Do you have any documents that you can print to attach to the coin with a little explanation? Thank you.

I do not. It’s just the coins and this thread. Maybe in the crypto collectibles encyclopedia there’s some further explanation, but I don’t know. I’m not big on documents because I don’t like storing them.

Now they're saying Blake Griffin is the next suspect to go to the Nets...  Hard to believe how fast Griffin fell from being the franchise player in LA to being bought out in Detroit.
Granted his athleticism seems to be gone (he's only dunked once this year last time I checked) he is still a decent shooter and a good presence on the floor.  He's a good insurance policy if one of the big 3 for the Nets gets injured, as he would make a decent fill in.  I could also see him adding a lot of punch to their bench.  The Lakers are going to have to make a move soon.  They need to get their hands on Drummond if they want to secure another ring without too much heroics.

Bitcoin doesn't need 2fa to safeguard nearly a trillion dollars worth of wealth.  I don't think this forum needs it to safeguard accounts.  As long as users were willing to accept their account is lost forever if their 2fa access is lost I don't see a downside to it from a security standpoint.  Not adding something like this seems like it is saving the administration from a lot of headaches and protecting a lot of users from themselves.  Hard to argue it wouldn't protect against account hacks, but it would introduce a new problem.
8764  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How much btc do you need to secure your future? on: March 05, 2021, 09:49:40 PM
I see the answers of people saying 1 BTC and I think maybe you don’t realize how little money that is, or maybe I don’t realize how low cost of living is in other places, or maybe I’m just greedy...

I couldn’t live a year on 1 BTC. I think it would actually take closer to 200 BTC at current prices for me to feel secure and comfortable for the rest of my life. When you’re young, a million dollars seems like a lot of money. When you get older you realize it wouldn’t even get you the house you’d like, let alone pay bills or taxes forever. With 5 million I’d feel like I could live comfortably forever. With 10 million I feel like I’d be able to live luxuriously forever. I haven’t hit 200 BTC yet, so buy some of my goods from the NastyShop. Lol
8765  Other / Off-topic / Re: How do you handle stress? on: March 05, 2021, 09:41:25 PM
I look back at my life accomplishments and where I am now. When I think of what I’ve been through, most things that cause stress are really minor in comparison. Being grateful and proud in my opinion are natural stress reducers that anyone can take advantage of by just being a good person and helping others.
8766  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Dead assholes on: March 05, 2021, 09:33:03 PM
What's your opinions on mourning assholes who die?

You need neither mourn nor remember them. Just be glad the world is a slightly better place once they’ve passed and let their buddies pay respects. Even if the guy was a drug addict who overdosed after stealing BTC and going wild with it ordering darknet drugs. Some people might still feel pain at the loss of their Internet buddy and start RIP threads or pay respects on their profile. In the case I mention here, lots did.
8767  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why bitcoin mixers are only for criminals on: March 05, 2021, 09:23:32 PM
Coin mixers being able to operate publicly is a sign that the Bitcoin economy has a way to go to see legitimacy. Of course coin mixers assist scammers as their purpose is literally to launder money. I’m sure at some point these operations will be shut down, have their funds confiscated, and likely their owners jailed. You would have to be borderline insane to try and operate one without being anonymous and even more insane to lend them BTC to try and earn a return.
8768  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Congrats to the Diamond Hands Bitcoin Holders! on: March 05, 2021, 09:07:16 PM
Don't know how many of them access to their address in those few thousands person. I can read articles related to people forget or lost their private keys because they never thought that Bitcoin will raise to millions someday which they bought for few dollars or even for free.

Even if they can access their bitcoin wallet address, they will not say to other people because the bitcoin price is too high. And if they tell how many bitcoins they have, that can invite the bad people to steal his bitcoin. With the price now, people who have bitcoin for a long time can celebrate their victory by holding it for more than 1 years. They can now sell some part, but they can also hold for more years, especially if they have a target price to sell. But for the trader, I think they will still try to trade to earn more bitcoin because they want to become new whales with so many bitcoin in their wallet.
Bitcoins cannot be stolen unless the owner make a mistake like exposing the private keys to the intruders, well they are already holding it for years and surely they know the benefits of holding more than anyone so they will choose what the right thing is to do and in my opinion most of them will continue to hold or wait for the dump to buy again cheaper.

The folks who have held this long have done so because they didn’t try to sell and buy back cheaper. If they had, they would have never been able to buy back in. Many a “what if” stories start with the premise of getting into Bitcoin early only to sell at a big gain hoping to buy back cheaper and get rich, which never occurred. In fact, it’s that attempting to trade for riches that kept them from reaching their goal...

I saw a meme today that made me laugh. It said to honor James Harden the Rockets decided to lose 13 games in a row (his #). I enjoyed that. Poor Rockets are only proving Harden’s point that they weren’t good enough for him to win with.
8770  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Vanity address scam rising on: March 04, 2021, 11:28:09 PM
I've generated thousands of long vanity addresses by myself for my Minted Seats project so it is definitely doable without too much effort.  I think the longest one I ever got was something like 1NastyFansX so finding 1ELoNMUSK would be fairly simple and not extremely time consuming for even a single computer with a decent GPU.  You would think that getting people to blindly send funds to an address would be the hard part, but it appears people are so desperate to use their crypto for SOMETHING that they'll do just about anything with it in some cases.
8771  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: March 04, 2021, 11:23:51 PM
Joel Embiid was literally awesome that he got 40 PTS and 19 REB. It was very significant on their win.

It is nice to see what he can do when he's healthy and in decent shape.  I think he's still not fully in professional athlete shape like he could be, but he's definitely well down the road to becoming that.  He's still a pretty young guy but when you watch him he moves like he's 10 years older.  If he ever matches his dedication off the court to his effort on the court, he will be a bad man.  I just hope it happens before he's too old to carry his team to a title.
8772  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Does having 0.001 BTC it's worthless? on: March 04, 2021, 11:18:45 PM
It's important to understand how building a transition works, why coin management is essential in your wallet, and what you can do to reduce future fees.  Using payout thresholds and merging coins with transactions during periods of low network activity are a couple good ways to keep yourself from having worthless coins in your wallet.  The best thing you can do though is educate yourself so you don't have any surprises in the future with transaction fees and you might even find yourself modifying your transaction behavior once you have a full understanding of how Bitcoin fees and transactions work.
8773  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTS] My Casascius Collection on: March 04, 2021, 10:19:33 PM
OgNasty:

My advise, which I admit is not worth much, is for you to consider a large auction house that is accustomed to selling major high priced items. Christie's, Sotheby's, etc. This is a world class collection, very historical and relevant right now. I think if you engage a broader market with people that know how to market to the highest net-wealth class, you might be surprised.

This would certainly be an avenue I would pursue if peeling didn't exist as an option.  Being totally honest, the USD value of these coins has surpassed any expectation I ever had for them.  If/when I decide it is time to cash them out, peeling is a legitimate option due to it's simplicity.  Selling the collection to someone on the forum for a BTC premium would be my preferred method as I'd like to see this collection live on in tact, but I doubt I would deal with an auction house as that seems like a pain in the ass and the auction house would likely be the main benefactor.

I should start auctioning the brass coins here soon.  I've just been focusing my time on other things lately while hoping someone steps up to purchase the entire collection.

One coin I won't be peeling is the 1000 BTC gold round... Tongue

Special thanks to everyone who blew most/all their Bitcoins... Without us... I don't think any of this would have been possible either!

Just keep on keeping on!  Great song:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6wJXBUfcIOE

Yes, you are 100% correct.  I don't think people realize how fragile Bitcoin was 'way back then' in 2009-2012.  It could have broken at any point.  The entire market cap was a few million dollars and it wasn't uncommon to see people giving away lots of BTC.  The people who stepped up and started accepting BTC for goods and services when they were basically accepting a dream and a prayer for their goods/time are the unsung heroes of crypto.  When I think about all the thousands of BTC I once held...  It would have been nice to sit on them, but you never know what the butterfly effect would have been.  Certainly if everyone sat on their BTC back then, Bitcoin would be worthless today.
8776  Economy / Speculation / Re: Tim Draper: Netflix will be the next one to fall on: March 04, 2021, 12:43:43 AM
Now that Tesla has made over a billion dollars from their cash, I imagine other treasurers for big companies will be taking note.  It takes time for meetings and approvals to do something like put all your cash into BTC, but I am guessing lots of those conversations will be had in the next 3 months.  This summer is beginning to look like a perfect storm is approaching.  I don't know if Netflix will be next or not, but they are certainly a good candidate given they raised a ton of cash and need to generate revenue to offset their massive spending on content creation.

Personally, I'd keep my eye on Apple.  They're looking to go head to head with Tesla in the car space in the next few years and have the cash to spare to eliminate Tesla's Bitcoin investment as a competitor's edge.  I would imagine a 10 billion dollar investment into Bitcoin right before accepting it as payment for iPhones and including it into the iOS wallet infrastructure would have a pretty amazing effect on the price of BTC.  Something like this could very well carry us well into the hundreds of thousands of dollars per Bitcoin and I would argue that Bitcoin's high fees make it a much better payment alternative when buying an iPhone or or electric vehicle than making payment for a monthly content subscription.
8777  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Joe Biden is President of the United States of America on: March 04, 2021, 12:36:55 AM
How would reparations even work?  Do you submit a blood test to see if you're enough of a certain race for the payment, or is there a sliding payment scale based on how much of a certain race you have in your genes?  Maybe it's just if you identify as a certain race then you get the payout?  Where do these funds come from?  If it's the taxpayer that funds it, then can we get a tax deduction if our ancestors immigrated here after the civil war?

Instead, how about we stop bombing other countries and maybe take a fresh approach to not doing horrible things to the people outside of the US.  Could be a step in the right direction.
8778  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: March 04, 2021, 12:32:03 AM
We have some big game tomorrow.

Jazz vs 76ers.

Jazz playing the best season but 76ers is also a tough team.
Per betting odds, Jazz is the favorite, which team do you think will win, and why?

Please share some thoughts.

I honestly can't pick one way or another.  The sixers can completely flop in this game or dominate.  The center battle will be fun to watch between embid on gobert.  I like the jazz in this one as I dont think the sixers will be able to stop donovan mitchell in this one.  Only thing that will save the sixers is if they hit 3s like they did in the last game.
I have doubts too on which team I would bet.
Perhaps, I will just pass on this one and just watch the game.  Grin

How about the Rockets vs Nets?
Harden will be against his former team and it looks exciting too.
The ML for Rockets though is too high that its scary. Kyrie and Harden combined is playing a monster game.
-9.5 for Nets just to gain a satisfying profit.

Honestly I'm taking the over on this one.  Its sitting at 226 and I know Houston doesn't score all that much but its not like the nets are defensive juggernauts.  Also wrapping in a nets money line bet.  I think harden will light it up this game, I mean every player wants to do that to their old team no? Can see nets scoring 130+ in this one so I think I just need Houston to hit trie digits which I'm hoping they can do in a fast pace game

Probably a good bet.  I think it's safe to say they'd cover the spread as well.  I'm looking for the Nets to demolish the Rockets, but at the same time the Rockets could be looking to put the hurt on Harden for his public disrespect.  It's always fun to watch a player return to his previous team when there's drama, so this might be a game to take some time to watch part of.  Smiley
8779  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Congrats to the Diamond Hands Bitcoin Holders! on: March 04, 2021, 12:29:06 AM
There have been lots of discussions lately about Bitcoin minting millionaires with this latest runup.  Articles are popping up claiming there are nearly a hundred thousand Bitcoin addresses holding over 1 million dollars worth of BTC now.  You have people celebrating these "Diamond Hands" Bitcoiners on Reddit and sharing their stories of how they got or what could have been.

I don't know how many Diamond Hands Bitcoiners we have around these parts, but...

Congrats to you if you are one of the 93 thousand addresses holding over 1 million dollars in BTC

Huge congrats if you are one of the 8 thousand addresses holding more than 10 million dollars in BTC!

There's also more than 423 thousand Bitcoin accounts holding more than 100 thousand dollars worth of BTC, so if you are in that club that ain't too shabby either!
8780  Other / Meta / Re: Get Donator status by donating 10 BTC on: March 04, 2021, 12:17:57 AM
You're absolutely right but there are a lot of Bitcoin millionaires (mostly early adpoters) who can still donate 10BTC to the forum but it rare though for them to do the donation. Wait a minute, the donation is even enough to participate and pay a maintenance cost in the build a seastead which was once introduced by Theymos.
I do not think that there are a lot of Bitcoin Millionairs.
I would bet that there are less than 5 if any other than Satoshi (and even his amount of bitcoin are not sure that these expected 1 million belongs to him)
Not counting an exchange as these funds are only in custody to their customers (but sure not your keys, not your coins)

They are talking about millions worth of BTC in USD not millions of bitcoins.  There are quite a bit more than 5 out there.  According to this article there are more than 93 thousand out there holding more than a million dollars worth of BTC.  It wouldn't be surprising if many of these folks were members here at one point and maybe there's even a few lurking around or participating here and there.
