8801  Economy / Reputation / Re: Fake account. on: May 26, 2019, 12:29:55 PM
I think its not a new thing. Its so much common that who are working for forum improvement will be attacked by this kind of guys. You can take it as a part of your forum journey. For the fact of comparison i believe users will not take the wrong decision between you and that simillar profile.

Correct, there has been instance before wherein someone will create similar names in the community to somewhat misled people here. I think this is good move by @Coolcryptovator to give us a fair warning. Bitcoin price is going up, and so are the scammers and there might be some newbies who can fall for this trap and thinking they are talking to the real @Coolcryptovator.

It's really hard to see where the price is going to bottom, you might catch a falling knife in return. That's why investing in crypto is very very risky, and you should learn to at least mitigate that risk. If you're not comfortable getting in and buying then don't do it. But in return, you shouldn't regret any of your bad decisions, but learn from it.
8804  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 NBA Season on: May 26, 2019, 10:22:40 AM
In the series, the Raptors successfully defended the paint area and we can see that Giannis has been exposed and that is the reason why they lose. Now they will face a different team who is excellent in the three point area and also excel in passing and their rotation is nonstop. Running here, running there running everywhere Cheesy. I'm thinking how the Raptors will defend the Warriors who easily swept the Blazers.

Any match ups for the 2 teams?? Cheesy

Wow, Giannis was really exposed big time in this series specially in the last 2 games. Where is he when the team needed him, specially when they had the chance in the last dying seconds? Match ups will be VanVleet/Lowry vs Klay/Step, and then Green vs Leonard. But as you have seen, GSW is unpredictable, unlike the Bucks wherein it was all Giannis. And Toronto was able to solved that in Game 3 and Bucks didn't adjust. But this time Warriors is different, and there are also a lot of bench players in rotation that will play 10 minutes and contribute.
8805  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Old Hacker news discussion about Bitcoin on: May 25, 2019, 02:08:14 PM

https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=599852

Found some replies regarding bitcoin in the old hacker news websites. You just have to to look at the first reply and see how 'ignorant' people are back in the early days.  Grin. We can't blame them though, we haven't seen this kind of technology before, so it's understandable that people will question its intention and the impact it could 'potentially' bring to the world.
8806  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [2019-05-24]Facebook in Talks With Coinbase, Winklevoss’ Gemini to Launch Its Gl on: May 25, 2019, 11:36:45 AM
It is good that Facebook had now made it official that they are coming into the crypto space, this is a very good news for the crypto community because it just shows that we cannot be beaten and this is why they are now trying to join us, I remember Facebook blocking all of the ad related to crypto on it's platform but now have to life that ban because they are missing millions of dollars, let's just keep watching.

Can you explain further why this could be good news for crypto community? Those people behind are very intelligent and doesn't have that "if you can't beat them, join them" attitude. Their coins has some purpose, either to take a slice of the pie, or be a competitor of some major centralizes coins right now. It will not be another bitcoin, but another token for Facebook purpose only.

Seems no one is talking about this one. Can anyone confirm this? Obviously, I'm not a BCH holder, so perhaps some fanboy here can enlighten us as to what really happened behind the scene.
8808  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Chinese citizens could safely hold Bitcoin on: May 25, 2019, 10:45:46 AM
I will quote from the article:

However, there is still no need to be overexcited. The government maintains its ban and there is a very thin line between what is legal and what is illegal.

So I guess there is our answer for now. There's still no clear cut law, Chinese lawyers and courts doesn't agree on the principle on how to deal with crypto. So this is a never ending debate, in my opinion. Unless the Supreme Court of the Republic of China will step up and will have a concrete and comprehensible law about the nature of crypto in their country.
8809  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bare Knuckle: Malignaggi vs Lobov June 22 on: May 25, 2019, 09:41:08 AM
Malignaggi ? I thought this guy have already retired, honestly, I never heard a news that he is active again, the last time I saw him fight was against Miguel Cottor, that really shows I am not an all around boxing fan, I just watch big names like Pacman.

Will probably watch this fight and put some bets, I hope to see Malignaggi improve his punching power.

You sure you watched the fight? It was like 13 years ago dude. Cotto and Malignaggi fought in 2016.  Grin. So far I haven't seen any bookies yet,  I guess it's time for @Cloudbet, @Sportsbet and @Nitrogen Sports to open the gate for this kind of betting. So if they can read this thread, kindly reply guys because I think you have an audience here.  Grin
8810  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 NBA Season on: May 25, 2019, 09:15:18 AM
I agree. Leonard seems to have this ability to take over every 4th quarter win or loss. Similar to what Michael Jordan did during his prime with Chicago bulls.

Leonard is not a hype kind of a player.
The two candidates for MVP which is Harden and Giannis, could not match Leonard's ability to carry his team.
He doesn't force shots, he trust his teammates and that makes them very dangerous, I can say coach Pop were able to mold him into a great player.
Look at George Hill as well, he is just a bench player but he can take over and help his team to win, all coming from the Spurs.

The only issue if I may add is how the way him and the San Antonio Spurs separated, he was molded to be one of the best players in the NBA, but the relationship turned sour. Anyways, he is really looking good despite those pain he felt, so really evident how Kawhi Leonard is not an over rated player, but know to play hard and score when needed specially in the fourth quarter.
8811  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WPP Energy tokens? on: May 24, 2019, 08:48:25 PM
The value of WPP token has been on the decline lately, I really don't know what's causing the downtrend, but it's really depressing. WPP has been predicted severally to be a very sound project, though the value is down, its an opportunity for us to pack more tokens.

Because of the hype, but when it died, there's no more push to the price. Eventhough the team is working hard from behind, it's not even to get a lot of investors to get on-board on this project. I have seen a lot of project like this in nature. I mean a lot of investors pour their cash, however it fall from the expectations.

$0.002016 USD (4.35%). It's a far cry from the supposedly stable coins.

A Thursday report from China disclosed that the Kaiping District People’s Court of Tangshan City, Hebei Province has sentenced a 61-year-old woman to prison for stealing national power resources for the mining of bitcoin.

Just imagine seeing your grandma during holidays and asking, "what's keeping you busy?", and the responded will be, "mining bitcoin" Grin. That will be priceless.  Grin. So for 10 months, this old lady has been 'stealing electricity', but it look closely at the article, it looks like the profit is around $940 only. But she has to pay $1450 + jail time.
8813  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A New Bitcoin Rival Is Coming? on: May 24, 2019, 07:08:10 PM
As other's have pointed out, it could be a stable coin so there's no rivalry here. But it could potentially disrupt the remittances industry and I'm sure that's what Mark is targeting with this coin. It could be altcoin, but the thing is, this might be very centralised and the ledger only privy to their company. So no correlation whatsoever to bitcoin or even considered it a rival.
8814  Other / Beginners & Help / Disclosure: Key generation vulnerability found on WalletGenerator.net—potentiall on: May 24, 2019, 06:47:34 PM
If you have used a private key generated on WalletGenerator.net after August 17, 2018, move your funds immediately to a secure address.

Quote
TL;DR
Who is affected: Anyone who has put funds in a public/private key generated via WalletGenerator.net after August 17, 2018.
When: August 17, 2018 — Huh. While the malicious behavior is not presently found as of May 24, 2019, it could be reintroduced at any point.
What happened: There were changes to the code being served via WalletGenerator.net that resulted in duplicate keypairs being provided to users. These generated keypairs were also potentially stored server-side.
What you should do if you are affected: Securely create a new keypair / wallet and move your funds to that new, secure address. Some folks have recommended using bitaddress (offline) via https://github.com/pointbiz/bitaddress.org.

https://medium.com/mycrypto/disclosure-key-generation-vulnerability-found-on-walletgenerator-net-potentially-malicious-3d8936485961

I found an old thread (2014) promoting this service here. So there could be potential victims, and for those newbies, try to learn everything before using a paper wallet generator.
8815  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Manny Pacquiao vs Keith Thurman on July 20 on: May 24, 2019, 06:19:33 PM
Talk about hyping the fight.

Thurman: My Time Now, I'll End Pacquiao Like He Did De La Hoya

Quote
WBA welterweight champion Keith Thurman has a lot of respect for Manny Pacquiao, who captures titles in a record eight weight divisions.

But he still expects to end the career of the Filipino superstar on July 20th.

"I'm going to do to Manny Pacquiao what Manny Pacquiao did to Oscar de La Hoya. Manny Pacquiao was Oscar De La Hoya's last fight and Keith Thurman may be Manny Pacquiao's last fight come July 20," Thurman told Business Insider.

"Props to him and his beautiful legacy, but he will fall short. I always look forward to dismantling my opponents, destroying them, and showcasing my skills and talent each and every time I am in the ring. And I want to give Manny a proper farewell from the sport of boxing."

Is Thurman the one who's going to end the run of Pacquiao?

I don't think so, during that time Oscar Dela Hoya can't pull the trigger anymore, as he aged overnight. As compare to Manny who is very active and fighting on his comfortable weight class. Talk all the smack Keith, but Manny will be in your face from round 1.  Grin
8816  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bare Knuckle: Malignaggi vs Lobov June 22 on: May 24, 2019, 06:03:56 PM
You're a great fun of boxing since you made a lot of topic about the boxing, well this one is a good fight as well.
They talkshit to each other but I think Paulie really had a good experience and a huge advantage on this fight. I will also go for Paulie he looks more good and a powerful hands to KO his enemy.

Thank you mate, been a fan of boxing ever since I've seen a cover of Hagler vs Leonard back in the 80's.  Grin

Malignaggi is a bit of a dork, I really hope he gets destroyed in this fight. The guys runs his mouth constantly & barely backs his words up with actions. Hopefully Lobov knocks him out.

Well he is now a boxing analyst, so he really needs to run his mouth off.

This is going to be brutal, they really hate each other coming into the fight, Lobov has experienced in bare-knuckle fights but Malignaggi has very good boxing skills, I see this fight ending in a knock out with MALIGNAGGI winning if he can execute his hit and run tactics.

Right, a lot of bad blood between the two. So I'm not surprised if they knock off each other's teeth.
8817  Economy / Service Discussion / Robinhood Crypto Launches in New York on: May 23, 2019, 04:08:31 PM

Ok, so it looks official now, RobinHood just got their license to operate in New York. It's a quiet news but I do hope it will bring some positive impact to the market. We are in a bullish sentiments, so this kind of news is somewhat needed today because of the impact of one of crypto mixing services being seized by the authorities. So let's see how it will pan out in the next coming months.
8818  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / [PSA] Fake Trezor wallet on Google Apps on: May 23, 2019, 03:22:12 PM
Recently, there was a fake Trezor wallet app in Play Store,

https://play[dot]google[dot]com/store/apps/details?id=com.trezorwalletinc.cryptocurrency

Fortunately, it was already taken down.

SatoshiLabs also confirmed that it's not from them.

https://www.welivesecurity.com/2019/05/23/fake-cryptocurrency-apps-google-play-bitcoin/

Quote
The app masquerading as a mobile wallet for Trezor was uploaded to Google Play on May 1, 2019 under the developer name “Trezor Inc.”, as seen in Figure 1. Overall, the app’s page on Google Play appeared trustworthy – the app name, developer name, app category, app description and images all seem legitimate at first glance. At the time of our analysis, the fake app even came up as the second result when searching for “Trezor” on Google Play, right after Trezor’s official app.

The app claims it lets its users create wallets for various cryptocurrencies. However, its actual purpose is to trick users into transferring cryptocurrency into the attackers’ wallets – a classic case of what we named wallet address scams in our previous research of cryptocurrency-targeting malware.

How this works is that the app pretends to generate a unique wallet address where users can transfer their coins. In reality, this address belongs to the attackers’ wallet, as only they have the private key necessary for accessing the funds. The attackers have one wallet for each supported cryptocurrency – 13 wallets altogether – and all victims with any specific targeted cryptocurrency are given the same wallet address.

Again, friendly and gentle remainder not to simply trust anything you see in Google Play's Store or Apple App Store, specially regarding crypto wallets.

Difficult decision to really quit a regular job and fully focus on crypto trading. But I guess the OP has covered and already think many times before making the decision so kudos to you. I just wish that you make the right decision. Many take that route as well, but only few became successful. Its really hard to give financial advises, but I have said, it's your own decision, best of luck to you.
8820  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Inoue vs. Donaire WBSS Bantamweight Final on: May 23, 2019, 02:43:22 PM
Nonito is already way past his prime. I don't know he was still fighting at this stage of his career. I remember Brian Viloria, the Hawaiian Punch and one of his contemporaries. But now Brian has retired already due to age and the wear and tear of boxing. I don't know what the odds are, but if it too good for Donaire, then I will bet on him. But I'm sure he will be the underdog here. Yes, I agree, it will be experience vs youth here. With that said, I'm seeing Inoue by TKO, but I might put some money on the line for Donaire because he was one of my favorite fighter from the Philippines.
