8961  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin without Altcoin ? on: August 17, 2016, 02:11:19 PM
I just wanted to get your opinions on this one , what do you think Bitcoin would be if there was no Alternative coins such Litecoin & Dogecoin and the others ...
I mean it would be better with or without them Bitcoin would have no value at all ?

I think it will be the same.It doesn`t matter if there are any altcoins or no.

Altcoins exist mostly because of cryptocurrency speculators who manipulate their prices.

Only bitcoin has a large user base.
8962  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Companies Who Reimburse Losses Stay Alive on: August 17, 2016, 06:18:58 AM
A recent blog post from Xapo called “What happens if Xapo gets hacked?” the company discusses the unfortunate Bitfinex heist that took place on August 2, 2016. Xapo says that if they were compromised the company would cover the losses from its own reserve. This is a glaring difference to the many exchanges that failed to reimburse their customers.

It will be interesting to see how Bitfinex fares after their losses as it was the biggest Bitcoin exchange heist since the demise of Mt Gox. It’s safe to say exchanges that don’t pay their customers back in full will discourage new users from entering the Bitcoin space.

https://news.bitcoin.com/bitcoin-reimburse-losses-stay-alive/

Yeah, right. And what happens when Xapo reserves get hacked? Grin

Maybe Xapo customers will reimburse Xapo for their lost reserves.

Just kidding. Grin
8963  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin has no competition on: August 17, 2016, 06:16:02 AM
All those FUDsters that where saying year ago how Bitcoin would fail because another currency would take over get proven wrong year after year. The more time Bticoin is alive, the stronger it gets and the bigger the network effect. Sorry but there will not be a Bitcoin 2.0. Bitcoin will go to 100k+ per coin in the next 5 to 10 years, it will absorb all the value researched in the field if not directly through protocol improvements then through sidechains.

Bitcoin will remain the only solid coin. The only coin that survived for the longest time (other coins can't claim this unless they invent a time machine).
There will be alts that pump really hard and make people millionaires, but no alt is going to surpass Bitcoin's strength and solidity. No coin will get a bigger marketcap. In the long term people holding 21+ BTC will be rewarded by history with rich-tier status for seeing the value in it before most people did. Do not let the FUDsters trick your mind or the trolls try to derrail the excellent job being done by Core devs.

Let's continue then our path towards inevitable triumph.

You are right. No altcoin can compete with bitcoin and btc will stay strong and grow.

All the other cryptocurrencies exist because of bitcoin and without btc, they won`t survive.

I don`t care about the "FUDsters".
8964  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If Bitcoin moved above $10,000 USD per coin what would you do? on: August 17, 2016, 06:10:30 AM
I'd be getting ready for sharper moves higher Smiley

I don`t know.I don`t believe that this will ever happen.

This would be a dream come true for me and all bitcoin users.

I hope that the price will reach atleast $1000 next year.
8965  Economy / Economics / Re: What's the best type of micro investment you can do as of 2016? on: August 16, 2016, 11:47:33 AM
Hello, I'm wondering which is the best way to get some type of earnings at this time? are faucets a good way to earn something? or maybe there are some other ways, i tried making one some time ago but it didn't get much traffic although it's still up and running.
I was looking for something that don't demand a lot of time as i'm a student. I'm studying software engineering so it can be something related to programming. Any ideas are welcome!

Just creating a faucet isn`t enough. You have to promote it and drive traffic.

There are hundreds of other faucets online. There is a huge competition.

If you are good at progeamming, sell your skills online.Work as a freelancer.
8966  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is your money aim? At which point you would go in "retire"? on: August 16, 2016, 11:41:43 AM
How many bitcoins you would must have that you can go to retire?

What would be your point, that you would say i go and quite my real life job and i dont trade anymore?

The more the better, but i would say 500 btc. Grin

I don`t think that i`m going to save that amount and retire.

It`s a mission impossible for me.

8967  Economy / Exchanges / Re: What is The Best site to buy BitCoin? on: August 16, 2016, 11:38:25 AM
Guys can you help what is the best website to buy bitcoin as a trader but i need a low fees CEX.IO is good website? kindly help me

Fees are always high when you buy bitcoins. Sad

This stops many people from buying btc.

I assume that you don`t have a Coinbase account so you can`t buy btc directly.
8968  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Takara Bitcoin Game Lets You Collect BTC And Counterparty Tokens on: August 16, 2016, 07:47:36 AM
I just want to share this one here just in case you have not heard of this one before. It is a game like Pokemon Go but it is more like treasure hunting with BTC and Counterparty tokens. This should be fun to play. Get it here https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/takara/id1009304559?mt=8

Watch the video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RGlhoFg8qHo

I don`t have iphone. Is there any Android version?

I would give it a try,if it`s safe enough.

Usually I stay away from apps like this. They can scam people and steal bticoins.
8969  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is virtual currency for criminal on: August 16, 2016, 07:44:54 AM
Hey guys,

I answer,'why not?that legal, thats money is depend ur purpose, buy or sell something,or you will donation for terrorist.

Any have same statement like me?

Yeah,i have the same statement like you,but with better english. Grin

There is no such thing as a "currency for criminals".Criminals use mostly USD,is the US  dollar a

"criminal currency"?Off course not.
8970  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if POKEMON GO let people earn Bitcoin? on: August 16, 2016, 07:41:40 AM
What if POKEMON GO let people sell the pokemons they caught for fraction of Bitcoins?

Imagine this:

A person caught a Pokemon and sell them for 0.0003526 BTC

People who collects Pokemon can buy them on the online marketplace.
People from all over the world would have exotic rare pokemons for sell on the marketplace.

Original Post:
https://steemit.com/pokemon/@cryptocurrency1/what-if-pokemon-go-let-people-sell-the-pokemons-they-caught-for-fraction-of-bitcoins

And what`s the point of selling and buying pokemons when people can catch them for free?

The Digital goods area of this forum is full with pokemon go sellers,by the way. Grin

Maybe there is demand.
8971  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading is unpredictable job. on: August 14, 2016, 01:45:45 PM
There are many people who lost their money on trading, because trading is unpredictable job, in my opinion i need:
Method ( i must have system trading)
Money ( i must have management of money and risk)
Mind ( i must can control my emotion)
Tell me your opinions?

Yes.If trading was predictable, everybody could trade and the profit will be close to zero.

In trading,in order for you to win, somebody on the makertplace has to loose.

If everybody wins and nobody loses, there is no way to make a profit margin.
8972  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Unlicensed Exchangers on: August 14, 2016, 01:41:13 PM
Why do the people still use unlicensed exchangers like Kraken, Xapo, BTC-e, Okcoin, BTC China, Bitfinex and many others? All of them are out law and they can be closed anytime and your money lost...

This is only the most recent example but there are so many like: http://www.coindesk.com/men-plead-guilty-running-unlicensed-bitcoin-exchange/

Because they don`t have choice.Bitcoin is still illegal in some countries.

I don`t know is it possible for a cryptocurrency exchange platform to get a license.
8973  Economy / Economics / Re: What would it actually take to make BitCoin the most used currency in the world? on: August 14, 2016, 09:03:53 AM
What would need to happen to the global economy to actually make Bitcoin take over in place of National Currency like, USD, CAD or EURO?

So many people on here are banking on this happening one day, many even openly use this as a reason to invest in coins like Monero.
So I ask you, what do you think it would it actually take to make that happen?

WW3? An Asteroid, Alien Invasion?

I would say  support from the governments and political parties in the western world.

This isn`t going to happen so don`t rely on that.

WW3,asteroids and alien invasion can destroy the bitcoin infrastructure and also destroy the

civilization.
8974  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin + Exchanges = ? on: August 14, 2016, 08:23:34 AM
With all the hacks and manipulation going on are exchanges even a good idea?

It isn't panning out all that well for Wall Street.

Why is Bitcoin any different?

Bitcoin can exist without exchange platforms, altcoins can`t survive without them.

Altcoins can`t survive without bitcoin, the cryptocurrency commuinty is 95% about bitcoin and

5% about altcoins.
8975  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who is Easier to Convince? Employer to Pay in BTC or Local Store to Accept BTC on: August 14, 2016, 08:19:04 AM
Is it easier to convince an Employer to pay you in Bitcoin or is it easier to convince your local Store (where you buy your Food) to accept Bitcoin?
Did you already tried to do that? And if so how did you do it and with what results?

Interesting question. Both employers and local store merchants will accept bitcoin only if the bitcoin

price becomes more stable. What if you get paid a salary in btc and the next day bitcoin price does 25-30%

down? And what if you were a merchant and your revenues are in btc and the price does down?
8976  Economy / Economics / Re: Future of Bitcoin Economics on: August 13, 2016, 11:21:40 AM
Future of Bitcoin Economics depends on mass adoption of Bitcoin. No body can predict accurately the true future of Bitcoin.

Are you asking a question or this is just an answer to your own question? Grin

There are 30 threads here asking about the future of bitcoin. Smiley

Let`s stop thinking about the bitcoin future and act now to promote btc.

Bitcoin and Porn: An Extraordinary Mix
http://bitforum.info/t/bitcoin-and-porn-an-extraordinary-mix/284

I really don't know that porn sites are allowing bitcoin payment.

Well, anyone here knows other 'unusual' sites who are accepting bitcoin as payment?

I don`t consider this as "extraordinary mix".Actually it`s pretty ordinary. Grin

I was expecting that porn site owners will accept bitcoin as a payment method sooner or later.

It`s more anonymous than  other payment methods.
8978  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: $1.6M ln Bitcoin Auctioned Off in US: Will Bitcoin Price Increase? on: August 13, 2016, 11:15:16 AM
Totalling around 2719 BTC in one block, the Bitcoin comes from various sources connected to both criminal and civil cases. The auction will be online on August 22, 2016 from 8AM EDT to 2PM EDT according to the USMS in a statement.

Source : https://cointelegraph.com/news/16mln-bitcoin-auctioned-off-in-us-will-bitcoin-price-increase

Shouldn't we except a price decrease instead , I guess It's what happened in the last Silk road auction ?

I don`t think that this auction is going to have any impact over bitcoin price.

It`s just too small amount of bitcoins.

Can`t they just sell the bitcoins at market price. There`s no need of auction. Grin

8979  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin or changer on: August 13, 2016, 05:29:20 AM
will bitcoin be able to replace every means of payment in future?
Who knows but yes it might replace virtual transfer currency i.e paypal, etc.
whats your opinion?

Yes,if bitcoin price becomes more stable and the bitcoin community gains trust and get rid of all the

scammers,ponzis,HYIP,cloud mining, etc...

Paypal fees are increasing and a lot of people do not agree with their rules.
8980  Other / Off-topic / Re: What value does Bitcoin bring to you? on: August 13, 2016, 05:25:17 AM
Hi,

  • Why do you use Bitcoin instead of FIAT currencies?
  • What value does Bitcoin bring you that normal currencies do not?

If we want to make crypto currencies popular we need to agree on what makes them BETTER than the FIAT ones.
WE NEED TO SPEAK IN TERMS OF VALUES!

I admit that I use Bitcoin just because I'm curious of new technology, but I strongly believe that it can prosper in many fields! But why and how, I ask.

How would you persuade your grandma or child to use BTC?

What makes Bitcoin better?

For me the value is the lower transaction fees, the bitcoin price fluctuation and anonymouty.

My grandma will never use bitcoins for sure. Grin

Some of the bitcoin advantages are also disadvantages. That`s why many people are still afraid to use btc.
