In women International Pakistan women and New Zealand,  New Zealand women won the toss and elected batting. New Zealand women batsman makes 5 run in 1 over and Pakistan women no any wicket against new Zealand batsman. Pakistan women bowler out the new Zealand women batsman in the fivth ball of the 8 over. This is the first achievement for Pakistan women team. New Zealand women batsman makes 23 runs in 10 over and 1 out. New Zealand women batsman could not worked hard and struggle. New Zealand batsman makes 252 run in 50 over and 8 outs. This is the target for Pakistan women batsman. This is the good target. Pakistani women batsmen scored 251 runs in 50 overs.  They have put the game in a super over.Pakistan women batsman complete this target and won the match.New Zealand batsmen and bowlers would have won the match if they worked hard and tried.

Turned out to be a very exciting match, with Pakistan winning in the super-over. This was an away tour for Pakistan and there are lot of positives for them to take away from it. Although the ODI series was won by New Zealand 2-1, the victory in the last match should act as some sort of consolation for the Pakistan women. New Zealand is quite strong in women's cricket and they have an established first-class system established for the women players. On the other hand, Pakistan women doesn't even have a proper domestic system.

Not sure how it would be successful or not or pan out as they are hoping but you have to give credit to the BCCI for trying to find new ways to print money. At least In India, they are trying to tap and reach out to any potential market.

Useless bilateral will die soon (Barring a few series), these guys know it and already started gearing up.
✂✂✂✂

Already we have 3 months out of 12 blocked for the IPL. Then we have state level leagues such as the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) and the Karnataka Premier League (KPL). I don't understand the requirement for this second tier league. Ideally BCCI should organize a second division for each of the IPL franchises. For example, TNPL should actually be organized by the CSK instead of the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association. Similarly, Punjab Kings should organize a second division league for regions of Punjab, Haryana, JK and HP. This proposed 10 over league is just a carbon copy of IPL and it will be repetitive.

Soth Africa vs India

So friends today is the 2nd ODI between South Africa and India. We all know that how the Indian team performance in the last match. Arshdeep and Avesh Khan was really good in that match. I was looking that South Africa was not good overall in T20I series or in ODI series. In third T20I they made only 95 runs all team out and in the First ODI they made only 116 runs and all team out.
By the way I think South Africa will make a comeback today. Or maybe can give a surprise to everyone. But Indian team is really strong so we can't say anything at this time so let's see. Smiley

Arshdeep is very inconsistent. He will perform well in one match, and then he will leak runs for the next 4-5 matches. I am not sure why the selectors love him so much. There are a lot of talented pacers in India who deserve chances, but selectors stick with pacers like Arshdeep despite performing poorly on a continuous basis. Anyway, I am expecting South Africa to make a comeback today. They are playing at home, and that too against a second-string Indian team that is missing important players such as Virat, Rohit, Bumrah, Siraj and Hardik.

Uganda vs Kenya

So today is the final and the match is going to be interesting. Because both teams are good and but I think Kenya will win this match. But there is a problem whenever a team won the all the matches of a Cup at the end they lose in final hahaha! Like we have an example of Indian yeam in ICC world cup. By yhe way my best wishes are with Kenya. Smiley

If you look at the recent matches, then Kenya has always lost one to one matches against Uganda in both T20 and ODI formats. Kenya is not the same team that reached the semi-finals of the 2003 World Cup. Once the golden generation players retired, the team simply disintegrated. And at that time Srinivasan-Pawar mafia took control of the ICC and stopped funding the associate nations. Game died down completely and by the time Shashank Manohar tried to rectify the mistakes, it was too late. Anyway, Uganda has made rapid progress during the last few years. So they will be the favorites.

There may be debate about who is better among Naseem Shah and Shaheen Afridi but there is no debate about the fact that Pakistan's bowling needs to be better. Looking at their bowling side, Aamer Jamal is the only bowler who can do some harm to the batsman. Shaheen needs to get his form back, which I believe he will because the form is temporary, and class is permanent. But I agree with you that they need to find different bowlers for different formats for them to perform.

It's not like Naseem is better than Shaheen or the other way around, but Pakistan will be in a stronger position if these two open the bowling. Naseem keeps things tight from the other end, when Shaheen goes over-aggressive and leaks runs. Their weakness is in the 3rd pace bowler. For quite some time, Haris Rauf is performing poorly. Now they have Khurram Shahzad and Aamer Jamal coming up and if either one of them can cement their position in the national team, then it will be great news for the Pakistani selectors.

Trails by another 257 runs, with just 3 wickets remaining now. Saud Shakeel was nabbed by Josh Hazlewood just now, and it was quickly followed by a failed appeal against Agha Salman. Actually it doesn't matter whether they will avoid follow on or not, beacuse Australia is unlikely to enforce it. But Pakistan is well behind in this match and in all probability they are going to lose it by a big margin. When Australia comes out to bat, they are likely to go Bazball mode and will declare the innings after getting to a lead of 450-500.

The final match of Vijay Hazare Trophy will be played today at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot. Haryana will take on Rajasthan and both of them were not among the favorites when this tournament started. Haryana is the surprise package, having defeated very strong teams in group and knockout phases. They are led by Ashok Menaria, with Yuzvendra Chahal and Harshal Patel being the only other experienced players. Rajasthan is relatively more star-studded, with players such as Deepak Hooda, Khaleel Ahmed, Deepak Chahar, Rahul Chahar and Mahipal Lomror in the squad.

Pakistan needs another 62 runs to avoid follow on (Australia is unlikely to enforce follow on even if Pakistan falls short, but that is another topic). When David Warner was batting, it looked as if the pitch at Perth Stadium doesn't have anything to offer to the bowlers. But now Pakistan is struggling to reach their primary target of 288, which is required to avoid follow on. Saud Shakeel and Agha Salman are at the crease and the 7th wicket partnership is already worth some 34 runs. Australia having a clear upper hand in this match as of now.
889  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: December 15, 2023, 05:53:03 PM
Australia batted brilliantly in their first innings. Australia's opener David Warner batted brilliantly. David Warner scored 164 off 211 balls. Australia batted brilliantly from every batsman as every batsman batted brilliantly they were able to give Pakistan a big run lead. Australia gave Pakistan a lead of 487 runs in their first innings. Batting against the target of 487 runs given by Australia, Pakistan's openers started the game cautiously. Pakistan's current score is 132 runs for 2 wickets. Pakistan's next batsmen will need to bat carefully to get close to Australia's 487 runs. But in the first innings, I think Australia has more chances to win.

Warner singlehandedly destroyed the Pakistani pacers. He was so destructive that the bowlers didn't knew what to do (including the experienced Shaheen Shah Afridi) to prevent Australia from building a massive total. The breakthrough finally came when Travis Head and David Warner got out in short intervals, both of them falling to Aamer Jamal. But that wasn't the end of torture for Pakistani bowlers. Mitchell Marsh started smashing them all around the park and they got really close to 500. Anyway, in return Pakistan has got a good start.

Huge news from IPL front, Hardik Pandya to lead the Mumbai Indians next year [1].
The writing was clearly on the wall ever since Mumbai Indians spent big money to acquire him from Gujarat Titans. Rohit hasn't been performing well in the T-20 format for sometime now and his age is another issue.

On the other hand, Hardik could be the next long-term white ball captain which is why this decision makes perfect sense. Just sad that Rohit won't be able to compete with MSD(Most titles) anymore.

Well... last year's IPL was a horror story for Rohit Sharma. He made 332 runs from 16 innings, at an average of 20.75. And it is not just Rohit. His team mates were also out of form. SKY was their top-scorer with 605 runs, but after that second placed Ishan Kishan was far behind with 454 runs. Then they had Cameroon Green at third place with 452 runs, but was traded out for this season. Overall the season didn't went well for Mumbai Indians. They managed to reach the Qualifier, but that was all they got last time.

This is the biggest achievement of Bangladesh team for ACC. Because he has reached the final match. He has reached this point with hard work and struggle and effort. Bangladesh played very well and prevented India from scoring more runs and won the match. ACC U19 Asia cup Bangladesh played very well and reached the finnal match. A team like India who will lose to Bangladesh and Bangladesh won till the final.  And I really hope that Bangladesh will win this year final match.Congratulations to Bangladesh from me too.  And in the future, there is a prayer that they will win and they will win.India also worked hard but they could not work as hard as Bangladesh and they will lose the match and if they had worked harder, Bangladesh would have lost.Bangladesh played very well in India match.  Because they worked hard and struggled.

If the Bangladesh U-19 team manages to win Asian Cricket Council Under-19s Asia Cup, then it will be a big achievement for them. At least it will prove that the next generation of cricketers in Bangladesh are competitive against some of the top teams in the world. But at the same time, they should not underestimate United Arab Emirates U-19. They have already been involved in two big upsets (vs Sri Lanka and Pakistan). And it is good for Associate cricket as well. I am not that fond of UAE (because they don't have natives). But then, the fact that an associate nation reached the final is overall good for the lower tier cricket nations.

In 2nd t20 Zimbabwe won toss and batting first they made 166 for all out in 43th overs Wellington 40 runs and Ryan burl with 38 runs are top scorer from ZIM. What a excellent spell by Joshua little takes 36/6 wickets in 10 overs Ireland chase down the target 170/6 in 40.1 overs Campher made 66 runs help his team to won this match Muzarabani takes 23/2 while Brandon 37/2 wickets in 10 overs Ireland won the match by 4 wickets and leads 1-0. Last match will be play on Sunday

The Irish were a bit wobbly towards the end, but they won the match without much effort. The good news is that their crucial players are back in form. Josh Little was in pathetic form for the last 12 months or so, but today he delivered figures of 10-2-36-6. Craig Young is also bowling quite well. Curtis Campher, Harry Tector and Lorcan Tucker have been among the runs in this series, but the form of the openers is still a big worry. Anyway, after this series they don't have any international tours planned for the next 3 months or so.

I am impressed with Khurram Shahzad, yesterday he bowled quite beautifully and he was the only disciplined guy in the Pakistani bowling lineup. Didn't watch his spell today so don't know how he reacted to the 2nd new ball.

Bowling in Australia is not an easy task for the subcontinent bowlers, most of the time bowlers from our part of the world get too excited with the bouncy wickets. Extra bounce and fast paced pitch give them the illusion of being fast (Similar to SENA spinners in India) so they try extra hard and in doing so they leak runs like a club cricketer, some do learn the art if they are given a long rope but for the new guys only time can tell.

I've noticed this with Afridi, if batsmen start attacking him he goes into his shell and looks quite average and it happens in every format. Having said that today he bowled a good spell with the 2nd new ball but he's nowhere close to what he was 2 years back. Naseem is injured so no point talking about him but he could've been effective here because he take care of his line n length. Regarding Haris, i won't say much as i don't consider him a Test bowler.

In Pakistan there is no dearth of talent. But once some talented player lands in the national team, they don't know how to groom him. I will be very disappointed if Khurram Shahzad and Aamer Jamal ends up like Muhammad Hasnain. They change the format of their first-class competition every 2-3 years and as a result of that there is no stability. That maybe one of the reasons. And regarding their weakness in Australian pitches, I am surprised as many of these players are used to Australian conditions (they participate in the Big Bash League).

I can't believe my eyes, as two upsets happened in the two semi finals of the U19 Asia Cup.

UAE defeated Pakistan by 11 runs and in the other match Bangladesh defeated India by 4 wickets. Everyone would have thought that India and Pakistan are favorite to win their semi finals and both the teams may meet in the final of the U19 Asia Cup final, but not to be. Both UAE and Bangladesh surprised us and win their matches.

The big final between the two teams will be played on Sunday in Dubai.

It was huge upset at the Asian Cricket Council Under-19s Asia Cup. In India's case they were not in good form anyway, as they had lost a group phase match against Pakistan earlier. But wins against Afghanistan and Nepal enabled them to qualify for the final. But then, Pakistan (who had defeated India) went down against United Arab Emirates. And the irony is that most of the UAE players are Pakistani citizens. No one would have imagined that UAE and Bangladesh would be the two teams playing the final match.

I am surprised that the second match between Pakistan Women and New Zealand Women was extremely close. Let's not forget the fact that the match is being played in New Zealand and therefore they have the home advantage. Kiwi bowlers did well to restrict Pakistan to 220, with Sophie Devine taking three wickets and Fran Jonas and Molly Penfold taking two each. New Zealand really struggled during the chase and managed to win by just one wicket. And that too thanks to the 13 run partnership for the 10th wicket between Lea Tahuhu and Fran Jonas.
896  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Saudi Professional League 2023/2024 on: December 15, 2023, 01:54:46 PM
It was a good result but the difference with Al-Hilal was still very large. I had doubts about Al-Ahli because with the large squad of European players they have, sometimes they fail to win and the landslide result against Al-Feiha is proof that this team is starting to find its game again. Even though this still wasn't enough, at least they didn't experience a prolonged draw.

I think it is still quite far to put Al-Ahli in title competition with Al-Hilal and at least being able to finish in the top 4 is their best achievement this season. The only team that is able to compete with Al-Hilal is Al-Nassr and even though the difference in points is quite large, at least they are still the closest competitors compared to other teams. Talking about the Al-Hilal vs Al-Wehda match, it is certain that Al-Hilal will win and with a squad of European players now everything will be easier.

Al Ahli for sure is one of then four clubs in the Saudi Professional League under the ownership of Public Investment Fund (PIF). The other three are Al-Hilal, Al-Ittihad and Al-Nassr. But when compared to the other three, Al Ahli is a bit weak in star power. Who is their star player? Roberto Firmino? or Édouard Mendy? Maybe Franck Kessié or Allan Saint-Maximin? Now compare that to Aleksandar Mitrović/Rúben Neves in Al Hilal, Karim Benzema/N'Golo Kanté/Abderrazak Hamdallah in Al-Ittihad and Cristiano Ronaldo/Sadio Mané in Al Nassr. There is no doubt that at least in terms of player strength Al Ahli is the weakest out of the four clubs.

Overall, i agree with your sentiments but when you are distributing $100k among 100-ish players per year then it hardly sounds like a big scam to me.

There are surely lots of matches that exist only on paper but still, figures are not making a good case for any sort of scam here, even if all these players play only 5-10 matches per year, given they are getting paid 100-200 bucks for every match. I am afraid we might need more data on it.

This information was actually posted by someone in Twitter. One of the players got into an argument with others over payment and he went to social media with all the details (similar to what Jai Anant Dehadrai did to Mahua Moitra after the latter dumped him). I agree that $100 per match is not that big. But for medical students, it is easy beer money. And these guys are originally from the sub-continent, and ₹8,330 for a match that exists only on paper is actually significant amount here.

Huge news from IPL front, Hardik Pandya to lead the Mumbai Indians next year [1].

I am not sure how Hardick will fit into Mumbai Indians. They already have one pace-bowling allrounder in the form of Romario Shepherd. And also I need to see in which position he is going to bat, since MI have strong middle order batsmen such as Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma and Dewald Brevis. Also, they have a very pace-heavy bowling attack which includes Behrendorff, Tendulkar, Bumrah and Madhwal. At present the only full-time spinners are Kumar Kartikeya and Piyush Chawla. If one of them gets injured, then they will be dependent on Shams Mulani.

Oh dang, Rain again?

The last match result was Announced as no result because of the heavy rain. Now, this match is almost done but rain is here again. But, Ireland is ahead if we talk about the DRS score. Curtis Campher is one run away from his half-century. Let's see if the plays continue or maybe we are going to see another DLS method result.

Zimbabwe should improve their top order batting. They haven't been good for a while now. They are unpreictable like Bangladesh. LOL. Sometimes I consider them as better team than Bangladesh team. Hahahaha.

As far as DLS is concerned, Ireland is ahead by 27 runs. If the play doesn't resume, then Ireland will win the match and take a 1-0 lead in this series. BTW, great to see Josh Little tacking his first 6-wicket haul, and getting good support from Craig Young. His IPL franchise is going to be really happy. Andy McBrine also made a decent return to the national squad, with a spell of 10-1-34-1. Curtis Campher seems to have suffered some sort of injury, and this will be a concern for the Irish selectors. Also, the openers (Andy Balbirnie and Paul Stirling) failed yet again today.

I'd have trusted these folks more if they had used the word "Discipline" with the Pakistani bowling lineup but that wasn't the case at all.

Jamal did wrap the tail and 6 wicket haul in his debut series is commendable but tbh he was all over the place and offered plenty of freebies in every over, his wicket ball for Alex Carey was peach tho and could've rattled any batter in the world.

Both Aamer Jamal and Khurram Shahzad were a bit wayward at times, and given the fact that they were playing their debut test perhaps the nerves got the better of them. Despite that Jamal got a spectacular 6-wicket haul and without that Australia would have got to a 600+ total. But then what about Shaheen Shah Afridi? He is the most experienced bowler in Pakistan squad and he returned figures of 27-7-96-1. He was neither economical, nor successful. I guess in order to take wickets, he need Naseem or Haris at the other end.
