8701  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is TumbleBit ? on: December 21, 2016, 08:12:59 AM
I read the article as the whitepaper is too big and It contains a lot of technical details that I don't really get but I have to say that It sounds very interesting. In other words , this should be better then the current mixers and more trusted to use instead of a third party service but If we compare it to Darkwallet , which one has a better privacy protection ? I also didn't find anyone from bitcoin core speaking about TumbleBit , is this planned for sure after SegWit and LN ?
8702  Economy / Reputation / Re: has this DT account changed hands? please check! on: December 21, 2016, 06:41:42 AM
I'm not sure the "Email changed recently" message shows for how long after changing the email but the password has been changed on the 6th December

Quote
December 06, 2016, 06:00:46 PM - johnniewalker - password changed

and on 6th December exactly , he gave a positive trust to that account so after thinking about it , there must be something suspicious here.
8703  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blockchain.info - Bitcoin Block explorer & Currency Statistics on: December 20, 2016, 08:51:19 PM
Hello. I send some bitcoin and i see that Estimated Confirmation Time disappeared. Is a problem with my network or it has been eliminated?

https://postimg.org/image/9ortkq5nn/

I tried to check a few transactions and I can't see it anymore either , It's better to check another blockexplorer instead , they are probably doing some updates because I doubt they would remove such an important feature as this one.
8704  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: typical Bitcoin user on: December 20, 2016, 06:25:32 PM
It's pretty much impossible to get those information's , age is not required while making a bitcoin address/wallet and profession is clearly not too , and finally this is valid for the country too but even If the wallet you are using reads your IP , It doesn't mean anything as Bitcoin users care about their privacy and most likely using the wallet through ToR or a VPN.

Now of course , exchanges gather information's such as Birthdate , name and that kind of stuff but the users who provide real info are a minority so It's impossible to get an accurate number.
8705  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blocktrail.com | Wallet | Explorer | API on: December 20, 2016, 04:06:40 PM

If by "not loading" you mean you have the three colors but the form never shows up then , I used to have this problem in several sites (including this one) and I usually fix it by switching to another browser or by clearing the cookies and cache of the browser .
8706  Economy / Exchanges / Re: List of bitcoin debit cards on: December 20, 2016, 03:44:30 PM
CoinsBank are giving free debit cards because of Christmas (I guess you still have to pay for the delivery though) , the promotion is valid until 31.12.2016 as mentioned on their thread.
8707  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / What is TumbleBit ? on: December 20, 2016, 02:54:52 PM
While reading an article on cointelegraph a few days , I saw a mention of Lightning network , SegWit & TumbleBit and how they could help bitcoin grow but I still don't understand what is TumbleBit and when we should expect seeing this update as I never heard anyone speaking about it
8708  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: I want to create Bitcoin Wallet Website and Mobile Application. on: December 20, 2016, 01:37:35 PM
Ok

Can i transfer bitcoin to any addresses using it.

Well , according to the NBitcoin Library , A TransactionBuilder supporting Stealth, Open Asset, and all standard transactions is there however in the Sample of the SPV wallet that I gave you , It clearly says :

Quote
Create a new wallet, generate a new address and try to send some money to this address from another testnet wallet. You'll see it appear in the list along with the confirmations. (I did not implement send feature, this is left as exercise Smiley)

So If I got this correctly , It's available in the Library but you should implement it in the SPV wallet.
8709  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Costs for running Electrum Server on: December 20, 2016, 01:14:10 PM
I used to run one on a container on my dedicated machine. I stopped because running an electrum server was actually rather resource intensive, and i needed those resources for other things.

IIRC, you needed the full blockchain sync'ed and indexed (txindex=1), you also needed to download (or generate) a leveldb db for electrum. The total size of the bitcoind + electrum db was about ~150 Gb IIRC.
I ran it on a container, first i allocated 4 Gb RAM and 2 Vcpu's, but i upgraded the container to 8Gb pretty soon, and the performance still wasn't that great.
I'm pretty sure nowadays, you'll need at least 16, preferable 32 Gb of RAM, an SSD and 4 vCPU's to run everything smoothly. This wouldn't be a real problem, but you get no tips and no recognition to run an electrum server (at least, i didn't get a single thank you, nor a single tip)

For how long you was running the servers ? I sometimes check the addresses that I see in the messages on the console tab and I found that some people sent funds there , I know It's nothing much but well...
and approximately , how much you think It would cost me ? I'm not going to run it from my home or anything , I will be buying them online (probably buying monthly).
8710  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: BTC-e.com Banned my account with 100k $ on: December 20, 2016, 12:37:06 PM
If you are sure that you didn't break any of their rules (I haven't used them personally) and everything you are doing is legit then I guess you should continue to contact them hoping for an answer as there isn't anything else to do at this point . In the other hand , If you really got scammed (for no reason) then you should post some proof so users stop using their services .
8711  Other / MultiBit / Re: Problem with multibit on: December 20, 2016, 11:21:27 AM
Multibit classic is not longer supported for sure but that doesn't mean you can't send or receive funds anymore. As long as you have the private keys then you shouldn't be worried much but from where you are getting the TXID ? I checked in several block explorers and It doesn't exist ..
8712  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Signature campaign for bitcoin on: December 20, 2016, 11:03:42 AM
Have you checked the Overview of signature campaigns  : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=615953.0
There are plenty of gambling and dice related services but Bitmixer.io[1] or Spectre[2] should be an alternative for this problem.

8713  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: I want to create Bitcoin Wallet Website and Mobile Application. on: December 20, 2016, 10:54:34 AM
Thanks for reply.

Can you tell me NBitcoin Use whithc API?
How many addresses create in this account?

Logically and since It's a Library within Itself , It shouldn't be using any third party APIs and you should be able to generate as many addresses as you want. I suggest reading the documentations as I said earlier so you have a better idea.
8714  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: I want to create Bitcoin Wallet Website and Mobile Application. on: December 20, 2016, 10:15:53 AM
I suggest taking a look at this Library , It's the most complete one when It comes to C# : https://github.com/MetacoSA/NBitcoin and there is always a SPV wallet sample that comes with it : https://github.com/NicolasDorier/NBitcoin.SPVSample
You should also read the warnings and the documentations and everything because unless you know what you are doing , I wouldn't recommend continuing this (If the wallet is going to be for public) , there are plenty of security measures to take.
8715  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [Exchange] Liqui - trade and earn 24 APR on BTC, ETH on: December 20, 2016, 09:40:34 AM
I thought you said that everything is stable , the deposit went fine and funds got added to my account , I bought few ICNs and I tried to withdraw them (I confirmed the email I received) but I still didn't receive anything till now , I'm having "Processing" as a message on the status , It's being a few hours now ...
8716  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If bitcoin prices rise up to $100,000, will you still gamble using bitcoins? on: December 20, 2016, 09:12:10 AM
I'm not really a gambling supporter , In fact I'm totally against gambling but If that scenario ever happens , I don't think anyone would keep gambling , at least not in a website ... people may find it hard to trust a gambling website for such a big amounts and the higher bitcoin goes , the higher chances of "we got hacked" scenarios coming out . (Include both exchanges and gambling services).
8717  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bitcoin debit card on: December 20, 2016, 09:00:39 AM
I have a question: if the card is rejected by ATM or by a merchant, what will happen to the funds?

It's always possible to use the card online If you can't use it physically and If you don't want to then you can use the funds on the card to buy bitcoins once again and withdraw them to your address.
8718  Bitcoin / Electrum / Costs for running Electrum Server on: December 20, 2016, 08:25:00 AM
I want someone who is already running an electrum server and has so experience with this subject so It's easier for him to answer my questions and any help is highly appreciated. I want to know how much It costs to run an Electrum server and what is/are services that you are using to do that .
8719  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Quantum computing destroying bitcoin, dwavesys.com on: December 20, 2016, 07:32:27 AM
We are far away from those Quantum computers and I don't see anything to be worried about , the difficultly should adjust itself when It comes to mining as for the public and private keys then It has been discussed several times:

1. http://bitcoin.stackexchange.com/questions/6062/what-effects-would-a-scalable-quantum-computer-have-on-bitcoin
2. http://www.newsbtc.com/2016/10/16/will-quantum-computers-spell-doom-bitcoin/

Overall , solutions could be implemented over the years and BTC dying could be the least of our problems when those computers comes out.
8720  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: is chronobank for real? on: December 20, 2016, 06:58:44 AM
They have thousands of followers on facebook and twitter, they do not need to run social campaigns, and now after they have colloected about $2 millions in one day without social campaigns, they proved that those campaigns have small effect on the project.
Dude ,you are wrong so many levels here ! Like no trace of information remotely found ! Tell me ,if they hadn't invested a couple of 100s on social media promotion, why would I see them on every damn site I open on the internet? If there was bitcoin bitcoin site ,I'm sure I'd find them there.Who said they raised 2 mill in one day ? Please link me to the facts.

It was actually in 14 hours (the ICO started on the 15th of december) and the statistics are all available in the main page of their website. I however agree that the funding is kinda dead at this point , I mean almost everyone with big cash invested in the first hours then ... pretty much nothing.
