The forum is logging all access to bitcointalk as well as numerous community sites, including bitcoin.org. This is because the Federal Reserve is about to announce a bitcoin confiscation similar to the closure of the gold window decades earlier. The Department of Homeland Security will knock on the doors of people who have accessed bitcoin related sites multiple times, or is an active user.

For starters, the charges you're referencing appear to have been little more than an IRS witch hunt. Maybe he voted Republican?  It takes a special kind of person to defend a felon convicted of scamming millions of dollars from senior citizens. Perhaps Wrenchmonkey and Mr. Vleisides have more in common than we thought. Speaking of riding the short bus, I present a line from his second post... Very generous of you. I've been buying copper, since I can't afford precious metals. Yet he's able to afford a place to store a couple tons of copper to eventually sell it for ten grand, profit made once he subtracts his investment cost. Even if he's going the save-the-copper-pennies route, he'll need to amass 292,000 pennies to equal a ton. If he sells the pennies at $.05 (5 cents each), he'll earn a whopping 400% profit, having ONLY his time and storage space for the pennies as his overheard, netting him a $11,680 ROI in who-knows-when. Here's what 2.5 tons of pennies looks like with a face value of only $10,000 being that their mixed clad:  If all copper, and at five cents each, his profit would be $40,000. In Late March of 2013, I published an open letter to Instawallet and the whole team at Paymium. The problem that was exposed was the fact that Google was listing all their private URLs. A few weeks later Instawallet was shut down. What I discovered was actually only the tip of the iceburg. http://www.adaptiveglass.com/?p=762I was all ears and eyeballs when the URL concern was at it's peak, of which you were kind enough to point out the exploits. My inital estimates were WAY off. Google only showed about 100 or so bitcoins in the index. Whereas when reading forums and reddit, I found that Bing, Yahoo and others had thousands of urls containing tens of thousands of bitcoins. I asked tough questions, so I thought, but my concerns were laid to rest, opting to not pursue it further due to the respect I had for the principals. I quoted the above to state that I did find a many funded addresses via Bing and Yahoo, unaware that such were being discussed on other forums, reddit, etc. The idea just came naturally to me. Upon seeing for myself that it was true (not touching a single coin belonging to others), is when I started expressing my concern. I had way too many bitcoins on InstaWallet, even though I was well aware of consequences, but I trusted the crew who manned it, just like I would trust theymos, Roger, or Rassah, to have control of my bitcoins if they happened to be running some similar site. With my concerns alleviated, I didn't think much more about IW, until the 2-3 days after the dam broke, and only brought to my attention by greyhawk via some other thread. My questions and concerns were then not addressed by Boussac, with davout nowhere to be found during that timeframe. I then went into vial mode, of which probably didn't help matters. Now, I'm in wait-and-see mode, hoping for the best. At one time, I had over a quarter of a million dollars worth of bitcoins on IW in three wallets: 1000 BTC; 123.xxx or 132.xxx BTC (honestly don't remember, but submitted the 123.xxx BTC amount to be fair, not knowing what the xxx...'s are); and .84 BTC. I honestly don't know if losing such a large sum justified my rant, for I've never been in a similar situation before, thus not knowing how to properly act. I finally settled down, realizing that that would probably be the best course of action, coupled with I wouldn't be out that much, if any, real money if the worse case scenario comes to past. But if it does, I will be screaming at the top of my lungs as if I did lose a fortune. |

Switched on the A/C yesterday... kind of shocked it still works. Before I bought the house, the bank owned it. They apparently don't do jack-shit in research on the people they hire for maintenance. Lawn maintenance people managed to cut through both the solid copper (and fairly thick!) A/C wire and the cheap vinyl siding (they pretty severely cut the siding, and that was a big PitA to get back on right -- still haven't done one of the corners). They cut out a big section of the wire, so I used cheap copper-strand wire and aluminum connectors to keep it going, since that's what I had on-hand. So far, nothing terrible's happened. Temperatures on the connectors are fine and it's pulling exactly as much electricity as it should.
I suffered through a >105*F Summer in PA 2 or 3 years ago without A/C (took naps in the car for "sleep" on the hottest weeks). Now it's a decent 78*F indoors and have a window unit waiting in the garage if the rusty old central unit craps out. Don't have a bunch of GPU miners, now (it'd get over 130*F ambient in mining room before with a bunch of box fans moving air in and out of the house -- was basically like being in a dehydrator with 15 MPH winds -- I'd smoke in there and lose about 80% of the tobacco to the wind smoking it for me), so at least I'm not combating wasted energy in the form of heat with a fairly powerful window unit going full-blast which couldn't even get temps to what they were outside. Definitely wish I set the gardens up to automatically water before the Summer heat came, though.

Unless there's a death in the family, there shouldn't be any reason all five principals can't be there posing for a photoshoot.
