This looks good and it's been running for a while. I might join one day. Smiley

The newbie lotto?  Don't wait too long, because it is only for newbies ( account less than 6 month's old ) and of course it is free.
Even though one doesn't win much in the daily draw, one wants to have their name in the database for the bonus draw that happens
now and then, where much more can be won.

It is easy to confirm quick payouts from faucets that payout to microwallet accounts.

Can't access it?

It's up for me.

Winner of yesterday's draw: holzer

Sometimes the payout takes a couple days to show up, esp., on the weekend. I am not the one who pays it. Read the lotto details at that link above or in the OP. This is I why I don't include any tx details in these daily lotto announcements. If you get announced as a winner just be patient and you will see the payout soon. Feel free to come back here and confirm you've gotten it.  But of course most winners perhaps have long moved on out of the newbie section and might not even notice they have won.

The newbie lotto bonus draw, on the other hand, is payed out by me and I announce it in this thread, along with tx details right after it takes place.

I am explaining this because of questions from a forum user in another place.

freebitcoinwin added to the list.

I'm not saying that there is anything wrong with freebitcoinwin, but here is what freebitco.in says about it

Quote
Websites like www.freebitcoinwin.com that look like ours have nothing to do with us and they are most likely phishing attempts to grab your freebitco.in password. Please refrain from using them.

What I said elsewhere:

There are lots of faucets which rip-off the scripts/look of other faucets. Doesn't make them phishers... perhaps just lazy.
One should of course use different passwords on every site they use... and be careful about supplying email addresses or any other personal information ( which this site doesn't ask for ).

I have reports from some that this site does payout, but I can remove it from the list until I hear more reports or get a payout myself.

Thanks for the feedback.

Balance carried over as well. Thanks for the report.

Redcoins readded to the list with their new url.

BitVisitor seemed to zero out my balance yesterday ( before the minimum was reached and therefore before any payout ).
Anyone else notice this, or any other issues with the site?

I am doing on bitvisitor for last few days regularly and have no issue they send my 100 uBTC very quick and now again I am on 45 uBTC may be something wrong with your account

Thanks for the report. Today my balance is back to where is should be. Don't know what the issue was.

I'll blame it on transaction malleability, like everything else that goes wrong.  Wink

I would like you to consider readding http://free-btc.cu.cc/#!/faucet
The popups are still there, but appears 10 times less (down from 20% chance of appearing to 2% chance of appearing).

What was unacceptable was the redirection to another page right after one uses the link... not cool even if it happens 0.2 % of the time.

Do you mean after you submitted? Because that's completely removed. I just talked about the popups, and if you don't like them you could just Ctrl+W the few times they appear.

I mean when I clicked on the link to your site it instantly opened a new tab for some other site and took me there.
Maybe on other browsers it would be a pop-up instead of a tab?

And why don't you send the payout instantly to microwallet for users that use their microwallet username, instead of making them wait to build up 5000 satoshis ( which would be dust if sent to a Bitcoin address instead of microwallet )?

I can't have Google Ads or similar on my site, which lead to me having very little incomes. Before these changes I was only able to send about 10 satoshis (and still I lost money). But of course, you might prefer 4 times smaller rewards and no referrals.

I would suggest that if you are only running the faucet to make money then you should find another line of work that pays better.   Wink

This list is to help newbies get started with receiving and using Bitcoin, not to help website operators make money.  Sorry.

I'm not trying to make money, just avoid losing lots of money. I pretty much want to go +- 0, and I try to adjust the payouts so I can do that.

Well good luck with that. But remember in order to be considered free and to get included on the list you need to make sure you don't make people jump through a bunch of hoops and annoy them in other ways. The point is to help newbies and make using Bitcoin a positive experience.

I will overlook my ads and see if I can make them more profitable so I can remove popups and lower the cashout limit/increase payouts.

Thanks. Let me know when your site is ready.

@Portnoy In the quick glance at your long whining, I did not find any Tx details. I am not interested to know your Lotto is Hourly, Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Yearly or whatever. I wanted to see you paid in last three months. It seems like that is bringing in a big trouble for you. OK ...at least show us your last 3 transactions of newbie lotto Cheesy

p.s. Please ...rather than posting another school boy essay, please be to the point. Just post your last 3 Tx details. I guess I have made things easy for you.

I don't keep track of every win in this fun penny lotto. It is not some 50 million dollar national lottery. I just keep track of the last winner with a flag in the database:
Spincycle  19qnq9mCpRiZn6CoUnhmjdxDe4cSuFoQLU
https://blockchain.info/address/19qnq9mCpRiZn6CoUnhmjdxDe4cSuFoQLU

Here is a winner from the 10th, before you created this thread:
lawren  15YttYCkFt9VApJZuwgQUQpEGotYtMhsio
https://blockchain.info/tx/0ce8d03070e8a054526f364b76233c8df8304b37971b78f13cf2cf62e434b9ae

The only trouble I am having is with a pita troll who is butthurt that I pointed out his thread is not necessary since there is already a thread of free Bitcoin sites that are verified by the community to payout.

I have gone a long way to explain things to you and only get insults from you in return; no doubt nothing will be good enough for you. If I gave brief answers you would complain about that.  I don't have to put up with your baseless accusations in your petty inquisition.

Goodbye and have a nice day buddy.

900  Bitcoin / Mycelium / Re: Mycelium Bitcoin Wallet on: February 13, 2014, 09:08:55 PM
Hi MyCelium people, good work on trading stuff but I heard you're using a tx radar for giving confidence to traders who receive BTC.

I think this is an extremely bad idea, as txs can be replaced after 100% propagation has been achieved by sending higher fee txs to replace the one you made. This attack only needs to work 1% of the time to be profitable but in reality can work much more (maybe even 100%) if pulled off correctly. You don't even need to tell the whole BTC network, just a few specific miners.

For instance if I submit my replacement tx to eligius using their web interface, then make the trade before eligius mines a block, if eligius mines a block it won't include the tx that got 100% propagation because that would've been rejected by eligius.

I suggest you remove this feature, and only using it for senders of BTC (not recipients).

The localbitcoins thing otherwise looks excellent. Thanks for this contribution. I don't mean to beat on this parade and be so negative, I like your work.
Thanks for your input Amir. The transaction confidence is not only based on network propagation, and never reaches 100%.
Here is what we look at:
- network propagation. We are listening to 500+ nodes
- length of the chain of unconfirmed transactions. If you tx depends on one unconfirmed output the confidence is halved. Halving for each link in the chain
- size of the fee of this tx and whatever unconfirmed tx it depends on
- Rela-time double-spend detection. If we detect one the confidence goes to zero.

We boil that down to a confidence number which never reaches 100%, and let the user take it into consideration when figuring out whether he wants to spend the time it takes to confirm with the seller. In the end it is an instrument that the buyer can use to help him judge the situation along with a number of other factors. Maybe he knows the seller, or he can see he has a five star reputation and 100 deals under his belt. He might also consider the seller a dodgy character and wait it out.

In the end there is no 100% guarantee, not even when the transaction has confirmed.

Thanks for the quick response to this, and any and all other concerns and questions people have in regard to your wallet and other services.   Smiley
