882  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Wrong Moves With Your Bitcoin on: January 28, 2024, 11:12:03 AM
Apart from not having Bitcoin from the start I think I don't have to regret on Bitcoin or I haven't made any wrong move yet. the only thing I would have said is my regret is not use my snacks money to purchase Bitcoin after I knew about Bitcoin but I guess at that point investment was not what I was thinking about.

Fun fact; I'm just a very few years older than Bitcoin lol.. maybe I'm lucky to even get exposed at my age.

For you Op, its normal to get bored if your not certain or if your not motivated like the way people gets motivation from this forum. but you only went too far by dropping much of your stash to that altcoin but well we gat to leave past behind.
883  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoin hidden gems. on: January 28, 2024, 10:56:04 AM
Well for me I haven't really found a trust worthy altcoin or as you called it a gem, none has gotten my attention yet but I'm still on a look out if I can find any. as Adbitco said ECLD is good from his perspective but I'm still gonna do my research on it. If it's worth my investment I will make a try and see how it goes.

But for now there is no hidden gem for me.!
Some persons are still complaining that they don't trust altcoins, how do we intend to make profits from the market if we are only investing in Bitcoin only. I'm not trying to tell us that we are not going to make profits from holding Bitcoin but it might be time consuming. We need to be ready to take risks for us to make money from cryptocurrency. We need to split our investment into different projects so that we can make diversified profits.
don't get me wrong buddy! I haven't found a less popular coin or token as OP specified I'm not saying there are no trusted altcoin, because I know Ethereum, BNB, Matic etc that has made significant effect in the market but I(Churchillvv) have not found a token that is not yet popular to invest in because of the risk involve, the risk I'm not taking us because I don't have enough capacity not that im not interested in them but the funds and experiences to handle all the result is what i don't have at this point.
884  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How would you measure your success in Crypto currency on: January 28, 2024, 09:25:34 AM
I don't know what you consider success but I don't see success from any other person's perspective. my success comes when I'm being enough to dream big and it's coming through from where I expect it, I consider success as doing something that no one else has done.

Although all this might boil down to one thing having financial freedom but if this is term how many altcoin I have accumulated I don't see myself as successful because this coins are volatile and can reverse and make you broke in hours.
885  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Seeking Hidden Gems! on: January 28, 2024, 08:57:25 AM
Hi welcome!

Recently the market has developed some good opportunities that one most have grabbed in order to make profit when the bull run starts and that is a good observation that you've got there mate.

It's hard to give a particular coin or token that has good potentials that's worth investing in if you're thinking of buy small tokens but you could choose from the top 10 coins that are trading in the market and follow some investment rules to find the best you can for yourself.
I will only list some rules that you most apply to be a good investor although I'm not an investor but i got little experiences.

[1] You most only invest what you can afford to loss.
[2] You most find project with good volumes or trending coins that has utility and good market cap.
[3] You have to (DYOR) Do your own research on each project that got your attention, this research includes checking there infography, read the white papers etc to be more acquainted with the basic knowledge of the project.
[4] If you have chosen any project do not remove your from it because this are new Altcoins or shitcoins that may or may not grow more than expected since there are not Bitcoin or Ethereum that has great potentials you most not leave them as long term invest as BTC.

This not all anyone can add his or her own tips
886  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC security on: January 28, 2024, 08:43:58 AM
The Trezor PIN is more like security for only the hardware so you will have to use further security method which is the passphrase.

So if you've got a passphrase the next security tips is for you to protect yourself from physical attack and protect your passphrase like your life depends on it because if slightly exposed your whole assets is at a very big risk.

Why this passphrase is so important is that it's required for a transaction to be carried out if your Trezor hardware is stolen or it's compromised the theft will have to need your passphrase to initiate a TX.
887  Other / Meta / Re: [SAD] activity on: January 27, 2024, 09:09:49 PM
I think I will have to spam this post a little by repeating what others have said "Be patient".

If I most say mate your so lucky to have accumulated enough merit that is required to for your next rank and at this point we that are low in merits are supposed to be worried and not you that has made it to the top already. just a joke; is there anything special that is time limited in this forum that your are anticipating that you're in a haste get the senior member rank? lol
I guess it's just for rank up sake so waiting for a few days isn't a big deal brother.
888  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can gambling addiction lead to domestic violence? on: January 27, 2024, 08:52:11 PM
The truth is it's not actually gambling that causes the bad behaviors of people but it's a habit that's inbuilt in them that has not been resolved before venturing into gambling. since this bad behaviors of hitting people are home is rooted in them getting the emotions that loses incurred in them might have provoked the anger in them leading to domestic violence.

What I'm saying in essence is that one's bad behaviors shouldn't be blamed on gambling because same way people who do not gamble creates domestic violence in every home same way gamblers do too the only difference is one gambles and the other does not.

And the only way to cop with this bad behaviors plus gambling addiction is to change ones mind set first before change every other characteristics.
889  Other / Off-topic / Re: [privacy] Apple admits to secretly giving governments push notification data on: January 27, 2024, 05:49:29 PM
Smartvirus just nailed it, every big (successful) business that is based or has its part in the US has a secret alliance with the government whether we like it or not this few autocrats is manipulating almost every part of our lives, privacy is not longer privacy. It's only private to us the individuals but to the government they have access to our activities daily. Now that Apple has this flaws I bet only few will take notes of it because this product has now gotten a monopoly in the industry that competitors aren't match with.

I'm beginning to see reason with this statement "No where is 100% safe" like wtf is really going on. do they want to own humanity? I guess if it was possible they would have done that to remain in control.
890  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: The internet and crypto on: January 27, 2024, 05:31:44 PM
The truth is sometimes we need good explanations or evidence to believe in something, yeah most of us here most have heard of Bitcoin but because we weren't exposed to it much we could be part of it since the origin.
As comparing the internet with Bitcoin (cryptocurrency) including shitcoins it's about enlightenment, the more time passes by the more evidence are shown then it becomes very clear of how important it wouldn't be even the creator of internet wasn't aware of how big his creation would be for decades so the forecast of internet failing was from so biased experiences not experimented. one thing is every one of us got the right to speak some openly abuse this rights by saying whatever the gods put in thee heads.

We are begining to experience most of the predictions of the future so Bitcoin and the internet works together, and in few years (over a decade) people will become so into internet and Bitcoin because they might get it more clear by then mind you there are still billions of people under autocratic leadership so they may not know about Bitcoin till their autocrats introduce it to them including the interior villages.
891  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Pure Bitcoin Price Manipulation on: January 27, 2024, 12:04:14 PM
For sure some few people are in control of what is happening in the Bitcoin market right now. this people might be an organization not just individuals. Even with their manipulation it's certain that most of the people who truly understand the concept of shadow parties will follow the follow and accumulate more than sell. Even if they try all the strategies in the world to keep people in one strata (social level) we will surely resist the evil gradually.
At the end it's good to remind us that instead of sell as they try to manipulate the market we should buy more inorder to be amongst the people who will reap the fruit of Satoshi Nakamoto.
892  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Dollar increase on: January 27, 2024, 11:48:03 AM
When I see talks about Nigeria economy I just get pissed and tired at the same time. like why are they doing this to us? I see people agitating on social medias tell the truth, I see people with good intentions everywhere but what the hell is wrong why is it not working?. I know the answer and most of us knows this answer but we can't help it. if only one person can stand for use the rest of us will back it up and say no to this manner of stupidity in our country.

To summarize everything Nigeria is operating under external forces, countries like France, China, South Korea, United States of America, British government etc are the problem not only Nigeria is facing but Africa as whole. We are not allow to agitate for our rights, if we do we die. check almost all the coup d'etat that happen in Nigeria was sponsored by the US for raising allegations on them. even barrack Obama told Jonathan to his face that they are coming for him if he doesn't leave the sit for the next ruler which is Buhari a that has negotiation with them. OH our great country that fights for other African countries is now borrowing from other countries.

I would have love to go forward with Nigeria and it's cost of inflation but I can finish up everything here. everybody should do what is within there power still going towards achieve a healthy economy and one day it will all be over but don't expect the price to fall back to it's normal yet because they are still in power. N 1500 to N 1600 might be hit soon.

For Bitcoin at least we have it as a currency that is backed by humanity (the masses) the more people run there own nodes the more we have control over our money.

The increase in dollar rate here in Nigeria does not really affect Bitcoin directly but affects Nigerian's who would have bought Bitcoin in higher quantity but because of the rate it will reduce the rate of adoption in some sense but increase it from other perspectives.
893  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Nigeria Economic inflation the reason for bitcoin investment/adoption on: January 27, 2024, 09:53:51 AM
I'm left with a little to say because Charles Tim and Ever Young has short down everywhere with what I would have love to say to you.

Anybody that closes his or her shop complaining about the economy is absolutely dreaming, infact I see the story not to be the core reason for shorting down any business. you dey whyne? you no know say na situation like this wey most business men and women dey find? the higher the goods in the market the higher the rise the price. The only people that gets hurt is the consumer not the retailer abi you no do economics for basic knowledge? you supposed know this one na. just kidding.. lol

See no matter the economy the country businesses can never short down is either for personal reasons that the shops closed.

For people adopting Bitcoin it's more like the way forward that's why you see people talk about investing in Bitcoin because it's going to yield profits in dollars and as the rate is that's more like the only way to keep going by eating in dollars.
894  Other / Meta / Re: Other Forum members are more civil than Legendary members, Why? on: January 27, 2024, 09:38:07 AM
Although we are mates or the same level he (op) would likely not listen to my advise. Clearly he has no prove of insults or bullying but from some comments in his post he most have experienced some kind of aggressive advises that sounds hash but only in his perspective while the reasons for such response is because he reluctantly refused to change his posting styles or area of posting but its all to point him to the right direction but he doesn't see it that way.
It sounds to me that if you don't agree with Funke, have a different opinion, or point out how wrong they are, they will get offended, scream, and call you a bully. If that's the case, then it's their own insecurity that is the cause of the problems they believe exist. Several people have asked to see examples of unwarranted acts of aggression of legendary members against newbies and there still aren't any.
Let's say he (Op) is among the set of people who claims they really wants to learn whereas they are never interested in learning. In their subconscious state of mind they rejected corrections to them they have accepted it but their ego refuses them to let go of their wrongs.
The screaming is just a way of calling attention off what they did so that it's seems obvious that they know what they are saying. deep down they must have learnt from your correction but never accepts it in an open place inorder to get a stupid reputation.

I have created a thread some months ago in the B&H board trying to let newbies know about quoting wrongly in order to claim (knowledge) wise but most of them turn the advise down because maybe I'm a kid or a newbie too and they are mostly graduates in some courses but ignorant in other areas of life.

For people like you pmalek you tried your best to keep people in the right track but if they don't listen it's left for them you have done your part.
895  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Good BTC exchange for AUD (Australian Dollar) to make online purchase from EU/US on: January 27, 2024, 08:53:08 AM
Hi welcome to Bitcointalk!

Well for anonymity if you have to choose or go for privacy Electrum Wallet is the best you can get but it's not an exchange.

For Exchange you can go for a Non KYC exchange as you specifically want anonymity or privacy you can use any of the non kyc exchange.

For websites that requires Bitcoin as payment there  are lots of them out there but it depends on what you want to purchase from those sites.

Edit: Privacy and other aspect of cryptocurrency doesn't go together you have to choose whether to go for privacy or Easy to carry out wallets.

Privacy may not be easy (fast as possible to carry out) but it's secured but easy to carry out wallets may not be secured as privacy oriented wallets
896  Other / Meta / Re: Other Forum members are more civil than Legendary members, Why? on: January 27, 2024, 08:12:07 AM
This and many more are examples of insults and bullying by legendary members to express their point which they feel is better than the points of newbies. I never wanted to remember them , that was why I kept the thread going to see whether others have had the same experience. The thread was actually created for legendary members to also see what others are saying about their behavior then have a change of approach to public discussions. I know I am newbie, I am ready to learn but no through insults and bullying. Thank you for requesting for proof.
So my request that you post some proof or give examples how you are being bullied hurt your feelings? And due to that horrible state you are in, you are not capable of providing anything? My terrible "bullying" of you came after you created this thread, remember? That means that you should have older examples of terrible insults of me and others like me against you. I hope I am not hurting your feelings by stating that.
I have told OP countless of times about his posting styles that are always off topics, that it's not making much sense to be writing things that are meant to be posted in your social media handles that will be seen as likely a mere post than post it here in the forum.

One thing I always advise my fellow newbies is before posting or publishing any content in the forum you most first consider the core purpose of the forum which is Bitcoin discussion and then before you can diversify your content but let it not leave without a true purpose of the forum by doing that you tend to create more interesting contents than off topics.

Funke grow a thicker skin! Focus more on Bitcoin related stuffs and learn. Use this link https://learnmeabitcoin.com/ and learn more about Bitcoin so you can change your posting styles, it's all for your good mate don't take things personal. Life is too short to argue some kind of shit!
897  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoins dead? on: January 27, 2024, 07:43:05 AM
Are Altcoins dead? This question is not easy to answer, because the cryptocurrency market is a very volatile one and there are many ways to capitalize and invest in isolated coins.
Because the fundamentals, trends, and growth of cryptocurrency markets change from day to day. It is important to have a sense of your own goals and risk management capabilities.
The answer is very simple, No. Not all Altcoins are dead. But as of when this thread was created in the year 2022 a lot of shitcoins went missing, according to analysis over 51-56% of coins that where created in 2022 died along the way some got to there ATH and drop over 96% in price and never got back to it's ATH now the has been lot of Altcoins especially memecoins coming to the space again as a new trend, some people are going to take but for someone like me that has witness a different tokens crash to the floor I wouldn't give a dime to an pump and dump project claim unrealistic promises what we call (a too good to be true) promise that will never see it's way to reality.

One advise to people that will pick some interest in this coins is sale them as fast as possible because there are never going to perform well after it's launch (not all though) but you rarely see good one that will last.
898  Economy / Economics / Re: Save while young better than wait on: January 26, 2024, 09:48:33 PM
Although I understand what you mean but your English is weak and seems a little bit hard to comprehend fast.

It's has been the topic of everyday that one should make sure in life that your rich, don't live for today and suffer in future while you plan for today also look into your future.

There is one thing I know too well, that it's not my fault I'm from a poor background but it will be my fault if I remain in that background. At the very young age of men it's meant to be spent wisely knowing too well that in less than no time nature will take it's part in your life and you will be left no chance of changing the past.
Make haste while the sun shine.

dude... a native should have no problem understanding my English, I am just writing slang-ish and ignoring a few  grammar rules because I do not intend to write a book. Warrent Buffet says the best day to invest was yesterday and the second best today, so I guess better to be late than to not be at all. At least, you will have some short of pot rather than zero.
I meant no harm dude... You know not everyone is native, so isn't much understand by those who aren't English natives. You should consider that sometimes speaking from empathetically based on few non English bitcoiners who couldn't understand my writings sometimes ago. I felt they might be doing so now!

Well you're correct! My dad always told me, son be 1hr early than a minute late. Fun fact; in my home we got a big clock that is always an hour fast, so we are always an hour faster than the rest of the people in my neighborhood  Cool if they wake 5am in the morning, we wake same 5am but an hour fast which is 4am so I learnt to do things as early as possible. And I sure im applying that in my investment life.

Don't shut yourself in this box labelled "not my fault." Many people do that and they say that because they had a hard time, there's no point in trying since they're at a disadvantage. The fact that your parents divorced, or you were abused, or you were poor growing up doesn't make it impossible for you to make money. It's just that you're starting much lower than some other people, like Biden's son.
When I was younger I had very little money but I never gave up. There are people much wealthier than me and I'll never rich that level, but I came from a situation where I had to save up for a year to buy myself a new computer or a bicycle to a situation where I save up for a year to buy a car. If I knew what I know now at young age, I'd have much more money, but that's a process of growing up. Most of us are dumb before we hit 30.
Thank goodness I'm still very young (a kid) and I'm learn this at a young age so I guess I will be making a better choice and never put my self in such box.
899  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why it's wrong to save vital information on your phone. on: January 26, 2024, 05:53:22 PM
Well, this is more like the commonest knowledge everyone that is in this forum must have acquired as long as they are active. if you have took you time to read the newbies read before posting thread or any of those pinned threads there is always a link to where you will read the basics of crypto space security wise advises and those two you mentioned about a the very commonest of them all.

Everyone that has a device is always protective of there devices even the commonest password of your phones are very secretive so that knowledge must be applied to your crypto assets. Be security wise all the time that's all I can say to anyone. there is a popular security phrase that says "Not your keys, Not your coin" so security consciousness is paramount.

Even if you write you password in a book its still not safe, no where is really safe but try as much as possible to protect your self.
900  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Two things I (we) noticed in the local board on: January 26, 2024, 05:23:37 PM
1. In the cost of posting or actively participating in the forum (local board), people (especially newbies and beginners) have recently increased the shit posts here, bringing in posts that belong to social media or issues that aren't related to the sole purpose of the forum or local board to discuss here.
I won't go far to read up everything but just few lines i have read given the full details on where you are going to.. But one thing you must know is that here is a community and as a community expect all forms of information and any post that may arise from any angle because we can't keep limiting people not to share any other information from social media, you can share any information from any media platform provided that information is legit and pure no one is limited so for we to say that we should stop that looks so biased if you ask me very well. The important thing should be that all information shared should carry authentication link or author link to prove that such information is being gotten from a particular website without plagiarism
wrong quoting is what I have tried to avoid so much but it seems it still occurs, you should have used at least few minutes to read thoroughly to comprehend my intentions from creating this thread. I supposed you misunderstood what I was trying to pass as an information. I'm not talking about copying posts from social media without providing links buddy! What I meant was that some people just post whatever comes to there minds in the local board and that has chased most of our senior colleagues away from the LB.
Like a recent post by Funke which was moved to off topic was a typical example of what i meant, posting things like the recent prayers of a prominent pastor of salvation ministries during his current program. How does that relate to Bitcoin or the local board most times not everyone here is a Christian why bring such discussion over here.

I suppose if you look into the users posting style or topics you will understand what the thread or the quoted part meant not the way you perceived it.
