881  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: EVER USED VIRWOX on: January 11, 2017, 04:55:21 PM
First tiem tried to used them with their virtual cc. Sent money but money never appeared on their site. Tried to contact support never got any response. It wasn't large amount about 10-20$ but still I would recommend to stay away from them
882  Economy / Digital goods / Re: [WTS] AMD HITMAN 20$ BTC/ea | AMD Civilization 32$ BTC/ea on: January 10, 2017, 04:35:06 PM
You might want to consider lowering your prices. For your Civilization VI key price is 32$, if you look at g2a.com price is 35$ and not to mention that they accept BTC payments too.

I should lower my prices, because they're lower than G2A?

I'm saying that you should lower your prices more because it's safer to buy from store than from 3rd party if price is not much different and I mentioned G2A because they accept btc payments so there is not much difference really
883  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Been out of the loop since 2014, advice needed! on: January 10, 2017, 12:18:48 AM
Monero is a good coin to GPU mine now in 2017 as well, welcome to the future!

You can also try your luck with ETH, ETC, and ZEC coins, as they are all profitable to mine with a GPU.

I would mine with your 7970 for awhile and get back into the swing of things before buying a dedicated rig, this way you can find out what coins will work out best and what pools to try.

Dwarfpool is currently the big name in pools when it come to Monero, so you might want to start mining there. I would recommend Claymore's Cyptonight miner as well for XMR (Moenero) as it is pretty stable and easy to get setup and running. Once you are again familiarized with the basics, you can try different software and pools and by then you should be able to determine if buying a dedicated rig will make sense for you, and more importantly your electrical rate, which is probably going to be the main determining factor in any coin you mine.

Most of your question about which coins to mine can be answered by visiting sites such as: http://whattomine.com/coins and inputting your hash rate.

With a 7970 wouldn't I only be harvesting about 30 coins annually?

Radeon 7970 is old card now. It's not much power efficient with new RX cards here i would just go for RX 470 as it's best overall gpu for mining now. Is it worth building rig now, well depends if you can wait 7-8 months to ROI then yes it is profitable for you. Most altcoins are not affected by ASICs so that does not really matter. There are a lot shit coins now so just stay with what is popular and tested. You can still mine monero but if you want change it up a bit with ETH or Zcash
884  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Best CPU and GPU choices for a mining rig? on: January 10, 2017, 12:14:33 AM
If you want to invest into CPU mining you will basically ROI never. I haven't seen a coin that could be mined with cpu and gave you some reasonable monthly profit because generally good CPUs are expensive and you are much better of forgetting about them in the world of mining and invest into gpu mining. Best gpu overall is RX 470 at this point
885  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Does anyone use the storj.io system? on: January 10, 2017, 12:09:40 AM
I don't see any public calculator for Storej online. It would help a lot to know how much would you make so maybe more people will get into it, but from past experience HDD mining was never profitable and I don't see it profitable in close future until HDD prices don't drop a bit more
886  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-01-06] Death & Bitcoin: How I Prepared My Family’s Digital Inheritance on: January 10, 2017, 12:03:59 AM
Great Topic. This is important for multiple reasons. Not only if you die all your bitcoins are lost forever but leaving someone money in bitcoin for a long time is a smart thing to do. Bitcoin price will almost sure be up
887  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: The Merkle / Bitcoin VPS Service Reviews on: January 09, 2017, 07:52:38 PM
Hey guys thanks for all your feedback it has been helpful. When we say we accept vps review requests we mean we will do an unbiased review on the service. We won't always purchase the vps but we will make sure to vet the company, it's legitimacy, how the price compares to other companies and what other people think of it.

For today we have reviewed VPSBit

http://themerkle.com/bitcoin-vps-service-review-vpsbit/

tl;dr

VPSBit is one of the companies offering VPS services in exchange for Bitcoin – and other – payments.  The company provides multiple locations to choose from, and their services are priced rather competitively. It is rather difficult to come by a decent review of the BitVPS service, which is somewhat worrying. It is possible the company is not overly popular, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they have a bad reputation.

How are this reviews of companies if you don't intend to buy their product ? I mean if you are not going to talk about the product what is the point ? We can see all other information just by looking at their website.
888  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Can i mine with this plan? on: January 08, 2017, 02:23:49 PM
hi i want to know can i start bitcoin mining with this  CPU or not?
if i can please tell me how can i start
here is my CPU details:
intel(R) Core(TM) i7 - 3770 CPU @ 3.40GHZ
Sockets: 1
Cores: 4
Logical processors: 8
Virtualization: Enabled
L1 cache: 236kb
L2 cache 1 MB
L3 8 MB

For bitcoin, technically Yes, but for profit no like other guys said. You can try to mine some altcoin that supports CPU mining, but then again it will not be profitable since GPUs are much more powerful than CPUs for mining
889  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining questions on: January 08, 2017, 02:21:57 PM
Hello, i know this might have been asked before but i couldn't find an answer.

I want to get into mining, where i live electricity is quite cheap (about 0.05$ per kW), i'd just like to ask a few questions before starting to think of a rig assembly plan, im planning to mine eth or zcash, depending on what's better at the time.

1) Does an SSD matter in mining? would a cheap hdd lying around do the trick?

2)If i'm mining with 3-4 GPUs, would a h81 btc motherboard be necessary?

3) I know that the current most efficient GPUs are probably rx 470 and 4x 480, but i'm getting confused messages about which is better and is 8gb cards worth the extra dollars? Also what company is better for mining XFX, powercolor, sapphire, does it actually matter?

and lastly what are risers for?

Thanks for the help.

1) SSD does not help at all, go for cheap hdd
2) H81 would not be necessary for 3-4 gpus as long as you have motherboard that supports them
3) Zcash will die and Nvidia is currently only good at zcash. Go for AMD, best card overall now is RX 470. If you get that you cannot be wrong
890  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: got an i7-7700 and a Z270 board - will let you know, whether it´s good 4 mining on: January 08, 2017, 12:10:35 PM
Hi Folks,

I got an i7-7700 and a Z270 board - will let you know, wether it´s good 4 mining.

I will order some PCI-E bridges 2 check, whether more than 4 GPUs (comp. Z170) are possible.

... not a cheap solution, if it really is one (2 be proofed).

 Cheesy PanneKopp

Well If you bought your PC only for mining than it's really bad. But based on your CPU and MB, guess it's all-around PC and you will mine during night or when not using it. In that case since you plan on having multiple GPUs you should disable all but one when not mining because of power draw.

Why would it be really bad, that processor also has resale value, in one year if he would decide to invest more into mining, he could just sell it.
Why ? well CPU mining is dead, and for the price of I7-7700 he could have bought 2 RX 470 cards and have 10x more hashrate so I don't really understand your point of view here.
891  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Website feature: get a new BTC address for each new visitor on: January 05, 2017, 11:50:36 PM
Thanks, but since i'm no big coder, I won't be able to confirm the integrity of your script. Surely, there should be some options, I can't be the only one in need of this?
Is there at least a way to serve BTC addresses from a .txt files or something?

Well there is a way to do it from txt files but again it would require some coding. It's not that hard, you can even try to do it yourself, just watch few tutorials. There are not many people in need for this because most of them use some payment processor like bitpay that makes their life easier or they know enough so they made their own system to suit their needs.
892  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which is the best algorithm script for altcoin? on: January 05, 2017, 10:28:44 PM
What do you people think that which is the best algorith script for an altcoin and why you prefer that script what is the reasons and what are the benefits?

I don't really understand what is point of this and your question is unclear. You mention script but script is algorithm itself. There is no best algorithm, I kinda expected this topic in mining section. That would made sense if you wanted to know what is best to mine atm
893  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Website feature: get a new BTC address for each new visitor on: January 05, 2017, 10:26:41 PM
I can create PHP script for you, but keep in mind it won't be free. Send me PM with what you want exactly and what your budget is. If you don't want to spend much money, just generate many addresses at once and when new user wants to pay just give him new address

895  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's CryptoNote GPU Miner v9.6 on: January 05, 2017, 09:55:47 PM
Hi

I have 4 rigs that work perfectly with Zcash (Claymore miner 9.2 no crashes whatsoever until now)

1)  7 x R7 370 ; windows 10 ; Crimson 15.12
2)  7 x R7 370 ; windows 10 ; Crimson 15.12
3)  2 x Rx480 + 4 R9 380 ; Crimson 16.9.2
4)  6 x Rx480 ;  Crimson 16.9.2

Monero is quite profitable at the moment, Rigs 1 and 2 worked perfectly with monero  miner 9.6.
However recurrent crashes occur with rigs 3 and 4. Sometimes after 15min, sometimes after a few hours.
I have no clue of whatever is wrong !

Maybe Crimson 16.9.2 is not what I need for monero miner??

Help.

We are waiting for new miners, but generally pass on 9. 5 and you will have happiness!

Rig 3 ans 4 seem stable now. I installed this driver non-whql-win10-64bit-radeon-software-crimson-16.11.4-nov15.
Getting around 700H/s for the Rx480 and 530 H/s for the R9 380 (no overclocking). Running fine for more than 6 hours now.
I'll watch and see  Shocked

********** Over 30 hours now ... works nicely...

4th day ... rock stable  Wink

Hey, can you please post what kind of hashrates are you getting for single cards ? Also I wandered what is power draw for mining xmr vs mining zec ? I'm mining Zcash at the moment but I think of switching to Monero
896  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 2 x rx470 windows 10 problem on: January 05, 2017, 08:44:09 PM
Hi
I have 2 sapphire rx470 4gb nitro plus. One of them is on the board and the other one is connected to my system with a 16x16 riser. Both have been flashed for mining ethereum.
My os is windows 10 and GPU driver is Radeon 16.9.2 .
The problem is that when I turn off or restart my computer
Windows fails to detect one of my cards and it takes me a long time to make it work again ( even I have not learned how it works again) sometimes I have to install windows again which is really difficult.
Please help me
Thanks
Motherboard : gigabyte z170x ud3
CPU: g4400

Have you figured out which card is failing ? I've read that this problem happens to some miners when not all cards are connected with raisers. Try disconnecting card with raiser completely and see if everything will work fine then
897  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: The Merkle / Bitcoin VPS Service Reviews on: January 05, 2017, 08:40:40 PM
Here at themerkle we do lots of bitcoin vps reviews. I decided to start this thread to compile them all as we go. You are welcome to request any vps reviews and they will be done in an unbiased manner.

For today we have GlowHost

GlowHost is a hosting provider worth checking out by all Bitcoin users. The company offers many different plans at affordable prices, and they are getting positive reviews so far.

Full Review: http://themerkle.com/bitcoin-web-hosting-service-review-glowhost/

Agree with  Monnt, list would be helpful here. When you said that we can request reviews for companies that sell VPS hosting, are you going to actually purchase VPS from them and write your review based on that ?
898  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Exchange instantly between Bitcoin,PerfectMoney,Skrill,Payeer, Okpay,Paypal on: January 05, 2017, 08:37:53 PM
Nothing works ! Even the exchange system.

You have to launch a finished service and not a simple presentation of your idea.

It's supposed to be a scam, don't even try.

@OP Why would anyone try to exchange bitcoins for bitcoins with your fee ? I don't really understand what you wanted to accomplish by adding that two transactions. For those that did not visit his website: img

899  Economy / Services / Re: PHP FAUCET on: January 05, 2017, 12:07:45 PM
I can fix some erros and add that features if you want me to. But I have fully working faucet script, secured, with admin panel and built on latest technologies by me. I can sell it to you cheap since not many users are interested in faucets anymore. Pm me if you are interested.

Hey .. can you please show me some screenshot of your faucet script layout? I'm interested in buying it if it is cheap .  Smiley

It was on auction here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1710417, You and OP can read some of the features there. Unfortunately Demo is no longer working but I can still send you some screenshots.

Whas is current hashrate for RX 470 cards and R9 380 cards ? Is it more profitable to mine XMR or ZEC with them right now. Price of both coins is currently high at the moment.
