881  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Crypti | XCR | Ͼ | PoS algorithm | Ed25519 | 2nd Gen Source on: April 03, 2015, 04:52:15 PM
The .5% fee still bothers me guys. I know the Crypti Team put a lot of thought into everything they do.
I wouldn't want you to change it just because 4 posts in a row say its too high.
Unless there is a really higher level thought process going into the .5% that you don't want to reveal I don't see it working.

Because Crypti is young and has little activity you want to reward delegates with a .5% fee.
Anybody running as a delegate now has to be doing it to support their investment in Crypti.
Its later on when we have high value and activity that a delegate will run for income.
So a high .5% fee now is unnecessary and will only turn off anyone looking into Crypti for the first time.

I was looking at blockchain.info. Look at all those transactions coming every second.
I know you guys said if we ever get to bitcoin level of activity the fee will reduce.
But bitcoin doesn't charge a %. Its a miner fee of .0001.
That means if you send one bitcoin it cost you .01% compared to Crypti's .5%.
If you send 10 bitcoins that same .0001 fee is only .001%.

Nxt from the beginning had 1 Nxt fee and even that was debated as being too high for a long time.
If you really like the flat % thing and have a reason for it then I feel it must be something significantly lower.
It has to be lower than .1%. To me .05% is still high but reasonable and won't turn off newcomers (.01% is better).
And when Crypti has a rise in value and usage, it should be lowered further.

Sending 100,000 Nxt costs 1 Nxt. At 100M supply Crypti's equivalent is sending 10,000 Xcr at .5% costs 50 xcr. Its only 5 xcr at .05%.
We should start at .05% and lower it to .01% when we're at 30-50M market cap.
But at the very very least if you dislike .05% then .1%. I mean .5% just sounds so high.

A 0.5% fee is not too high in my opinion, especially for a coin at this stage. There has to be incentive to run nodes and there has to be incentive to not spam the network. They said it will be adjusted as the value of XCR increases, I don't see any reason why it needs to be done before then. Already significantly better than Paypal which has a 2.9% fee, for example. And it is too early to compare XCR to BTC or even NXT, they are completely different coins at completely different stages of existence.
882  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Crypti | XCR | Ͼ | PoS algorithm | Ed25519 | 2nd Gen Source on: April 03, 2015, 06:29:36 AM
When logging in the client, I see the Add second passphrase option next to the account number. Why and when do I need the second passphrase? Do I need a very long word for the second passphrase as well?

Hey Tobo,

The idea is redundant security. The first pass-phrase acts as your account password while the second pass-phrase, if activated, is required to do any form of transaction from that account. This way, if someone were to somehow guess, brute-force, or reverse engineer your account password, they would still have to figure out an entirely separate password to do anything with your funds. It's just an added level of security to ensure that your coins stay safely where they should be!

I really like it, my coins feel extremely secure and yet I can access them from literally anywhere that has internet using the crypti web wallet and all I have to do is remember two long and unique phrases.
883  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [VIA] ★ Viacoin ★ ~ the future of digital currency ~ ★ on: March 28, 2015, 01:52:34 AM
When this coin had its "burn" for clearinghouse which was really just a second IPO (lol one wasn't enough) for btcdrak since instead of the Via actually being destroyed (as they are supposed to be in a burn) they went into his pocket so that he could sell them for BTC for his own gain, it became pretty freaking obvious to me what was going on here. And it should be no surprise the price has plummeted since then... What, did people actually think he was just going to hold onto all the Via that was "burned" into his pocket?

It's funny, too, because I could have sworn I brought up this issue when the clearinghouse burn was starting and everybody stepped up to defend btcdrak claiming that he needed the additional funding to continue long-term development on the coin...

Wait...  Pardon me for my ignorance as I have started taking interest in VIA after the burn process to acquire XCH.

That said, can you post a link where it said that VIA holders should burn (actually send) their coins to a VIA address set up by Drak?

Read through the clearinghouse thread. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=734674.0

"This initialization process is called "burning", but since viacoins are new and shiny, we decided not to actually burn them, but use them towards funding the ClearingHouse project looking forward."

"Q: What happens to the viacoins that I do convert to XCH?
A: They go to fund future development of ClearingHouse."

It is clearly stated by btcdrak in that thread that these funds are to be used for development, so I hope these aren't the funds btcdrak is currently having such a difficult time answering questions about...

Forged my first block today, got the 100 XCR back that I used on the second passphrase  Grin
I really like how easy it is to forge, looking forward to being able to setup a node on my android.

Yay! Very happy to see bter came through and withdrawals are enabled. Thank you crypti team for working with them to make it happen. I've got all my XCR off of exchanges now, and I recommend everybody else do the same unless you are currently actively trading.
887  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Syscoin - Business on the Blockchain on: March 07, 2015, 05:48:19 AM
Well, at least he has demonstrated his level of maturity so that nobody will ever listen to a word he says.

Anyone know when bter withdraw for xcr start?
 Sad

Could be weeks.......... I am thinking that Bter's "Rebuilding the Backend" includes firing anyone that had access to the cold wallet and was then able to steal the BTC.. and then hiring all new people.

personally, I consider the XCR and BTC on Bter as lost.  I am now buying on Polo.

I was able to get my NXT assets off of Bter, but can't even see my Crypti balance. It's odd though because I have nothing else on the exchange now and yet the listed total BTC value of my account is still positive. Perhaps reflecting my hidden XCR balance, except it's lower than it should be if it is representative of how much XCR I had on there before the hack...

Anybody know approx. how much of the coin supply was on Bter?
889  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Syscoin - Business on the Blockchain on: February 21, 2015, 06:37:01 PM
I might as well provide an update here then since the all mighty crypto expert kamron called me dead weight on the team.
I recently found out i have cancer.
This is something im dealing with
i know my participation on the team has been lapse since
i have said multiple times in slack / IRC if anyone wants to take over my role feel free to contact me without explaining my situation because, in all honesty my situation has fuck all to do with you.
since Kamron called me out and now you all know my situation ive left the syscoin team
*slow claps for Super Kamron*
There were a couple of games i was working on in Unity 3D if anyone has experience and wants to finish them to help syscoin, let me know you can have the source codes.
now need a web dev too since i dont have time to do it.
Syscoin can go far, and needs someone who can put in the time i cannot anymore.

I will say one thing tho.

Kamron said while im sat in the waiting rooms at hospital i should be posting an update in IRC.
I dont sit there thinking hmm i should update everyone.
I sit there thinking "fuck this is scary, i got 3 kids, a wife, a mortgage and a fuck ton of debt"
Fuck me right?

anyway, was fun for a while
Damn, I'm really sorry to hear that. I wish the best for you and your family.

And fuck this kamronk scum-of-the-earth piece-of-shit. You are absolutely right- it is people like him/her that hold crypto back and give it a bad image.

891  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Syscoin - Business on the Blockchain on: October 16, 2014, 04:32:46 AM
I hope Moolah pays for this... literally...

or figuratively, if they don't pay up literally.
892  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Syscoin - Business on the Blockchain on: October 15, 2014, 02:10:45 PM
I've been very supportive of Moolah in this thread, but if they (he) mess this up I won't have words to express how pissed I am. Escrow means funds are kept safe and untouched until release criteria are met, so there really shouldn't be a problem right....?

Wow, big screw up by Moolah.

Does anyone know how much of the syscoin ipo funds Moolah was sitting on?

edit: 1500 BTC was the total IPO, but a part has been received right?

Part has been received yes, but an outstanding amount is still to come. Full details are here, http://syscoin.org/download-syscoin-v0-1-5-rc3public-beta-3-and-moolah-presale-funding-update/

"MOOLAH PRESALE FUNDING UPDATE

There have been a number of questions swirling about regarding Moolah, our escrow provider, who recently made this announcement. They still hold a majority (67%) of the 1500btc raised during the Syscoin presale. In light of recent information we are working with our escrow provider for a full release of the funds so that we can continue Syscoin development as planned.

We are working as fast as possible to find a resolution to this situation which impacts both the team and investors. Regardless of the situation with Moolah the Syscoin team remains committed to developing and advancing the features and growth of Syscoin. Read some posts on our blog or look at the features present in RC3 or the roadmap. We’re here for the long term and we appreciate the support the community has shown us."

They shouldn't have been able to touch the escrowed funds, they weren't for them to use they were just for them to hold. They should all be there, and if they aren't then I think legal recourse would be more than appropriate.

Hi guys,

as there are so much problems with Mintpal i would really like you to test alcurEX. It is a totally new exchange with the intention to only add established coins. It has a USD market and a microCoin market as alternative for coins with lower value. New coins are always listed in a seperate catalogue to clearly diversify between established and new coins.

Syscoin is not listed, yet. But i'm in contact with the operator and can make him proposals for new coins to be added.

https://alcurex.org/
https://alcurex.org/index.php/crypto/index

With kind regards,
randywald

I think Syscoin needs to distance itself from Mintpal/Moolah as much as possible. Mintpal/Moolah is a shit-show, they appear to be incredibly incompetent and that incompetence is beginning to really screw over and piss off traders. One example of many: http://www.reddit.com/r/dogecoin/comments/2is99c/for_public_recordmy_legal_notice_letter_to/
894  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Vidio - Video Sharing | Decentralized Monetization Protocol | ICO Bittrex on: October 08, 2014, 03:09:33 AM
Is there anything other than screen-shots to corroborate the claims made here? Also, the 4 star POD isn't very convincing at all... You must have had a previous account on here before making this one for this coin, who are you?
895  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ARCHcoin [ARCH] – The Profit Network on: October 03, 2014, 04:53:42 PM
Not a peep, yet BTCarchitect has plenty of time for twitter....

Maybe because this place is full of complete shit heads who need to fuck off back to their little holes.

Let the nuts on BCTalk freak out, no loss to people who realize there is more to the world.
896  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ARCHcoin [ARCH] – The Profit Network on: October 03, 2014, 04:52:49 PM
Where is the update regarding the late coins? Unfortunately nothing from the devs. I guess I will accept this is just another sys.. have ample time to set everything up but can't get it done. That's a warning flag that the devs don't have the skills.

Get us the coins before all confidence is lost.

Thank you

No confidence has been lost.  It seems your becoming anxious or impatient.  This cannot be compared to sys.

You do realize he has to go through ALL the holders to verify the payment and coins?  There are over 600 ICO holders that need to be double checked let alone quite some refunds that need to be processed.

THE OP has all the info in it.... 24-60 hours was stated and were barely coming up on 48 hrs in a few hours.

This is a very poor attempt at FUD

Okay so we are over 6 hours late. I just don't understand why people create unrealistic expectations. Shows poor planning before the coins is even launched... damn we got arch'd

Your posts always amaze me.  Do you know how to read?  Do you follow updates?  Clearly you don't.

Coins are coming possibly early next week.

Learn to read

Wallets are not ready due to the pos variable interest curve change and its unforeseen implications. Our main dev did a hell of a job coding this unique wallet and is working non stop to adjust the pos correctly so all I can ask of everyone is...patience. Your coins are safe and we couldnt have a better dev working on it.

Yes I can read very well. I said they created unrealistic expectations by making a deadline they couldn't meet. The dev is having problems. Yup everything thing I said is true. We got arch'd. Sorry you want to hold onto your scam ICO dream. When this shit happens its over. I wish it didn't but clearly dev team sucks.

The only thing clear, is that you have no clue what is involved in software development. Even the largest corporations miss target delivery dates. I can name at least 10 instances where Microsoft and Apple have missed deliveries or delivered something so full of bugs they rushed and scrambled to patch things. Nothing new about that at all. So....take a chill and STFU

Windows 8. Lol.

Seems like the Cartel is behind the delay.

lol

Dude, do you do anything other than bash mintpal these days?

Just to make clear, i dont accuse the dev of anything.
The idea is great and value should had gained much more if handled correct.

In any case, this price drop cant be described to just bad pr.
There has been no bad news and dev has delivered as promised.
My simple hunch .... this coin is deliberately beeing destroyed.
I watched the order book and they dont stop pushing the price down.
Once they killed it we will see a clone launch but better prepared.

cough cough... IE.. cough..

The dude has made it clear that he doesn't like craigscoin and that it is a "bad investment", and he is the type of guy who likes to "prove" his points by any means possible and has done so in the past (he would repeatedly buy and sell mintcoin at a lower price than he bought it at, just to drive down the price of "competition").
899  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ARCHcoin [ARCH] – The Profit Network on: October 02, 2014, 11:04:40 PM
Truth will come out.

What? You are going to come out of the closet?

Is that supposed to be an insult?

No, it was a joke-question based on his name.
900  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ARCHcoin [ARCH] – The Profit Network on: October 02, 2014, 11:02:46 PM
In the terms and condition it says "To purchase archcoins you must generate a unique archcoin address and keep the private key safe. You will need this key in order to spend your archcoins." how do I find out my private key?

In your wallet you have the option to export your private keys.

File => export

Or you can just keep them safe in your current wallet and the coins will be sent to it.
