861  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is the most glorious coin now? on: July 06, 2018, 10:54:31 AM

because he is bag holding it and wished its price to go even a little higher so he can dump it with a little less loss. Cheesy
that is the only type of answer that you will get when you ask a question like that. people will always advertise the coins they are bag holding.
862  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: At what price would you have NO hesitation to buy Bitcoin? on: July 05, 2018, 07:59:07 AM
open preev.com to see the bitcoin price. this is the price that i don't hesitate buying bitcoin at, no matter when you are reading this comment from now to 5 years from now at least!

it is obvious that bitcoin has a lot of potential and the current adoption that has happened is nowhere near the mass adoption and that makes this price for many years to be super cheap. even $20k was cheap considering the potential and the rise that it will have in the long run.
it is like saying $1000 was too much for bitcoin back in 2013!!! when price reaches $1 million in a couple of years from now, $20k would seem like nothing.
863  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DwarfPool Ethereum (ETH) payment NOT PROCESSING on: July 05, 2018, 07:38:59 AM
If this about ETH, you haven't heard about the network congestion that's with it currently?

Ethereum (ETH) Network Experiences Congestions, Gas Price Rises

No....I haven't heard. I have been busy buying a house. But thanks so much for the info and link!!   Smiley

it is such a common thing with ethereum these days that it almost happens every week. and it doesn't need a lot of transactions either. a small rise will make the network congested and increases the fees (gas) that you have  to pay to process your transactions.
that is one of the many flaws that i have always been warning people about and nobody listened...
864  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Gate.io now requires KYC? on: July 05, 2018, 07:12:57 AM
exchanges that add KYC out of nowhere without any warnings are the worst. they basically fuck their users in the ass one day and expect them to thank them also.

and in my opinion they kill their own business by doing it too. people aren't going to give up their information at all they will simply move to another exchange. that is how Binance grew big to #1 rank.
and eventually they will all go extinct and be replaced by decentralized exchanges
865  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Maybe BTC wont last because NO ONE really profits from it... on: July 05, 2018, 07:01:53 AM
If someone creates a ALT coin to compete with BTC for first place, I think eventually that ALT coin will get there.  Because at the end of the day, if that 'ALT COIN" makes enough money they can continuously push their "ALT COIN to surpass BTC.

making money is the last thing of importance when it comes to creating a currency! and so far only bitcoin has been a currency which is why it has value and it is keeping it and also increasing it every day as its adoption grows.

so if another better currency was created in the future you are correct.

so far what we have in altcoins is shitcoins made for pump and dumps and profit making. so you make more profit from these shitcoins but they won't even come close to bitcoin ever.
866  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it a good opportunity to invest or the market will slide down further? on: July 04, 2018, 07:51:20 AM
many of the altcoins are still in bubbles that have not yet popped completely so they will continue to slide down. but at the same time when you say "market" you are talking about nearly 2000 different altcoins so there are also many of them that have exited their bubbles completely and have been more than ready for pumps. in fact some of them have actually been getting pumped so far rising up in price and giving their investors a huge short term profit.
867  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is it the best time to invest on ETH on: July 04, 2018, 07:32:44 AM
i still don't consider ETH to be at its bottom or even near it. which means the current price may seem low but it is still a bubble and it makes it high. it needs to go a lot lower to reach that bottom where it can start rising up properly again.

but that doesn't mean we can't make profit from it now. there is still mini-pumps  and dead cat bounces that happen in this coin that can be taken advantage of and you can make some profit this way.
868  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: 96 BTC per syscoin - what the hell is up on binance? on: July 04, 2018, 07:19:05 AM
It's difficult to trust exchanges.  They do so many shady things now like pump and dumps.  For example: they will block all incoming deposits for a certain coin so their own bags can be dumped on the market.  It's very difficult to trust these low cap coins with all the pump and dump action, thats why I prefer to stay in btc.

uh, 1 syscoin was 96 BTC at one point a short while back.

that's a little more warped than the usual exchange crap. someone somewhere has been screwing with things somehow.
Imagine if you are buying 0.000000000000000001 syscoin at 96 btc for each syscoin price and what's the different?

I have seen this so many times on DEX just like forkdelta and etherdelta.
Someone just creating another joke order at the same time.

i don't know exactly how these decentralized exchanges you named work but in centralized ones like Binance the orderbook is a queue not a "choose whatever you want" line. which means if there are 3 sell orders like this (prices):
00.00004400
00.00040000
96.00000000

you first have to fill the first two orders on top before reaching the third one. and filling those two requires spending money. even if you execute an order on 96BTC price the system will automatically fill the first order and if there was anything left it will fill the next and next,.... it doesn't let you fill the last one.
now in reality there aren't just 2 orders there are A LOT and it will take A LOT of money to get there.
869  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do businesses/vendors that accept crypto HODL or SELL? on: July 04, 2018, 07:08:47 AM
it is obviously that like people who buy bitcoin not every business/vendor/merchant does the same thing. they  have different views, different risk managements plans and different goals, they also have different number of payments (for example someone may get 1 BTC payment among 1000 fiat and someone may get 100% bitcoin payments only and no fiat).

as an example imagine someone who wants to invest in bitcoin and has a shop. he can simply add a "Bitcoin is accepted here" sign and receive bitcoin payments instead of receiving fiat and then using that fiat to buy bitcoin. so the payment he receives won't be sold.
this is somewhat like what most of us do. we earn bitcoin and hold that earned money instead of converting it back to fiat. so that is kind of the direct investment without the hassle of going through exchanges.
870  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Do you trust your Bitcoin exchange? on: July 04, 2018, 07:00:48 AM
i think we should first clarify that there are two different things here that shouldn't be confused with each other:
1. using exchanges as your wallet or conversely to store your coins.
2. using exchanges to trade and being forced to leave some funds there in open orders

the first one is obviously wrong and there is no argument there. and even if you found the most trustworthy and safe exchange out there you still should use it as your wallet because you do not control the private keys so you have no control over your keys.

but the second one is as mentioned earlier a necessary evil and we all use them. and we are forced to leave our funds on exchanges if we want to trade like opening an order and waiting for it to be filled.
871  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Anxious key" Satoshi Nakamoto promulgated at the bitcoin conference in Lisbon on: July 04, 2018, 06:55:50 AM
yes this is somewhat of an old news. the "Alert System" has not been in use for a very long time now and there has been a lot of discussions about it so far. you can read the story and see the actual keys in this topic if you are interested: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4587836.0
872  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: If I create my own crypto coin with a total supply of 1,000,000,000,000... on: June 30, 2018, 12:19:57 PM
Unfortunately, you can't do this, because nobody pays attention to your coin, you're only treated as a hoax. The dream is always good.

OP is obviously exaggerating. and you are wrong.
people don't give a shit what an altcoin's supply is or how scammy they are. they only care about how hyped up that shitcoin is to be able to assess how much profit they can make from it.
you can see a lot of coins with billions of coins in circulation are being pumped hard every day.
873  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Famous Japanese economist says Bitcoin will not see 20,000 again on: June 30, 2018, 12:01:04 PM
each time there is a big rise like this (which has happened about 5 or 6 times in the past 9 years of bitcoin history) it is followed by a big drop like what you are seeing now.

and during that drop, big whales who want to fill their pockets with cheap bitcoin before the surge begins start telling others how it is impossible to see a surge.

we have seen them say surge to $1 is not possible anymore...
then they said surge to $10 is not possible anymore...
then they said it about $20....
then about... $100 and $1200 and now about $20,000...

and guess what happens each time?
874  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: There are more withdrawals than deposits at Coinbase! on: June 30, 2018, 11:47:39 AM
LOL at least learn how to FUD before you start topics like this which you think are FUD but are only laughable.

first of all you have no way of knowing how much deposits and how much withdrawals are happening on Coinbase unless you have access to their database.

secondly the article seems to be written by a 6 year old who doesn't understand anything about anything. they are desperately trying to link unrelated stuff together and create their FUD and say price is falling lower. and the funny thing is after the article was published we had a huge price surge upwards Cheesy

seems like people are starting to take these dumb articles as a good buy signal.
875  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The market is so positive (100% HODL) on: June 30, 2018, 11:41:35 AM
very true but i am still worried about altcoins. that market has grown too big and has not yet come out of the bubble. which means there is still a good chance that we continue seeing the dumps go on in the altcoin market and that will be big enough to even affect bitcoin price.
876  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Shall not we swim opposite to the current of the river to become winner. on: June 30, 2018, 11:29:53 AM
this is called arbitraging. and can be achieved in many ways. by using different alts, you dont impact their markets which means it doesnt hurt you next round
..

this only works in theory. in practice you won't be able to do it because the volume is not that high (20BTC). you may be able to do it with 0.01BTC or less in some cases and do it fast with super high speed to complete the 3 orders and get the profit out.
considering the fees and the fact that market is moving based on the price of bitcoin it becomes near impossible to make profit this way. let alone do it with 20BTC and affect the bitcoin price in any way.
877  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Facebook lifts ban on crypto ads on: June 29, 2018, 12:04:19 PM
However no visible impact on the market as prices of coins are decreasing rapidly.

because this news (and consequently the ban news that was a while ago) is completely irrelevant to the price of coins. just because price dropped when the "ban news" came out it doesn't mean it was the cause of the drop!
the reason for the drop is simply because altcoins are still in a bubble
878  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which is the best altcoin to invest upon right now? on: June 29, 2018, 11:48:38 AM
nothing is good right now really!
i like the idea of smaller altcoins that are getting pumped and i also use it myself most of the times but that is also risky these days since the market is being pulled down by the bigger coins that are getting dumped.
maybe it is best to not trade anything at all at times like this.
879  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Correction or Depression on: June 29, 2018, 11:37:37 AM
it is more like a bubble burst rather than a correction to me. for example when a coin with nothing to offer but a lot of hype goes from ~$100 to $1400 it needs to come down to at least $200 and best case scenario back to its real value of $100 before the market calms down.

of course when we have a lot of bag holders who are constantly told that their coins (portfolio) is going to make them rich if they are "patient" we end up have a lot of depressed bag holders!
880  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: US State Seeks to Confiscate $24 Million in Dark Web Bitcoin on: June 29, 2018, 11:29:56 AM
these amounts, no matter how big they seem to be, has never affected bitcoin price in the history of bitcoin. and we have had quite a lot of them so far in the past 9 years and this one is not even the biggest.
so no, if you are waiting for some sort of drop because of this then don't hold your breath.
