These guys are tied to Bytecoin right? Run by some Russion Mafia guy? Thought it would happen when they made enough cake off of adding BTG. So it's just a couple of guys on reddit whining over $140?

I believe 140k, in euro-speak.

WELL, that would make a hell of a lot more sense! Thx. Smiley

So who wants to bet this is what takes down the world computer? Rather fitting I'd say. LOL

8642  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: December 08, 2017, 12:42:25 AM

If the reptilian weren't a lunatic scammer then probably all three would have come to fruition. Have you seen some of the crapola with $100M marketcap now? Completely centralized dorkfest spreadsheet rpg seems like it could be  worth more than at least some.

You got that right! did you see my Bitcoin-Moon ANN thread. LOL there already is one! hah

Eh, I was trying to point out where our minds were with regard to price predictions. Debating whether or not Bitcoin would reach $2000 or Monero $50 by the end of the year seems very, very conservative in retrospect. How many expected Bitcoin's price to crash after it surpassed 3k?

I certainly thought there would be a large retractment but suddenly getting all the mainstream attention threw out all possibilities of calling the market. But when this thing pops it's gonna be epic. Probally be years as those bankers know how to run a scam forever and then not have to pay for it.

DAMMIT!!! JW remembered to change his roster, it was brutal before but impossible now! Cheesy

Hey, lets have some fun. Lets see who can pick the best lineup from my team. I have already spent hours on it so I know who's playing really my only change right now will probally be Marvin Jones for anderson if staford plays and Ertz and delany swap depending on questionable status. half my guys are questionable. Lol

8644  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: December 07, 2017, 11:28:34 PM

I agree, but calling the top is so difficult. Will Bitcoin peak at 20k or 40k? or 80k?

Remember this?

The following clauses hold true in 50.01% or higher probability (in my opinion), so I can bet 1:1 on anyone (OTC, any amt&currency(or cross-currency)) who does NOT believe (every item is a separate bet in this case);

if you bet (correctly) that:
A) nothing happens, I pay 7:1;

if you bet that
B) at least one does not happen (and they all do, by 31.12.2017), you pay 7:1):

CLAIMS:

1. Bitcoin (BTC) will reach $2000 this year.

2. Monero (XMR) will reach $50 this year.

3. CK will reach $100 million market cap this year.

I am open to favorable early settlements. I need to raise about $10 million to pay my debts.

That was only seven months ago.

That was actually a pretty good bet, very spot on, it pushed. Especially when you knew #3 was false from the start. Smiley

But of course we all know no-one would have ever collected if they won. Lol

Nice, just bought 100k.

Getting in early, good man.

Details to follow if I feel like it.

How large of a premine are you planning?  Will the lunar surfaces allow cockroaches to survive?  Are you allowing people to reserve translations at this point?

I love Bitcoin forks.  I'm assuming you're planning to lead with a Binance listing?

These are all very hard questions that I will have to appoint the BEST people to answer.

Very clear announcement, but don't get just one thing - is there some preferences for institutional investors?

NO, This will be a fair launch (translated I'll get alot!! ).

Bitcoin Mars you mean?

Good choice, maybe

A very good project, definitely will sell my house for this bitcoin moon. Sir, if you don't mind, please do bitcoin sun, bitcoin pluto, etc.

I like your thinking!

Well it seems that there actually is a Bitcoin Moon! Who woulda thunk it.

so what do we go with Mars,Sun, Galaxy, Universal?

Bitcoin-Universal sounds good. What do you guys think?

It's a little dizzying to see the xmr/btc price get so ravaged as the USD value creeps back up towards 300.

I think there is wisdom in that old scripture that there is nothing new under the sun.  However, there are things that are only seen by one generation out of 100.

Bitcoin, and it's legitimate children are not a black swan.  Hell, there are black swans everywhere.  The Crypto Swan is fire engine red.

I think you might be onto something.

XMR performs well during the huge bitcoin pump while other altcoins mainly go down. This is exciting to see XMR is adopted by the mainstream in dark net.   Grin

Sorry, I'm waiting for Bitcoin-Moon.

There is already a bitcoin moon (BTCM) i had some of them a while back but i traded them on yobit for some BTC. here's a link to how they are trading on yobit right now : https://yobit.net/en/trade/BTCM/BTC i got airdropped my ones, held them for a while but was focusing on too many different coins so had to let them go. #DUMPINGLIFE

LOL, I should have searched for it first. Doh~

Anyone else unable to withdraw XMR from Polo? Stuck in "Pending" status all night long.  BTC withdraw works just fine?  Huh

Thanks

Must be Arb opportunities. Polo gets "Stuck" alot during those times. Smiley

... Deeponion SPAM. ...

HEY, I made up a word for you and I think it's gonna chatch on, it's INSTANORE. Wanna guess what it means?

I’m pretty sure Surae and the MRL gang is on the case. I remember at the NY meetup him basically talking about (I’m paraphrasing here) how he inherently doesn’t trust the algorithm because it was created by the bytecoin devs.

Wasn't the algorithm created by Nicholas von Saberhagen, and the bytecoin devs just implemented it in C? Besides, how much of the original C code are we running nowadays anyway? Less than 5%, isn't it?

Good question, I don't remember what the real story is or even if we have one.

What miner is best for Monero?. I hope someone will reply to me the best config and setup for profitable Monero Mining. Thanks!

You will get the best advice in the mining thread.

I'm thinking when Tether crashes Polo is gonna go with them.

IDK what their expenses are, but the probably at least $200k gross daily revenues from the top 5 or so markets surely are enough to keep them solvent.

You would think but if that were the case then we would not be seeing so much shady shit from them.

Hi Guys
Is monero still worth investing in ?

Absolutely but when is the real question. I've found this is the most acurate site for forcasting. Smiley

Hi Guys,

I'm a noob to the crypto space but have some money in BTC and ETH, if you were going to get a 3rd coin would you go with XMR or LTC?  I like the anonymity with Monero but get worried that govts could intervene.....Leaning towards LTC.

Any help would be great, thanks.

Just lol, if the Gov's do try to intervene then it will be on transparent chains like LTC, DUH

Thanks for the responses, I read on a reddit forum in which someone said you eventually could go to jail for owning monero......kinda made me second guess.

Didn't take long for you to show your real intentions LiteCoin shill. And I just thought you were an idiot. Stupid me. Smiley

I wouldn't doubt it, its been going full retard for a hell of alot longer than I think anyone has predicted except Mcafee but I think he has to eat his own dick.

Only retards would post like this, do you really think anyone in this thread even finished reading yyour all caps rant before putting you on ignore? I know I didn't Cheesy

LOL  Retard  Cheesy

dammit I have the patent on calling idjuts retards! Tongue

More and more demand for privacy coins like Monero!!

It is not just criminals who wants privacy... actually the bigger transactions comes from wealthy folks who are trying to keep their wealth a secret.

Take a look at the leaks from Paradise Papers and Panama Papers and we can all see that it is our political leaders, royalties, top business leaders etc who are really hiding all their transactions and wealth..

criminal transactions pale in comparison to them...

And you can bet your ass all the worlds countries 3 letter agencies are using it for payoffs. Imagine that a tool they didn't have to fund it's like a dream for them!

True. Corporations have a lot to hide  Grin Grin Grin

Corporations are people too!

I had a Polo withdrawal sit all  night long in pending status. tried 4 more times since, nothing. BTC withdraws just fine. Not making me happy.  Angry

Yeah, I've been withdrawing everyday for a while at my limit and no problems. Problems started about 2 days ago.
I'm thinking I'll need to convert to BTC and Shapeshift once its out. It's then abou short term timing. Grrrrr

They probably needed to pull from cold wallet. Most likely many withdrew since prices on exchanges were so different. What is good is that Polo reduced its withdrawal fee. Smiley

I recently had a Polo withdrawal sitting in 'pending' status for 24 hours, after which I opened a help ticket with them, they sorted it within a couple of hours and the withdrawal went through. Still dependable in my opinion.

Wow really? I waited months for support to contact me and eventually just gave up.

Ya they've been dropping my orders (bad, but workable) yet taking the fees (bad, not acceptable) forever (whenever its busy), never got any responses from support and gave up a long time ago.  Just call it the cost of using their exchange.

Yup, I've been complaining about this for about a year now and they closed all my tickets as solved without so much as one word to me just completely ignored them. I really should get in touch with my attorney generals office but i'm just a lazy fuk. Cheesy
8660  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency on: December 06, 2017, 02:13:07 AM
You know I think we should talk about the community being open to changes to the cryptographic hashing algorithm. It's not cryptonight specifically that we are wedded to but the opposition to application specific hardware in mining.

How do you guys feel about a hard fork away from cryptonight and into something different if A) a good new hashing algorithm presents its self and B) asics begin to be deployed at scale for mining cryptonight based cryptocurrencies? The advantages are twofold. One, we will be building community consensus around the idea that the hashing algorithm is a flexible thing and so avoid being forced to face the prospect of a bitcoin cash type situation. But also the acknowledgement of this consensus within our community will help to discourage the development of cryptonight hashing ASICS.

Thoughts?

Well eventually we are going to have to goto a quantum resistant POW (or POW replacement?)  But I'm not seeing any reason to rush ATM, not as long as we remain ASIC resistant. That also begs the question how do we know when there is an asic? We blame alot of hash on botnets but we cannot verify it's not asic afaik. Also as I stated years ago we should not change until there is a asic because that will show those that develop i that they wasted their time and effort. We should have a backup just in case though ready to go.

I'd also like to see a paper I can comprehend on ZK-Starks but thats another discussion and hopefully NobleSir will write something for us plebs after he digests it. Lol
