Dont they accept an (official) proof of residence? Usually thats enough for exchanges.

While I understand where you are coming from, I dont think your approach is in any way reasonable. To report any post regardless of content as "crap", "spam" or "has a paid signature" will not resolve the problem, but just create another one - report spam.
Whether or not paid signatures should be allowed has been discussed several times in the past. My opinion is: While paid signatures introduce spam they also help some people to get bitcoins at all. Those with paid signatures get banned more easily and there is less tolerance for spam and crapposts. So if you feel that a certain user is postpadding or spaming just to get paid, collect a reasonable amount of posts that attest the correctness of your feeelings and contact a moderator / admin. Sometimes a single post is not significant for the overal posting behaviour of a user.
And if you follow the payment structure of paid signatures and their development over time you will see that not only the mods and admins take action against the spam but also those offering BTC for posts. Less and less campaigns pay by post and those that do limit the number of posts. These limits have been lowered more and more to lower the incentive to spam. E.g. prime dice allowed some to earn up to 2.4 BTC a month in the recent past. Dicebitco.in has (or had, not sure if they keep the campaign at all) very strict rules regarding spam and banned several users from the campaign durring the first period.
The quality of posts is not directly related to the signature, but depends on the person writing the post. I see users here that write utter crap or mainly copy pasta what someone else wrote without a paid signature. In my opinion their posts are nothing more than just spam, yet the sometimes spark discussions. Opinions on this are different and in the end the staff has to decide what level is tolerable.
Yes, please report spam and useless posts, but report posts and not signatures.

Got unconfirmed TXs? IIRC getbalance by default requests the balance of all accounts and the TXs must have 1 or more confirmations.

Does Electrum need to download the entire blockchain as well? If not I guess I'll have to wait for Multibit HD development to finish...
Anyway, this is an interesting and useful discussion (for me anyway) so thanks for the replies!
Nope, no need to download the entire blockchain. There are probably other hierarchically deterministic ("HD") wallets, which is the behaviour you want from wallets that run on multiple machines. See the link Newar posted for more info on wallets.

all aboard Those standards you shiny knight hold others and yourself to are amazing.

Who cares about some arbitrary "ratios" displayed locally in a client?! What matters is how much you actually do upload...
Indeed, so in order to avoid a "bad ratio" just share the blockchain data torrent until you uploaded at least as much as you downloaded.

Thanks both! I want level 1 deep for DefaultTrust and others I add 0 level deep. Any idea on how to do it? ~~MZ~~ Select depth to 0 and add everyone that is trusted by DefaultTrust directly by hand. Check weekly/monthly if DefaultTrust was changed if needed. I dont think its possible to do complex rules to automate this.

I have cleaned up the thread, if your post was deleted please do not take offence, a lot of the posts that were deleted were supportive posts. I just want to keep this thread focused on the campaign.
Currently we have two full member spots open, 10 senior spots, and 9 hero spots.
Id like to join once my current term is up (tomorrow). If you have any questions, just ask or send me a PM

Depends what you understand as wallet. The wallet.dat holds private keys and some meta data like labels for addresses, etc. It comes with 100 pregenerated addresses and as long as you only use those you will not run into desasters. Worst that can happen is that you have not yet revealed the 37th address on PC B so your balance might be off. This could easily fixed with a rescan. Its a pain but not kind of pain that loses you coins. Another thing are the labels and notes, youd have to make them the same by hand or sync the files via 3rd party tools or by hand in order to keep those identical. Things will get ugly once you need address 101 on either of the machines, because now core needs to generate new priv. keys. There is no way to avoid drama without syncing the files (via tool or hand) here. Every new TX can make the files get out of sync because of change. A change address is usually a fresh one with core, but if there are no fresh ones left it has to randomly generate a new one. One wrong sync now and the priv. key that controlls the change is gone and so are the BTC.
If you want something like that use a deterministic wallet like Electrum or Multibit HD (not finished AFAIK). That way private key number n will allways be the same no matter where you use the seed.

For summary, So I restart with boostrap.dat (21 Mb Gb)
and let my computer ON during 4 days and it's nothing move, i come back?
it should not take 4 days, but yes. Get the bootstrap.dat via torrent wait till all the blocks are verified and do the rest "on foot". Moreover, if download go under 500 mo I try many node of list you give me : (5.9.24.81 107.155.104.194 106.185.32.195 178.79.173.71 94.242.57.173) I'm not sur so I ask, to change my node, I must erase file peers.dat et use command addnode "IP" add Nothing else?
Usually that should be enough, but its easier to make a bitcoin.conf file [1] and just delete/rename that file once you are done. You tell about connect command that's it?
connect is used in the config file to make sure you connect to a single node. Its not allways working perfect so its best to have a long list of good nodes. And of course I try to improve my english level hahaha Learning is allways good [1] https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Running_Bitcoin#Bitcoin.conf_Configuration_File - example you can easily edit with instructions where to put it.

Yeah, Bitcoin-core is a pain because of the blockchain, oh well. I already started downloading it months ago, so why not continue with it.. :p
If you make sure you get a good node to sync [1] its not that painfull. [1] https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=800893.0

-snip- He hasn't been as forthcoming as he was with his IPs; the last ones, AFAICT: 5.9.24.81 107.155.104.194 106.185.32.195 178.79.173.71 94.242.57.173 Mine: 84.200.34.113 50.7.68.180 And yours Thanks, probably will start a collection of sorts I'm french If I understand correctly, you say download is also use to check chainblock and not only download them. But it's strange when you wait 2 days and you have no change Yes it is. With 500 méga to download, how many time I need to have all blockchain ? When I look others topic, they say it's realy long but I see nobody talk about a problem with block stop progress during long time.
Blockchain size is currently ~22.000 MB [1]. Maybe I must change setting to do faster checking of chainblock?
The checking only starts after a certain block (known as checkpoint). With the latest version this is block 295000 [2] Or I just need to wait long long long time but if i do one verification with 4 days so i need 4 months to use finaly bitcoin core ? Not 4 month, but maybe 4 days. Its hard to say, because a good sync node might disappear and the next one is bad. Newar : I don't understand what you say with your IPs :
I must add one of them like a node?
The list of Nodes on the wiki I gave you earlier is old. The IPs from Newar are nodes from users (zvs* and Newar) that are actually running on servers so they are up all the time and should give you good speed. You dont have to add them, but it can help. [1] https://blockchain.info/charts/blocks-size[2] https://bitcoin.org/en/release/v0.9.3* most likely but we are not 100% sure.
