Not many long-term thinkers here, just people who thought they would get an easy ride to riches. That day will come, but no one said it would be easy.

It takes patience to build a garden can watch the ground and toil at it all day but it takes time for the seeds to grow into something larger
At least that's my analogy
8642  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I am pretty confident we are the new wealthy elite, gentlemen. on: April 11, 2014, 07:03:23 AM
http://astrohacker.com/ahc/bitcoin-is-the-economic-singularity/

After reading this, the scale of black market and digital economies and the effect Bitcoin will have on them I am pretty certain we are going to be very wealthy men -- even with a sum as small as 10 Bitcoins. It's just so hard to believe. We are only in the beginning storms with these significant rallies from 10 to 20 dollars. I will not be surprised to see prices from hundreds to thousands in the coming months.

The world just isn't going to be the same and we have been blessed as the pioneers.

What are you going to do with your Bitcoin wealth once your coins hit upwards of $10,000 a pop?

This is pre my era where anonymous posters were allowed to post if they paid a fee who brought this ghost up from the grave lol

He was last seen here on April 05, 2014. To be precise at 03:32:39 AM. So his 2.5 years tryst with Bitcoin talk comes to an end?

Gone less than a week = Too early to tell.

Probably was like I have such a large post lead I can take a break and still own you all  Grin
That or he wants to see who will miss him
8644  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will be 10k+ Q1 2014. on: April 10, 2014, 07:39:36 AM
I knew there had to be an opposite thread somewhere on one end 10 dollars on the other end 10k

Nice that you were keeping count ^_^
Well it's right there, under my activity level.

I'm honored that you should decide to put it here Smiley
The 7000th will be here too, unless you stop updating the thread.  Smiley
I certainly will keep it updated!

Well that seems like a fun thing to do so I will help now and then when it dies for a few days Tongue
8647  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russia Invades Ukraine. Whats next? on: April 10, 2014, 07:30:40 AM
Everything seems right but there was no such thing called "Red Army"  Smiley The Red Army was renamed into Soviet Army in 1946. Roll Eyes

He-he speaking of that Russia counters the American boycott with its own
Russian President Vladimir Putin turned up the heat on Ukraine on Wednesday by threatening to demand advance payment for gas supplies

8648  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Name something you've actually BOUGHT with bitcoin on: April 10, 2014, 07:28:57 AM
I recently purchased domain name and webhosting using Bitcoin.

That is a popular one with all the web hosts that take bitcoin now
Can think of something people would want to buy with bitcoin
Babysitting  Grin
8649  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What Do You WISH you could buy with Bitcoin? on: April 10, 2014, 07:27:11 AM
What product or service do you wish was readily available for you to purchase with bitcoin?

What is the biggest barrier you think prevents it now?

I would say insurance based services paid in Bitcoin would be interesting using a distributed escrow contract could withdrawal the funds at the prescribed rate and would not need to worry about it for long periods of time, also can close the contract at any time without being sold to.

Volatility and difficulty in regulations

I do recall one insurance company that showed up on here accepting bitcoins.

They offered insurance for house, car, etc.

Thinking about it I recalled that thread but forgot where it went
The idea seemed interesting though its just i can't recall how they said it would work in practice although if enough people used it could become a discount to all users kind of like the ones alumni of a university can get off car insurance lol.

Babysitting.

^_^ That one I can see a demand for ha-ha
8650  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Paypal 10% discount on Overstock purchases, hmmm, I wonder why: on: April 10, 2014, 07:23:55 AM
The problem is that I don't want to use Paypal even if they are offering a 20% discount. Definitely not worth it. Well... give me a 50% discount, I'll consider using Paypal.  Grin

Well combine it with Ebates and then get cash as well as a discount Smiley

Now this is "then they fight you"! Let's party!

^_^ First they Ignore you then they ... I got this quote he-he finally at that stage Smiley
8651  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Warren Buffett is an enemy of Bitcoin? Interesting!!! on: April 10, 2014, 07:17:01 AM
I don't think of him as an enemy. He just doesn't get it. Lot's of people don't get it.

I agree Warren can remain ignorant he doesn't need to get it, he will use it if it becomes handy to him
8652  Economy / Speculation / Re: My mother asks me where her 3k dollars are, what should i tell her? on: April 10, 2014, 07:15:23 AM
If she trusted you the money to invest then she is partly responsible for trusting you. That doesn't help with your feeling of guilt ofc, but yes you should just tell her.

It is volatile stuff but yep tell her but then ask her duration as well since you probally just need to ride it out
Good time to dollar cost average though
8653  Other / Off-topic / Re: What Song are you Listening To? on: April 10, 2014, 07:12:15 AM

8655  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will plummet to $10 by first half of 2014 on: April 10, 2014, 07:04:22 AM
Bitcoin will plummet to $10 by first half of 2014
Running out of time, then this goes into the trash.

More than a few sighs of relief will be had when that occurs although the fact that the price has been dropping for a while does mean it goes to the trash with distinction lol.
8656  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Hey Looking to buy bitcoins on: April 10, 2014, 06:59:59 AM
well i live in a town where theres nothing but dirt. I doubt ill find a bitcoin atm and the campaigns? are they legit? and once i get 400 i could get paid for using this? and yeah, good ol days

They are very legit I'm happy I get paid fairly well been using Ritz was 0.0006 last month now 0.0005 but moving up to the Senior Tiers in a few weeks as activity grows its the newer campaign only been around 2 months Primedice is the oldest one so some people still use that pays a bit less.
But got a good 0.216 so it really does help to have a little bit of change

And yah Arizona I think nothing but desert and (Road Rash Arizona Map)

Actually don't need to get to 400 just think your account can get to it Senior is 240 Hero 480 so 240 posts = 240 activity

We are just upgrading. Our servers just couldn't cope with the amount of players.
It is all coming along well. We hope in the next few hours we will be back up.

That's good to hear just means your experiencing growing pains which are the good kind Smiley
8658  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Hey Looking to buy bitcoins on: April 10, 2014, 06:48:32 AM
I remember there used to be a legit site where you could buy up to 15 bitcoins. I guess the site got taken down during the year but there arent really any options? but i remember I waited a few weeks because that was my only option then the site came up but i guess im stuck with it a year later ._.t

Well if you can find a Bitcoin ATM machine that works or join a sig campaign you can earn some Bitcoins after you've been here long enough to move your activity levels to the payment levels  Wink
Actually based on your account age your activity can reach 396 the Senior Member levels 400 posts = 0.32 BTC at 0.0008/post or Ritz 0.36 at 0.0009
And 15 BTC I miss when I could do wire transfers last year to the Bank so know what you mean but that was when bitcoins were still 90 dollars

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=333916.0

I found a meetup in Arizona no idea if this is close but you can buy from them as well

Did not notice before but I certainly noticed it now
8660  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why Chinese money will move into BTC - ban or not on: April 10, 2014, 06:44:32 AM
why is it only the chinese who are buying? (at least according to fiatleak, which I'm starting to think is a lie)
It reads buying and selling of transactions that is why also it really does have a lot of activity
