861  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What will keep people from getting into cryptocurrency? on: September 01, 2018, 05:20:08 PM
I thought about the unpredictability of bitcoin and its current status and it made me realized that this might drive people away from getting into cryptocurrency. What do you think are the other reasons that will keep people from using bitcoin?
I do not think that is going to be enough, most people have joined the stock market already which means that people are willing to accept risk when it comes to their investments, the biggest barrier is the change in the way they understand money, people are too used to be protected by the government, people make all kind of mistakes with their credit cards and they recover that money thanks to the protection from a centralized entity but in this market if you lose your money you are on your own and you will never see that money back, so we will require a change in the culture about how to protect our money.
862  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are the reasons behind banning cryptos? on: September 01, 2018, 04:44:51 PM
Some countries have already banned cryptos. But i am not sure behind the reasons. Could you please share your thoughts on the reasons of banning cryptos?
Regards
The reasons are clear if you think about them for some time, for a long time governments have been printing pieces of paper without any real value and they can do that with impunity and any attempt to create a private currency without the interference from the government was quickly destroyed, many speculate that this is the main reason of why satoshi decided to never reveal his identity since he feared incarceration, in any case cryptocurrencies are a threat to that model and they know it.
863  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The price appears to be going steadiliy up, time to buy in? on: September 01, 2018, 04:11:28 PM
I've been examining the price of BTC since August 9 2018. It has been very up and down. By as much as 10% at times.
I was waiting for this next dip of ~10% before buying in and Holding....  but it's looking to me like it's breaking out of the up/down trend of late and quite steadily going up.
I've so far made a string of bad moves involving crypto..
Would you recommend buying in now at around 5720 euro, or waiting for it to (hopefully) dip down to 5400 euro again, as it has many times in the last two weeks.?
Thanks for any advise.

Since you have made so many bad moves then it is the time to change your strategy, you seem to want to predict the movements of bitcoin and then earn money while trading, am I right? But that has not worked, so it is the time to try something different, become a long term holder, the prices are not going to get that much better and if you invest enough money in bitcoin then it is likely that in the next years you could multiply your money many times over if you are willing to wait.
864  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you think should invest in BITCOIN now? on: September 01, 2018, 03:45:44 PM
Why do not we do if that can be an advantage for us, investment in my opinion is very important for now, where the current economy is rapidly rising with age in this world, which is certain if we do not have savings for the future it will be difficult also our economy in the future.
From following the investments from Bitcoin, we will have the means of saving for the future, which will certainly raise our financial returns as well as our living economy.
It's time for us to learn now, and also work on the investment world from Bitcoin, which will get us the result, which is a success we want in this world.
It is obvious that those that consider themselves true holders think this is the perfect opportunity to buy bitcoin but the question is what do you want to do? I ask this because in theory it is very easy to buy bitcoin and hold it, but people are having a lot of trouble doing that right now, so I recommend that you only consider buying right now if you are a long term holder or if you know that you have the right characteristics to become a holder, something that not everyone has.
865  Economy / Economics / Re: What should we focus on more? Demand or Supply? on: August 31, 2018, 05:06:00 PM
I see a lot of people that are hoarding 100% of their bitcoins, because they believe cutting off the supply, would be enough to increase the price. <mostly speculators>

Would it not be better, if we increased the demand by increasing Bitcoin awareness and convincing more merchants to offer Bitcoin payments?

A 100% hoarding strategy is more harmful, because it cancels all the good work that was done to get merchants to accept Bitcoin as a payment option. A merchant will stop accepting Bitcoin, if their is no demand or transactions being generated for their business from the Bitcoin payment side.

We should actively encourage local merchants to start accepting bitcoins and then we should start supporting them. <No matter how low the price is>

Just buy back the bitcoins that you spend and you will be fine or use money that you would not have hoarded and buy the goods or service with bitcoins. <So when the price increase, you will not have regrets that you spend those coins>

Adopt a 80% hoarding and 20% spending strategy and we will see a massive increase in Bitcoin adoption <Merchants & Bitcoin users >  Cool
People focus a lot on the supply because that is something that they can control partially, if they hold their coins then even if by a little they can manipulate the price, this is even more true for those that are whales and are holding a huge amount of coins, but when it comes to the demand there is nothing to do, the demand will come to this market by itself once people realize how fake the current economic system really is, until that happens the demand for bitcoin is going to be low.
866  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why gambling is portrayed negatively almost everywhere? on: August 31, 2018, 04:24:51 PM
For me the reason for that is simple because of the addicted, while 99% of the people can gamble responsibly there is a small amount of the population that gives it a bad reputation and as long as people keep getting addicted to gambling then I think gambling is still going to be portrayed negatively all over the world, but as long as you control it then who cares? As long as you can play games like roulette, dice, craps or sports bets responsibly then you are fine.
867  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Australians can pay bills in Cryptocurrency! on: August 31, 2018, 03:13:41 AM
Every countries around the world should follow the path of Australia and enable a easier way of payment for everything.
Crypto are global local currency and would also decrease any discrimination created by oppressive institution like IMF and world bank which prosper at the expanse of poor countries.
I disagree with this, if I have the option of paying my taxes with the cryptocurrencies that I'm holding or with my fiat I am always going to choose my fiat, why should I spend an asset that goes up in value the longer I hold it instead of spending my fiat that loses value every second that I hold it? Some people may like to have more choices to spend their cryptocurrencies and that makes sense, but if there are entities to which I do not want to give cryptocurrencies those are the governments.
868  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: You determine when to lose or make money, Stop Blaming the Market on: August 31, 2018, 02:40:43 AM
It pretty troubling to hear people lament day in day out about how the recent market is making then incur significant lost.
Actually, i think that is total nonsensical. There is no lost without cash out during trading. You determine when to loss or make money, not the market.

Take a closer look at this:
If i held 0.1 etheruem during may 2018, when ethereum price was around 700$, it means i had 70$ as at then. But now (August) that etheruem price is at 256$, my 0.1 ether is currently worth 25.6$.

An anxious person will see this and get too scared, and so will decide to go ahead and sell his 0.1 ether on exchange for something like 24$... Obviously this person has incurred significant loss.

However, if i decide to keep my 0.1 ether during this red season and wait till green season where ethereum price shoot to 800+$, I surely will imagine myself making some profit.

Prompt:
Regardless how much of Bitcoin, Ethereum or any other Altcoin you possess, You determine when to loss money or make profit. Stop blaming the market.

Share below your opinion.
You are right, but people do that so they can avoid to take responsibility for their actions, after all no one makes them trade or invest in this market, they are the ones that took that decision, and what is more interesting than anything is that when everything goes right and they earn money then they want to get all the credit for the profits that they got but as soon as that is not the case and they get losses they do not accept that responsibility and blame the market for it.
869  Economy / Economics / Re: Why everyone only invest in the crypto market? on: August 31, 2018, 01:50:31 AM
Everyone invest in crypto market because of the high chance to earn money. When you invest a hige chance to earn profit. This is good for diversification of our funds into investing of different altcoin for a better portofolio.
People invest in this market not only for the profits, even if that is a big reason of why the invest in this market, another reason is that many people believe in the technology behind cryptocurrencies, they really think that the blockchain and its many applications are going to change the world, and another reason is that unlike the stock market earning big profits in this market can be as easy as investing in bitcoin and just holding for years.
870  Economy / Economics / Re: Why do you think the market is down right now? on: August 30, 2018, 09:59:30 PM
is it all that is going on with regulations?

Big whales just waiting?

People do not believe in crypto anymore?

is it trouble in some countries in ASIA with laws and regulations?
There are simply too many factors, but the whales are not waiting, whales recognize that this is the perfect opportunity to buy as many coins as possible so they are not going to let this opportunity go, but then you may ask yourself, if that is the case why the price is not going up? And that is not happening because the whales are taking their time, they do not want to make the price of coins more expensive because then they will have to pay a bigger price to get those coins.
871  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: $1800 to invest on alt coins on: August 30, 2018, 09:30:30 PM
What are some altcoins that have the potential for the most profit? I've been playing it safe and now want to invest in some coins that have potential to x the most
With the market being as low as it is I really do not see the necessity of taking huge risks in order to make profits, for example look at ethereum its price is below 300 dollars and I do not have any kind of doubt that the price is going to improve in the next years in fact I think is very likely that we are going to see a growth of 10 times its current price in the next five years, that will multiply your investment and give you 18000 dollars in profits which is not bad in my opinion.
872  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Time to move to BTC on: August 29, 2018, 10:16:32 PM
As much as i agree with the analysis that the cryptocurrency markets will recover, i don't  agree that btc will be the best hide out... There are still altcoins that will surely hold out
There are obviously going to be some altcoins that are going to hold their price and will make you good profits, however the question is why do you want to risk it? I'm sure that there are going to be a significant number of altcoins that are going to disappear and many of them are going to be a surprise to many because they thought those coins to be very strong, so if I were you right now I'll invest in bitcoin, ethereum, ethereum classic and other good coins like those.
873  Economy / Economics / Re: Turkey’s economic crisis can trigger the next crypto bull run on: August 29, 2018, 06:57:44 PM
The country of Turkey is too small in economic terms to trigger the next cryptocurrencies bull run, if the crisis is big enough in Turkey it is is entirely possible that we are going to see something similar to what is happening in Venezuela, in which people are using cryptocurrencies to avoid the inflation caused by printing too much currency, the only way we're going to get a bull run out of the economic crisis of a single country is if that happened in the United States.
874  Economy / Economics / Re: Reason why other ban cryptocurrencies on: August 29, 2018, 04:56:48 PM
There are so many reasons why crypto being banned, the crypto doesn't really give a good benefit to the country, the country cant control it and its easy to do tax evasion, the money laundering reason is a bit absurd, but the government will used a lot of ways to surpress crypto movement, and as long as the government cant gain control, the government will not accept crypto
I will say that what you say it is not completely accurate, cryptocurrencies are not good for the government but are good for the population in the country, you just need to look at countries that are in the middle of an economic crisis and how people are using cryptocurrencies to protect themselves from the bad policies of the governments and they do not like that, since how are  they going to control you if they cannot control your money?
875  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My sweet and bitter experience about bitcoin on: August 28, 2018, 07:37:19 PM
To my observation most of the miseries that happen in the crypto world are mainly cause by three factors 1.Greediness 2.Impatient 3.Carelessness. This three things has makes so many crypto investors and holds to regret, I think we should learn to aviod them so you will not loss your profits or investment. Avoid greediness despite the fact there's huge profit in crypto its not over night job you need to be patient and art smartly when your investment in growing. Stop be careless so you will not mistakenly drop your private keys🔑 instead of wallet address.
What is interesting is that the same is true for every other activity in the world, people are very impatient they can no longer wait for anything, just look at the forum, you will see many people that are desperate because of the current prices of cryptocurrencies and this has only lasted a few months and yet a great deal of people already sold their coins and in my opinion we are going to see similar prices to the ones we are seeing now for years, which means that there is still a lot of people that are going to get out of this market due to their inability to wait.
876  Economy / Economics / Re: ETF rejected on: August 28, 2018, 06:48:33 PM
ETF is not important so much. We dont need it. Bitcoin was created to not comply with the legacy system, and as such can stand without the parts of broken economy. We will see bitcoin stronger and stronger
We do not need it that is correct but at the same time people are so desperate about the state of the market and the low price that it shows that they are willing to do anything to try to push the price up, and a way to do that is for the ETF to be approved, that is why you are seeing so many people pushing for it even if it doesn't make a lot of sense when we take into account the philosophy of bitcoin, but at the end it doesn't matter since the price will recover by itself like it always does.
877  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: best investment strategies on: August 28, 2018, 06:29:24 PM
I try not to diversify my investment so much in this bear market, because I know that there won't be many alts that will survive, especially because every day we have like 3 or 4 new ones, so what I do is to a put purchase restrictions on each dip, for example, ETH lowers $300 I invest $100 more, lowers to $250 I invest a little more, and so on until I am sure of my investment, and satisfied not to miss this next bull market.
I agree with this, there is not much of a point in trying to diversify your investments right now, it is as if people cannot see that almost all altcoins are going down in value and if that is the case what is the point of investing in them, invest in bitcoin and in just a few selected altcoins, like ethereum or litecoin, investing in anything else is just a waste of time and money and I do not know about you but I do not like the idea wasting my time or my money.
878  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Does holding long term can be worthy despite of unpredictable market? on: August 28, 2018, 06:00:30 PM
To reduce the risk of loss, indeed investment in the long term is now an alternative for investors, because I believe the value of crypto will increase from year to year even though it is unpredictable how much it will increase
Holding your coins for the long term is the best way to avoid the volatility of this market, I know that there are many people that are scared about what it's happening and they do not want to hold their coins for such a long time, but if they really care about the profits that they can get they have no other option, because trading instead of reducing your risk is going to increase it, and I do not know about you but this market is already very risky and I do not want to make it even more risky to myself.
879  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin will gain more value despite Investors Worries? on: August 28, 2018, 05:01:55 PM
This is very normal for cryptocurrency go up and down. The prices never stay the same, it always fluctuates. Bitcoin has always survived this price drops every year and been able to gain its value. So, I think bitcoin will gain more values. Just be patient and see what happens.
If there is something that people do not have too much these days is patience, many people are desperate they are losing a huge amount of money and many of them could not afford to lose what they invested, we know that is a mistake but people make mistakes like that all the time, so this means that they're expecting a fast recovery of this market but the likelihood of that happening is very low and so many are deciding to sell their coins despite the bad price.
880  Economy / Speculation / Re: Just sold all my BTC because on: August 26, 2018, 06:56:07 PM
This market does not have the steam to break 10K
Will buy back in when things are making more sense.
Bitches are buying ETH and Bitcoin Cash
BTC dominance is going down hill
A Bear Market could be triggered if BTC goes below 9520 according to one analysts. it has already done that today: Tread carefully and use stop loss if you recently bought in!
When you sit and see BTC go down 450 USD in a day you need to ask yourself WHY? Whales didn’t do it is called market sentiment. The whales spiked it 1000 USD in 5 minutes not long ago and caused this mini rally!
Well it seems that since you made this thread many things have changed, the price is still very similar to what it was back then but you definitely made a mistake when it came to your assertion that the bitcoin dominance was going down hill in fact the opposite has happened and even if the growth of the dominance has gotten slower we are at a point where the bitcoin dominance keeps growing and now it is siting at 53% and it is likely it is going to keep going up.
