor it. I asked how long their responsibility should continue. It's completely unreasonable to expect Bitstamp to honor a deposit to a hacked address a year or more after the event, but where does that window close? It's now been three weeks since the hack. They emailed their customers, shut down the website, posted big splash screen, posted on twitter, etc. It was not only all over Bitcointalk, reddit, etc, but it was on CNN, BBC News, CBS/NBC/Fox, etc. I had a retiree who can barely turn access his email if the mail icon gets moved on his desktop mention to me that the Bitcoin exchange got hacked for $5M because he knew I was into those Bitcoins. At this point, I would say it's probably on you if you sent a few hundred dollars in anonymous unrecoverable internet money to a company without doublechecking the address is still current after it was worldwide news that their headquarters burned down. MrTeal, your comments are insensitive and moot. Obviously Jelin1984 didn't know. Jelin - are the coins still at the address you sent to? Bitstamp only lost coins not private keys and you can't change the private keys so they still have control over those addresses (albeit shared); it's simply a matter of who is faster at moving them. Bitstamp could have easily monitored those addresses and returned any coins sent to them. Why they chose not to should be a matter of concern for anyone doing business with them.

I agree at this price point anyone who bought AMhash 3 at .0012 and held (like me ) already made an ROI if they sold today. this is stuff that makes me sad at times wish i had more faith and more steel balls and bought more instead of acting like affread little girl oh well no point in crying about it now Investing has nothing to do with balls or manliness. Also, faith is not a requirement as far as AMHash goes. You know exactly what you are getting.

The ending time is 08:00:00 AM, January 25, 2015.
Please help edit the main thread or delete my first and second replies.
8AM GMT? Yes. Same as the forum time. So only about 24 hours left. Sorry, 25 hours. Anyway it's GMT, the same as the time shown in upper-right corner of the forum webpage. Upper right corner of forum page is user configurable. It's best to simply say GMT.

Apparently I gave you more credit for intelligence than you deserve. This thread is for discussions of AMHash. Move along!
Apparently you wasted time in school as you're not able to read. Don't like my posts? Use this nice link "ignore" or STFU, idiot! This thread is for discussions about AMHash. Hurl your insults in a PM.

Not a ponzi scamming their customers "legally"
I think that's a good summary AMHash has clearly laid out the terms in the first post so you know exactly what you are buying. There is no scam to be found here. Move along. Dude, learn reading. We were talking about Zeus, not AMHash Apparently I gave you more credit for intelligence than you deserve. This thread is for discussions of AMHash. Move along!

At this point it would be helpful for the stakeholders here if the company issued a formal statement regarding at which BTC price they anticipate ceasing this cloud mining service. I doubt that many have read the TOS. And for those who have, a reiteration would probably be good and useful. Some peter paul and marys here (carrying the companyīs sign) have been claiming that this cessation will occur at $135 and if that is correct it should be confirmed.
I doubt that many in here know what "Peter, Paul and Marys" are and reiteration isn't gonna help them either. AMHash will terminate the contract when: bitcoin difficulty divided by the bitcoin value(in USD) is less than or equal to 324251573.3670911659816247582205 for a period of 10 days.

First you should check your PC with anti-virus software to make sure it is clean before install bitcoin Core Download the bitcoin Core from offical site https://bitcoin.org/en/downloadIf you need to send the bitcoin from the offline computer(for testing your private key acctually works) You have to connect to the internet first. Or you can check the balance from Blochain.info https://blockchain.info Just paste your Public key and press Search is ok is it safe paste public key to blockchain ? You can paste your public key on your forehead. The public key wont give anyone access to the coins.

Pre-order customers got "had". We got "had" as much by our own greed and the falling bitcoin value as we did the false promises and over-priced ASICs of Sam Cole.
Sorry, I don't accept that we got had by our own greed. KNC did not deliver the product we ordered when promised. End of story. Truly that is the end of the story but a story has many chapters. Given that KNC wasn't able to force anyone to purchase a device, if not for greed, then why at US10k per device (for a scrypt device!!), did we set the story in motion? What were we thinking? On reflection, I believe I was had in part by my own greed.
|
|
|
A more interesting question is how the volatility and pressure on bitcoin prices affects KNC's ability to raise capital for new investment. My uninformed personal guess is that it hurts it badly.
The pyramid scheme for KNC is harder to trick people now. Retail customers got had. Institutional investors and Wall Street on Neptune and early titans know how to count the numbers better than regular people. There were no retailers and no pyramids, we bought directly from the manufacturer. Pre-order customers got "had". We got "had" as much by our own greed and the falling bitcoin value as we did the false promises and over-priced ASICs of Sam Cole. These venture capitalists will also be "had". It will be the same story with only a handful of venture capitalists involved instead of thousands of "regular people". They're just late to the party - we were in on the ground floor.

Ok, I just bought a brand new HD intended exclusively for bitcoins. I intend to install windows 8 on it, and then some software to generate the address. Which software should I use?
And yes I know the whole process must happen offline, and I also intend to format both my HD and pen-drive right after noting down the address. Is this safe enough?
Formatting a drive doesn't clean it. You need to securely delete the files you placed on that new drive with a good drive-wiper or file-shredder. You can get a free one from Microsoft - http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb545046 called SDelete. It's a command line though and you'll have to learn the options but it's very compact ~80kb How are you going to securely transfer existing bitcoins to your newly created address(es)? Why don't you have any worries about that?

What the hellīs up with Havelock ? I tried to withdraw a lousy .05 BTC but that failed and I was informed that funds would be transferred from their cold storage to the hot one and I could try again in one business day, Really? How bloody annoying. And now I canīt even log in.
See, again this sort of post is tangential to the AMHash thread. It is "off topic" and therefore generally unwelcome. that post has everything to do with amhash, are you blind Iīm too rude to apologize for mentioning the platform on which the AmHash shares trade so thanks. You're not rude; you're merely ignorant of board etiquette and topicality.

Been a real pleasure until now and probably will continue to be, at least I hope so.
