One can always dream I guess although markets do change quickly
8663  Other / Off-topic / Re: The Goats are out of the pen. Where do we get our milk from now? on: April 16, 2014, 08:14:57 AM
Should we just name this the Goat picture thread
8664  Economy / Economics / Re: losing faith on: April 16, 2014, 08:12:15 AM
Think about why you got into BTC and forget about the price for a sec.  Is a short term loss as bad as not having access to the technology in the long run.  if the price shoots up are you gonna care a about this issue that much?
Its shoot up is already in progress.

Indeed it made a nice move upwards Smiley
(As an aside elephant avatar is tempting me)
Raise that trunk up to the moon XD
8665  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My Apple Thread - I Admit Defeat. on: April 14, 2014, 04:48:44 AM
Well half the battle is being aware, that said I didn't really have much of a beef on apple less PRISM and the stuff in the other thread.

As for windows I still prefer Windows 7
I instantly hated Windows 8 because I DO USE MY DAMN DESKTOP to put things to access later and the Start Menu rage lol.
And well RIP Windows XP the patches stopped coming out so time for that forced upgrade for 25% of computer users
http://www.npr.org/blogs/alltechconsidered/2014/04/12/301796021/tech-week-heartbleed-the-latest-bubble-and-windows-xp-retires

What does that got to do with apple not sure went on a rant but since I'm ranting what is the lifecycle of an apple product in software support.
I know they always put out new phone models not so much knowledge on the IOS though and when they end support for their older products.

Most of those bitcoin millionaires only come here to brag.
believe me the one who are wise don't brag..!

Well, a truly wise or meek man wouldn't, but I think it'd be hard not to if we were in the situation where we became pretty rich off such an investment. I wonder if we'll ever be tested?  Cheesy
haha maybe after 10years. :p but if i become financially  successful i'll goto some secluded place and build a house of my dreams there and will live my life  happy after :p

Yeah, until you meet a woman and boast to her about all your self-made riches in an attempt to woo her and boom there goes your money and meekness  Grin.

Ain't that the truth! My first wife took me for half a house and half my cash, second wife took me for half a house and half my cash and now I rent my house and use Bitcoin. LOL

HA-HA ^_^ So is that half the rent and no cash just make sure not to tell her about the Bitcoin or you might become the first legal case regarding a digital currency XD
8667  Economy / Securities / Re: Neo & Bee talk (spam free thread) on: April 14, 2014, 04:31:56 AM
Perhaps.  Though if that's the case, the finance enthusiasts in this thread didn't spend those five minutes before "investing" in Neo. Undecided

Hard to believe that less than 1 month ago their were champagne bottles all around at the launch party
8668  Economy / Speculation / Re: Over 70BTC bet that Bitcoin will be $10,000 by end of 2014 on: April 14, 2014, 04:24:31 AM
No pays: 1.152642 BTC
Well it is a 26.1% Yield if you can wait seven months right now in BTC so not a bad bet for no
 in 7 months 1 week
If it is like $3k in novebmer more people will vote no though

Think you get a higher payout the earlier the bet is put in but not certain on how bitbet works myself
8669  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin 5 years from now on: April 14, 2014, 04:21:42 AM
Not to be pessimistic but aren't the majority of countries against it?

Not to my eyes: http://bitlegal.net/.

I agree its just that as a community we tend to focus on the contentious areas and not the green zones

OP was last active on: 16-03-2014
I wonder what he's doing now a days? Or just sitting  on his desk and staring at the BTC price graph, trying to make a sense of what he did?

Probably. For his own well being he must come to the conclusion 'it was worth it, since I only had this chance once', otherwise I fear for his sanity.
I hope he will take it that way.

Probably on a vacation or he will be and come back to see what happens a month later

Nyancat goes bitcoin?
LOL! Nyancoin actually is a valuable idea Cheesy

For some reason I am imagining a long cat and the proof of work is a really long scrypt called the Nyan chain
Oh man felt like I just had a 4chan moment
8675  Other / Off-topic / Re: The Goats are out of the pen. Where do we get our milk from now? on: April 12, 2014, 07:56:57 AM

Was there a pot of bitcoins at the end of the rainbow?

Somewhere over the rainbow
Way up high,
There's a land that I heard of
Once in a lullaby.

Somewhere over the rainbow
Skies are blue and the Bitcoins gleam,
And the dreams that you dare to dream
Really do come true.

Someday I'll wish upon a star
And wake up where the falls are far
Behind me.
Where troubles melt like Bitcoin drops
And the price rises above the chimney tops
That's where you'll find me.

Somewhere over the rainbow
Bitcoins fly.
Bitcoins fly over the rainbow.
Why then, oh why can't I?

If happy little Bitcoins fly
Beyond the rainbow
Why, oh why can't I?

Didn't even need some LSD for that one lol.

8679  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Documentary Released on: April 11, 2014, 07:06:58 AM
Just released our short Bitcoin documentary on https://www.SQ1.tv

The Bitcoin Phenomenon

Starring:

- Gavin Andresen
- Trace Mayer
- Erik Voorhees
- Fred Ehrsam of Coinbase
- Jeremy Liew (venture capitalist)
- Peter Vessenes of Bitcoin Foundation/Coinlab
- Bennett Hoffman of Buttercoin
- Angela Keaton of Antiwar.com

The primary storyline looks to show the difference in perspective between the libertarians/early-adopters and VCs/entrepreneurs looking to take Bitcoin mainstream. "There is clash of ideology and ideals" as noted by Jeremy Liew. Erik Voorhees offers a steadfast position. The central question asked is does Bitcoin need to shed its politics in order to pursue mainstream adoption.

We also have full-length interviews with all of the subjects above as bonus footage.

https://www.SQ1.tv/bitcoin

Now that I have seen it, can comment it was pretty good I liked how they explained transactions and made it a knowledge based video interesting stuff sort of a note guide of the general video topics.

-   Presents a Novel Interesting Solution to problems
-   Cash for the Internet also a payment network
-   Piece of digital information that has value as long as no one else knows that information value belong to you
-   NSA in the 1970s spread in the 1990s Public Key Cryptography
-   Used by everyone
-   Solved the double spending how do you prevent it from being sent to two different people at the same time if It is digital easy to copy, but Satoshi made it so everyone notices one is noticed the other is just ignored, key technical breakthrough
-   Could a bunch of people who don’t trust each other just by passing messages create a working function system
-   Don’t need to pay anyone to make sure system is valid paid by the system itself
-   Tied into the creation of new Bitcoins make sure double spends do not happen
-   System validates the transactions and make sure no one cheats
-   Tied into the creation of new Bitcoins
-   People validate the transactions miners make sure no one cheat and are awarded Bitcoins
-   Need to validate the mining supply proof of work
-   Miners need to run algorithm
-   All validate transactions participate in reality to see who is rewarded Bitcoins
-   Fundamental promises made by Bitcoin network
-   Supply too complex every four years half are given out (halving)

Keeps going but it was neat

Not many long-term thinkers here, just people who thought they would get an easy ride to riches. That day will come, but no one said it would be easy.

It takes patience to build a garden can watch the ground and toil at it all day but it takes time for the seeds to grow into something larger
At least that's my analogy
