8701  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why dump traditional payment options for Bitcoin? on: October 18, 2016, 12:03:26 PM
I had a interesting discussion with a bunch of students from a 1st world country over the weekend. They made some good arguments,

which needs to be addressed. Political views aside, what would motivate people to use Bitcoin in a country where there are loads of

other payment methods to chose from?

Some reasons I gave them was :

~ Danger of centralization and all the evils associated with that.
~ It's cheaper
~ It's faster {should be under normal circumstances}
~ It's FREE to use by everyone {no permission needed}
~ It's global

What other reasons will you add to this, to convince someone to dump their current payment methods?

Bitcoin is an alternative to the traditional payment systems and this is good.

It`s better to choose between alternatives rather than having no choice.

Quote
Something strange is happening to Bitcoin. Once viewed as a way to do business in the darkest corners of the web, the digital currency has rather suddenly become a favorite talking point among humanitarians and international development enthusiasts.

Bitcoin isn’t just for illicit transactions or Internet hobbyists anymore, but for helping the poor, the downtrodden, and the unbanked.

Perhaps Bitcoin can save them! Perhaps Bitcoin can save the world!

Regardless of whether this attitude is realistic—and more on that in a minute—the people focused on demonstrating the social benefits of Bitcoin are challenging existing narratives about the cryptocurrency. While early commentary focused on how Bitcoin might be used to buy drugs online, or for sending money without a paper trail; the social-good argument suggests that these uses were simply the first use-cases in which Bitcoin’s utility became apparent. But there are billions of other potential use. There are, for example, people who face significant obstacles in operating within the formal banking system—and these folks look very different from the shadowy hackers that tend to be seen as the prototypical Bitcoin user. They could be low-wage migrant workers sending money back home to their families, for example, or activists receiving money from abroad during tumultuous times.

"Perhaps bitcoin can save them!"Really? This is pretty unrealistic.

Bitcoin can`t save poor people.Poor people don`t have money to buy bitcoin.

Some poor people don`t have PCs or mobile phones. How can btc help them?
8703  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why do YOU know Bitcoin? on: October 18, 2016, 11:54:16 AM
Where have you heard about Bitcoin for the 1st time?

I know Cryptography for a long time but I heard from friend's mother and housemate there's Bitcoin 2012. Didn't care, stupid....  (ˊ̥̥̥̥̥ ³ ˋ̥̥̥̥̥)

I signed up 4 Bitcointalk today.

The first time i heard about bitcoin was in the TV news back in 2013.

Didn`t care about bitcoin and wasn`t very aware of btc potential.

I was stupid and ignorant.
8704  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Webmoney suspended my wallet due specific transfer. on: October 18, 2016, 06:57:49 AM
Webmoney suspended my wallet due specific transfer.

And they require me to send what I've delivered of service for this transfer.
proof of delivery or proof of service rendered.

I can give them the receipt on the trade as proof of exchange. or screenshot of payment sent. besides the transfer happen in July.

But I am worried that WebMoney doesn't accept bitcoins exchange or suspect it as money laundry or something, So what is my choices to keep my account since it has more amount then this transfer.

So, I am worried that they keep my account suspended when I give them this evidence or proof of exchange.

please, advice.

I don`t understand  your thread.

Did you trade bitcoin for webmoney,or you sold an online service for webmoney payment?

If you trade bitcoin for webmoney,i don`t think that any proof will work.
8705  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do people really make millions of $ transactions? on: October 18, 2016, 06:54:36 AM
http://prnt.sc/cvl4x0

These BTC amounts are equivalent to millions of $. Do people really make such huge BTC transactions? I'm surprised. What could these transactions be for I wonder? These must be really filthy rich people who have millions of $ of BTCs. I personally would be very wary of keeping millions of my money online like this especially knowing that it isn't safe (example: mtgox and bitfinex hacks).

I think that using btc is safer than keeping your money in the bank.

Maybe i`m wrong, but the big european banks have big problems right now.

Storing bitcoins in exchange platforms is a bad idea.
8706  Other / Off-topic / Re: Is any new way here to earn bitcoin very fast? on: October 18, 2016, 06:51:03 AM
As we all know that to earn the bitcoin in these ways like....
1. Trading
2. Investment
3. Gambling
Anybody know that anymore way is here to earn the bitcoin very fast?
But in my view, only 3 ways are best to earn the bitcoin and not more way is here.

What do you mean by very fast? How much btc do you want to earn "very fast"?

1 btc per day,per hour,per minute?

You should add "scamming" to your list. It`s illegal, but you can make bitcoins very fast. Grin

Just kidding. Grin
8707  Economy / Economics / Re: Mining coins save or sell it? on: October 16, 2016, 12:22:24 PM
Right now i trying to mining a lot of coins, i thinking its mabey its good to save the coins like 6-12 mdr before selling it.

Can orther explain about its a good point else about the risk its to high to lose to lot on it?

Save 60% and sell 40% to cover the electricity costs and maybe some other costs.

Is mining profitable in your country?

I think the price will increase if there aren`t any btc exchange platform "hacks".
8708  Economy / Economics / Re: Prediction for 2017 - share your views on: October 16, 2016, 12:19:40 PM
While creating this topic, bitcoin is standing at 618 USD. So I want to know your prediction for the year of 2017. What is the milestone you have targeted?

Will it be able to hold its strength at 750 USD by the end of 2017? Voice your opinions.

I hope that bitcoin price will reach 800$ during the last days of December 2016.

After the first three months of 2017 the price might fall.

Let`s hope that there won`t be any "bitfinex" problem again.
8709  Other / Off-topic / Re: What's your least favorite thing about Bitcoin? on: October 16, 2016, 06:33:15 AM
Tell me all about it

The fact that it`s too risky, difficult and expensive to buy bitcoins.

Sometimes the confirmation time takes too long.

All the HYIP,cloud mining, ponzi bitcoin scams.

Those are the 3 things I hate about bitcoin.
8710  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why do you have Bitcoin? on: October 16, 2016, 06:30:19 AM
I voted up for Buying other things since BTCitcoin is the only means of legal online payment base on my geographical location and on a side I keep some in case it goes way higher than it is now in the future (a little reserve) plus you get to keep your identity a bit off the table so it's a plus.

Presonally i use bitcoin for all the things in the list.

The most important factor for me is that bitcoin is different way for me to make money.
8711  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Halving Party 2016 on: October 16, 2016, 06:27:41 AM
I'm surely will keep staring at my screen, and seeing the price rising  Grin

Thinking that the btc price will increase after the halving was a big delusion.

Nothing happened after the halving and the Halving "party" is over.
8712  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Bank??? on: October 15, 2016, 11:49:49 AM
IS there any Bitcoin Bank that really works like bank that provide interest for customer that available in this world?

No.We can`t create a bitcoin bank and we don`t have to.

Bitcoin is an anti-bank currency.

The whole purpose of bitcoin is to liberate people from the banks.
8713  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin help poor countries? on: October 15, 2016, 11:47:27 AM
Bitcoin can't help an entire country. but it can surely help the person who use bitcoin if he's poor. and if a country have a lot of bitcoin users then it will surely be beneficial and for that country.
bitcoin need some contribution. if you contribute with bitcoin and crypto currencies . they will reward you for sure. but if you think bitcoin should give you fortune without doing anything just because you are a poor person then keep dreaming.

That`s right at some point.

Maybe bitcoin can help some poor and small countries if they adopt it 100% and use it as paper money.

Bitcoin price can be more stable than the national currency rate of that country and this is a benefit.
8714  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SegWit and LN are really interesting altcoins... but that is not Bitcoin. on: October 15, 2016, 11:43:52 AM
Why does Core call everything an 'alt' but their wildly variant version of Bitcoin gets entitled to be 'the Bitcoin'?

Don't be fooled: SegWit is the alt.  Lightning is the alt.  These radical changes are being forced into the network because Blockstream has been able to convince a few Chinese miners (not decentralized) to follow their stupidly dangerous plan.

What is Segwit and what is LN?

What is the purpose of this thread?

Why do you care about Segwit and LN?
8715  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How do I give BTC away? on: October 15, 2016, 06:30:07 AM
I want to give the smallest practical amount of BTC to friends and family to introduce them to it.
What is the best way to do this?
What are the smallest amounts that can be sensibly transferred?
Thank you.

I don`t understand.

You want to print bitcoins and give them to your friends and family,or you want to transfer the btc online?

You can`t transfer 1 satoshi, thats for sure. Grin
8716  Other / Off-topic / Re: What is the Future of Bitcoin ? on: October 15, 2016, 06:27:10 AM
What's the future of anything? I think everything is pure speculation at the minute, but it's exciting to see where it goes. I think it'll be used quite heavily in the remittance market and for other money transferring services etc.

I totally agree with that. It`s pointless to ask such questions.

Bitcoin is doing just fine and we should be happy about that.

Problems can make bitcoin and the bitcoin community only stronger.

8717  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Bitcoins safe? on: October 14, 2016, 11:48:44 AM
Is it safe to keep all of my assets in Bitcoins? And how Department for Combating Economic Crimes, can affect my account?  What permissions they need , to freeze all my money ?

Department of combating economic crimes?Really?

Why are you asking this? Are you a scammer or something?

"What permissions they need"?They don`t need any permissions freeze or block accounts loaded with stolen

funds or money earned from illegal activity.
8718  Economy / Economics / Re: Tell me a secret: any way to earn 0.1 BTC per week? on: October 14, 2016, 11:44:02 AM
I would like to know if anyone of you earns 0.1 BTC per week or even more? Is this possible and what is best way to earn it? Your experiences, suggestions and advices are very welcomed.

If there was a legit method to earn 0.1 btc per week, nobody is going to tell you the method for free

becauce it will get saturated.People sell such methods in the "digital goods" category on this forum,

but i don`t know if they are working and legit.
8719  Other / Off-topic / Re: How many bitcoins do you have in hand now? on: October 14, 2016, 11:39:14 AM
How many bitcoins do you have in hand now?

It should not be lots. because a lot of man don't know how to keep it.

I have 0,16432 btc right now. It`s not much. Grin

What do you mean by "don`t know how to keep it"?

Do you know how to keep your btc?Are you a newbie here?
8720  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Tipping Uber drivers with bitcoin on: October 14, 2016, 06:47:52 AM
I started to drive with Uber on my spare time and I am trying to come up
with and idea that promotes customers to tip with bitcoin.

Other drivers say they put a sign in their car that states tips are not included in
fares and are appreciated based on your experience. Maybe I can make
a QR code and post it for them to copy? Any ideas?

A QR code is the best idea.

I`m not sure that there are many bitcoin users who use Uber.

Anyway,it doesn`t hurt if you try.
