I don't mind decimals and like both mBTC and Satoshi. With time you get used to all of it.

Yes it will, probably sooner than later. I agree with above posters that March may get going again. Enjoy it and grab more coins, the days of 300s may be fleeting.

Nothing to see here people. Whats new? First, Bitcoin transactions are not totally anonymous and second, Coinbase knows more about me than my bank does. More press to cause panic - doesn't mean jack.

I think there is a possibility of 10k/coin within 5 years. I am surprised that the majority thinks it will take decades. I feel like if one merchant or one tech giant started to use Bitcoin then it could go ballistic overnight. Bitcoin is a lot of fun!

Crazy to see this old post. I was nowhere near in 2011, head still in the sand. Interesting to read everyone's reaction and how much has not changed. I think at this point we will never see the 200's again. 10x the amount 5 years later, does this mean in 5 years we can expect 10x 375.00?

Just had my first dream about Bitcoin. It involved my wallet and being locked out.

Bill Gates started in a garage. This thread is funny and I could care less about the location. ETH is still interesting and has investors now.

great news and glad to see that they are moving forward.

There is a conference for it this month so I assume it may be a couple months. Thanks for posting the youtube channel.

the price is not being pumped right now, there is no decent increase as far as i can see, we will need to wait more
agree, I don't see this as a pump. Not sure what to think of the current price except that it is nice and quiet and a good buy.

Bitcoin price is affected by various factors that cause pushes and pulls on the Bitcoin exchange price.
Influences include: •General Bitcoin exchange transactions •Company payrolls transacted in bitcoins •Bitcoin price speculation •Merchants who “cash-out” bitcoins
Also press. Press about: regulation, adaptation, blockchain, development issues, etc.

There is too much volatility in Bitcoin to properly measure whether there is a correlation or not. If Bitcoin were to stabilize we could have a better picture.

This is not the first time Russia has made these innuendos about Bitcoin. Probably nothing will happen here and it is just another attack on Bitcoin.

Did he ever say anything about decentralising wealth? That's pie in the sky stuff and impossible to achieve unless he was reprogramming human nature too. Decentralising money might be achievable but that's not going to stop exploitation or people who are hungrier than others rising to the top. What he was aiming to do was take the nefarious actors out of money's creation.
I like the pie in the sky stuff. I think that Satoshi did indeed create something that could decentralize wealth and help people in the third world come out of the shadows of poverty. I like to think a woman making rugs in Peru could sell her rugs and accept a global currency to be on the same playing field as merchants around the world. Humans will naturally reprogram themselves and we can move into a new money consciousness where all can play. I saw an article on Vice a few weeks ago about a couple alt coins that advocates called "Basic Income Advocates" propose that everyone around the world can receive a "basic income" from these coins. Check it out, pretty interesting.

I think if a hard fork is implemented
quite the opposite, a LOT of money will be lost
it would be disastrous for Bitcoin
Yup, most likely one fork will go to zero quickly and the other will decrease in value because of the confusion. People don't realize that if the number of coins double, price would also halve. My concern is with the confusion. I think the confusion will be biggest factor in price drop. In fact, I am confused.

I vote yes because many things can manipulate the price. Most things being traded are manipulated to a certain degree as is wallstreet.

so, we are the first "Bitcoin Generation" ? ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) yes this is exciting to be in Bitcoin in the early stages. I also agree that it will not die in our lifetime, we will see it grow and become part of our everyday lives.

I agree. I am not concerned about transaction fees, and usually expect to pay service fees for a good service.

It may have a bit to do with the scalability issue, it has been in the headlines for awhile now. It could be financial uncertainty in general globally - no one knows what is a safe haven these days. Whatever it is, it is a chance to get some cheap coins. Bitcoin has shown its resilience.

Your prediction is fine by me but I do think it's a but to much! New ATH before or just after the halving is the best prediction in my view! too many people are betting on this halving ... I guess price will just drop at halving... Just like the USD is going to when they hike rates this thursday.. If trading would be that easy we would all be millionairs... yes it is almost like it wont move much because everyone is banking on it. There will be some other surprise that we wont see coming. It always seems to be when you least expect it. Everyone was expecting big moves with the LTC halving a few months ago and nothing really happened.
