8782  Economy / Services / FREE BTC @ CoinFaucets! Automatic Timer/Rotator! on: June 13, 2013, 12:10:41 PM
Hey all! This site has been tested on Chrome, IE and FireFox by a multitude of people and should have no problems. With that said, I am an active dev and if anything is brought to my attention I'll jump on it ASAP!

The site is CURRENTLY OFFLINE. Please refer to this post: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=233422.msg2965545#msg2965545

What the site does is have you input your BTC address in the top right. After this, hit Next to go to the first faucet. When you're done with it, hit it again to continue. It will keep cycling through the faucets until all are on cooldown, after which it will show a listing of all faucets and how long they have left. As soon as one is off cooldown and you hit Next, you will be taken to it!

This means no more having to keep up with timers yourself, or even remember faucets.

Also, the BTC address in the top right is NOT necessary, however it will save the address for you so that on future visits you can just copy/paste the same address without having to put it in an external document or anything. Also, a few of the faucets will auto-input your address if it's stored on our site, Smiley.

I'm available pretty much all the time as well, so please let me know if there are questions, concerns or suggestions.

Thanks guys!

I don't know about the article, although it's collated, but the books are his own

Edit: as far as I'm aware all his original articles have been vetted as his own (by Ethan Harris) except for "When Prophecy Goes Rogue" which he has yet to link to. Unthinkingbit has now asked him to do this, I had already done so.

As a general point one should not have a problem with writings just because they are long and wait until payout cutoff day to highlight issues. The problem lies, if there is one, with the payment share methodology not the length of articles. A wiki dedicated to promoting writing is be definition likely to attract writers.

Please actually read the post. The things mentioned are definitely not his own, unless he goes by multiple different names.

1) This is the book he posted: THE LIFE OF GOD IN THE SOUL OF MAN by Henry Scougal

Not sure if Ethan Harris is the same as Henry Scougal but I assumed not.

2) The other very long article he has has a ton of copy and pasted content from various sites, such as from PJ Millers. Again, I just don't think that Ethan Harris is also PJ Miller.

There are no issues with people using articles to help spawn theirs. The problem comes when you're using a lot of other people's material copy/pasted and you're claiming it's "Original." This is what "Collated" is for. And collated does not mean taking an entire book that isn't even in your name and copy/pasting it.

I believe this thread should be locked and a link to the newer one should be posted as the first and last post for clarity. Should help with getting people situated better, Smiley.
8785  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Vircurex shareholder vote finished | Result: DGC = YES on: June 13, 2013, 07:38:04 AM
Rigged. Clearly someone was trying to smear WDC with downvotes. WDC actually has more upvotes than DGC.

5546 people, I guess. Quite the conspiracy. I'd gather, people didn't want WDC, but were indifferent about DGC, and didn't vote either way.

I expected DGC to make it, but I thought WDC would as well. It is a surprise. But a good surprise. Ching Ching

This is my thought. Usually if I'm not for or against I'll just not vote. Sometimes I'll vote with the popular opinion just because it's fun being a sheep and I figure if it's going to win anyways, might as well help speed it up so we get results faster, :p.

I thought both would make it though. I like both WDC and DGC. WDC has an active community that tries to get the community to be social and stuff, as well as their other projects. DGC is more about the projects (like their market) based on what I can see, but they are still pushing hard.

Regardless of the vote, both coins definitely deserve credit for what they're doing!

but silver does follow gold price in the "great contours" - when gold dips 20% silver will also do a dive. PM markets are very complex.

Are you sure about that? I don't follow the markets but I was under the impression that they were all mutually exclusive: gold, silver, diamond, platinum, etc. Going to have to look into this for personal knowledge now, lol.

BTW, did Fuzzy pm you? I had sent him some information a couple days ago before block 93.3k about someone on Devtome that posted a crapton of stolen writing (including an entire massive book that he copied and pasted because it was free-domain and had no copyright on it). As a result, he has 80 shares that should not be there. Fuzzy had looked at it and agreed that it was definitely suspect.

I don't remember Fuzzy messaging me about that, but there were so many messages I could of lost it. Please message me with the person and article. We have plenty of time to delete the author from the payments list if necessary.

PM sent! Thanks, Smiley.

In the past I've had great success allowing users to moderate themselves. For the most part you have that one bad seed but they usually correct their behavior after a while.

Sadly, this has been proven not to work on these forums over the past few days, which means now I have to actively moderate. It's sad that I end up having to treat some people as children and put them in "time out." You would think they could act like adults.

Regardless, what's done is done. This thread is now being locked and will be re-created with self-moderation allowed. Easy solution to an easy problem but it's really depressing that it has to be taken that far.

For the 99.9% of you, including both those who had negative comments and those who had positive, I think you for being civil. You help represent what a community should be like.

I hope you join me on the other side!

We had an old thread at:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=34586.0

but a troll came on, and the moderators would not remove the posts. So I made this thread, the old thread is locked.

Thanks for the heads-up that threads can be created with self-moderation. I wasn't aware of that. And just so you know, that troll that came around... follow his past posts. All he does is spend all day going from one thread to another filling it with useless garbage, putting down everyone and harassing people with the hopes that they will pay him to go away.

Been reporting that guy for a while now (each time on a different post because he does this so often) and I have a "report accuracy" of 0%. I know for a fact others have been actively reporting him as well. It bothers me that the mods are basically condoning his behavior here, allowing him to run amuck and try to destroy everyone's day and derail any actual conversation for his laughs.

History speaks for itself

We have gold and silver

We have bitcoins and litecoins

I don't follow. Gold and silver are physical items that have value that goes above and beyond what the metals themselves are worth (via jewelry and other items). You can't take a Bitcoin and twist it into a physical item that has other real-life uses. Comparing the two to each other is a little asinine.

As far as I know, silver is treated as an entirely different metal than gold is; it doesn't follow in its footsteps. Its value isn't based on what gold's is. So Litecoin, even if Bitcoin were to be "like" gold, would still not be comparable to silver.

Problems with CSS/Layout in Midori

(image removed)

Very difficult to see the donate address at bottom, for example.

Thanks for the heads-up. Can you please share what your resolution is? I think that may be what the issue stems from.

1280 x 1024

Yep, it's definitely a resolution issue! I'll mess with it a little later today and see if I can't get that problem squared away for you. Thanks for your report, Smiley.

New update! Due to a report from someone regarding NSFW ads being displayed in the frame, alterations have been made. There should no longer be pornographic ads shown. If there are, please notify me (with the site that's advertised if possible).

Thanks!

I'm interested and would like to know more about this project.

Same here! I've heard of binary trading before so this is a pretty cool idea. Would love to hear more about how it will be run, as well as any documents or UI things you've already got drawn up.
8795  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: NEWBIE MARKETPLACE on: June 13, 2013, 03:01:32 AM
The point with the marketplace kind of is that there are no noobs. ==> Less new account scammers.

Can't be so hard just use the forum 4 hours Cheesy

This. Not to mention having all of the stuff in one thread would be pretty pointless since people want to easily see what they're interested in; not have to go through every post looking.
8796  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Question: Why I can't see the transacton of the new address? on: June 13, 2013, 02:39:26 AM
Thank you so much for your kind reply. It's quite clear and I get it now. Smiley
BTW: I wonder is there any way to unlock a wallet?

I copied my wallet to another computer, then generate a new address, and received some coins with the new address, the balance added. But I can't see any change in my original computer and balance. Why? Doesn't the wallet recognise the new address generated by its copy?
Thank you for any help.

The wallet only knows what's in it. If you copied the wallet and it did not have the new address yet, your new address was created on your new wallet. To get it on the other PC you have to re-copy your latest copy of the wallet and move it back there.

Wallet files do not sync with each other -- this is why it's so important to back up often.

Not sure about unlocking them... hopefully someone else can jump in on that one.

Glad I could help with your previous question though!

8798  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Thoughts on Bitcoin pay per video & other sites on: June 13, 2013, 02:27:54 AM
Keep in mind that it's harder to spend bitcoins when you've received them in very small amounts.

It really isn't that bad. You do pay some fees, but if you watch and merge the transactions into one every 50 or so transactions you will minimize that.

Go and ask car questions on car forums and you'll get more sensible answers, but for what it's worth in my experience Gallardos are very reliable, I never had any problems with mine. Older Lambos are a different story though!

The crazy car shown at Geneva is the Veneno and they are only making three, it's not that pretty in person (I was there as a guest of Lambo).

Mind asking what it is you do that allows you to afford supercars and be a guest at shows like that? :p
