881  Economy / Service Discussion / Is Namecoin.com dead? on: October 13, 2013, 07:25:10 PM
I presume it is, as the site has been failing our daily checks for a couple months now.  I see that Vince Torres hasn't posted since July, as well.   Does anyone know the story here?

Let me know.
882  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: CEX.IO on: October 11, 2013, 03:03:00 PM
Will CEX.io provision percentages of GHS, or does it have to be whole numbers?  Can I play with 0.125 GHS, just to poke on it?

I was impatient.  They do provision percentages of GHS, neat!  I'll play with this over the weekend and see how it works.

69, actually. ;-)

I appreciate you guys putting this together, and am happy to lend a hand however I can!

I'd like to reserve a share, if I may!  I've got the coins floating around now, I just need to move them around.  Should I pay via the website?  What would you guys prefer?
Use the website Smiley
In process now!

...

I would like to devote more time to explaining in more detail where we are in the process, how we plan to proceed, and provide more timely updates, but there simply is not enough time. Our silence does not mean we are not doing anything. Quite to the contrary, we are working overtime, and have been for quite some time, to make the best of this situation. I have to cut this update short because the assembly house is awaiting final testing to begin production, but felt it could not wait any longer. A more detailed update will be sent as soon as possible describing the process and how to proceed from here.

Thanks for the info, Steamboat, I look forward to getting our unit!
888  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Pool][Profit-Switch][Optional Auto-Exchange per Coin][Vardiff] ~ Hashcows on: September 30, 2013, 06:12:16 PM
Yesterday was a bad day but I've been here for 2 weeks and the returns have been good over all. I don't have to bother checking whether Cryptsy is actually working anymore. More than anything else I'm impressed with the efforts the operators put in to keep improving it. I'm willing to trust them to make the best choices as to how they manage which coins are on the pool and how to calculate how to switch to them. They have all the data available, unlike the people who post here about how bad one particular round of any given coin was.

Good work Hashcows, keep mooing.

892  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Klondike - 16 chip ASIC Open Source Board - Preliminary on: June 25, 2013, 08:58:52 PM
I think now is not the time for mission creep.

Get the board working as intended. Then revise for additional capabilities. There is nothing wrong with having different versions of the board IMO.

I'm waiting for a little more news on the development front, and I'll put in another order for a few more units.

I've made my initial investment to stay ahead of the curve.  I'm waiting to see how it all "actually works" before investing more.  If the K16 runs well (which I believe it will) and the chips ship close to the stated times, I'll place additional orders.
895  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Come give me your LTC product/services link on: June 07, 2013, 06:27:33 PM
Yes it's new--I'm tired of Litecoin directories popping up with little to no data. I'm going to schedule scan to verify each site is working and to list changes via, you know, magic.

I'll be adding content as soon as it comes to my attention, feel free to PM me or add it yourself. No premium listing or anything ridiculous. I have added a CoinURL advert to see how well that system works.

Yell if you have any questions, or if you would like to add something.

896  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Block Erupter USB] - SOLD OUT - eta Wednesday - check bitmit.net [USA] on: June 05, 2013, 11:58:22 AM
Well guys, I hope I'm interpreting your feedback right. I just put in third hardware request with friedcat that will hopefully arrive towards the end of the week (reminder: expecting second order either tomorrow or Thursday).

I've got all my cards on the table and am heavily invested in the hopes that you all will continue to support me in developing an ASIC sales business that does NOT rely on preorders! I'll keep stocking inventory and giving you the best service you've ever seen as long as there's demand!!

Thanks for your business thus far - you are all great Smiley

If you can figure out a way to offer credit card, your business would probably double (just from me Wink. Maybe from Square (squareup.com)? I can only buy stuff as fast as I earn it. I wasted all my reserves on butterflylabs year-long pre-orders.

I realize there is always a risk of charge-backs, but I would like to +1 this comment.  I would be happy to slap down a credit card for these, and would even take time to verify my ID if need be.  I spent all my bitcoins on Avalon chips, but would love to but an erupter to have blinking around the house.
897  Economy / Service Discussion / Which website monitoring services do you use? on: June 01, 2013, 09:57:16 PM
Hey all,

I've been keeping up with sites on list that is growing increasingly larger.  Do any of you use site-monitoring services to notify you of changes in site you follow?  Google returns a ma-jillion entries, so I was hoping to get some feedback from this forum.

I'm looking for something that will email me, perhaps in daily digest format, of sites that have changed--it doesn't have to show me the actual delta, I just want to know if there has been a change.

Cheers.
898  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Ann]Purchase ASIC chips and assembly now:1,433 chips left. on: May 28, 2013, 09:33:25 PM
As a personal note:
I as a member of bitcointalk.org and the Bitcoin community was a miner first. I understand staying up until 4 in the morning tweaking a miner to get the most efficient setup possible. I have spent many red-eyed nights pouring over spreadsheets and studying product offerings to make sure I chose the most effective solution. I know the feeling when you take the first big step and make the investment, hoping there wasn't a missed variable. I have experienced the elation when all those concerns melt away as the miners are brought online and the hashrate begins to climb. My mission is to help the community get the most cost effective, stable, reliable mining solution possible, as quickly as possible. I have approached each part of this project as if I were building my own mining rigs, because I am. I have been reluctant to release information not because I want to make it more difficult to calculate ROI or budget your coins, but because I do not ever want to be forced to tell you the price is higher than you had planned, or the timeline has increased, or the power usage was incorrect. Each phase of this project has been checked and rechecked, verified and tested, with backup plans implemented, to do everything in my power to make sure I never have to do that. I am not out to make a quick buck. I am not here to be yet another chip gateway. My goal is to add as much value and service to your purchase as I can, doing something I love, and hopefully produce something you can be proud to own. This approach takes time, and there are no shortcuts. This poses a problem as time is of the essence I know, but it takes twice as long to do it wrong. I ask that you bear with me and the information delays, and I thank everyone for their assistance in this thread.

Thanks for taking the time to write this.  I assume your effort and experience is greatly appreciated by others than myself, but let be take a moment to express my thanks.

It takes a tremendous amount of effort to run a project of this scope smoothly, and it's heartening to see people making the effort for the community first.  If we want Bitcoins to grow into the financial medium we all believe it should be, we need more people like steamboat lending a hand.
899  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Ann]Purchase ASIC chips and assembly now: 2,692 chips left. on: May 26, 2013, 08:27:59 PM

I wonder what the expected speed of a 16 chips would be.
I am guessing you can chain up as many as you want, is that right?

FFMG

I'm assuming it will be around 282 * 16 = 4.512 Mh/sec

Gh/sec, I believe you mean.
