Ill refund 90$  BTC first.

Hopefully what you meant to say is you will refund the total amount of BTC sent originally, because that is what is obligated considering you have no agreement in place any longer.
8702  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What Is A Social Justice Warrior (SJW)? on: June 20, 2015, 01:10:37 AM
What topic are we discussing again?
Have you never participated in a debate before? They often meander. When they don't wander, arguments tend to quickly devolve into folks arguing the same points and counterpoints in circles with one another.

I guess you are just so many light years evolved from us "conversatards" that you no longer have a need any longer to follow the same premise
More fascistic ignorance, what a surprise. This is an internet forum, as such no one is required to accept anyone else's premises, we are each free to dispute or reject any premise of our choosing. Actually that's sort of the point. I note that you've failed to dispute a single one of my premises in your post, only attacked me personally. Weak.

I'm no more evolved than anyone else here, but at least I understand how argument works.

"If you lead, they will follow"

Are you sure you are having a debate? Because to me it looks like you are simply using this discussion as a venue to push your own belief systems rather than discuss the actual topic everyone else is discussing. That's how debates work, there is a premise and the validity of it is debated. If you aren't following the premise, then you are simply just talking at everyone while completely ignoring what anyone else is talking about. Debates go both ways, you are just ignoring the topic of discussion and dictating to everyone else what you think is a better premise to discuss because it supports your own ideals. This isn't an exchange, this is you dictating the topic of discussion to everyone else while claiming I am doing the same by pointing out you aren't even following the topic of discussion.

Sad where did all the real communists go?
Murdered or sent to gulag/prisons/concentration camps by Germany, USSR, and USA in the 40s and 50s.
Yeah but mostly in communist Russia.

8703  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What's your opinion of gun control? on: June 20, 2015, 01:01:43 AM

Well that's a neat little piece of information that tells you almost absolutely nothing.  If that's your basis for your opinion, you've chosen a context the size of a peep hole.

It seems like rather a straightforward statistic to me. In what way am I fudging it?

The UK is possibly the most restrictive country in the world with gun control, not sure. Per capita it has 0.25 gun deaths per 100,000 people. The US has 10.64 per 100,000. That's 40 times more gun deaths.

You can give me all the 'personal protection' 'criminals will get guns anyway' 'people will find other ways to kill themselves' shit you like. When American gun deaths are 40 times lower I'll be prepared to listen to that.
Ok, there is more gun deaths, but what about crime in general?
In the UK there are 2,034 violent crimes per 100,000 people. …The US has a violent crime rate of 466 [violent] crimes per 100,000 residents
That is almost 5 times more crime than the USA!

What no one tells you about the "gun death" stats, is that it includes suicides, self defensive use of firearms, and police encounters with the use of firearms. Gun control pushers love to parade that stat around as if they are all murders.
8704  Other / Politics & Society / Re: italian school forcing children to become trannies on: June 20, 2015, 12:57:11 AM
LOL so much fail... brainwashing in this thread run so deep. Neckbeards don't even see which side they're on...

Children are brainwashed from day 1 that:
blue is for boys, pink is for girls.
Boys must wear "boyish" clothes, and girls "girlish" clothes. The actual style doesn't matter, as long as it conforms with mainstream dogma. Conformity for the sake of "safety" because concerned parents don't want their darling children to get exposed to other people's prejudice and bullying, when in actual fact it's their own fear and prejudice that gets transferred, thus perpetuating the cycle.
boy toys, girl toys...
That their urinating bits are like an implanted microchip in a dystopian movie where, inevitably, it's some robots or an over-the-top communist society that dictates their personal future. Think: Logan's Run.

Sorry but that theory has been proven incorrect. It has been demonstrated with peer reviewed studies that gender preferences towards certain toys for example are innate BEFORE socialization. This is also echoed in primate tests.

https://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/homo-consumericus/201212/sex-specific-toy-preferences-learned-or-innate

This also explains why certain industries are dominated by men, and some are dominated by women, in spite of large programs to incentivize a more balanced gender demographic.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p5LRdW8xw70

As far as designating males blue and females pink, I am not sure I would classify that as "brainwashing". Additionally I find color choices to be largely inconsequential to this discussion, because we are talking about changing a child's gender identity by having them switch gender roles. EVERYONE has a gender role, like it or not. Colors are potentially indicative of gender, but if you saw a boy wearing pink pants, or a girl wearing a blue dress, chances are there would be no confusion about their gender for anyone.

People may feel more like one gender other than their biology, but the fact remains they still are either forced to choose one, or deal with the consequences that come to any individual for being "different". I don't think it is appropriate to confuse the gender identities of every child on an industrial scale just so that a minority of people who are unhappy with their biological gender are unwilling to either accept their biological state, or continue to deal with what happens to ANY individual when they are "different" regardless of gender.

I am not saying ostracizing people for being "different" is acceptable, but I also find it fairly naive to assume that you can condition this response out of people. It is pretty much a biological vestige of evolutionary processes. People who do not look like you are not of your tribe, and therefore potentially pose a threat.

I certainly don't think educational institutions have a right to do this either, because it also has negative effects upon children who are comfortable with their own gender by creating confusion which was not there previously during a critical stage of forming their own gender identity.

Not every boy and girl are brainwashed. In fact most boys and girls are perfectly happy just being boys and girls. What gives anyone the right to take that away from them en-mass to satiate a small group of people?

Why does every single happening have to be down to 'Them'?
There are plenty of people who are nuts enough without shadowy powers encouraging them.

Did I address "every single happening" or just this instance? The FBI as well as other agencies here in the US have a very long and publicly documented history of finding impoverished feeble minded people, pumping them full of drugs and bad ideas, then giving them the weapons and money they need to commit a violent act so they can justify their own existence as well as create more social pressure for gun confiscation or more unconstitutional anti-terror laws.

You are talking James Bond movie conspiracy, I am talking military tactics that have been in use by various interests since society existed. Sure there are plenty of nuts, but nuts don't just randomly pick racially/religious driven targets that happen to create a perfectly timed political firestorm a few months before an election, and in the midst of riots in several places nation wide consisting mostly of blacks reacting to police violence against them. It is very clear various groups are attempting to initiate a race war in the US using a combination of violence and media. Chastise me all you want for seeing patterns you are willfully ignorant of, it doesn't make you any more correct, or make my observations incorrect just because the perpetrators aren't publicly known.

What is your opinion about re-adding *negative* trust feedback so that user's m trust rating show as ????

It is only a matter of time before this is exploited regularly. This is also a good reason to start logging trust rating changes.

@V.Lace I'm wondering the same : why no others Green Trust members pronunce about this

Right now it appears to be nothing more than a matter of poor customer service. However, if this issue is not resolved in a timely manner, I would not rule out leaving shdvb a rating that references this incident.

As far as I can tell the customer could have done nothing to prevent this situation, if I am wrong about this please explain the mistake the customer made. I don't think it is appropriate for you to just ignore them and keep the funds in spite of your agreement of no returns, because again the customer had no way of preventing this situation as far as I can tell.

If you make an agreement that is impossible for one of the parties to comply with, then that is not a valid contract. This is called "impossibility" under contract law.

http://legal-dictionary.thefreedictionary.com/impossibility

He is not required to comply with your agreement of "no returns", because the reasons for which he is unable to comply are of no fault of his own and outside of his control. As a result, the agreement is void, and since you have provided nothing in exchange, you have no legal claim to the coins he sent you.

I would think the ding to the perception of his customer service would be motivating enough, especially for a smaller amount, but IMO this is beyond a simple matter of customer service. It seems to me that in addition he has no legal claim to the sent coins, and is obligated to return them.

Some time ago there was a "mass shooting" in my country, a 16 year old disturbed teenager tried to slaughter his classmates and teacher, well, there was no shooting because it may be quite difficult to get a gun, specially if you are 16 years old, he tried though.

Not being able to acquire a gun he then proceeded the "massacre" with 5 kitchen knives, in the end 5 people were injured without severity and no one was killed.

The guy confessed he was motivated by the Columbine and Sandy Hook massacres and the goal was to kill 60 people to set a record.

Still no mass murders/shootings in my country till today.

So in short, an insane child couldn't access guns in your comparatively tiny country, therefore gun control works. Cool story bro. Too bad the overall rate of crime and violence percapita is higher in countries where guns are banned.

Hey people who bumped this thread in June, were you guys not aware of this:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1074434.msg11485118#msg11485118

Vod has been long gone for more than 20 days.  I think you may just want to let this thread die now.  Good luck, everyone, moving along...

Unfortunately the damage he has done did not just leave with him... also he will be back (under a new name).
8713  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Adam Back's email to Mike and Gavin on: June 18, 2015, 11:24:55 PM

It is also a bit insulting to suggest that there is a conflict of interest with the blockstream group as sidechains don't address the scalability problems

How can you say "sidechains don't address the scalability problems" when you don't even know what sidechain technologies are on the drawing board ?

And what is the point of sidechains anyway if they don't address the scaleability problems amongst others ?

The whole idea of them is to experiment with variations and innovations that would otherwise go into bitcoin but which are potentially too radical to hardfork without maturing for a period outside the native blockchain.

It surely follows - conversely - therefore, that if a blocksize change can help bitcoin scale, it can do the same for a sidechain.

Bitcoin, as the cryptocoin flagship, should not be used as the testing grounds for all these new blockchain technologies, that is what alts are for. If these technologies work on a smaller more expendable coin only THEN should it be implemented into BTC. Bitcoin IS the establishment now, which means it is not as lean and fast as it was when it began. There are too many industries depending on it which may be negatively affected with such experimentation regardless if it was the right choice or not. Alternatively this also solves most of the issues of this debate when done this way, because if it is successful elsewhere then people naturally will support it being added to BTC.

(bolded by me)
If you really want to prevent this in the future, perhaps you can add a confirmation screen to your transaction process that asks the user to confirm that they are not doing the transaction on behalf of a third party, and if they say they are, display a detailed warning of this method of criminal activity so they understand the risks before continuing.
That's a really good idea. Two thumbs up!
Not only to prevent fraud but also to avoid potential trouble that comes with money laundering laws.

It IS a good idea. Though i think OP wont be able to change anything in the software. Though he might be able to push the provider of the ATM to bring out an update of the firmware/OS so that he can update his ATM.

Does the BTM manufacturer have a thread here where I might suggest this?
8716  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Reddit’s science forum banned climate deniers. on: June 18, 2015, 08:31:28 PM
Only 2% of the science community deny climate change. This 2% are the fools of the community and/or are sufficiently appease by big oil to continue their flakiness.
The present media, such as it is, give a bigger % of pages to the deniers than the 97% (or the can't-make-up-their-minds) 1%.

Do you really believe big oil could only afford 2% of scientists if that was their goal? Your argument doesn't even make sense based on your own premise.

Quote from: Lethn
You know you've fucking up when even hardcore communists are fed up of you...
Using the opinions of random internet strangers as a metric for truth ("am I fucking up?") - smells like quality science to me broheem.  Roll Eyes

If I didn't know better,  I'd say you're not actually interested in getting to the truth of this matter at all, because on some level you realize you are absolutely 100% full of shit. Just another ignorant privileged white man oblivious to the suffering of the rest of the world. And so you shall remain, until you find the intellectual courage to throw yourself at my feet and beg me to teach you the error of your privileged ways.

But of course,  that's all hypothetical,  I know better after all. You've come honestly to this joining of minds to seek truth and wisdom together,  have you not? Careful, the easiest person to fool is yourself.

Have fun! I'm sure you'll learn a lot today, unless you're an intellectual coward piece of shit who refuses to expose himself to any information that contradicts his pre-established biases.

Have you noticed that you are the only one here:

1. Judging people based on their race
2. Judging people based on their gender
3. Consistently spewing personal attacks
4. Not understanding your own arguments enough to argue your points in
your own words while simultaneously crying about how easy it is for one to fool themselves, just not you though right?

(P.S., linking a bunch of videos on subjects you believe is not the same as having a premise and an argument. I know it is hard to differentiate debating from an opportunity to inject your favorite brand of politics into a discussion, but doing this is not the same as making an argument.)

You are so convinced of your righteousness that you need not even waste your time understanding your beliefs because they are so just, and anyone who disagrees is so unjust it matters not if you act in a racist, and sexist manner, because anyone who disagrees with you is over privileged anyway and needs to be taken down a notch for the sake of justice.

Self sufficiency is not profitable. In addition people who are self sufficient are not dependent on government, therefore they can not be controlled. Thus they must be forced back into a system of dependence.

This looks to me like another case of a nut they scraped up off the street, pumped him full of drugs, wound him up, handed him a loaded gun and dumped him in front of the church. This method is becoming quite a popular tactic to push gun control. Too bad no one in the church was armed, he might have not killed anyone. He certainly would have never been able to shoot 9 people.
