Block chain explorer should now work properly on my micropool

I have set up a smaller North America p2pool server for miners.  Would ask that only folks with 2 mh/s or less attach:

http://107.20.222.119:9500/static/

Larger miners should attach to my other pool.  This one is on a lower capacity server so major mining may blow it up

allright will try it after! Been on the FR one for 45 minutes didnt start to pay yet... Do you know how the p2p pool calculate when to start paying? # blocks or # shares or time frame or?

It pays every time a DGC block is solved but only if you have solved at least one smaller block that belongs to the pool.  You can see your expected payout on the bottom.  This pool will be slow to solve blocks so it should be clear how much you'll get

Luck of the Irish!  I pointed about 1.5 mh/s to get it started and found a block in about 10 seconds

Sold 300 to Toboto for 5.4 LTC good smooth transaction

*note these were free coins I made on that silly grenade site so didn't mind unloading them for a bit below market

baritus - transacting with toboboto right now will let you know if that falls through

Also, scrypt cannot be mined with ASICS designed for bitcoin and forks so I fail to see the relevance
891  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: So what happened with all the "belief" in WDC? on: May 22, 2013, 11:04:54 PM
Scrypt still uses SHA256

Quoting another user fpgaminer :

"scrypt does not use SHA-256 as its core mixing function.  It uses salsa20 for that.  scrypt uses HMAC-SHA-256 once at the beginning and once at the end of the algorithm, but salsa20 is the meat 'n' potatoes"

You may have better luck using the exchange : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=211243.0

WTS 300 DGC at 1.8 LTC / 100 for a total of 5.4 LTC.  Ask that buyer send first.  I have a reputation thread and am also on the safe list.  Thanks.
894  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: So what happened with all the "belief" in WDC? on: May 22, 2013, 10:48:49 PM
Yes, YAC had some changes as well, I guess that is worth mentioning.

Let me kill WDC a bit more.  Cheesy

Bitcoin and all cryptocoins that originated from it but kept hash function (NMC, DVC, PPC, IXC, TRC, FRC) are using SHA-256 hash function which belongs to SHA-2 familly and all
those cryptocoins can be mined with currently available ASIC chips. SHA-3 used in YAC is different familly, it can't be mined with the same ASIC chips used to mine SHA-256 coins.

You lost me.  What does this have to do with WDC, a scrypt coin ?
895  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: So what happened with all the "belief" in WDC? on: May 22, 2013, 10:47:40 PM
Don't put too much faith in a market quotation.  WDC may trade at .0005 today, .002 tomorrow, etc...  Doesn't mean the coin is dead.

The way p2pool works is that miners submit solutions to a less difficult block chain, 10 second targets, maintained by the pool.  20% or so orphan rates are not uncommon since many miners are submitting solutions simultaneously.  Some "crowding out" of small miners may still occur but is much less common than if you were solo mining.

When the pool solution is a solution to the main digitalcoin network, miners are paid out proportionally based on the number of blocks they found in the less difficult chain over the past few hours.  Hence, payouts are essentially PPLNS based on the last few hours and how many lesser difficulty blocks your miner solved.

If you got the "graphs" area on the pool and search for your user, you can see how many solutions you submitted that were accepted

If you have set your difficulty lower than the pool using the + option after your username, the pool will accept your shares but that does not necessarily mean you found a solution.

That seems to be bothering some users.  If that is the case, you can always omit the + option and let the network give you shares at the full difficulty.  The issue then will be that you may not get a valid solution submitted fast enough to beat out other miners.  The + option gives you more of a fighting chance but, again, won't guarantee you have found a solution.

So, long story short, it is not at all unusual to see payments for hours based on a solution you submitted awhile ago and then have payments stop until you find another one.

Even though difficulty on the pool block chain is lower, there is still going to be variance

Shorter times than 12 hours would be good the problem with times that long is everyone leaves and loses interest.  If it were say 15 minutes there would be more continuous play
898  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Beware of Bitgrenade. The Owner of this site is a Theif on: May 22, 2013, 09:36:15 PM
OK cool that's good then just making sure
899  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Beware of Bitgrenade. The Owner of this site is a Theif on: May 22, 2013, 09:35:00 PM
It would help the site if late payments were refunded.  The site clearly indicates they will be kept but it would be better business practice to refund them.

Avoids all the scam accusations, etc...

Would be good if it also refunded accidental overpayments. I hit the send button twice on one small grenade purchase

Note that rejects on local shares that you submit to a p2pool are not usually a big deal - everyone gets about 20% rejects (give or take) on average but the reward is split proportionally so it won't hurt you much in the payout.

If you're getting 30%+ rejects that is likely a miner configuration issue
